When Rodgers took over was such a fun time to be a Packers fan. As much as I loved Favre, it was so cool to witness the new era (I was too young to witness the beginning of the Favre era). I think we could be seeing the same thing in terms of the new head coach and coaching staff. I'm very excited for this season. GO PACK GO
he worked a lot on his mechanics while sitting on the bench. Mccrappy and the qb coaches completely changed his throwing mechanics in those years. applying them in game was the most important aspect of the 08 season. by 09 he was really starting to find his groove and obviously by the time they made the playoffs again in 2010 he became one of the baddest dudes in NFL history to ever flick the pigskin.
There's also a highlights reel of Brady's first start, and I was struck by the differences. Rogers had had three years of sitting on the sideline, and now he was the crown prince taking over for the king. He was drafted in the first round, was always someone to be watched, and had known this moment was coming for months, ever since Favre announced his retirement. His victory was welcome, and enjoyed, and everyone felt relief that he could, indeed meet a high standard. He was clearly a star. Brady was taken in the sixth round, no one thought much of him, he'd been given the starting job with a week's notice after Beldsoe's injury, and no one expected anything from him. He was facing Peyton Manning and the Colts. At that point, a number of analysts ranked the Colts within the top three teams. Patriots were at the bottom. We're accustomed to thinking of the Patriots as the top team, but people said they were made of cast-offs, rejects, and losers. Rodgers made a much better show as a first time starter. He threw some beautiful balls, he understood exactly what he needed to do, watching him is a joy. He could run and move to a startling degree. I only wish he'd had better weapons around him. I don't know how he dropped that far in the draft, but the Packers are fortunate to have grabbed him. Brady, in that first game, depended, heavily, on a defense that suddenly came alive, and a running game no one suspected even existed. The fun of that clip is watching Manning's growing frustration, a defense no one believed in (that scored two touchdowns and forced two other turnovers), a running game that suddenly emerged (analysts, in discussing it later, couldn't believe it showed up), and unexpected qualities from a quarterback no one believed in. Brady made some good throws, made some good decisions, and didn't make any important mistakes. He wasn't Brady, not yet. That would emerge during the year. But even within that first game you could watch him improve. Final score? Patriots 44, Colts 13. Manning scored one of those touchdowns himself.
it's hard to argue he's thrown a better touchdown pass than this first one as a starter at 3:40. absolutely wicked angle that the ball is thrown at relative to the direction rodgers is facing, slips by 3 separate defenders fingertips, all while off balance. very impressive and beautiful to watch

"that's a favre like throw" Lol bruh Favre not making that fucking throw
Kornheiser was a Favre ball washer. he was going to bring up Favre as much as posslble to the point where jaws just told him to shut up.
I was at this game. It was my first one, I bought a Greg Jennings jersey that I still have.
"Chester Taylor in, 3rd and 4"
"Jackson's throw low."
That kid wearing No.12 has potential. ---- Some Packer fan in 2007.
Damn Jordan Love
Back before living in Wisconsin sucked all the joy out of his life
Crazy to say honestly, but Jonathan Taylor runs so much like Adrian Peterson did back in these days. I never thought of the comparison until I saw these highlights, but the speed-power-vision combination is unquestionably similar between the 2.
Wow....great to see Jennings and Driver and the whole old gang...plus I didn't remember it....it was exciting. whew.
So much nostalgia.
Best play on the tape is Crosby hustling after that blocked kick and making a tackle
Dude it’s crazy what Aaron Rodgers has been able to do. I mean he didn’t start until 08 and hasn’t done anything since his injury in 2017. But from 2010 to 2016 he was a top 3 quarterback
Wow I completely forgot about Will the thrill’s punt return! He was fun to watch
Genius clock management by Mccarthy at the end of the first half there
Remember this game
That touchdown throw was absolutely ridiculous man.
This game that changed the game forever and he became the face of the nfl and one of the best and most elite arms and accuracy in the game and one of the al time greats what a career and what a journey
He is not and never was the face of the NFL considering he played in an league with Tom Brady. Relax
x dub sky he is dummy
x dub sky Brady is overrated, he got all the credit for the Super Bowls, yes he’s good but he gets all the credit and is supposed, the reason why the patriots have 6 Super Bowls which is false, Brady gets carried
@@TheDogBark27 Yeah, it's a team sport. What's your point?
@@TheDogBark27Rogers has been a one-man show and Brady has a team big difference.
The Vikings were thinking, "without Favre, the NFC North is ours!" Rodgers takes over and it's, "oh crap." 😆
Narrator animal planet voice: "And it was exactly that moment.... 12:04 the entire NFL knew there was a new King in the NFC North. A new era has begun"
