I'm gonna say it'll be different from the Packers fans. Brady left for Tampa, not a division rival, & won a Super Bowl there. @@chriskay1449lmao a 40 year old favre coming to a brand new team and going to the nfc title game is pedestrian? What QBs have ever done that besides tom Brady this past season with a brand new team...

@@chriskay1449 Pedestrian? He was tied for 2nd in the league that season with Peyton Manning with 33td's. The league has been adapted to pad QB stats over the last decade. In 2009 the leaders for TD passes were : Brees: 34 Manning/Favre: 33 Rodgers : 30 with no other qb surpassing 30 td's. Favre made stars out of Sidney Rice (had 1,300 yards in 2009 and never eclipsed 800 any other year in his career) and Shancoe (11 td's). With Favre under center Adrian Peterson, usually useless as a receiver, had his best season with 27.3 receiving yards per game. The offense became #2 in the league under Favre after finishing 12, 15, 26, and 19 the previous 4 seasons. Nothing pedestrian about getting an MVP stolen because he was a "villian" in 2009, and a super bowl being stolen in a bounty bowl, where the media still ignores the missed fumble, phantom pi call, and reviewed catch that hit the ground but was called complete for the saints in OT.
@@redt7452 You miss the point entirely. The stats Favre had in 2009 QB's routinely get every year now. His age is irrelevant/. It is laughable to say nobody will ever do what Favre did when Brady already has done it multiple times and a number of other QB's have.
Say what you will about Farve but the man was still throwing rockets at 40, very impressive. The two throws after 10:48 show that he was still a gun slinger.

The Saints have been cursed ever sense
As a Saints fan the Vikings lost that because Favre threw a stupid interception not the Saints fault
@@jango3221 shut up dude yall were hitting him late all game. bretts head was probably so fucked up that he didnt know what to do
BRett Favre a victim of his own ego because he had to play hero ball instead of running.
@@jacksonglen7647 Brett knew exactly what he was doing. He does what he did his entire careeer. He tried to play hero ball. He let his ego get in the way of the team.
I watch this at Packer in Wisconsin, and as Viking fan it was one of the most
That Minnesota squad was so fun to watch
2 of the 5 most skilled/talented Quarterbacks to ever exist. Best combination of arm and leg in one game until Wilson v Mahomes.
Ahhh! Thank you for this. My day was going slow until I saw this star studded affair. Perfect for August!
Harvin was unbelievable before his health problems ...
Favre made football fun to watch
As a Patriots fan. This week, I'm going to feel what these Packers fans felt when Favre returned to Lambeau. Brady's return to Foxborough. Emotions are going to be sky high!
I'm gonna say it'll be different from the Packers fans. Brady left for Tampa, not a division rival, & won a Super Bowl there. And since Brady delivered 6 rings to the Patriots before he left, I think fans would at least cheer him loudly when he goes out of the tunnel + pregame. When it comes to the game proper, then they'll cheer for the home team ofc.
@@ptherochannel-main yeah either way, the emotions are gonna run deep!
@@ptherochannel-main for it to be a valid analogy, he would have had to gone to the Jets, then I'm sure he would have been booed.
I was there on the sidelines for this game when farve ran out, I was young so I dont remember alot but i remember how deafening the booing was when farve came out in the purple jersey
1:39 He seems like Favre so much that he bought jersey of Favre as a Jet
AHHH
I thought the same thing!
Man that music at the beginning... Really takes me back.
I miss that Vikings team, they were THE team that year. I know it didn’t end good at all 😭 but regardless that was a crazy fun year. I don’t thinks another QB will do what favre did in 09
Except Rodgers already has multiple times. Mahomes has surpassed that. Favre's 2009 is becoming more and more pedestrian compared to what the QB's are doing in 2021.
@@chriskay1449lmao a 40 year old favre coming to a brand new team and going to the nfc title game is pedestrian? What QBs have ever done that besides tom Brady this past season with a brand new team...
@@redt7452 His stats were pedestrian. Rodgers has blown those stats out of the water several times over. And that NFC title game stuff means nothing because he ultamately choked it away with another one of his patented bonehead INT's. I wouldn't brag about that.
@@chriskay1449
Pedestrian? He was tied for 2nd in the league that season with Peyton Manning with 33td's.
The league has been adapted to pad QB stats over the last decade. In 2009 the leaders for TD passes were :
Brees: 34
Manning/Favre: 33
Rodgers : 30
with no other qb surpassing 30 td's.
Man I thought Pat Maholmes had an arm, Brett Favre's arm was something else, and the man was 40 in this video
Brett is my favorite player of all time
Crosby been with packers for a long time guy doesn't get the appreciation he deserves
That was a pretty purple attendance in the Lambeau.
Say what you will about Farve but the man was still throwing rockets at 40, very impressive. The two throws after 10:48 show that he was still a gun slinger.
We may see another one. This time with Rodgers on the Bears and Love on the Packers
That makes me want to have. Ewwww. Lol
Except Rodgers doesn’t have much of a reason do get revenge (unless it’s for all the nfccg losses)
As a Saints fan Farve and the Vikings were fun to watch that year and they gave my saints a good game in the NFC championship game!
I still can't believe they booed Brett after all he did for them and all the sacrifices he made.
He acted like a jackass on his way out the door and tried to manipulate his way to Minnesota while still under contract at the same time. He deserved to get booed for that behavior.
@@chriskay1449 just like A rod will then? He's doing the same thing right now
@@ahmedrahim2500 Not the same thing. A Rod has not spoken publicly about this matter and also has not faked a retirement to try to get the Packers to release him. Hell, he hasn't even asked for a trade either. The Packers haven't budged and they also learned from their mistakes with Favre as they are publicly stating their committment to Aaron and nothing else. They are in a far better position now than they were with Favre.
@@chriskay1449 He has asked for a trade and threatened retirement?!?!
@@vladtheimpaler9770 There is no proof Rodgers has which is my point. Brett did both publicly. He also publicly demanded his release. All he was with Rodgers is a "report" by Adam Schefter who has since admitted he actually has no sources backing up the story.
Great moment in sports. 2 of the best ever. Vikings were a play away from the SB this year and Green Bay won it the next year.
This Should Be on The Vikings Classic Games Not The Packers smh 🤦♂️
If you're wandering why Joe Buck didn't call the game he was calling the 2009 WS that night for Fox in Philly that night
At least joe buck wasn't calling this game
Thank God because it would’ve been annoying hearing his voice like it is for every game he calls
Better days.... 09 man if I could go back 😞
Favre The GOAT!!!
As a Vikings fan at the time, this game was one of the most enjoyable ever. The only thing that might have been able to make it better is if Randy Moss had been on the roster to catch a TD and moon the Cheeseheads one more time!
Favre is so remembered for playing for the Packers that they forget that the Falcons drafted him.
So what, same for Drew Brees, many forget he was drafted by San Diego but he’ll be remembered as a Saints qb
@@AussieAvgeek98 , the point is that it's an underrated fact.
@@AussieAvgeek98 I think more people remember that Brees was with the Chargers since he was there for 5 years when Favre was only with the Falcons for 1 year.
@@joemckim1183 and Favre backed up Jeff George too so it’s less rememberable
@@devinjerryfreedomisfree4599 Wasn't Favre's first completion to himself? I think it was on a tipped pass.
One of the craziest moments in sports history
Favre running onto to Lambeau field in a Vikings uniform. As a Vikings fan it was very different rooting for him but I really enjoyed having him on the team. The fact that they didn’t win the sb that year will always piss me off
Blake Bortles Comeback! (Giants vs. Jaguars 2014, Week 13)
umm... no
I love this RUclips Channel ❤️
Farve should have went to the Superbowl in 09. All he had to do was run 8 yards against the saints and kick the field goal. That throw back over the middle. WTH.
Feel good stories aren't allowed in pro sports, maybe once or twice a century
His ankle was destroyed during that game anyway, the doctor who did the surgery said it wasn’t even healed by the time the next season started. Vikings would’ve lost the Super Bowl and Favre would’ve been hobbling around on one leg the whole time. The story would’ve been the same.
As a Green Bay fan, much as I hate to say it, that’s the Favre special. Forcing a ball into double coverage and praying for the best…
God, he was so much fun to watch, but he was also one of the most *painful* players to watch.
Love should watch this. Rodgers and Love aren’t that far off track from one another. Hopefully Love can continue on Aaron’s trajectory
Love has probably watched things you couldn't imagine seeing. Lambeau field will sell out the seats for the rest of the existing time the packers play. Doesn't matter who is qb or the kicker. Youngest team in the league... let's get ready for good things. Just takes time. #gopackgo
As a Die hard Vikings fan, it feels good to rewatch these games where it felt like we were on top of the world. Unfortunately, seasons like 1998, 2009, 2017 are few and between. And it looks like the zimmer era is coming to a close.
Not yet.. Kirk and JJ are about to save Zimmer from getting fired

Very true brother heck of a great quarterback such a strong smooth release when it comes to reading the defensive line for the game winning play
Green Bay got the last laugh the following year but beating Brett twice and winning the Super Bowl.
Last laugh for what? Not welcoming the next bart Starr back to the field in a exhibition match that turned volatile? But yet brett played admirably by using just talent and modern intuition. True packer fans recognize a true packer. ESPECIALLY mfin Bret Favre, brother(regretfully). 😁
@@justink9912 He tired to manipulate his way to Minnesota while still under contract and thought he could win a Super Bowl there in order to stick it to Green Bay. @@chriskay1449 is not a true packer. Ended up a cripple lmao. He was just shooting bows with stone cold. Manipulate? Ted Thompson never gave him a choice to come back to green Bay. If it's your last two years, you wouldnt wanna go to a team with Superbowl potential? Lmao youre a riot sir
@@justink9912 Favre tried to use the fans to force Ted to release him by continually badmouthing the organization. What he failed to consider was that 1)The Packers had plenty of cap space to take his contract back on, and 2)Ted absolutely not caring one iota what either Brett or the fans thought. Then he ran his mouth one too many times with his Fox News interview which caused the fans to revolt against him. Oh and by the way son, the Packers were just in the NFC title game when he "retired" so he was already on a Super Bowl contender.
