There are quite a few nuances with penalties like this that can end up benefitting the wrong team. A few weeks ago Tampa Bay was driving at the end of the first half, threw a ball that was picked, but the interception didn't count because the defender interfered. However the return on the interception (even though it didn't count) ate time off the clock. Tampa Bay who had saved a timeout only had time left to attempt one hook and ladder play, rather than potentially two plays that could have setup a field goal. Special teams has a number of penalties that can potentially force a repunt/rekick with worse results despite the defense committing the foul. Some poor rookie punter got pasted twice in a row in Dallas earlier this year and was forced to punt a third time with a net loss of yards due to the way refs currently officiate running into vs roughing the punter.

@TheWhiteWhale I'm not a fan of the Chiefs, but that seemed to be a trend during the seasons of Dick Vermeil as a coach for y'all. The playoff game vs the Colts in the 2003 season comes to mind. The first six campaings for the Colts ended with points on the board (5 TD's, 1 field goal)

That is the most irritating thing on Earth, I swear. I feel sorry for anyone in his immediate vicinity. I would want to shake him until the gum popped out of his mouth. I have to close my eyes every time he comes on the screen, because I can't stand seeing him chew his gum (literally). I have misophonia, and I can just imagine what it sounds like being next to him, and it makes me anxious. Plus, I can't stand him to begin with, so there's that.
The Bengals vs. Steelers was the best, because not only was it a playoff game that Marvin Lewis just can't win, but it was also a twofer with two consecutive penalties on one play.
Or sorry not PI I meant a face mask call you're technically allowed to grasp the face mask just as long as you let go right away, which is what happened at best
Austin Stein Hence why Rodgers' helmet was half across his face? Idk man. Sure, it was a close one, but you can't review penalties anyways. A call is a call. To me, I honestly believe that it was a face mask, but it's too close to call. I guess that since his helmet was legit halfway through his face, they got a face mask call, Sure, it gave the Packers a chance, but shame on the Lions for playing a lateral defense and not a Hail Mary defense, LMAO.
The Browns pass interference in the endzone call was a typical screw the Browns call. Everyone is fighting for the ball and this is never called on a Hail Mary unless very obvious. Nothing obvious here except it is obvious the refs wanted the Browns to lose.
I will never understand how, in a game where you are SUPPOSED to tackle people to the ground, pushing someone out of your way is interference and a penalty.
You forgot the one from the Browns-Chiefs game where the Cleveland player got a last-second penalty for throwing his helmet because he thought the play was over, and the Chiefs won the game with a FG on the next play...
Joseph Fernando If it makes you feel better us Browns fans will NEVER FORGET. Boneheaded bastard made Leon Lett look like a Harvard valedictorian. Opening day too I believe. Not only did he remove, ie spike his helmet for the flag... But he didn't get the tackle he was celebrating and the Chiefs were running down the field while his back was turned.
Add this to the list: Commanders down a point, minute left, and it's 4th & 1. If they stop Russell Wilson, they get the ball back. But no... they jumped. Ball game-win for the Steelers.
They didn't include the Colts/Bucs game from 2003 where the Colts scored 21 points in less than four minutes, forcing overtime. The Colts missed the FG but the Bucs were called for "leaping" and the Colts got a second chance... and made the kick. I still can hear Al Michaels's yelling "Leaping?"
Fact: Marshawn Lynch was only 50% on runs of one yard or less that season, and was 1 for 5 on 1 yard goal line runs that season. 1 for 5. Everyone talking about how Lynch was a gimmie for the win doesn't know what they are talking about. Lynch had already been stuffed two of four times THAT GAME by the Pats on short yardage. Marshawn Lynch had a just over 40% success rate on short yardage goalline rushes for his career. Don't forget that the Seahawks earlier in that very game had to settle for a fieldgoal because Lynch was stuffed on a third and one from the 8 yard line.
@@ringringbananarchy true, but it was because the play before he had just busted out a long run, and had a lot of momentum. Not to mention I believe they still woulda had another down afterwords.. so you do the less risky play first (run) rather then a no look throw... (which is one of the most risky plays since you're throwing before you even see them..)
Along the lines of the Giants example in the video - Cowboys @ Redskins in 2006, Redskins blocked a game-winning FG attempt, and during the return the Cowboys committed a facemask penalty. Added to the finish of the return, the penalty moved the Redskins into FG territory and allowed them to make the game-winning kick instead.
@@bryandowling8524 they thought they were playing it safe and smart and it ended up being neither. that interception was almost a miracle. the stupidity after it was the killer. patriots were always coached that they were never out of the game

@@steelenigma17 It's a part of the game and that's something you need to deal with. Going down when just being grazed is a real weapon in the Kickers limited arsenal. Unlike every other positions, kickers are not meant to be hit so even in grazing hits they try to sell something.
@@sirbreadstick there’s actually a rule against kickers trying to force penalties but it’s rarely called especially now(possibly removed tbh I don’t follow the rule book that closely) basically a no flop rule but again rarely ever called
As soon as I saw the Lions video (kinda surprised it took 9 minutes to get one in there), I was thinking, "Yeah, how is the Lions going to mess this up this time?" And then I saw they were playing the Browns. Leave it to the Browns to be the team that gives a Lions a win. If only the Lions could have returned the favor to the Browns when they are nearing to tying them for the best record ever. (0-15)
Green_MidKey If Cockrell didn't get that defensive holding on 3rd down, Giants could've won. Doesn't help that Eli kept missing throws and recievers dropped them when they were accurate.
Green_MidKey It's a rough season. Eli's old now, Engram's still very young, and we're using 4th and 5th string wide recievers. At least the defense has shown some promise, I have high hopes for next season there.
In the bucs-saints clip at 10:15 it looked like the defender pushed him out of bounds. I thought illegal touching was only called if the receiver went out of bounds on their own, maybe I’m wrong I’m not a football rule junky
Nope-- illegal touching means that if you're the receiver and you go out of bounds, whether on your own or as a result of a force-out (why they let defenders force receivers OB and don't call it as interference, I have never understood), then it's illegal touching if you come back and catch it. By that rule, then, if a defender forces a receiver OB, then the pass would have to be an incompletion or a free interception, because the receiver cannot touch it after being OB.
It is legal for a defender to shove a receiver out of bounds because the QB still has the ball in his hands and was out of the pocket (the tackle box). If the QB was still in the pocket (between the tackles) then Illegal Contact would be called. But since the QB was outside the pocket, then Illegal Contact would be negated.
Some of these plays aren't completely related to the loss such as the one at 2:10, if he didn't hold him he probably would of got back and sacked the QB and prevented the throw in the first place. Also at 4:21 if he didn't pass interfere the DB he probably wouldn't of even of caught that game winning TD, same with the one at 8:00. They def could of gone a different way but nothing as big as the others
The first clip is probably the only time in the history of the NFL that "we're clearly not going to hike it, and are only trying to draw you offsides" has worked.

3:00
Pete Carrol wasn’t aggressively chewing his gum… that’s a surprise
That is the most irritating thing on Earth, I swear. I feel sorry for anyone in his immediate vicinity. I would want to shake him until the gum popped out of his mouth. I have to close my eyes every time he comes on the screen, because I can't stand seeing him chew his gum (literally). I have misophonia, and I can just imagine what it sounds like being next to him, and it makes me anxious. Plus, I can't stand him to begin with, so there's that.
The commentary makes this that much more enjoyable to watch!
What about when Detroit got a "facemask" setting up the famous hail Mary for Aaron Rodgers
yeah where is that one
Exactly one of the best but its not on here
Who wants to be reminded that the front shoulder collar is part of the face mask?
@@petepoindexter4645 because it was a horrible call
Because it wasn't a legit penalty and the refs stole the game from the Lions like they always do.
The Bengals vs. Steelers was the best, because not only was it a playoff game that Marvin Lewis just can't win, but it was also a twofer with two consecutive penalties on one play.
juggalo1 bruh he hit AB in the head..... That's the rule, no head hunting like you bumgals do to Steelers all of the time
That game was a rollercoaster
Now you gotta include the Lions game today
kenneth1803 yea lol
And the redskins vs saints
They only got the block because of offsides.
Yea and the penalty from being offsides allowed the Vikings to run the clock down to zero. It made them lose the game.
Swagi has more swag than you they would have lost either way lol
You can now add superbowl 57.
You can add the unnecessary roughness penalty by the Bengals from the AFC title game to this.
came here just to say this lol
5:38...the signal for illegal foreard pass looks like wafting a fart.
The Packers Hail Mary against the lions should have been in here
Ben Dreher that wasn't pass interference and they confirmed that shit so nah
Um not really dude
Or sorry not PI I meant a face mask call you're technically allowed to grasp the face mask just as long as you let go right away, which is what happened at best
I totally agree
Austin Stein Hence why Rodgers' helmet was half across his face? Idk man. Sure, it was a close one, but you can't review penalties anyways. A call is a call. To me, I honestly believe that it was a face mask, but it's too close to call. I guess that since his helmet was legit halfway through his face, they got a face mask call,
Sure, it gave the Packers a chance, but shame on the Lions for playing a lateral defense and not a Hail Mary defense, LMAO.
I read that ‘’Losing Penal Ties’’😑. It looked to me initially like there was a space.
Kerning fail, AKA 'keming'.
1:16 he yells they got him then the announcer says it lol
Antonio Brown has never been the same since that hit
A classic 'no evidence for this' comment.
@@powerboon2khe legit has brain damage
@@powerboon2kThe evidence? You want evidence? All you have to do is see how AB changed after the hit, especially from the 2018 season on.
Now do part 2 when the Lions lost due to that offsides penalty
TrickshotUniverse
They wouldn't have blocked it unless he was offsides.
2:40. BONEHEAD Bennett strikes again!
This deserves an update with what happened between Cincinnati vs Tennessee yesterday
4:33 Greg Gumball: Penalty marker is down!
Do a when they got the safety video
He already has one look it up
Gemini Man maybe another one then 👍🏻

Mr Fragels kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
You forgot the one from the Browns-Chiefs game where the Cleveland player got a last-second penalty for throwing his helmet because he thought the play was over, and the Chiefs won the game with a FG on the next play...
When the Cleveland Browns are involved, YOU JUST KNOW they're gonna screw it up!
People forget the Browns used to be a dynasty. How far we have come...
Dwayne Rudd is his name I think.
@@JSSTyger One of the all-time great dynasties in sports.
That Steve Smith push-off is still less than every single play for DeAndre Hopkins
I was looking for a comment that mentioned that
The defender sold it so hard
That Titans kicker did a good job selling that against the Steelers
Huge fan bro ! Keep up the good work
stafford holy shit a beast
(2:42), Super Bowl 49 Doesn't Surprise Me And Just Makes Me
Laugh,
agreed haha
Yes, that false start made me laugh too ... WWE kind of laugh
I still can hear Al Michaels's yelling "Leaping?"
nice acting by the Titans kicker there
an oscar worthy performance
Thorin Jordan are you blind??
He IS blind. The worst kind of blind. None so blind as he who WILL NOT see.
3:50 that guy looks like my principal
Add today’s Vikings lions game lol
john ban
He wouldn't have blocked it unless he was offsides

Referees making good calls
4:19 that ref looks like he’s boutta cry lol
The Seahawks had already lost the game when they decided to pass instead of run
Anybody familiar with the Dwayne Rudd helmet toss? Kansas City vs. Cleveland.
Yep - I remember that game well. Sad part, am BOTH a Browns fan & a Chiefs fan!!!!
I just got finished watching the devastating lions game
It was pretty clear.
reminds of that one segment "C'mon Man!"
I am a Seahawks fan, and it is extremely frustrating to watch clips from the super bowl
Why didn’t they give the ball to lynch??🤷🏻♂️🤷🏻♂️
@@bryandowling8524 they thought they were playing it safe and smart and it ended up being neither. that interception was almost a miracle. the stupidity after it was the killer. patriots were always coached that they were never out of the game
3:58 that looked so fake lol
It was he missed and took a dive. Number 20 was already diving. He couldn't stop his momentum and maybe grazed the kicker. But no way should that of been called. Not in a game. Not in a time like that
@@steelenigma17 It's a part of the game and that's something you need to deal with. Going down when just being grazed is a real weapon in the Kickers limited arsenal. Unlike every other positions, kickers are not meant to be hit so even in grazing hits they try to sell something.
Thought I was watching soccer smh
terrible calll

But also in that same year, the Rams went 1-15. That 1 win for the Rams........vs the Lions.
need part 2 after that cardinals-rams game
That Stafford game from his rookie year is all the proof you need that hes elite. Not super elite, but elite
He just needs a better team then?
I know this isn't a penalty but when the jets got a fumble when it should've got a touchdown
I’ve never seen someone so dead inside. (2:53)😂💀💀
I find it funny how more than half of these involve the Saints 😂
How about the Dwayne Rudd helmet removal? Gave the Chiefs another 15 yards to kick the game winning field goal. September 2002
What a great video, I enjoyed watching this. Thank you
I expected the giants and lions all on this list
Green_MidKey
If Cockrell didn't get that defensive holding on 3rd down, Giants could've won. Doesn't help that Eli kept missing throws and recievers dropped them when they were accurate.
true i'm really disappointed in my giants sometimes..
Green_MidKey
It's a rough season. Eli's old now, Engram's still very young, and we're using 4th and 5th string wide recievers. At least the defense has shown some promise, I have high hopes for next season there.
saquon Odell B's show now. Preseason starts tonight we might get first taste.
Now do game winning penalties
like the face mask call that led the packers to a game winning hail Mary?
wipeout jack that was a bad call
wipeout jack ya I guess, but I kinda agree that it was a bad call, but yes it was still a game winning penalty
Dont Judge This Name it’s also a game losing play at the same time.
That’s called the Patriots highlights
I love my lions but this is the time when I don't want to see a lions highlight real

Try being a BROWNS fan!!!
That first clip represents how Fitzception went to Harvard. No cap.
I always laugh at the saints Seahawk clip, pretty much just bc I’m a hawks fan, plus the way the saints player threw that is just hilarious looking😂
Anyone here after Kadarius Toney Was offsides😂
Some of these plays aren't completely related to the loss such as the one at 2:10, if he didn't hold him he probably would of got back and sacked the QB and prevented the throw in the first place. Also at 4:21 if he didn't pass interfere the DB he probably wouldn't of even of caught that game winning TD, same with the one at 8:00. They def could of gone a different way but nothing as big as the others
The first clip is probably the only time in the history of the NFL that "we're clearly not going to hike it, and are only trying to draw you offsides" has worked.
Who ever knew that fanning a fart would become an NFL penalty call??
Anyone else see the thumbnail as “Losing Penal Ties”?
What the fuck
The Steelers/Bengals game was such a treat to see. Bengals bungled so damn hard just to keep themselves from their playoff spot.
That's why Myron Cope dubbed them the "Bungles"...talk about a "Burfict" ending to a game.
