Ship customization has been in the game for a while. This is changing the way that the space stations look from all being the same to being different.

This game is the comeback of the century. Respect to Hello Games ❤
True they really came through over the years every time a major update comes out I always comeback to no man’s sky
After the absolutely abysmal Starfield experience I had, I look forward to coming back to this game I haven’t touched since release. Thankyou HelloGames for sticking to your guns and doing more than enough to make up for the past ❤
You are in for quite the shock if you haven't experienced any of the previous updates, not even the first basebuilding one. It's not farfetched to say that NMS is almost a completely different game compared to what it was seven years ago.
easily the best space... game out there nowadays, lets be honest. nothing thats actually released or finished even comes close
You've missed out on a lot of expeditions... I missed the first few also...
These two games aren't even in the same genre.
@@Mephilis78 they're both games about flying your starship in space... And mining rocks, a lot. Not that hard to connect the dots from there
You see this? That's how space traversing is done right, Mr Howard

Ship customization? Finally! Thank you Hello Games, looking forward to Light No Fire!
One of the few games I'm not on the fence to pre order
Will lnf have vr support like nms or no?
@@replitzitwe know very little about it rn
dragon customization in that LOL
yeah i'm def looking forward to that one since i'm not really big on sci-fi but i respect the f*ck out of hello games for what they have achieved over the years.
Hello Games is hands down the hardest working studio in the world. Mad props to you folks!
Yeah. Developers of the Star Citizen project should learn how to make games from a small Hello Games studio.
No man stat citizen is great I can't wait for it to release in 2038
@@gordonshumway888 NMS is a great game, but does not try to meet even 10% of the challenges SC does. As a start its multiplayer is broker based p2p. What you are saying is just like "they should learn from Elite dangerous, they did their multi so easy". It's an ignorant comparison stemming from complete lack of understanding of how fundamentally different those games are as distributed system architectures.
Just casually delivering ship customization as secondary feature.
Even though this small development studio had a difficult start with No Mans Sky, they never gave up on the game. What the developers have done with it is incredible. You guys are just great. Compliments to all the employees and thank you for this great game. Greetings from Germany.
It's difficult to understand how there can still be people who don't accept the extraordinary work that has been done on this game over all these years. Absolute respect for HG who did not abandon his project.
They still haven't delivered what was promised. The demos that he showed before the game was released have creature variety and other things that are still missing
@@robaustin_ And here you go. The "They didn't deliver what they promised" crowd, coming in as if it's still 2017.
For every feature you can list that are "missing", I can probably list you at least 2 or 3 that was never promised to begin with. So maybe just accept some features got canceled for better ones.
And I can tell you've never played the game. There's lots of creature variety. Not enough for the billions of planets sure, but it's also nowhere close to being bad.
To me it's difficult to understand why there are still people who don't pick NMS for Labor of Love every year. It appears some folk just don't treasure what they have sadly
they just trolls
Pretty colors don't do it for me, procedure generated shallow planets, I shouldn't need to watch videos on how to find online people and never seen a single online player playing this game in the world at the same time as me, or maybe because people today have no great expectations. Ship mechanics for piloting ships is slow clunky and and non responsive for the first 5 sec delay is horrible.
"More will follow" hits harder every time.
I think it means "More info will follow" but I get your feeling :D
So true
@Damdebase As someone who's been here since before the beginning I am pretty confident they mean more updates will follow every time. Now it's just a tradition that they continue to say it. With the surprise first big free update that included base building they said it sort of as a way to say they were going to be supporting the game further pretty sure.
@@Damdebase
How to lose a hard on
I hope bug fixes will be one of those things. Certain more basic mechanics are in desperate need.
Every new update looks so promising, but I'm still holding on until a 10-year anniversary edition to pick it up. You know they're going to make it, it's only 2 years off from now!
wow this is actually insane, i've wanted ship customization for years but I never thought they would do it, what an amazing surprise!!!
I love how even a years after this game came out it still feels like a new game in some ways every few years.
I start a new game every time because there's always new shit start to finish😂
And we STILL don't have any predatory microtransactions in this game. They've been funding these massive content updates through game sales alone.
all their updates are insane. but i wonder, how they generate money, too keep up the work. Anyone who wanted to play No Man's Sky has already bought it months or even year(s) ago.
anyways... great work!
@Warlord85 i assume it comes down to it being a small team and the fact that the sales over the years probably more than paid for years of their salaries. Plus it always seemed like a passion project for them too. And being privately owned there are no investors or board members demanding higher returns.
Yeah they just started off predatory by scamming people claiming things would be in the game and taking years to add those things and people for some reason still suck it up@@xxfalconarasxx5659
Starship customization was the one thing I’ve been waiting for since the game launched, great to see it finally here!
S tier profile pic
The absolute madmen finally did it
I concur, however… I will be sad to lose the feeling of having and discovering a ship you’ve been hunting for a while and exhilarating lift of EUREKA!
It's a double edged sword. To fans of customisation it's great. You can make anything you want.
For fans of exploration. It's another thing that's been butchered. Ship hunting is now dead. Exploration has one less thing and its already struggling. There's no payoff.. just another thing that caters to everybody all of the time.
@@jtenka619 Definitely a valid worry but it looks like exploring for new ships still matters to get new looks and parts to change out. So you can either change ships by finding them or be excited to have new things to add to your favorite. Plus I bet some looks are only applicable on certain model bases so I'm pretty confident exploring for ships isn't gutted
Man that's such a nice update. Thank you for all the amazing work the team has put in all these years. The game just keeps getting better and there's just no shortage of places to see, things to do and photographs to take.
such astounding work by these guys, always looking forward to their updates
SHIP CUSTOMIZATION... That could been it's own update but NMS put it as the second feature haha. Crazy devils you did it and we love you for it!
This is outstanding, you can tell NMS is a passion project for HelloGames and not a money making scheme. I'm really hopeful for Light No Fire and I'm sure HG is going into with all the experience they've gained from NMS.
Barely Saying a thing about it is the first
Yeah I'm hyped for the new game too!

Definitely a passion project. I couldn’t agree more. You can just feel the love as you play. Light No Fire has me insanely excited.
@@guitarosothe main issue with nms launch is it was talked about too much so people had unrealistic expectations its better that they aren't talking about it much
ANOTHER ONE?! Guys it becomes increasingly more difficult to express the sheer AMOUNT of respect and gratitude we have for you 😭❤
Absolutely Amazing. From a wreck at launch to how you turn around a game and out deliver to your loyal fans. THIS is how game development and integrity are done! Well Done Hello Games! Well Done! Best Regards and Best Wishes!
You know what ?
I was one of the hardest hater of the game in the launch day. So hyped for nothing.
I tought than the game was buried, but after one, two, three update, i was happy than the devs, try to turn the tide unlike many others studios who just bury the games and pass on another project.
And now
We are here, nearly a decade later, and you still continu to work on the project. With news expedition who are always news, with no repetition, new content (than we dont even know than we need) and always free.
I cant say without a doubt than its the best game in the world, but i can say than YOU are the best dev team in the world.
I know 0 others studio who have work this hard to making the game better.
I can only says thanks for your work ❤❤❤
to be fair, you should check Grinding Gear Games' Path of Exile and Path of Exile 2, both free
but yes, HG is up there with them imho.
Yea, there isn't a lot of studio/companies that can proudly say "10 years later, we're still releasing new content for free !"
Aside from Valve, SCS Software and BeamNG, I don't really know who does that. Most of the big ones are profit driven.
@@Tideroo Hello games is also profit driven. however they only have 26 employees and have made enough money to pay their salaries for 80 years as of 2023.

But the Escape From Tarkov Team does the same :D
This right here is why NMS gets my Labor of Love vote every year and will continue to do so. Honestly i would've been happy with just the stations but ship customization (finally) just blows my mind after generating seeds for so long.

Wow that's awesome, thanks for continuing to work on this epic game
I said this before, and i will keep saying it again and again: I will never stop voting for NMS as "Labor of Love" - the amount of work and passion is poured in this game is incredible.
Thank you HG!
No Man's Sky is the redemption arc of a generation.
And the shock of the previous generation. 😅 I'm an angry millennial who just want to play what he bought in 2016, but I can't because the original version is not officially available nor supported. :(
When I was younger, "iteration" was done before the game would be released. Now, devs keep "iterating" and "finishing" after the release. 🧓
At this rate that might actually become true, since the appear to still be redeeming
Thank you for the continuous improvement of this masterpiece 😊
Amazing as allways. Ive been waiting so long for space ship customisation.
The upgrade nobody thought possible. All we need now is an update to improve the creatures.
I bought your game the day it came out and I've never regretted my purchase. And when I see what's become of the game... You've done a hell of a job, it's really incredible. Well done!

Combat could use a little re work and add some population to the hubs and settlements imo other than that the game is fun.
You just casually drop a trailer for custom ships, something that people have been asking for since day 1, and then walk back off into the shadows!?
No, you come back here so I can kiss you!
people have also been asking for variety in space stations
@@TabalugaDragon True, and I had been hoping for an update to them for a while, but ship customization is the number one item fans have been asking for. Well, most fans. Some hate the idea, the poor fools.
I'm here since D1, I was one of those who farmed Vortex Cubes when they were gold... Thank you for giving us the ultimate space exploring game!
And the Debutante track is so good! That music + video combo sold me preorder and now I wanna play it again!
This game released in 2016. They haven’t charged a single dime for an update yet. Just amazing.
I spent about $400+ on it ... buying collector's edition tin alpha vector, vinyl soundtrack, playstation edition for the comic (I don't have a playstation), and later I bought it again on steam (originally bought on GoG) because steam was getting some updates sooner at the time...
@@Kryojenix Well but thats on you tho, you simply bought the game multiple times. but as DLC and microtransactions they don't exist on this game. Good on you for supporting them tho it's the reason why they can do such cool updates
@@Kryojenix I bought the PC collector's edition and at the time was super disappointed. The model has fingerprints in the paint and ironically the ship you get for the PC preorder isn't the same one as the one on the statue. The PC preorder ship is kinda ugly, NGL, wish it matched what Playstation preorders got. Going to have to see if I can customize it now...
To be fair, the reason they can afford to patch the game without charging extra is because they lied so hard and sold millions of dollars worth of copies at release (copies that wouldn't have sold had they been honest about what it actually was). They had more than enough money to then turn around and put in the work they should have done BEFORE selling the product. Kind of like an early access model, but with swindling instead of transparency. While I'm glad they turned it around over time, let's not pretend like they're doing this out of the kindness of their hearts, or at great personal cost to themselves. The only way anyone would ever trust them enough to buy future games was if they did all of this. These updates are a business necessity for them, and still welcome from the people who gave them their money so many years ago.
Not so much. If you do your research, it was pushed out the door early by Sony.@@CarefulCrow

Don’t tempt me
@@Dark-qx8rkOne obstacle for this is that NMS saves data on the local machine and it is pretty easy to edit, so they would probably have to put in some sort of system to have stuff bound to your account instead of just the individual saves. But that seems pretty feasible
Ever since Starfield came out, I wished No Man's Sky had their Ship Builder system. While not the same, ITS SO BEAUTIFUL, OH MY GOD. THANK YOU.
Starfield's ship builder system is the only thing I want out of Starfield. I hope a better game picks it up.
The ship builder is the only halfway fun aspect of the entire game. And it's still anemic, limited and well behind its potential. A half baked feature really.
Little Hello Games here is putting Bethesda to absolute shame with their dedication and passionate support of their product. Makes one realize how big a failure of a space game Starfield really is and how far Bethesda has sunk as a developer.
@@axelhopfinger533Bethesda is literally a bunch of devs that have experience but no skill and build their games around mechanics they saw in another game 10 years ago. What’s so bad is they have some innovative concepts and features, but they’re either completely broken, implemented extremely poorly, or have exactly 2.4% of their actual potential realized.
@@NotWorthTheAirIBreathe Actually, with the recent Microsoft acquisition, all the senior devs with experience have left the company. So they now have neither devs with experience nor skill. Which is why nothing seems to be happening with Starfield. And the few semi-competent devs they might still have are probably busy with ES6. Not that i would have high hopes for that.

If we can one day actually enter our ships interior and have them be dwellings/labs/whatever you want, that would leave my mouth dropped!
I had no idea that there was an update planned. My last save was in a Desolate System without a space station. So, you can imagine how surprised I was, the moment I warped into a populated system and went to the new and improved space station! :)
I think there is no other game that made such a journey and improvements. Its just the perfect chill simulator and i come every year back to play it many hours to see what is new. No Mans Sky Player since the first hour
I was hoping for ship Editor! Another great Job hello games! Highly appreciate your work on nms.
OH MY GOD! I was worried if you eventually gave Ship Customization it would ruin the partial joys of hunting, but this still incentivizes the Coordinate Exchange and finding wrecks! Masterfully done!
Thank you, thank you, thank you for keeping up with these updates. You have me as a fan for life!
The patch notes said the super charge slots on a ship would change based on which space station you did it at. So, now you have to hunt space stations as well as ships!
NO MANS SKY KEEPS GETTING BETTER
WOW!!! That is Amazing! I have been hoping for an update on the stations for a while but this is even better than I thought it could be. Incredible dedication to this game has made history and shows just how much a dev team can do for games they actually care about.
Now all I want is a on planet combat update.
Like imagine how cool it would be to add security to our settlement. Like being able to arm some settlers or build ground to air defenses for pirate attacks.
Imagine how cool it would be to call in reinforcements from your settlement if you start getting attacked by sentinels on a different planet.
AFTER ALL THESE YEARS WE FINALLY GOT SHIP CUSTOMIZATION
Its not explicitly stated, but it seems apparent that you can now change your ship within a space station.

The Anomaly now looks like a small shack compared with these new stations =P
They look fantastic but I feel a bit nostalgic already for the old space stations... my fondest memory in game was, after spending a few hours learning and exploring on a deserted planet, looking up in awe to those warping fleets and cruising starships... finally reaching the space station and meeting other beings... even with all the ship clipping, the old stations had a nice dystopian, silent mystery vibe to them.
Thank you HG for an unforgettable game
I remember when "The Anomaly" WAS a small shack!🤣
I wonder if they are going to start stacking station types based on the class or tier of the system. I.e. abandoned and pirate systems get original stations, perhaps sized up a little bit, Tier 1 systems get the "now old" stations, Tier 2 systems and 'above' get the new expanded stations. I still think they can easily expand the Space Anomaly simply by extending off to the right in that window between Helios and Aries. The great thing about Greek mythology is that there's a lot more characters they can make iterations of.
In sort of answers, I don't expect that the abandoned and pirate systems will get upgraded space stations. But if someone tells me Tethis has a new space to tinker on his Construct...
