- No Man's Sky ORBITAL is here! While it's biggest headline features, new space stations and starship building, are certainly impressive, the rest of the update is also worthy of attention. From the plethora of new frigate expedition features to the new guild and faction mechanics, I'm sharing my favorite overlooked features from NMS' 2024 Orbital update.

I was exploring the new Space Stations Yesterday when suddenly I finally discovered my very first Squid Ship with the exact color scheme I was looking for! I lost it but none of my friends play so I'm posting it here....
If you remember the system you can go back and wait for another to land
Yeah just hang out in that station, hop in and out your ship and reload the save every now and then, it will come back. If you are lucky its a first-wave and will come in every time you restart, you can wait for one with better stats and cargo space.
Or post up at a trade station planet-side. Ships come and go way quicker at a trade post so you can maximize your ship hunt odds.
Especially in Pirate systems. S class ships tend to spawn more frequently at trade posts in pirate systems. And you will see more Solar models than what stops in the space station.

Then use ad blockers with a white list. The internet is too spammy to traverse unprotected
No wonder why Frigate Fleet Missions are overlooked. I haven't had any of the new interactions since the update came out.
They do seem relatively uncommon. Hopefully that means we won't burn out on them any time soon! Thanks for watching.
@@Kanaju No worries. Enjoyed my entertainment so far with the new update. Never been more excited to return yet again to No Man's Sky. I literally feel like I have repeated myself more with that statement every time a new update comes out with this game. Give it like a couple of weeks more and I will burn out... now I think about it. Might be a lot longer than my sassy sleep deprived brain thought. I like the ads that you have made bro. I play as a black and green Gek. 😅
@tctt185_dg they always get me back playing for a good while.
But the one thing I really want, is own spacestations, so you can build them like the ships and deploy them in empty systems to make them livable. Choosing the ressources you go for and maybe even which race you want to have th3re.
@@Kanaju I suspect the idea is that they did not want too many players to think "I just want to [build a base/complete a guild quest/get to the next Atlas terminal/whatever], stop calling me every five minutes!"
I wish there was some way to increase interactions. Like you could call and check up on them
I understood that last part, Frigate commanders, instead of themselves, will send their first lieutenants to go to your Freighter. If you have a large enough "technology" room, (scanner, trade terminal, fleet nav rooms, appearance customizer, and just general technology room expansions) they'll be among the NPCs wandering about the open area.
I actually redid my freighter base and I even noticed that as well. I got a bunch of folks wandering my base and it makes the freighter feel so much more lively.
Sounds like you don't know, so:
Condensed Stellar Ice, a Space Encounter, also awards Quicksilver a lot of the time. If you find a system that has this space encounter then it's a great way to grind loads of Quicksilver.
Have they upped the payout?
If its like a grand per encounter then thats totally worth the time.
However... you can just spend quicksilver, gift a player something and reload, and you get the stuff and all the quicksilver back.

You could actually see your frigates on the map before those update, although the icon that displays them changed
I'm praying on a future update, they'll allow players to have access to owning their own space stations. And from there to utilize the codes that they have from Base building on Freighters towards these commandeered space stations. When I first entered the renovated space stations, they had removed the side rooms. I was very disappointed in that. However, I hope they will allow players to commandeer these stations so that the players can build their own rooms. That would be fantastic!
I would also, love to see in the future updates, that they would use the codes from displaying exercise towards feeding stations for companions. Cuz sometimes, we like to show off our extended families two other players.
And getting some more Emoji cons added to the Quiksilver store would be cool too.
yep i have always wanted this, and more freighter stuff like pvp in them and docking them to space stations
Within the Anomaly, the duo of Gemini and Hesperus now occasionally give you items. I've haven't heard anyone mention that yet.

I wish they would make the backgrounds in all systems much darker. Completely black for about 75% of them. And very very dark colored backgrounds for the rest. It just looks auper weird having a bright colored background in space to me.
HG finally fixed the flickering lights on freighter bases with the new lighting system.
When on space stations, there are numerous containers and servers that are not properly locked down that you can gain units from. You can pick them out by having red lights rather than blue lights. It's a tiny amount, but every little bit can count when you need some cash.

I've started playing for the first time since I dropped it during the disastrous launch. What a massive improvement! I hadn't realised so many of the features I have been enjoying were from such a recent update!

Yes- he’s a graphic designer as his main job.
Being able to swap ships inside the stations is game changing for ship scrappers.
The free goodies from the guild at every stop is nice too.
And the space stations look so amazing... I went back and watched early NMS vids and holy crap, have they ever stepped it up.
Its a pretty unlikely hope... but I hope HG upgrades settlement appearance now too. And Derelict Freighters.
I have been meaning to go back on my PS4 to see how unplayable it is now 😂 cus before all these high-detail graphical updates and changes... it looked like pixelated jittery hell 😂😂😂.
I'm on PS5 but mostly stick to the PS4 version of the game cause I love to play it on VR, and I haven't gotten the new headset yet.
Even with the SSD, the PS4 game barely loads any textures compared to the PS5 app, it just isn't optimized very well. It performs better on VR, but outside of it everything looks like it's made out of play dough.

Wow. I had no idea about the frigate update. That's awesome! Should have probably read the patch notes but I kind of like being pleasantly surprised by new experiences in NMS. I got this game when it dropped but left it for a considerable time after it got very monotonous. Went back off and on but have been heavily back into it since the Leviathan Expedition. It is absolutely unrecognizable from it's origin. So good.
Once I understood and learned how to use the Trade Routes, I am always using it. I had my frigate expedition contact me twice. Once they asked me to come help them in battle, and the other to ask me for advice on how to proceed. I missed that it was noted in the expedition notes I will have to pay attention to see that. They also have come to help me in a battle I encounter usually a freighter battle, but 1 time also when I was doing a guild pirate sequence destruction quest.
For a next update. It would be cool if they made it so that you could take your frigate members on the planet with you. Or you could send them to different planets to explore.

Great video. Time for my all-too-common personal dilemma... whether to continue my save that I started circa 2019 or start over and suffer the slow early game but awesome transition from early game to mid game.

You really designed those ads? Very nice. I noticed markers on the port and starboard sides leaving the space station increase in value of the closer you get to the exit. Is that yours too?
to this day it has no real syncs multiplayer where every player in your group shares everything they experience with others in the group, even when they are at the exact same spot and look in the same direction.

Nothing new that made me want to play the game any longer than looking at the new eye candy. Need a complete revamp of guild missions, player economy, PVP player guild battles would be awesome. Player guilds... for previously mentioned battles.

I think it would be VERY cool if they introduced more derelict freighter stuff to the frigates would be cool!
Like for example, the captain of a frigate sends a distress signal, yiu investigate, and the ship has been taken over by pirates! you now havr to evacuate the remaining crew to a new freighter for be extraction.
Other things frigates asked me to do: Translate alien message to make a business decision, Asking for extra funds to make an investment.
We NEED a city update. Or the ability to make bases livelihood by rescuing stranded lost villagers. I mean Roleplay stuff.

I think surges are more lucrative than raiding fleets in outlaw systems now.
Instead of just buying from space stations, you can also use the economy scanner to find a trade outpost and buy even more of the goods for cheaper, then when you're done, you sell everything at a trade outpost in the surging system. I managed to get 100M in 3 hours that way.

@WiseOwl_1408 Just because a player has uploaded a base doesn’t mean they’ve uploaded the planet discovery to the servers. Maybe you should consider changing your tag to something more appropriate.

What HG overlooked was giving xbox users a color pallet with ship customization.
they just need to keep on adding NEW resources and rewards, new aliens, new things to forage, scan for treasure, overhaul procedural variation to crystals, alien flora, exocrafts, new planets, not the same planets that have the same resources on them, even though the planet is different I want the resources to be different too. They add all this new stuff but its the same rewards.

Where is the ship?I have been collecting items for two years.I never knew that you are supposed to leave the planet.I can’t find any of the items I need after two years of walking all over the planet.How do I get off the ground with this game.I hate spending fifty dollars for a game that is too hard to play.Please help.
They give you a few marks and an explanation of what you need to get at the start. I'd suggest watching a playthrough of the tutorial. If you're struggling that bad, you can even start a new game and make crafting free. So then you don't need to gather any resources.
Trade surges are worthless. Get units you have nothing to spend on. Units are pretty much worthless after a few hours of game play. You'll have billions of worthless units by just playing the game. Everything ends up giving you worthless units.
All you're talking about is cosmetics and a bunch of junk what I want is more lore and more missions with the lore I have over 2 billion dollars and I'm sure you probably have more who cares about trading junk for money

It’s in the same place where you get other base parts. I’ve gotten them on two or three different saves. So were you add more building types, get chairs and couches, one of those screens will have all the new base parts from the space stations good luck!
