I can't measure up to the John duo. Couple of weeks ago I was in hospital and I couldn't tell what time of day it was. Oi vei. Great and sadly a sobering livestream. But don't give up hope as every day you fight oppression oppression hasn't won.

ps. Small statistic from 15 years ago:
After the 2008 crash & the following Panama Papers, I went deep into that rabbit hole.
Turns out that tax havens at that time held something like 18-22 TRILLION dollar in these off-shore accounts, being taxed 0%
This is 15 years ago.
Why do I know this?
At the time I was working for a financial department of a big multinational that, after the Panama Papers came out, decided to transpose their 13(!) off-shore accounts into 3 on-shore accounts. Still only paying 1% through deals with different governments, btw. So, there is some inside info and a lot of online looking up & connecting the dots & readings etc.
Power corrupts.
We see this in all these populist movements.
All these "useful idiots" are being seduced by autocraties, since it promises them 15 minutes of Power.
And I agree with the "against big government, big companies": Regions are far more capable to organise than artificial borders or, even worse, borderless entities (except for the UN: Lovely quote - The weakness of the UN ís its strength)

Operator Starsky is leaving the military to begin an Institute for the Study of Propaganda. He’s doing this with the Ukrainian government’s blessing, because they see the need to be able to understand the methods and learn how to counter or clearly debunk ruSSian propaganda and misinformation. I think he’s got a couple other things in mind as well down the road, but he and Ukraine are seeing the need to better fight this ridiculous propaganda. 💙🇺🇦💪🏽

I grew up during the cold war and I have to say looking back, that I consider Putin's Russia to be a greater threat than the Soviet Union was. The Soviet Union was not as openly expansionist as the Russian Federation is and the politburo to an extent kept each other in check. Putin has no one acting as a brake on his wilder fantasies.

Yes, it was ruSSian. I studied ruSSian in high school and university. I’m learning Ukrainian now, to try and replace the ruSSian language in my brain! But the bottom line is, poutine is stirring up trouble in very many countries around the world. He is trying to distract the world from Ukraine, so he can get away with taking it. If he has any level of success, he will use it as a platform to build on taking more and more. He must be soundly defeated, and sadly most of the world does not understand what a threat he really is!

although I was drinking some stella while watching this I just want to point out alcohol stifles innovative thinking. So I don't do it much. Listening to John, a 17 stone "philosopher" mixing up going to the pub with philosophising I just cannot agree. To me philosophising is a lot of waffling but it is also something that needs a little bit of advanced insight that most average workaholics do not possess. Going to the pub and talking about philophy is one thing but will one make the same valid conclusions? I don't think so. I feel like cannabis is far more conducive to innovative thinking, philosophising and making new observations. Unfortunately as you know cannabis is illegal yet generally seen as a quite safe medicine in the rest of the world. Alcohol causes liver damage, causes black ice slip injuries, dementia, obesity, diabetes alzheimers and also a condition I call alcohol related retardness.

He says "because they are muslims and because they are brown" in reference to Syrians. That is racist. Does he know that one of the most populated parts of Syria in the north west was a viking colony once. I work with and for these people in Germany. Many have blue eyes and most of them have much lighter skin than I have and I am of cornish/ celtic descent. They are not brown by any stretch of the imagination. In fact Mr Sweeny could walk down the highstreet in Hama or Damascus and nobody would know that he is a foreigner. Particularly after 2 months standing around for 2 weeks under the sun.
