I could see the Boeing joke coming from a mile away but still chuckled when it landed (safely).
I came here to say say this but seen that its already been said. Say'd . Sed. It's sed for sure
It's all just jokes until ya remember you've got to fly across the country soon, then back....... At least that's where I'm at.
@laalaa99stl Bravo! Your comment has blown a (w)hole new (tail)spin into the L2 Lagrange point of comedy 😙👌
@@MajorHenryL They deserve what they are getting, but flying is very safe compared to other forms of transport
Did it go "boeing" when it landed?
An orange toddler star misbehaving & expecting everything to revolve around it.
I designate thee "DJT-01".
The Sun - "im bored, im bored, im bored, im bored" 😂😂😂
You would be too if you've been doing the same thing since forever...
@@Axolotl_Mischief that's why it was funny! 😂
Are we there yet? Are we there yet?
We almost lost Cobert, so happy he is still here after his medical event!!!
Boeing? No, Boing. The sound a door plug makes when it lands in your back yard.
Actually pronounced Bow-ing. I live in Wichita, KS where Boeing is headquartered and know first hand how it’s said. (Not that it really matters. 😆)
I love the headlines on the alien’s newspaper! 🤣🤣
The Galactic Council reminds all visitors to the third planet in the solar system to remain inconspicuous. 🖖
One of the most important rules in conspiracy theories is "lack of evidence *is* evidence".
@@artbargra If it's Metroids, we're f$%*ed.
Sure we know, it’s just, the earthlings are easily startled, and they sometimes catch me off guard when I’m not in my skinsuit.😑
@@RuthBhmand Hahaha! Surely you meant to type "suit", fellow human internet friend! We humans are encased in skin throughout our mortal lives, as you clearly have momentarily forgotten! Huzzah for the epidermis!
Space-tula. It was right there. 😂
That's why they left it where it was.
NASA taking 4 months to unscrew two screws makes me feel better about myself
Asteroid sample...yuck nickel was too clever 😂
Sad to hear about Ingenuity. But I read somewhere that it was originally set to only run 4-5 missions and it ran over 70! Pretty awesome if you ask me.
I checked. 5 flights were expected. --Wikipedia
It joins a distinguished line of NASA Mars exploration bots lasting much longer than anticipated. Pathfinder lasted nearly 3 months when it was planned to last a month tops, the Spirit rover lasted over 6 _years_ (planned for 90 days), its sister Opportunity lasted for over _14_ years (also planned for 90 days), Curiosity is still active (2-year mission starting late 2012), Ingenuity completed 72 flights out of 5 planned, and Perseverance is coming up on its 3-year anniversary on Mars on the 18th.
@@jlighter1 And let us not forget the granddaddies of "lasting longer than planned", the Voyager probes.
You have to over-engineer stuff you send on these missions to be absolutely sure it will work. If everything isn’t 99.9% reliable, *something* is going to go wrong. So they design a rover with a minimum expected lifespan of 90 days if things go badly. When things don’t go wrong, it lasts for 5,250 days before it gives out.
Boy, that segment went over like a lead Chinese spy balloon.
Way out of my orbit.
Colbert wasn't feeling it which doesn't help. But normally it does really well.
I kept getting distracted 🙃
The Grafics... 😂
luv this Chat...
From SW Ohio
Stays Safe... ❤
Right? Sometimes it feels there is no crowd in that studio
It was like his own version of Surprise Inspection, another thing Boeing could use
The Late Show during the Colbert era has had consistently superb bands.
Orbital Creep is definitely the name of my new death metal band.
Lol, somebody has been on a road trip with children.
I was sad seeing Jon go, but Louis has really taken the band leader role as his own, he's doing great
I noticed the cowboy hat wearing drummer has been replaced, too.
I like his No TV answer, while on TV. He's right though, he's just saying what we all know.
What are you giving up for Lent, Louis? Television. Wow. Did he know he was on Television?
I miss Jon, too. And hope he's doing well. Louis is a worthy successor. He's amazing.
@@Drew-bc7zjI noticed that too. I know Jon's wife had cancer, and I think he went to spend more time with her.
It's true what they say "a stuck bolt turns a 5 minute asteroid sample collection, into a 4 month ordeal"
Wasn't it Pharoah Rameses II who first said that?
Best in late night. makes me laugh out loud and feels great.
I am giving up lint, on lent.
Impossible lol
My girlfriend and I - in jr high - used to give up sweaters for lint every year. One year in high school, I gave up Cheetos.
@@user-yn7yo1co3k EWWW! Too tastey to give up.
As long as it's not giving up lentils on lent. Yum.
CBS budget really does not disappoint.
This has the " Whammy " feel if you can remember that game show.
"BIG MONEY! NO WHAMMY'S.. ...STOP!"
It was last on a couple of weeks or so ago
I always say "Big money no whammies" and don't think anybody has ever known what I was referring to lol
Press your Luck was the name.
‘Five out of five comets clean using comet’ 🤣
I had a pet I discovered one night,
clinging to life in a meteorite.
My old aquarium, once cleaned and dried,
gave it a sunshiny place to reside.
I was perplexed about what it might eat.
Luckily it seemed to flourish on meat.
Finding its kind on the web drew a blank.
Meanwhile it rapidly outgrew its tank.
It got so big that eventually
mercy compelled me to set my pet free.
Later I heard in my daily news fill:
"Teenagers missing from Shaggalot Hill." 🤔😧
Now that's a conspiracy... one that is not a theory
Fake news said so,
So it is said....
So.....
The graphics department had a field day for this segment.
After Midnight is so much fun!
Yes!
I loved the graphics for space news. I could watch those all day.
The graphics department really outdid themselves this episode LOL
Bean Meat😂
Please, please, please keep all the uhhhmmm Space News segment, segment intros (or whatever the hell they are called.) The fact that Stephen ever reacted to them at all is priceless given that you know he has an option...probably a strong one I'm guessing.. and yet...nothing "phased" him as he went from item to item.
*fazed
Joke went over your head @@TheGreatAtario
Australia's Qantas built it's reputation as the safest airline on Boeing planes with no crashes to date in the jet era. I hope they can clean up their act
hmmm... Things that make you go hmm...
Let's give three cheers to the graphics dept.! Good job!
I gave up network TV ages ago. I watch this stuff here on RUclips.
I've lived in the country without TV reception since 1988. I have a TV that I used for VHS tapes and then DVDs so I could watch movies. Once I got internet service beyond dial-up I have been able to watch RUclips for the news and shows like this. I still don't stream anything though. Some of us still live this way.
When they were first calibrating the WEBB, they thought they found a rare puckered star, but it turned out to be Uranus
hilarious
The space news animator is doing a great job.
I’m so sad they didn’t know anything about “Ghosts”, such a good show!
Same! I came here to say, I'm a little disappointed that hosts, like Stephen, will screen a new movie, read from their book, etc before a guest's appearance, but he didn't even watch an episode (or clips!) before Danielle's appearance?
Aliens: did not know humans are this evil.
Toddler suns, or Trump suns. Same thing.
Great graphics!
//SPACE NEWS UPDATE//Alan has a new job, playing the harmonica for the beginning introduction to SPACE NEWS .
We love your show stephen colbert
"If it's Boeing, I ain't going"...
Good job little chopper.
Sound of those UFOs speeding away is hilarious. They sound just like an accelerating EV. 😅
I’m eating lucky charms right now lol
Boeing, Boeing, gone.
Just another day of Stephen slowly getting annoyed with the graphics department. 😅
5:40 omg nailing to good
Considering that the Japanese moon lander landing upside down is last month's news (it flipped itself upright a couple of days later), shouldn't that be Space OLDs, rather than News?
They probably forgot to show it before. I was gonna joke about it and say the parts came from Australia.
LOL.
I haven't heard Boing for thirty years!
> THIS SPACE RESERVED
Sooo ,Aliens wear fedoras ?
Hipster aliens. :D I bet they listen to space ska!
i wish we could see full performances from the band.
That means everyone that watched the Super Bowl believe aliens are among us
After "Orbital Creep" you missed an opportunity to make a Radiohead joke.
Thank you for explaining astrophysics to us.
I love Space News!!!!!
Have you considered bringing back Space Ghost Coast to Coast to co-host on Space News? I mean he also has the alien and the metal guy for additional content
I came, I saw, I was mildly amused.
Ah! Astronomers say! For the hyperactive star! My friend is astronomers! She did research on that one! Mad props, Peri!
[2:01] Stephen without TV makeup. Great graphics throughout!
That NASA Mars drone survived longer then they thought it would.
Frick yeah graphics!!
Never good when one of the people on your TV show is giving up TV shows for lent.
This band kicks ass!!
Good show 🎉
Props to the graphic designers
Yo yo yo! That LAST JOKE! UNH UH A NAME and A GRAPHIC does not a punchline make!!!!?
Damn he fucksd up, give up tv when your on a tv show 😂
I thought the orbital creep punchline was going to be Musk or Bezos.
Ah, yes. Now I know who the celebrity alien is. A Martian potato farmer if I'm not mistaken.
Happy Mardi Gras ❤!
Always interesting that what pays your salary "tv" is what you would give up 😬
The truth is hidden in plain sight 👽 lol
Happy grass Colbert
Interestingly, I didnt even knowthat Colbert was on CBS,
I only know him from RUclips 😂😂
❤ the space
SPACE NEWSSSS
The Dark Forest theory is a reason for why we should have weapons to defend us against extraterrestial life and at the very least comets and asteroids. They can be used for both you know
A bit surprised you didn't go from horseshoes to its natural partner "hand grenades". LOL
Matt Damon also qualifying as orbital creep?
There's no secret as to how they got the bolts on there so tight. They just took it to the closest oil change spot and asked if they could torque down a couple of drain plugs.
Lol, Rick
Space Spatula!
Those aliens are Skrulls. They’re already here.
Giving up TV means absolutely nothing with smartphones around. The internet is so much worse.
Stephen didn’t look too impressed with the Space Graphics.
I always treat my asteroids with Preparation-A..... ;-P
This went better than I expected. Too bad about ending on "Rick," though. Oof.
I bet that is the end of spaaace graaaphics. Brutal.
OMG, the extraterrestrial alien at 1:56 looks like "independent" counsel Robert Hur. 😮 His real name is Renjun Hur, but he gave himself the name "Robert" because he thinks he looks like Robert Downey Jr.
Love the show Ghosts!
I like the BBC version.
It's just the Village People of sitcoms, but less entertaining.
When I read Misbehavin Toddler Sun I was thinking of the sun in Teletubbies
Love Colbert and love the elements from Kilborns Late Late Show jokes, but CBS wont get Letterman-esque results from trying to mix them
Somebody's writers went to Mardi Gras celebration
Taylor always entertains
humour for hammerheads
Oh dawg... Bean meat? We all know what bean meat is. I just ever thought I'd hear that anatomical thing referred to like that 😭😭
Doesn't surprise me that it took this long for the food nomenclature industry to find this anatomical thing, though.
Stephen missed his chance to say Spacetula
Can't tell you how many times I've seen a cartoon of somebody reading a newspaper... and the *headline* is on the BACK page.
Boeing Boeing 7 0 7,Going Going straight up to Heavennnnnnn>>
