And if he wouldn't have taken an extra week off sick last year we'd also have the 100th Corrections on the same week as a leap day and the 10th anniversary all in one week, and chtulu would have risen to eat Mac Tonight's soul.

Tonight's show will tell whether it's just for POTUS (after all, he also wore a suit, when Letterman came for the general Late Night anniversary), but I could also imagine that he wears a suit for this week because it's the 10 year anniversary. Then next week it's back to casual.

Exactly. It deserved much more laughter, I thought it was hilarious. My mom’s German and we’re much closer to them than my dad’s side (we lived w/her family while he was in Vietnam in ‘70 (Naval officer))
Unfortunately it wasn't decriminalised, it was legalised with strict regulations. It's doubtful the goal of reducing the illicit trade will be achieved by this.
They could never attend a show with a title starting by "Late" though

I was concerned when they voted to make pot legal here in Alaska. I was in my mid 60's.
I've been smoking it since I was nineteen and was worried I wouldn't enjoy it as much if it was legal. I had nothing to worry about. Oops, gotta go, the cookies are ready😊.

The Trump "Mercedes" quote was probably him talking offstage to Mercedes Schlapp, someone from his administration who has been a part of his campaign. He's probably insane, but this specific oddity isn't a symptom.

Yes, but hopefully he keeps it reserved for special occasions. I like how this show doesn't make a spectacle of itself. I think it's what separates it from the rest of late night.
Plus, if you wear a suit every episode, then you basically have to get a tux to step it up when the president stops by.

I started learning Russian in 7th grade, went twice for 2mo. Something different about communication patterns and in 2016 I was picking up on Russian trolls on Twitter and shouting it from the rooftops. My friends were all "naaaaaah"... and I was right.
is there a conflation of the noun and adjective form of the word bias in russian? because one thing i note is that right wing posters often say something is "bias" which is a weird grammar accident that i see a LOT anymore. even less than stellar students like myself would know we say that things are biased(adjective) not bias(noun). a thing can show bias, but thats not how so many right leaning posters use the term.

It doesn’t help that here in the UK, we’re due an election this year, which feels very overdue, but because of the last one being at an odd time and the Conservatives being desperate, it technically could end up being January 2025. It’s hard work keeping track of two political car crashes you know, and I’m easily confused!!
