Late Night with Seth Meyers
/ latenightseth
The thing I love the most about Seth is that he isn't afraid to completely derail a joke to point out the absurdity of whatever is happening. It shows a level of self awareness, and gives a peek behind the scenes. If Seth is having fun and laughing at himself, so is the audience. It just works so well.
The show is unironically funnier when a joke bombs.
So true I love when he cracks himself up 😂
Seth is the Deadpool of late night.
@@deathlokprime2645 Totally agree he's the Good,Bad,& ugly of the JOKES but they work so freaking great for him.
Love the man just amazine stuff..👍😂😂
Imagine Donald Trump was president while America supports the genocide in Gaza. Seth would have something to say about it. Over 12000 children dead, and the only mention of it is that Biden calls Netanyahu ‘that guy’. Stop providing him with weapons then, war criminal Joe. Oh, but that dog bit was so funny.
Correction: Blue from Blue's Clues is a girl, not a boy. Just like Bluey!
I was scrolling for this correction.
Up vote on this, I came here to make sure 😂
Accurate!
THANK you!
I yelled: "Blue's a GIRL!" when Seth said it.
LOL.
They must not have wanted to draw 'all' of Blue if he was a boy lol.
Late Night with Seth Meyers is slowly morphing into the amazing vibe of 'Corrections', and I for one, am here for it!
I really expected Seth to mention each writer of a bad joke.
"Writer Inspection"
Seth: "You KNOW Scollins wrote that 'daughter's hot friend' joke!"
I said this out loud!
SCOLLINS!!!
@@VideoNozoki that was my first thought too - I love that we're getting to know his writers lol
I’ve heard of a “long walk” for a joke but the commitment at the end is the best one I’ve ever seen.
Man the vibe for the monologue tonight was just so great. Love the moments when Seth makes fun of jokes that don't land as well. [EDIT] And honestly the walk through the crowd made this a really exceptional Back in My Day.
I live for this! 🐾
Please give this show an Emmy
John Oliver just fuckin it up for everyone.😊
Agree 💯
I hear it's been nominated.
Lol
Daily Show won. John Oliver didn't get nominated
If that sturgeon Mary joke isn’t worth an emmy, nothing is.
Oh the jackals are gonna get you for saying blue’s clues is a boy 😂
I’m honestly hoping for a special edition of animal flubs for fictional animals…
That’s what I came here to say!
I was looking for this comment 😅
Came here to jackal
Dude, this comment makes YOU the jackal lol
I love that he breaks the 4th wall ... WITHOUT breaking the character's accent.
Seth: *casually saunters over to stage right*
Me: "Oh, hell yeah!"
CORRECTION: that's stage left. Left and right are from the perspective of the people on stage, not the audience.
Loved it! And did he plan the exit or did the old geezer just need a bathroom break for his enlarged prostate? JK Seth. You'll never get old!
Glad I'm not the only one. Whenever these happen I lose my mind.
@@zbeebs Here's your backstage card. ;)
@@zbeebs Now, that's the kind of pedantry I come here for! Anyone with a modicum of sophistication would be well aware that it's stage right, house left. Or stage left, house right, as the case may be.
fart
If there were a betting pool I would go with Scollins writing the "To my daughter's hot friend"
And he did it so Graphics would make one he could send to that hot friend.
I would take that bet!
Scollins clearly knew it was ex-husband night :P
Yeah but who is responsible for Sturgeon Mary?!
Definitely I hissed his name under my breath as soon as I heard it
I love how comfy and confident Seth has become on the show the last few years. I’m sure the pandemic format had a bit to do with it. I love seeing him improv/ seeing his comedic instincts play out in real-time 🤓
I think it was Corrections
I agree. I love that he slowed down a little bit when doing A Closer Look. His show has definitely become the one I watch first. ❤❤❤
I will never fully be able to put into words just how much I love this man.
It was the “self-reliance..hold this for me” that really got me
Same!
Yup!
CORRECTION: Rusty isn't a talking dog, he just barks like a normal dog. Seth just understands him.
Animal Flubs! 😀🐾
Wait, you didn’t understand Rusty? 🐾🐾
any dog that barks is a "talking" dog, just not in your language
I'd argue that, because they have conversational moments, he is talking. Just because you don't understand him doesn't mean he doesn't talk. Would you say that Chewbacca doesn't talk??
@@Orestes728 I mean, realistically you could use this logic for anyone from Alabama.
I love how Seth's "back in my day" is like 2-5 years ago.
Except for the Titanic submersible reference which was from just last year...
anyone else immediately say "SCOLLINS" after the valentine's day card joke? and think that matt goldich's new publicity photos looks somehow like sam the eagle?
Bahahahhahhha yes
I was think the final evolution of Rachel Maddow, Link, and now this guy.
I think I always know a Scollins joke
I DID say his name after that joke! 😂
I think that's the most unhinged bit I've seen Seth do and I'm up to date on corrections
I think Bird Bane might give that one a run for its money :)
@@kendraphillips5694 has good point- bird-bane ftw
The last 2.5 minutes of Back In My Day might be some of the best television footage ever recorded.
Agreed. I don't know what the heck that last 3 minutes was, but I'm all here for it!! Funny, cuz up to that point I was thinkin', "This isn't one of Seth's better 'Back in My Day' segments." Glad I hung in there cuz, as inane as those last 3 minutes were, it cracked me up
I think the irreverence of Corrections is bleeding into the main show and I am ALL for it. This is what puts Seth and his team above the rest of late night.
"Here, hold this for me." 😆
It is absolutely amazing
Certainly Seth's best ever acting performance. 😀
As a senior who is "riding the coat-tails" of my son's Pime account, I lauhed may butt off on the _Back in My Day_ set. God I love Seth -- great writers, perfect delivery.
"... Sully-burgers!!! If your emergency exit door ripped off..."😂❤
“Back In My Day,” made me cry laugh! I needed it so much. Thanks Mr Meyers!
Sooooo all of ya all going to check out at 30. None of you of want to grow older at all ? You going to check out at 30? 50? You have a plan? Do none of you want to grow older?

Over 12000 children dead, and the only mention of it is that Biden calls Netanyahu ‘that guy’. Stop providing him with weapons then, war criminal Joe. Oh, and if you thought that last segment was funny, you should check out actual comedy - you might like it.
Seth I agree the sturgeon Mary was comedy gold, that setup, and the fact that stingray had the immaculate conception and got impregnated by Cod is a miracle
I died lol
You are all going to hell.
Well done
I really hope that graphic comes back in corrections lol 😂
I think you mean 'the immackerelate conception'
I have to say the last segment was top notch. That delivery was Oscar worthy at the end Seth! 😁
Seth meandering into the audience during Back In My Day is now my favorite version of Our Town.
this is an underrated comment
The fourth wall break is perfect 🤣
I'd be willing to bet that's true about big words coming up on the teleprompter. 😂😁
I love the way Seth went RIGHT into inmate po1135809's voice, too: "uhh.."
I love Seth's ad-libs when a joke bombs!😊
Genuinely the reason jokes Seth can't tell gets more views is because it has amber and Jenny. When you put Amber and Jenny in a segment with you the chemistry between the three of you is just unmatched.
Just like when Stephen Colbert has Evie on.
Seriously had a terrible day, and this was the thing that just makes everything better. Love this show!
Hope your evening is better than your day!😊 And tomorrow will be amazing!😊
Agree‼️
right there with you, boss.
Sorry about your day.
Larry calling you for the Peacock password had me rolling.
I was waiting for Larry to be in the audience 😂
@@kmksmith1935I thought he would be on the other side of the stage door! 😅
Oh my God that was fantastic! .. that skit should win some kind of award for sure

It'd get people hooked!

I love Seth Meyers. His show has only gotten better over time.
Seth!! You just cracked the code. More audience interaction, Please. That was Phenomenal!
So we know now that Larry was jonesin' for some Yellowstone.
The moonlanding joke was genuinely funny af
... emergency meetings in Langley this morning though 😂
Yep, but you do know it was a joke, right? Not a secret message being sent to you by Q.
@@MahkyVmedia1 hmmm. Are you sure?? 🤓
The moonlanding joke was faked!
We don’t see “Back in My Day” “Ya Burnt” and “At this Point in the Broadcast Seth…” segments enough. 😂
I miss ya burnt. One of my favorite segments
@@cheeseonyomama Not enough articles about migrating tree frog of late...
"At this point in the broadcast" ALWAYS cracks me up!!
I miss the "At this point in the Broadcast" bits. Those were always hilariously awkward and just plain hilarious too.
The Back in My Day segment was already gold and Seth walking through the audience made it even better, but what truly took the cake for me was the (improvised?) bit where Seth tells someone to hold his pipe immediately after he talks about self reliance LMAO
Zzzzzzzz 😴
I laughed out loud at the pipe bit and then had to rewatch it
The organ/piano guy can hardly hold himself together.
This was the best "back in my day" ever.
I rarely laugh out loud 😂
Holy crud… that Christian Bale joke was a deep cut! LMAO
You really show your age if you caught that one.
I found it funny that it was the oldest reference on "back in my day".
Still FaF though!
Cmooon 2009 is only 15 years ago. God I miss the good old days 😂.
Please, I'm 50 years old and I've been scrolling through replies to find an answer to that joke.... Please tell me!
@@liamobrien1839Christian Bale is well known for getting into an altercation with a member of the film crew during a shoot because of where he was standing or something along those lines. The audio recording of it made it out to the world at some point.
I love Seth. His comedy is so down to earth and endearing
Absolutely‼️
Seth was in the zone for this episode of 'Back In My Day'. 🎉❤
Love Seth's fullblown road to lunacy that every week since the pandemic he's slowly been going down to. One of the best comedic minds, can make anything work and be absurd and laugh at himself. GOAT late night host, imo
No way. I fell asleep.
You made my grandma say, "oh geez" with that sturgeon Mary joke, she wants to know if you were drinking before the show.
Is the sturgeon Mary familiar with the sea captain?? They seem like they’d be close
Mmm I think the ray…
Your delivery is amazing, Seth!!! Your monologue !!Your writers are perfect bc you are hilarious 😆
To wherever is furthest, Seth, not farthest
If the Sturgeon Mary is a drawing, you do not pay your art department enough.
It's a photo, not a drawing. You need to give props to the costume and make up dept for dressing up the sturgeon so perfectly...
Correction! It's a photo montage
AI?
@@nutgoofprobably
Agree; but it's most likely AI.
I love it when it goes off the rails.
The password sharing story is very moving.
I new there was something different when the monolog was over but 10 min left, man I'm glad I stayed, that was one of the best segments I've seen for a long time thanks, I think you should do it monthly
I almost don’t care what Seth does….he is just such an amazing, funny, smart guy who also happens to love his family and shares them with us❤ Thank you, Seth. (Love getting to know your cool brother, Josh, on Family Trips!)
Seth: I'm getting older...
Seth at that exact moment in skinny jeans. 😅😂😅
Why not flaunt it while he’s still got it?!
I can't believe all those dads left their townhouse neighborhood to come watch Seth tonight
Seth's podcast with his brother is now an "established" one. He must have gotten sick of the daily heckling about it not being new anymore.
Meyers really branching out with his standup tour
Can't wait to see him in Toronto next month.
First of all, I *loved* that Sturgeon Mary joke! 😂
Second of all, that submersible joke was HILARIOUS, followed by:

P.S. That funny jab making fun of anti-vaxxers was also awesome.

Magnificent television!!! Superb writing! Incredible performance! 🎭 🏆❤
As soon as he mentioned the Apple headset I knew it was Back in my Day time! I know this show too well lol

This is the most dramatic garbage I have ever watched; with such intensity. Beautiful.
Seth is going to mention your comment on Corrections, he has a humiliation fetish
Holy cow. The Back In My Day segment was a lot of fun... one of my favorite things I've seen on your show. All the best.
That Back In My Day was pure gold. 😂
Seth seems like he is talking from experience when speaking about dads not sharing passwords
I thought we would see him confront his dad in the audience and deliver the punchline to his face.
@@sherinameless1618 me too
"Sturgeon Mary" is fricken gold baby!
Seth's biggest regret is probably that his Camry doesn't have enough seats to drive all his writers to his standup act. He has to rent a minivan.
Hey the donut shop by my house made the news AND Seth's monologue!
9:35 Blue from Blue's clues is girl dog
"Established" is the first quality I look for in a podcast.
I feel seen - I complained the other day that the designation "new" was pretty inaccurate.
Yeah I *HATE* new podcasts but I'm definitely checking this one out ;)
@@daupomaticyeah! I noticed it as a nod to the jackals pointing out it was no longer new! 😃
Back in My Day “ was hilarious 😂😂😂
"The gift of self reliance... Hold this for me"
Actual comedy gold
Has Seth ever left the main stage during one of his tapings? I can’t ever recall him going into the audience area lol
I thought that before the show stagehands place him in the chair and then wind him up with a key in his back.
During the commercial break, Seth goes into the audience to answer questions from the audience while things get set up on stage. So technically not during the taping, but yes, he goes into the audience.
That’s more of a Fallon thing...
I think the aquarium needs to talk to the guy that takes care of the sting ray tank 😂😂😂😂😂😂
😲🫣
No one thought he had it in him
They think maybe a shark did it. We'll see eventually.
Watch Jimmy Kimmel for that interview 😉
Pretty sure his name is Sting Ray. Or at least it is now.
Seth, do not ever quit/retire, or even change unless you are going to be more out of the Box. You are the only late night show that make me laugh out load on a regular basis night after night. On Sundays, I watch Corrections and laugh hysterically the entire time, even Animal Flubs. Your Team is amazing!

The fabled circle jack.
That back in my day had me in tears lmao
The expression "pull yourself up by your bootstraps" was originally used to refer to a task that's impossible. It's believed to come from the German author Rudolf Erich Raspe, who wrote about a character who pulled himself out of a swamp by pulling his own hair. The more you know!
