I love how she takes the opportunity at the very end of the clip to thank him for how he's always treated her. It says so much about both of them...
Was very cute!
I know this won't sound good, but I love the way she turned toward him and we got to see the back of that dress!
she also asked him to be her friend at the end lol
Indeed not good at all !!
She said she's always liked his work, or some such... she's a fan! XD XD thats awesome!
If she doesn't end up as an Elf in a LOTR film, it will be a crime against humanity, or more precisely, middle-earthary.
She literally IS Galadriel and I hope one day she gets to play her.
She would make a beautiful elf, but I don't ever want anyone to remake the LOTR movies. Maybe if they adapt a different high fantasy novel to film. ;w;
That, or a grown up Luna Lovegood.
@@MothGirl007 next Galadriel is probably a black, disabled transwoman.
Send a msg to PJ about the hunt for gollum, maybe she can be Elf in that
At the end when she goes “will you be my friend? I adore you” … I feel like she represented most of us 😂
Well said! ❤
If you suffer from mental illness, probably
Ugh, why she gotta kiss his arse, though?
@@jebby16 She's not, though. She's merely expressing herself honestly and directly. It's cool.
I mean, you can even tell it wasn't for show. Notice how she turns around and seems a little caught off guard by the camera after she says that. Some people are just direct with how they communicate with people. Life is short. Why beat around the bush or put off saying what you really think when you have the chance?
She is so hot
She has such a uniquely beautiful face and a ton af talent. That was adorable when she asked Stephen to be her friend. ❤
She says at the end to Stephen, "Will you be my friend? You're so smart and I adore you. Seriously."
She is ravishing, for sure. But the film in which she is most beautiful, to my eye, is The Witch. Her face was more full. More nubile.
She's gorgeous
Her comment to him at the end how she adores him and he’s so smart…lovely
She's hotter than Arrakis in summer.
Am I the only one who was continually distracted by that dress? 2 details in particular stood out.
Well said 😂❤
She's got the Mid Atlantic accent from a place that doesn't exist.
Haha, nice! 🔥🔥🔥
@@larrym2434 Lmao yeah mix of American and Bri'ish
I love her in The Witch, The Queens Gambit, Last Night in Soho, and The Menu.
She has been amazing in everything she has done.
And she was magic in New Teen Mutants 😅
@@EerieV23 I can hardly call Poor Things a good movie and the material stunk for the big screen. The visuals of the set and costumes were gorgeous and even the make-up was on point. I did love the message of female empowerment, but it was basically big budget soft porn and a slog to get through a movie that was 30% "furious jumping."
@@trappedkitty5335 Anya was not in Poor Things. That was Emma (Emily) Stone.
The Menu!!!!
A breathtaking beauty. I could listen to her all day. Hypnotic in all the right ways.
I'd watch her in a read-through.
She reminds me of the golden era of Hollywood when all was glamorous and talented
yes!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all that talent plus she's elegant, charming, smart, beautiful and classy!
Not only is she phenomenally gorgeous - she's incredibly grounded and down-to-earth. I remember binge-watchin' Queen's Gambit and found her to be totally enthralling, captivating and hugely talented with her acting. Love her sense of humour, too. Such a personable young woman.
I saw this film today and it's honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had in the cinema. Demented beautiful insanity. My soul left my body.
The cinema I was in went quiet from the beginning to the end credits
It was phenomenal
right, I almost forgot George Miller existed. Like Nolan who?!?!
That is how Fury Road was for me. Really excited to see it a few times this weekend
That's what ppl expect from george miller, nolan and martin. They always deliver movies that are truely exceptional. I'm only sad about miller's age. He is 80 years old and i think there is only 1 or 2 movies we could get from him
It was ok
You guys really need to watch the movie in theaters. The sound production in this film fucking insane
Agreed. Seen it in a DFX theatre.
The best were the special effects and sound ❤ the movie was very long I nearly fall asleep if it wasn't for the astounding non-stop sound!😂
The sound was great af! The film was kind of boring at one point 🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️🤷🏼♀️
She is absolutely uniquely gorgeous. And DAMN those legs!
Queen’s Gambit was so good!!! 😊 and wow that dress is amazing 💖
Are you on prescription medication 😂😂😂
Who isn’t?
I like her but that dress is hideous.
@@scarlettuwu9582A lot of people aren’t.
@@SejalInManhattan and they should be. #mentalhealth I personally love the dress. It looks good on a figure like hers. But, like everything else, it's a subjective opinion. Medication and trolling aren't making the dress less provocative at 9am on a Thursday, so keep it moving.
Her story of how she appeared on Dune is one of the most interesting story's that I've ever heard in the film industry. She basically met with Denis who wanted her in the film but didn't think she could make it thanks to her commitment to Furiosa, but then she practically begged him that she could still do it, and then after she got back to LA from filming Furiosa in Australia, Denis immediately reached out to her, asked if she could get to Namibia immediately to shoot the scene, and she did just that. This is the perfect example of someone who's completely devoted to being on whatever shows or movies they can appear in, which is no surprise in this case when you're talking about a film like Dune.
Bu the way, she's definitely going to be in the next Dune film. Denis himself said he's looking forward to working with both her and Florence Pugh again. I am definitely looking forward to that as well as they're my two favorite actresses in the business.
Anya to Stephen: “Will you be my friend? You’re so smart and I adore you. Seriously” ❤
That’s why Stephen is THE GOAT.
And he beams back, "of course!"
THE GOAT??!... 🙄c'mon, sad when a word or expression, etc, lose their meaning or overly used
There was the Audrey Hepburn Era, the Marylyn Monroe Era and now it’s the Anya Taylor-Joy Era in Hollywood.
Hold on hold on.....Whaaaaat?!
Oooooh your right indeed😏
But do they must to do so as they voluntarily have signed a contract or did they Adopted Stephen as their SugarDaddy⁉️🥴
Hmmmmmm
Here for Anya ❤
... and her LEGS !!! DAMN !!!
that dress might as well have been on fire as she walked out
Not that I'm complaining, but these stylists ALWAYS put the women into these short skirts for interviews...and on rare occasions they show more than they meant to. Well, I'm sure a few were deliberate.
I'm sure that dress brought a lot of joy to a lot of viewers!
@@jjasper7512Who, her boyfriend?
Sexy woman for sure
She’s an absolutely stunning human being. So much talent, grace, kindness. She’s a unique gift to our timeline.
I just came from seeing Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and it’s an incredible movie. Anya Taylor Joy was excellent in it and so was Chris Hemsworth.
I will never get over perfect I think she is flawlessly gorgeous, talented, so genuine as a person in her interviews I never get the feel she's being fake. The way she acts with the hosts, press, fans, co-stara like she's incredible I feel like she's just an amazing person to know
Hands down one of the best actresses of this generation. I never get tired of seeing her in movies. She has so much style too....a fashion icon.
You can tell Anya and Stephen are kindred spirits
Anyone else catch when she said at the end “will you be my friend, you’re so smart and I adore you, seriously”
I think I’d die if anyone said that to me 😢
YES!!! And I'm DEAD. It says so much about the both of them...
I'd die if _she_ said it, that's for sure
@@dielaughing73 ok... but why would you be laughing?!
Yes!!!!! I would absolutely LOVE IT

She literally looks like living Anime.

I wanted her to star in Barbie so bad
Furiosa's Gambit. I'd watch that. Heck I'd watch her in anything.
Watch her in The Menu.
@sweiland75 such a weird movie
@@Ryan-st7hq weird, but in a good way
That dress is amazing. Her fashion selection is pure fire.
Except she put it on backwards.
Or a good stylist?
how is it staying on her right shoulder? and those shiny ripples...
Her question on his siblings shows she doesn't know much about his personal tragedy and the way he kindly answered reinforces the gentleman he is. It ended up in a light and funny tone. Good for both and for the audience. Colbert is a master.
What happen to his siblings??
It is an honor to witness such beauty, poise, and grace. Anya is otherworldly. I thank you, and her. ❤
Ive never heard a guest tell a talk show host if they will be their friend. It was so heartwarming to hear Anya tell Colbert these sentiments. She seems truly genuine and kind person
She is adorable! I loved her in the Queens Gambit ❤
Did anyone see her on Saturday Night Live? She was in every skit and she didn't look at the cue cards. Impressive...
I took my family to see it today. We loved it!
She really is the new queen of cinema, what a wild start to a career. Watching her in the witch and split to now has been a meteoric rise. What a deserving person too, really excited to watch this flic.
You can tell she never misses leg day.
"Wouldst thou like to live deliciously"
Yes.
Best comment
Also best line in The Witch.
Yes on the field piece of Stephen teaching Anya to parallel park ❤
She really pulls off blonde hair/dark eyes combo. Good actress too.
I mean she literally looks like she’s a living breathing anime star
Kinda surprised they didn’t talk about “The Witch” a bit. Awesome movie. And yes, she needs to be an elf in a new LotR movie.
No surprise. Warner Bros. has the cast on press tour, so the theme has to be about the upcoming film. This is quite normal for big movie premieres, with the 2-4 weeks before a premiere. Most big studios do this. Colbert (and CBS) would likely get some heat from WB if Colbert had avoided talking about Furiosa at all, and just talking about a different film.
I so love her unique style!
The front of the dress is giving Fruit by the Foot vibes...but bless her for pulling it off perfectly.
"will you be my friend? You are so smart and I adore you." Stephan, say yes!
Great interview. Two of my favorite people, Anya and Colbert. Wonderful.
Her performance lady night on Soho and the witch 🙌 love it
"It's not a contest, but I am winning." Lol, I just love Colbert!
her talent!!
Loved her outfit. Glad it's cold in the studio.
She's beautiful. Wow. Stunning. And what a great actress as well!
Anya has a mid-atlantic accent. Which we haven't heard from the 50s/60s.
Makes sense, since she's U.S.-born but dual citizenship between the U.S. and U.K., born to English/Scottish/Spaniard/Argentine parents, growing up partly in the U.S., South America, and Europe.
She's literally Mid-Atlantic.
She is so hot
Craig Ferguson would have a field day
Ugh, how I wish we could get our precious Craig back. Would love to see that interview.
I can just see the smile widening as he tears up the cards
I know already that Geoff, again, will be "straight" for one night.
The folks in the front row seat are having a blast. 😂
I haven't seen anything yet with her in it that she didn't nail the part perfectly. I really hope that this movie does her justice. She's so sweet and unbelievably talented. So good at what she does, that she actually made me not like her in Peaky Blinders. The Menu was so good. And, when she sings in Last Night In SoHo, I was blown away at how good she is.
That girl is over the top pretty.
Not sure Anya will see this, but there is a 3 step "trick" to an easy, "perfect" parallel park.
(For Americans). Once lined up with the rear of the vehicle you will pull behind.......
1 - Turn the steering wheel all the way to the right. (Clockwise) Slowly back up.
2 - when your right shoulder is even with the other car's rear bumper, stop. Turn the steering wheel 2 full times to the left. (Counter clockwise). Continue to slowly back up.
3 - when your front bumper just passes the other car's rear bumper, stop, turn the steering wheel all the way to the left. (Counter clockwise) Finish backing up to your perfect park.
Works great in big-city, small-space parking spots.
Hope this helps someone.
She's not gonna fk you.
Sounds good... the only flaws / extra considerations I can think of: (1) I was taught that turning the steering wheel when the car was stationary / stopped was an incorrect thing to do - it can put a fair amount of stress on many different parts of the steering system, resulting in unnecessary wear and tear over time. So always try to be rolling (even slowly) when turning the wheel, to allow everything to move the way it should. (2) Different cars have different turning radii, so a full lock out in the first part of the process above may not have exactly the same result in every car - so its best to get to know each vehicle and practice your parks, to get the best angle of attack for each car; (3) FWD vs RWD drivetrains operate a little differently as well, so be prepared for how that will influence the angle and approach. Lastly, (4) the width of the car from the kerb and the already-parked car is a consideration when you start the parallel park - a mini cooper has a massively different width to a Hummer or a Dodge RAM. So learning the car you are in and getting a feel for its dimensions is also an important aspect for setting up the ideal starting position.
@@markd.9538 obviously, if next to a mini Cooper, you'd be a tad further away from it as for turning the wheel while stationary.....once you get the hang of it, you won't need to do it.
(The same way you are taught - hands on the wheel at 10 & 2. Once you learn, you hold the wheel with one hand while the other is tapping the roof in time to the song on the radio)
My instructions are for first-timers, beginners.
That's how I was taught by a private driving instructor who was also a stunt driver. It has never failed me!
I don't think a look gets more unique than hers
Love her bracelet especially and her outfit
I would like to see how a Mad Max driver's licensing test would go.
Driving Instructor: Do you see that smaller pedal down there?
Anya: Yes.
Driving Instructor: Go ahead and push that down with your foot.
Anya: Like this?
Driving Instructor: More.
Anya: Okay.
Driving Instructor: MORE.
Anya: Are you sure?
Driving Instructor: MORE! MORE! ALL THE WAY BABY.
Anya: I really don't think this is --
Driving Instructor: (Takes an electric guitar from the backseat and climbs out the window and onto the hood of the car. A guitar solo wails across the sand flats.) WAAAAAAAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!
😂

Anya being the next Resident Evil Main Actress.
She is an excellent actress. And she makes that dress look amazing!❤
Love her! ♥ She would be a fabulous and perfect Galadriel too. Please, someone, make it happen. #LOTR
I saw an advance screening of Furiosa; it is very engaging and entertaining!! the action sequence, production sets and world building are much bigger than Mad Max. I'm still miffed that we don't get to see Charlize Theron in this movie but Anya Taylor Joy did very well and used her big eyes to great advantage!
“Will you be my friend? You’re so smart and I adore you. Seriously.”
Anya we feel the same sentiment toward Mr. Colbert. After I saw The Queen’s Gambit three times, I felt the same toward you, too. ❤
Anna Taylor Joy + Stephen Colbert = Silver Fox Alan Cummings
My lord, she's stunning!
I would love her as the final villain ballerina Boss character in the John Wick Spin off Ballerina vs Ana DE Armas. Anya has so much grace and class like a 15th century russain ballerina.
Re her appearing in the 3rd Dune movie: Say yes without actually saying yes.
It's too bad that his specific question was a bit cornering. I would've liked her to say "yes" if he'd asked something to the effect of "will you return if asked?".
There's no way to cut Alia Atriedes out of Dune Messiah. This isn't Farok we're talking about...
@@jeffredfern3744 Sure, but that doesn't mean that Ms Taylor-Joy *will be* available. Something could come up and they'd have to recast...
@@Shadoweclipse1386 If so, I won't be watching it.
@@derekd1510 I'm happy for you? It'll still be Denis making it, so it'll still be fantastic.
She is so effortlessly delicate and gracious.
I loved many of her movies, The Witch, Queen's Gambit, Northman..., but the one movie I don't see people bring up is Thoroughbreds. She and Olivia Cooke were fantastic in that.
YES, Thoroughbreds was great. Also featuring Anton Yelchin's final performance.
Fascinating, talented actress that captures your attention. Nice to find that she is just as delightful when being herself in guest appearances. An actress to watch in future projects as she has that magic spark that makes a true "star" in constant demand.
She has such a unique look it’s insane

She is out of this world Gorgeous 😍, and so talented.
She’s just such a great actor. BUT!! ‘Twas in “The menu” when I fell in love with her. ❤
I swear, she’s an alien from Venus.
I'm not super down on where all the various races of aliens that conspiracy theorists go on about come from... but Anya resembles a Nordic type, and I don't think they're Venusian 😅
She actually comes from Argentina altough she was born in the US
Kudos to Colbert for staying focused throughout the interview and keeping his gaze above the shoulders. A Pros, Pro.
No tits.?
Ew.
The stress was evident and palpable, however. Probably helped that his wife is almost always just off-camera. Evie's gravitational pull kept his eyes up.
@@marce0830 Well, I guess you can "Ew" my comment, but, Ms. Taylor Joy awoke yesterday morning and said, "What shall I wear on the Late Show with Stephen Colbert?" Then, intentionally chose a dress with quarter panel completely exposed in the back, revealing her to be completely naked beneath and exposing her right cheek to him. Then, knowing that studios are notoriously frosty to accommodate heating from the lights, she doubled down on the front...also, seemingly intentional. I'm just pointing out the obvious. Again, Colbert is a Pros Pro...he didn't take the bait.

This is what I wait for with Colbert interviews. All that training as “the other Stephen” gives him the ability to play with the interview but always clue the guest in on the joke! She appreciated that.
