Watch Anya's full interview with Ali on BBC iPlayer in the UK: www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p0hzhdrc/ For more on how she landed the role of Furiosa and being inspired by Charlize Theron's performance in Mad Max: Fury Road.
i love how Anya has gone from saying it felt bad to play morally gray/cruel characters to "she silenced him!" after taking home a prosthetic tongue of her character's enemy. my fav actor.❤
I leggit cried when we got a glimpse at the beauty of the mythical Green Place knowing it's the first and last time ever us the audience will ever get to see it. Just like Furiosa.
We shall see. It's a franchise after all. George Miller probably won't get to make another Mad Max themed movie which is sad, but if he sells his rights to it, there might be more titles. Will those be any good? That's another question.
It truly show how great of an actress Anya is that she can perfectly portray one of the most toughest, most badass women in film history, and yet in real life she one of the sweetest, kindest, cutest and most charming women in the business.
Since Fury Road, I have been obsessed with Furiosa. I remember walking out of the theater after watching Fury Road thinking “I want Furiosa’s story” and I was SO excited when I found out it was to come. I watched Furiosa in theatre the other day and I was thrilled. It did not disappoint. Anya did a fantastic job 👍
Totally identify with Anya's experience of how she learned to drive. My Dad built hot rods so from 10 and 12 years old I went from backing up the truck on the boat ramp to learning how to drift with a manual transmission on a race track. First day of "driver's ed" at 15 the instructor asked me to go forward through the cones, stop, and go backwards through the cones. I floored it.... He grabbed the dash and gasped. When he was done screaming at me for driving like a lunatic and to get in the back seat for someone else to "do it properly" I simply muttered.... "I didn't knock a single cone over." 😝🤣
@@BrandonWestfall That's okay... I had teachers that thought some of my stories were "out there" until my dad brought the photos into school where I got to drive a train engine, a dragster, Porsche, or whatever and had to retract their statements. 😆
She’s such a phenomenal actress and takes her craft so seriously and I love how much she advocates for herself and her characters to the directors and producers
ALWAYS love Ali's interviews, and especially I love his love for these movies, in which I see myself. Him just casually whipping out the war boys' salute? LOVE!!!
Chris (Dementus) liked to talk. He had the megaphone all the time. He was intelligent or gifted with words. Anya wasn’t off base thinking to cut out his tongue and it being a form of torture to Dementus and revenge for her. Honestly what happened (spoilers) purposely going back to the citadel to plant that tree over/through Dementus and parlay that with rescuing the other wives, which we know she connects with in Fury Road but this being before that and not seeing her connect with them, why go back for all that when she could have tortured Dementus anywhere away from there, still had her freedom, and the ability to go home. Picking nits , it was still an incredible film with some mind blowing set pieces and the dialogue was top notch.
Babe is genuinely heartbreaking at times, when the weather gets bad and the dog gets mad, and then, presumably gets the old off-screen shotgun to the face.
I saw this in theaters mostly to support Anya. Very sad knowing she spent 9 months filming in a desert and 2 years prior planning out this movie all the hard work and her stress over this film being taken to well just for it to bomb the box office. I hope she's proud of the work she did because she was fantastic. Every experience is of value.
Nooo, I'm with Anya with this one, cutting Dementus' tongue would have been so iconic 😜 dude seems to be talking way too much and haven't seen the movie yet Furiosa looses an arm so fair if Dementus looses a tongue 😂 Waiting for this weekend to see it 😎
@@tony2shanks Mmm interesting idea although I feel like it's not super common right? I mean it's already what? 2.5 hours? It might be hard to gauge enough interest for a director's cut. But I don't know. Maybe not?
Most beautiful woman i have ever seen, such a unique look.

I had thought it impossible to fare worse than Mad Max: Fury Road, but I was mistaken. Furiosa lacks any discernible Australian characteristics; she doesn't even have an Australian accent. It seems unlikely that any future installments will match the quality of the original Mad Max from 1979 or Mad Max 2 from 1981. Unfortunately, the series has deteriorated over time, which is quite disappointing.
Hahahahaha Anya had gearhead blood in her all along! Powerboat racing is something else entirely. Those guys are MAD - especially the ones that raced in the 70s and 80s.
I’m wondering the same thing. Like come on Ali Plum. I enjoy his interviews, but this interview just released the same day as the film and it feels like it’s filled with questionable spoilers from the film.
You mean she actually does real damage to a character who doesn’t make it into the next movie, which we already knew because it’s a prequel, nooooo. The spooooilers.
@@derrickpanciera5644 if you were as smart as you think you are for acting provocative on a comment section you'd think for two seconds and consider that precisely because it's a prequel the only things you can spoil are the details (how, not what), which is what this was kinda spoiling.

could ask her that about all her roles too lol
