Best reaction I've heard to someone trying Djungelvrål was "What is this? This isn't candy... This is punishment!" I should mention btw that it isn't the same kind of salt as regular table salt (NaCl or Sodium Chloride) but salmiak which is NH4Cl or Ammonium Chloride. It is more intense than sodium chloride but tastes very different.
As an American from the South, I imagine salt licorice must taste like licorice candy, which I hate, combined with the high salt content of a country ham. If anyone has eaten an American country ham from the South & a Swedish salt licorice, please tell me if that’s a correct assumption.
I´ve eaten both and the swedish licorice is much saltier, its not even comparable, you can hardly keep a straight face when eating it, but im one of the swedes who doesnt like it that much. Like Anya said in the clip, its almost like a burning sensation on your tongue.
In NZ we have black licorice. I imagine the salt one taste similar. Also licorice seems to be old people candy because Ive never known a single child that likes it but old people always have it 😂
@@jeringatai3156 Salty licorice is an acquired taste, but here in Sweden a lot of children love it aswell - there were some licorice I didn't like as a child that I love now for instance, but I definitely ate a lot of Djungelvrål as a kid. It's exactly as Alex says, it's nostalgic and special. The best licorice candy is soft and has a more pure licorice taste - sweet licorice is also nice.
You're thinking of normal table salt when you imagine a salty taste - Sodium Chloride. The salt in salty licorice is not that. It's Ammonium Chloride. It is MUCH saltier than normal salt. If you take the salt from Djungelvrål (the candy here), and compare it to normal table salt, the table salt just tastes like fish/saltwater. No matter how much salt you eat, it will never be saltier than Ammonium Chloride. It's not about amount - it's about flavor. I highly recommend you try it - if only for the experience. Personally, I love salty licorice and always keep some in my bag wherever I go in case I get a craving for it - but, then again, I am Swedish🤷🏼♀️
How does Anya Taylor Joy think she’s weird looking and not attractive and that she won’t get more roles because of it? She’s GORGEOUS. She has the most beautiful hair, face, eyes and figure.
There are two different types of licorice, sweet licorice and salt licorice. Djungelvrål is not salt licorice, as Alexander claims, it’s sweet licorice. It’s just covered in salt.
As a Swede, my favorite thing to do is introduce unsuspecting friends to djungelvrål (the nasty salted licorice). Even in Sweden, it’s a polarizing candy lol
I'm going to adjust my comment on Anya from "I could watch her read a phone book" to "I could watch her eat salt licorice" - she's precious either way.
I'm English and she doesn't really sound English to me, she definitely has a bit of a South American Spanish accent coming through quite a lot when she speaks, maybe I can only hear it as I studied Spanish. Like when she says ''oh my God, you people are crazy'' at the start she sounds very South American, maybe Colombian or close to there.
@@holliswilliams8426 Well, since her family moved to Argentina when she was a baby, her first language was Spanish and she learned to speak English at the age of 8, basically because she didn't want to learn that language. Anya pretty much reacted the same way when I brought my American friends Djungelvrål 🤪 Salty licorice just doesn't transcend the Atlantic, it seems...
Iceland tries to make it a little better by adding chocolate to it. It's still gross
3:40 "It's a sheep eye." 🤣
As a swede, I just wanna inform y'all that the DJUNGELVRÅL liquorice is actually sweet liquorice as soon as the salt is gone... 😊
anya's accent keeps evolving, it sounded irish at times 💀
It’s all over the place hey!?
She was born in miami, lived in Argentina and then most of her life in London, thats why her accents has a lots of changes even more so since she is an actress.
I actually love it 😭
She said she can't avoid imitating the accents of people she's around or having conversations with so maybe that's why it varies from some interviews to others
You can hear a bit of a Spanish accent coming through sometimes when she speaks, like when she says ''you people are crazy''.
I guess I've never seen her in an interview before. Wow she's an absolute darling, very charming.
And as he gets older Alexander looks EXACTLY like his dad.
0:25 was the cutest moment of this entire press tour.
3:47 i’ve melted the way he looks at her
Nobody :
Anya-taylor : "It tastes like you made a mistake" 😂
Anya looks stunning 😍
Always
💯
Once I've bought out of sheer curiosity Lackerol salmiak candies.
The salty licorice.
The first one I've spit out immediately. I loled hard over the horrible taste
The second one I've tried to eat as a challenge.
The third was kinda good.
I'm hooked ever since.
I absolutely *_love_* Salmiak candies! I was hooked on the very first one I had! In the netherlands they also have that lollipop that has a sweet outer shell, but salmiak filling - it is heavenly! The mix of sweetness blended with the potent saltiness of the salmiak... Gosh I need to visit the Netherlands ahahaha (Salmiak first, Family second!)
Läckerol is sweet licorice tho🥰 it's not nearly as salty as a mild salty licorice
@@hallaja8338they have one that's decently salty
Djunglevrål is so good. Mouth is watering just at the thought 🤤
"It's not exactly an explosion of flavor in my mouth" 😂 Love this guy 😂
They have great chemistry. i don't know if they are love interests in the movie but the chemistry is great off stage.
Good God their gorgeousness actually matches each other perfectly 👍🏼
can you imagine if these two people had kids? 😍
his skin looks so good, like he looks closer to her age when he’s nowhere near it
He's almost 50 while she's in mid 30's right?
@@ariqsyafwan4987 she’s turning 26 tomorrow and he turns 46 in august. that’s a whole two decades difference. if people didn’t know his age, i’d say he looks a minimum of five years older than her and max ten years. he looks really good for his age
It's the licorice!
All the salt licorice has preserved him.
@@linnns7104 Not the pickled onions. lol
Worth noticing is that the salt in salty liquorice is not sodium chloride, but ammonium chloride.
Jaysus
@@jimmy87587 It has a nice, tingling sensation to it. 😎
Anya: this one says "Cuddle me" 🤗💕💫
Alex: this one says "i will kill you" ☠☠
"Not exactly an explosion of flavour in my mouth" hahahah, I love him!!!!!
Oh god I love it that he starts with "who do you represent today?" Because she multiracial just like he is. This is amazing!
both are fully one race.
I like Djungelvrål (licorice) but I haven't eaten it in a while but I absolutely love watching the reaction of others who try it, it's so fun
Best reaction I've heard to someone trying Djungelvrål was "What is this? This isn't candy... This is punishment!"
I should mention btw that it isn't the same kind of salt as regular table salt (NaCl or Sodium Chloride) but salmiak which is NH4Cl or Ammonium Chloride. It is more intense than sodium chloride but tastes very different.
3:44 - the way she tasted it... remembers something to me 😂😍🫶
Such a lovable down to earth dude: from what he is wearing to casually taking the rest of Anya's bite and eating instead of a new one.
@southbug27 it's VERY salty and earthy and aniseed flavour. It makes your mouth pucker and takes over your whole mouth.
Anya has such a unique beauty I love her
How does Anya Taylor Joy think she’s weird looking and not attractive and that she won’t get more roles because of it? She’s GORGEOUS. She has the most beautiful hair, face, eyes and figure.
Nah, she cute but doesn’t have a typical beatiful face
"These bad boys are massive" 3:27
"It's so big I can't even..." 3:37
now make one with Anya and Argentinian food ♥♥♥ give her her well deserved dulce de leche ice cream
Real life Elsa
She's such a strikingly looking person.
There are two different types of licorice, sweet licorice and salt licorice. Djungelvrål is not salt licorice, as Alexander claims, it’s sweet licorice. It’s just covered in salt.
"But sir, liquorice already raise body pressure"
"Put salt in it, then"
Swedish salt licorice is so sweet, that it shouldn't even have the word salt in it 😂
As a Swede, my favorite thing to do is introduce unsuspecting friends to djungelvrål (the nasty salted licorice). Even in Sweden, it’s a polarizing candy lol
How she hasn't been cast as a Tolkienesque elf yet is beyond baffling.
I'm going to adjust my comment on Anya from "I could watch her read a phone book" to "I could watch her eat salt licorice" - she's precious either way.
"I'll keep the rest for my enemies" HAHA LOL
Anya: “Alex, I’m gonna be honest with you. It tastes like pure gasoline.”
Alex: “60% of the time, it works every time.”
my dad grew up in sweden and is obssesed with those salty candies
I love how Anya sounds posh English nearly all the way through then becomes Irish at the end.
As a Argentinian, it's beautiful to listen to her and see that she never lost the accent of our country despite the fact that she has spent more of her life in other countries.
She should have tried the Turkish Pepper ones. They'r delish!
You should have said they're a delight
This is Sweden vs UK though. Turkish Pepper is Finish.
Its better to crush them and mix with alcohol then you have a nice shot.
Never gets old seeing people eating Djungelvrål xD
using SAlty Licorice against your enemies is a PERFECT use of it
‘ Keep the rest for my enemy’s’ lol I’d keep it in a bowl near the front door to deter people from over staying too long
