    I could watch entire races in this POV, no commentators + if you could put better mics so we could hear more of the engine and less of the wind.

      Alan Kućar it’d be cool if they all had the camera too and you could skip around and pick who you ride with.

      All cars will have helmet cams in 2018, also all cars will have a new nose and tail cam on them :)

      Alan Kućar its a turbo engine that might explain the lack of sound

    • @Casey_J96
      @Casey_J96 7 лет назад +4

      Marfran Dema they’re plenty loud in person. It’s more so an issue of positioning the mic somewhere with less wind noise.

    Sweet! just did a very unscientific and unofficial side by side comparison of this versus the helmet cam from earlier in the season. Seems like almost all of the time lost in the corners is made up on the straights. I'm excited to see how the races go with these new bodykits!

  • @bsears85

    Is the wind that loud that you can't hear where the car is revving at,or is that just the camera?

    • @armorgeddon
      @armorgeddon 6 лет назад

      Microphones are bad at picking up wind noise. Drivers hear the wind, but also the engine.

    • @easleyrider
      @easleyrider 7 лет назад +3

      jerryl davis because NASCAR managed to sell its drivers personalities to the masses and convinced sponsors to use those drivers as promotional tools. It took a lot of investment, and IndyCar does not want to try that kind of investment

      @X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X 7 лет назад +9

      Wings are very much part of F1's past, as ground effect is American open wheel racing's past.
      But F1 should very much cut back on the current aerodynamics. If I ran F1, wings would not consist of more than two elements and cars would feature spec monocoques and crash structures (noses!), both to limit costs, aid competitive and close racing, and create an attractive looking field of cars.

    • @jorgecruz5006

      I know man, I don't like that front wing either.

    • @aaronisgrate
      @aaronisgrate 6 лет назад

      if these cars are successful in bringing more close racing, i can see F1 going in this direction, especially with Ross Brawn being in charge of the technical aspects of F1, he has wanted F1 to simplify aero for a while now. they absolutely need the cars to be able to follow closer if they want to put on a show, and really, ground effect is the only way to do that.

    • @monsieurboks
      @monsieurboks 6 лет назад

      X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X8X Remember that ground effect was first discovered in F1. No reason for it not to return.

      Trust me tho--MUCH FASTER on the straightaways!! Waaaaay less drag--Oriol and Juan Pablo were saying 5, 6 mph more at Mid-Ohio--that would get you 8-10 mph at Elkhart.......not to mention Spencer has very few laps in the new simpler car. Trust me--Road and Street Course racing in 2018?!?! Will be Much better than the last 2-3 years....draft and pass...and there's really not been that bad of racing--just not GREAT. I've been following all Formula car racing since the mid-1980's, and now, gaining more and more strength after re-unification, This just might be it.........

  • @KMerse1

    This video explains perfectly what 's the problem in current sims (F1 series, Project Cars etc.) "looking forward" cams. When the camera looks into the corner, it always reacts to the movement of the steering wheel, so it only starts to turn when you already started to turn the wheel and stops turning after the wheel returned to its center position. Therefor the cam starts to turn toward the apex when the turning begins and still looks at it in the apex.
    In this video it is clear that a real driver looks at the apex of the corner BEFORE he turns the wheel and looks straight and checks the exit of the corner when he's at the apex. Totally different! A real driver always looks AHEAD while the games' cam is always late at looking where it should be.

      For most teams, they're gonna adopt Cosworth's LCD Screen Wheel which is probably cheaper and easier to program than the one we see on Pigot's visor cam.
      The Cosworth Steering was intended to be used widely last season but only a handful of driver actually used it (forgot who).
      There will be some teams however that are gonna retain the old steering wheel for the upcoming season as a cost-saving method.

    I'd fly to Monaco to see these race there, imagine how cool it'd be to see these over there. F1 cars are far to big while these are small enough for side by side racing throughout the course.

    • @easleyrider
      @easleyrider 7 лет назад +1

      Dr. Bananable Lector F1 cars are smaller and lighter than indycars. Indycars are still amazing though. They also are more physically demanding than an f1 car

    • @MrBurgerphone1014
      @MrBurgerphone1014 7 лет назад +4

      easleyrider, The Dallara DW12 dimensions are as follows,
      Wheelbase 3,073.4 mm (121 in)
      Width 2,011 mm (79 in)
      Weight 1,610 lb (730 kg)
      2017 F1 cars-
      Wheelbase 3,545mm-3760mm (139.5 - 148 in)
      Width 2,000 mm (78.7 in)
      Weight 1,548 lb (702 kg) minimum
      So yes Indycars a a bit wider and heavier but F1 cars are a lot longer. Plus next years Indycars are cutting down on overall length and weight which will makes them even smaller and lighter.

      I went to Monaco last year just a couple of weeks after the race while they still had many of the barriers and bleachers up. I ran the course a couple of times and drove it as well, and many of those streets are even more narrow than they appear on TV, so I'm not sure about the racing. That said, Monaco is just a stunning place to see in person, and if the IndyCars ever had a chance to race there I would be on that same flight with you.
