Love the new perspective this gives us.
@DontPressOnMyProfile Pic I think inside the helmet
Yeah. It really gives you a sense of the speed, and what the driver is doing and feeling. The neutered, stabilised camera views in F1 are far less informative and exciting.
Though I understand why F1 uses that style, since it's not exactly easy to watch a video that's constantly shaking.
@@left8138 Yes - that's why you get the weird tint to the picture, even when the visor is up. It's filtering the sun coming through with his visor color.
Formula E has been using “Driver’s Eye” for a few seasons now. It’s a really good concept.
I think what’s amazing is all the little bumps they have to go through for a whole race. That has to take a toll on your body in such a tight space
Man, we miss you at F1. That Mazepin guy is a bad joke.
Romain had talent in F1 ( and still in indycar )
Je rêverai le revoir en F1
Haas needed money more than driving talent at the time I think
@@andrewvillegas7747 Yes your right. They just needed money to survive in F1.
@@janzumstein8241 Yea, If F1 had any interest in creating good racing they would even out the team winnings at least a little more for the championships standings.
I never realized but you can actually see a lot in those mirrors, I’ve always wondered how much you could see through the mirrors
Would be pretty stupid if you couldn't see out of them properly 😂
French F4 you only see the width of the rear tyre so you have to guess if someone is on your side, since his front wheel isn't near your head you can't see them
Crazy to see the burns on his hand from that F1 crash.
yeah, he is the man, respectful
i read he will be getting skin grafts in October, so racing most of this season with those burns. Mad respect.
Crazy to think the only thing he got from it was those burns. After watching that crash it's lucky he didn't lose his life.
I had to go back and watch it a second time to notice - that's insane. Still can't believe he walked away from that.
Reminds me of Niki lauda, still racing without a serious loss of confidence.
Filed under things that make me happy: An IndyCar flat-out through the kink at Road America. Proper race car on a proper race circuit! Good stuff!
Looks like the kink is being straightened out! Must be crazy exhilarating the first few times!
Sick perspective. Glad to see you having a fun and successful time in indycar! Keep the content up!
This is one of the all time greatest road courses. A driver and fan favorite. Enjoy it, Romain! So happy to see how being in a competitive series has changed your outlook on things and reinvigorated you.
Go get em!
Road America has ALWAYS been one of my favorites
More of these Romain! Brilliant 😀
The helicopter shot coming over the hill is so cool on race day.
The burn marks on your hand still makes me wince till this day
Romain! I'm so glad you got to experience Road America! As a Wisconsin resident, it's awesome to see you visit and appreciate what we have to offer to motorsport. Here's to your continued success!
My friend and I drove up there when she saw on Instagram you were there! Had to stand and watch from the road by turn two. Got some okay iPhone pictures (as good as you’d expect from a phone haha.) So cool to see you ripping on our home track Romain!
been to the top circuits all over the world and IMO Road America is second only to Spa. Just a beautiful circuit.
What about Road Atlanta
It is a good track for sure but ranking it near the top alongside spa is silly. But that’s your opinion and I respect it.
Le Mans,Suzuka,Spa,Silverstone,Monaco,Nordschleife,Nürburgring GP,Istanbul Park,Interlagos,Hungaroring,Mugello,Melbourne,Azerbaijan,Zandvoort,Isle of Man,Pikes Peak,Laguna Seca,Daytona Infield,Indy Infield ......(a few thousand tracks later)Road America,Road Atlanta...
@@myk1137 Road America is way better than Monaco
@@myk1137 Well I've actually been to most of the circuits you mention and I respectfully disagree.....as do many drivers who count Road America as one of their favorite circuits, such as juan pablo montoya and giancarlo fisichella among many others.
thankyou Romain for taking the time to allow us VIP access into what its like to be a racing driver...
Amazing. This is a very fast circuit.
Some call it the American Spa.
@@1320crusier yh was thinking that while watching
Love this track! Spa and Road America are the two of the best long, old school tracks with such a nice flow.
Wow, after the carousel through the kink and back straight is intense. I don't know if it's the proximity of the trees but that was awesome.
It’s one of the fastest spots on the track too because it’s all down hill. I’ve been to road America multiple times and standing by the back straight is crazy your like 20 feet from the track. Plus it’s insanely loud because the trees act like a tunnel
The bit at the beginning, when you see the burn scarring, makes you appreciate everything about Romain
Cockpit perspective gives you the genuine perspective of the speed and incredible skill and courage of race drivers at the highest level. And I put Romain with the absolute top on the courage level to continuously take the cars to the limit after he literally jumped from the flaming jaws of death. What a competitor, and always a gentleman as well. F1's loss is Indy's gain.
This is the most incredibly intense onboard footage I've ever seen. Magnifique!🙏😉😎
One of my favourite US tracks ❤️
He was my favourite driver in F1 and he's still even when he's not even in it! what a legend
One of the reasons why we love you. Amazing content and viewing for us fans!
I'm amazed how much you can see both through the windscreen and mirrors
I love the perspective from Romaine's in-car camera. It really illustrates just how fast he's going and how hard he's working. RA is the best circuit in the US.
That fact hes racing after that crash this quickly is amazing
I’m taking a real liking to this guy, been watching open wheel as far back as I can remember, thanks dad for making me a race fan , I can’t remember but I’m sure Grosjean was not the first to get out of his car and fight the fire, that got me out of my recliner, you go man, I’ll be watching this guy.
This is a fantastic race track.
I'm always amazed at how quickly you guys can feel one end of the car starting to lose grip and applying a correction. You've got it corrected before most of us would even feel it. That's why you do it, and we just watch.
That track is incredible! Glad you got to experience it in an Indy car!
Good to see you are enjoying yourself out in the USA Romain, thanks for sharing these awesome on board videos 👏👍
This is the view; every track from this perspective would be great
Would love to hear your thoughts on RA compared to some of the F1 circuits you’re used to. Keeping it flat out through the Kink is definitely a thrill!
One of the best track on earth !
I'd rate it 10.000th out of 100.000 tracks.
The videos you're making lately are simply amazing! This is such a great perspective.
4:32 What a save !!!!!!!!
In many ways, Road America stills reminds me of the supercircuits from the days of old F1 like classic Spa, Nordschliefe, and Hockenheim. A lap around it almost feels like a Rally stage with every bit of the track being extremely distinct yet flowing. It's a sort of track that you don't see very often, even back in any of racing's Golden Eras.
My favorite track! I've been going to Elkhart Lake since the 70s. So cool to see it from that perspective! Thank you Romain Grosjean!
Road America is the fastest road course in the USA. Glad you're getting to experience it. I'll be driving it myself in October in my M3
Aww yes, Road America. Truly the 'Spa' of the US race courses. Elkhart Lake is a MUST for any race fans bucket list for sure. Good luck in Detroit Romain, your back sides gonna be sore for days after this weekend, Belle Isle is probably one of the roughest street courses on any race calendar out there.
This track is, and always has been, awesome.
When he changes the Anti Roll bar its shown all over the display. Thats something I am really missing in iRacing. Great footage again.
🤩 I love this
Maybe one day....
I'm working very hard for it! 💪🏻🤞🏻
Because true racers don't quit, they just find a new ride!
Way to go Romain!!🏁
I live an hour 45 south of Road America. Great track to visit, we camp there every year at turn 8.
Love it, very cool! One of the best tracks on earth. Really enjoy the prep getting into the car. It makes us watching feel like we're getting ready to drive. Even when up, your visor really gives the picture a weird pinkish tint.
Thanks Romain! Good luck the rest of the season.
How can I not sub Grosjean's channel, it's a miracle he survived. Wishing him the best of luck in his new career.
Thanks for sharing Romain! Great perspective on how it feels to drive an Indy car :)
These videos are awesome!! Good luck. I'll be there on father's day cheering you on at Road America
Elkhart Lake / Road America = fav. course.
Terrific insight and great to see Romain having fun in his new challenge! 👍🏻 🏆
Did not know Roman was in Indy until yesterday when my grandmother was watching it. Now that I know he's in this series... I will be watching this as well as F1
So glad to see that you still have that passion for driving! And that the accident didn't take that away!! Stay safe Roman!! Est bonne chance dans la série Indy!!
Terrific perspective of a classic track. Enjoy the race and Bonne Chance!
Incredible view. More of this, please!
Love this track, driven around it on Forza Motorsport many times! The feeling of speed in Romain’s IndyCar is scary 😱
Thank you Romain for the insights.

SUPER ! Génial Merci Romain :)
Best in-car video perspective that I’ve ever seen!
Merci de nous faire partager tout ces moments à bord. Bravo et bonne route.
Super vue !!! Merci Romain ❤️🇫🇷
This is so cool, for me it highlights again how little you can see in your mirrors as a driver!
This is fantastic footage and the perfect perspective from within the helmet. 👍🏼🙂
This is awesome Romain! Thanks for the perspective of what you see & how much you work. Also, your hand is looking GREAT!!!
Really cool; thanks Romain!

Awesome! Keep up the great work!
Thanks for this. Romain, you're the best! I always loved driving Road America in Formula Ford, it's beautiful seeing it from your perspective and seeing the adjustments you make in the car during a lap.
Vidéo absolument magnifique, plan de vu jute dingue...!!🤩🤩🤩
Love this content you're putting out Romain! And WE Love that you haven't given up racing. Indycar is better for it, the world is better for it.
Superbe vidéo Romain 👌👍👍👍👍
J'ai grave kiffé ces 2 tours sur Road America en vue POV.
Impressionnant.
