considering the new Indycar has less downforce im surprised it is still faster than the LMP1 car! also only 25 seconds to the current/2004 f1 cars is only what 0.5sec per corner? thats pretty close
@@Daz5Daz Yeh but wouldn't removing that much downforce slow it down on circuits, like street circuits... 🤔 I mean over all it only gains on Oval but becomes slower on pretty much every other track.
You really should watch IndyCar more often! Great open-wheel series that has everything you could ask for: high-speed ovals, trick and technical road/street courses... give it a try!
Can you please show the list of all the times around Nordschleife at the end of the video? Also please test out the Sauber Mercedes Group C monster next please!
Great video. Happy to hear the new Indycar has sparked an interest, it was long overdue but the car looks great and has provided some great racing already so it should get even better. They are talking about the next generation engine adding another 150 or more HP which should make them more like the awesome beasts of the 90's and early 2000s. Very cool stuff, I subscribed and will watch more.
So it has ground effect but it loses more downforce above the body because of the more simple aero work.. meaning an overall loss of performance and downforce? 🤔
I think you should do a series in different sims. About setups, driving styles. And general improvements for driving. Like Viperconcept does. It would make your community a lot better. And I'm sure it would bring more people to your channel and streams. Always great watching you drive man! Also you should make a series from this. Similar to what FailRace does. Take mods. And vanilla cars in AC or rFactor. And make a leaderboard for the fastest cars. And also make a group. Like Hatchbacks, FWD, RWD, Turbo, NA. To see which cars are the fastest around your track of choice. I would watch this even if it was an hour long. Good luck man. I know you don't really have time for editing. But I'm sure people from your community would help you out :)
Cheers Jimmy. Don't get me wrong. You are super fast on the sims. But you sure as hell belong on the TV booth. You sound like Murray Walker sibling. Awesome videos.
I agree that the car looks nicer than the original IR-12 (it’s still the same basic frame). This may sound very unpopular, but I do like the look of the old Indycar as well. However, this does look easier on the eyes. Smoother bodywork, no air box, none of those pesky bumpers… This really brings me back to the CART days.
I have to ask... Have you ever considered a career in commentating or sports announcing? You are a natural. You have a amazing ability to think and speak very quickly, be witty and on your toes with your comments and observations..
I'm just getting into racing with this category, but I have to say I love fighting with finding the grip with these cars. Haha, coming from an American F1 fan...
Cool idea! I've seen you also did Nordschleife Nürburg in F1 and Formula E, which was great. What i'd like to know, how fast could a LMP2 or 3 Car go on Nordschleife? If you ever have the mood for find out, I gladly like to watch it! Thx
Hey Jimmy, try the Daewoo Tico for a bit of a rough and tumble around the track. Just kiddin...maybe? ^ ^ Would like to see a rally car around the Nordschleiffe tho'
By taking away all of that downforce they hope it will improve racing on short ovals, street courses and road courses by forcing drivers to slow down more in the turns and by increasing tire degradation.
The can MrStig691. Watch the Races in Baltimore for example where they drove over the rail tracks. Or the Race in San Jose like Big Smoke posted already.
Great vid as always...I’d like to know what software you use to record your VR footage in. Or what program you use to edit your footage. I record oculus stuff using shadow play and I get desktop bars on top and bottom. Thanks for any info. :)
The number one excuse people use to say indy is trash is that" its a spec series" lol and that just means its more about driver skill id take that over watching the same 2.5 teams win year after year (red bull is on the decline we can all see it). This is from someone whos a fan of both
How this guy has any brainpower left over to narrate his own driving better than most broadcasters whilst destroying the nurburgring at the same fucking time is beyond me.
I just had a nascar add and then jimmy speaking like this “*in a deep voice*This is power, This is tradition *skip to Jimmer* tHiS vIdEo wAs mAdE bY tHe FolLoWinG sPoNsorS”
Can you do a LaFerrari/P1/918 difference like on Top Gear? Doesn't have to be Nordschliefe, a shorter track that you know reallly well ::) Would be awesome to see the times.
i just watched your video where you take senna's f1 car around this track but on asseto corsa, how precise is the actual track between different sim games ?
All Lap times:
RedBull X2010: 4:00.788
F2004: 5:10.299
2017 F1: 5:11.610
2018 Indycar 5:35.26X

NASCAR: 7:24.44
Formula E: 7:34.289
Lawn Mower: 8:12:948

considering the new Indycar has less downforce im surprised it is still faster than the LMP1 car! also only 25 seconds to the current/2004 f1 cars is only what 0.5sec per corner? thats pretty close
All those other times are in AC though aren't they? The track is laser scanned for both, true, but the physics engines are different
SRT Tomahawk X lap time sub 3:30.000
Still blows my mind that you can live comm with such detail whilst driving full throttle! mad respect Jimmy and keep up the great work!
Jimmy, you are by far the most fun of any sim racer to watch, your commentary is great and so enthusiastic. Keep up the good work mate.
6:08 You would see your whole life flash before your eyes if that happened in real life
I assume the loss of downforce is all about when the car is in its oval setup with the tiny rear wing.
I think you would barely have enough time to shit your pants...
And even in sim when that happens it makes 2 seconds feel like half an hour
BIG MOMENT
@@Daz5Daz Yeh but wouldn't removing that much downforce slow it down on circuits, like street circuits... 🤔
I mean over all it only gains on Oval but becomes slower on pretty much every other track.
Dude, woah. That was a hell of a drive. Had a bit of a chuckle when you mentioned 'someone more capable' because that seemed pretty good to me.
I CANT UNSEE THAT MOUSE CURSOR REEEEE
Hash103 me too!!
I'm sorry :(
Same
Hash103 thank god i only saw it after the video
Catch yourself on, it’s barely noticeable ffs

+1. Also try the raceroom X17 formula car
Thanks for not pointing out the cursor until after the vid. I didn’t notice it but once I saw it i could not unsee

You do such a good job of keeping a full running commentary while having to focus so hard on keeping it on the track! Top video (minus the cursor obv)
I have watched a lot of your vids, but that one got you a sub.
That was CRAZY.
You got balls brother.
Reliant Robin Nürburgring Lap 👏 Reliant Robin Nürburgring Lap 👏 Reliant Robin Nürburgring Lap 👏 Reliant Robin Nürburgring Lap 👏

@@AnthonyWhite-editorinchief101 The video wasn't out yet at the time of this comment.
@@F0X_H0UND In that case I apologise.
idk how you can race so well and give full commentary thats insane
The 2018 Indycar gets 66% of its downforce from the underside, unlike every other indycar before it which got only 30% from the underside
Ground effects ftw.
So it has ground effect but it loses more downforce above the body because of the more simple aero work.. meaning an overall loss of performance and downforce? 🤔
ғɪʟʟ 1ɴ ᴛ҉ ʜ3 ʙʟᴀɴᴋs Correct. Indycar significantly reduced downforce after 2015 in favor of better racing.
@@F1ll1nTh3Blanks they had wings on top of wings, and one more above that. It was getting ridiculous.
Nice lap Jimmer, now I really want to buy the Indy car, but I've already spent like £40 on iRacing this week.
Congrats on 200k Jimmy! you continue to be the most energetic and enthusiastic RUclipsr ive subscribed to, keep up the awesome work :)
Jimmy talks as fast as he drives and he is masterful at both! Love the videos...
Still gonna wait for sprint cars here

i really hope he does commentary for actual races. knows when / how to add excitement w/out going overboard with it. as he would say : Great Fun !
Excelente work as usual Jimmy!! Loved it!!!
Your commentary is flawless and exciting! Well done. Better than watching a real race in my opinion
Just discovered your channel, really entertaining, loving this series. Would love to see some of the outtakes from your practice laps.
Jimmy your commentating is so hype keep it up
Indycar is one of the best racing series in the world
Just started watching your videos. I really enjoy them! Keep up the good job
Yes!!! I was hoping you'd do a vid on this car.
Love these videos, jimmy! Keep em coming!
Aaaah ! The "Vaillante" colors ! Huge french reference !
Made props to the driving and commentary. I'd love to see the F1 and Porsche 956 runs
I would really love to see the modern DTM cars see on the Nordschleife
I love this car on road courses
Just got that recommended after watching Jimmy wrapping up the 2024 NLS season on the Bilstein M4 GT4 .
How things have developed, mate.
My duuuuude, Indycar uploads full replays of the race on YT a few days after the live broadcast! :)
Great video, really like this car, would be nice to see you do some races in it :D

VR is so good. I hope the F1 2018 will have VR support.
The livery is perfect, Vaillant+ rebellion... Awesome
Amazing driving Jimmy, top stuff!.
indycar has been quality id say since the 2012 car replaced the old car.
Remember, GP of St Petersburg is this weekend, featuring multiple of these cars
it's gonna be sick

v8 Supercar next? :) Great content Jimmy keep pumping it out!

Also, since it’s inevitable that David Land’s going to post a comment on this video, I might as well send him the link.
Wasn't the car of 2012 called DW12?
I said it’s a different car, but still the same base frame.
I have to ask... Have you ever considered a career in commentating or sports announcing? You are a natural. You have a amazing ability to think and speak very quickly, be witty and on your toes with your comments and observations..
Bugatti Veyron. That would be interesting what time you do. Love your work Jimmer.
Love it!!! Keep it up!!!
Nice! Quite faster than I expected...
Wow! Those graphics look great.
Top channel m8. Great enthusiasm (or orgasm, fuck it, no good at speling) and love for what you do.
I wonder what the Indy 500 set up would do around the ring cause the top speed would be MUCH higher
How can Indycar be hard to watch in the UK? They post the freaking races on their official RUclips channel!
Epic vid. Its got my stuffed how you drive fast and talk all at the same time?
Every 2 minutes I have to pause for a bit some I don’t pass out from dizziness
I'm just getting into racing with this category, but I have to say I love fighting with finding the grip with these cars. Haha, coming from an American F1 fan...
The box truck from rFactor 2 or a kart from Project CARS 2. Also a Formula 3 car.
I beat your Lawn Mower time in the RedBull X2010 once.
I'd love to see the same car tested in the main sims to see which are faster or slower. AC, PC2, iRacing, rFactor etc.
this is a brilliant video
It would be awesome to see a 2018 Pro Mazda and Radical SR8 V8.
I think you should start leaving bloopers in at the end or start of the video, if there is any, just to see your reaction VR. 🤙🏻🤙🏻
Nice drive, wish I was that good. I would crash a bunch trying to run that car and track combo I'm sure
Try to do that with Indy 500 aero spec
In 1995 a Ford Thunderbird averaged 195 mph on the 90 mile Silver State Classic course. High trap speed of 215 mph. Oh yes, it was a NASCAR racer.
I'd love to see the newly released Iracing LMP cars at the Nordschliefe as well
I could have the video closed, and with Jimmy's voice alone, it's awesome. Haha.
SRT Tomahawk X on Nordschleife next!

I never knew that!
I didn't know it either, but one of your (Jimmer) awesome subs pointed me to it during a stream! Thanks for that!
Yep, usually only about 4 days after the live broadcast, with all of the US ad breaks removed.
Yeah, this is why IndyCar is so great. They want as many people to see the races as possible, even if they lose money from it.
Otherwise, the "usual" live stream sites should help you out ;)
I didn’t know it lost that much downforce but I thought they just improved ground effect to make racing closer
By taking away all of that downforce they hope it will improve racing on short ovals, street courses and road courses by forcing drivers to slow down more in the turns and by increasing tire degradation.
HK Productions and you can draft and actually pass unlike f1
If it’s an option, race a Stadium Truck round the ring!
