Denis Corazza don’t forget; the drivers chose not to bother with seatbelts because being thrown clear of the car and taking your chances with the ground was considered preferable to being strapped to a car that was probably going to become a fireball. Self sealing tanks, nomex, and the avoidance of using combustible materials (like magnesium alloys) were still many many dead drivers, spectators, pit crew and Marshals away.

These kind of old open wheelers are my favourite things to drive in AC. I just love how loose and free they are. You have to constantly dance with the car, feeling it's limits, and trying not to exceed them. Modern open wheelers are cool too, but I find them very razor sharp. When they snap they snap hard AF. These older beasts are more involving in some ways, yet more forgiving at the same time, as even though you lose time when you go over the limit, you can also usually go over the limit quite safely and continue driving. Whereas in a modern F1 car even putting a tip toe over over the limit often ends up with the car facing backwards or in the wall lol.
You should do a video testing out the recently released early '60s 1500cc F1 mod cars. The sharknose Ferrari is a ton of fun to drive. I'd recommend '66 Monaco as the location.

The cosworth DFV was so good on its first race the only thing that happen was a broken timing gear. Once they figure out a timing gear damper the vibration was gone. It was game on. That’s another part still in used in modern f1 cars. The engine was literally unchanged for a bunch of years until the turbo Era where it died out. I love the DFV engine.

JIM CLARK - By far the greatest driver ever - no doubt. He is and was "The Best of the Best" (Fangio, Senna, Prost, Stewart and countless others about Clark). No other driver in history until today was so superior as Clark - No other driver as so much "Grand Slam" - Pole/Win/Fastest Lap/Leading every lap of the race - like him. And all that from just 72 starts... !
This man is the Olymp of driving - the Michelangelo of racing - a dynamic art at the highest level. So smooth, so precise, so fast....simply out of this world. One, who won in Spa by 5 minutes (!) in monsoon rain with only one hand at the wheel (!) because of gearbox trouble...One, who takes back a complete lap (!) in Monza and back into the lead... One, who took pole on the original 22,8 km Nürburgring track by 9 (!) seconds and more....One who won Indy by 2 whole (!) laps...For eternity and by lightyears unmatched in the sport. That`s just four examples of his mesmeric unique genius...

Im one of those who drove it for hundreds of hours in gpl back in the day. It seems more forgiving to drive in asetto corsa. F**king awesome lap however impossible to do a lap under 7min in gpl. That lotus 49 had lots of more understeer. If u missed an apex u would have an accident. Much more poisonous backend which was easy to take over the limit. In this speed u would have gone of several times in gpl. Jackie stewart once tried the original and said it was really close to the real thing 😊

I remember playing the GPL with my steering wheel and pedals, and Lotus was the twitchiest mf of all. The best soundtrack was obviously with the Ferrari. Damn that game was hard! And yes you actually steered the cars with throttle, that's how slippery these bullets were (and it was said in the manual too).

I’d love to see the McLaren MP4/4 around the nordschleife. There’s a mod for it online.

I can't imagine the size of the balls you need to drive this car flat out in real life. Those old F1 drivers like Jim Clark and Andretti are true legends. Its a absolute travesty that the world lost Mr. Clarke so early in life.

Would be amazing to see the Brabham BT46B fan car! If you want downforce, you'd have it with that car!
