- In this VladTV exclusive from 2018, New Edition member Ricky Bell sat down to discuss a variety of topics related to his storied music career. He talked about the formation of the legendary boy group before describing their financial hardships despite being on a major tour. Bell also detailed the circumstances that led to Bobby Brown being voted out of the group. After talking about Johnny Gill joining the group, he talked about Bell Biv DeVoe and their classic hit, "Poison." I absolutely LOVE the fact that she’s there with him. You never know what kind of emotional support someone may need. She’s been pretty supportive and letting him be interviewed. I can dig it. Respect to her for her being so patient with him. She’s totally loyal to him and his struggles. ❤

I am part of the Vann family an we grew up with the Bell family in O P P an I went to school with his bro Daniel Sis Lowrretta Sis Lawane an bro. Wayne we were like family living in the projects an we are very proud of him an may God bless him even more one 💘 the Vann Family .

It's great how Ricky Bell keeps a positive attitude despite being "robbed" of their royalties. I'm happy he's overcome his struggles with drugs and his hardships. Blessings for him and his wife.
That's why you have to be careful of who you allow to take you into the music industry and how they make you sign papers for your royalties that belongs to you. Don't just be in the music industry because you will come out broke.
Law should be that a lawyer must be present before signing any contracts especially for minors.

Great interview! Ricky Bell does not get enough credit in my book, but he is one of my favorite NE members!
Literally grew up with NE from the start. My friends, all of us white, SoCal kids near Disneyland, loved these dudes. We’d do talent shows and perform NE songs. Ricky is not lying about those weird extended performances by Bobby, they once performed at Disneyland in the mid 80’s on a stage on Tom Sawyers Island. The place was going nuts, and once Bobby got going he would not stop singing, was humping the whole stage, the boys had to just keep doing the same dance moves the whole time. Lol. At that time they had a banging performance of Prince’s I Would Die 4 U. To this day my friends still call each other by our NE names. I am Ricky.

This was a good interview Ricky dropped some interesting facts. with all of the ups and downs that New Edition went through Brooke stuck with them and could have left and said I'm done he is a great choreographer their choreography was always tight New Edition was a big part of my youth hood they were our Backstreet boys and Insync till this day they are my favorite group of all time.

I was in Folsom prison with Rick and he Damm near hit me with the "I'm Rich James Bitch" thing in the phone line one day lol. I was a 23 year old gang member and didn't let him finish. I love New Edition, but Johnny Gill does something to me. Everything he sings I feel something all through my body and it paralyze me so badly in a good way that it makes me feel like I can't move. I still love New Edition. Nothing will ever change that.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I absolutely Love Ricky Bell and he has always been my favorite member of new addition and BBD. I’m glad that their movie did so well and that they’ve been doing so well on tour. I have been a fan since I was a little girl when Candy Girl dropped. I hope these guys continue to get their flowers. Seeing the show with all six members in 2014 was hands-down one of the best concerts I’ve ever been to.
Thanks for being so, so honest Ricky. You are a wonderful and very needed EXAMPLE for everyone in our nation to follow.

Their Jr. H.S. won a concert for them to come whn Johnny became a member..My uncle made me a poster w their pics on it, this was abt 1988 I was 8 and still at 43 a diehard New Edition fan..BBD came out when i was a teen babeeeee they made me love them more

First time seeing this interview. I can see them both being there together. It is not just the music its their story together. Trials and tribulations and ups and downs and struggling together with their demons. I like the support they have for each other. This wasnt just a new edition interview its their own story together. I loved it and lesrned so much.
