One of the best Biopics I've ever seen. All the members told their story, that rarely happens. The accuracy was definitely there. I'm not good with names but all the people involved were wonderful. Thanks for delivering a beautiful story.
@Rakia Withers ...actually Bobby Brown said in an interview that his character wasn’t portrayed 💯 correctly. The group saw him in this light & he says he felt it was exaggerated. But to keep peace, he allowed them to have their way
Accuracy was not there. They forgot NE's original members. Travis, Corey & Giovanni. Travis actually started the group and brought in Brooke to be the choreographer.
@@CleanMusicLover229 I believe you. I think most biopics aren’t 💯 accurate, maybe to avoid lawsuits. If u watched the Temptations biopic & read their biography book (like I did), they definitely changed a lot of details.
This movie, Ray, The Temptations, & Jackson’s American Dream show how PHENOMENAL a biographical movie can be when A. The stars have a part in the writing and casting of the script and B. When they’re not afraid to tell the unadulterated TRUTH no matter how ugly or beautiful it may be ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️

Brooke is the definition of a Stand Up Guy and OG/Mentor. These Black mothers fired the Black Man father figure and brought in a white guy with zero experience with R &B Groups like he was the only Manager available. I love how Mike Became a Businessman!
Yu are right but Brooke couldn't handle the business aspect of things. From the moms perspective the kids were being used and they were really working hard. The white guy was a means to the boys actually seeing the fruits of their work
@@Darknezz365 He didn’t even really do that well. If the President of the label hadn’t been convinced and had the team in place it wouldn’t have worked out. Brooke never wanted to be the Manager and gladly would have accepted his natural role as Choreographer and Advisor. They never found an actual Manager because of the grueling tour schedule and explosion of their success. They should have and could have found a Manager who would be a better fit for the group and utilized Brooke. There wasn’t any experience nor wisdom amongst the Mothers.

The whole effort to bring this together is appreciated. This is a staple and for the actors to be able to experience living legends and learn what they went through & did for our culture to tribute New Edition's success singing and dancing all of their classic hits is legendary. They deserved something that was going to represent them in the best way. Loved. 🖤👑💋💯

I remember when we were young we used to play on the street every minute we had, this movie brings memories. Last time i visited the village i was raised, the street were empty, no playing kids whatsoever, it's sad.
Wow this was like a time machine to me. Brought tears of so many good memories. This deserves an award. Thanks to all who made this possible. This hit home big time. Damn!
What's amazing is that when I bought my tickets to the New Edition concerts the tickets were $15.00 and they were killing it. Outperforming Kool and the Gang, Force M.D's, and Cherelle with Alexander O'Neal. Yeah, that was on the same show and they were all over the stage. Bobby Brown was acting out, jumping on top of the loudspeakers on the side of the stage. It was a show for real. In Chicago, at the U.I.C. Pavillion, it was a train ride for 20 minutes and memories that I fondly keep til this day. Just didn't know that when I rode the train back home to the westside of Chicago that my home was more peaceful than the projects that the group returned to. They were horribly taken advantage of.

That's what I just said I wish vh1 stop playing with us and go ahead and make them film already. The Jodeci story needs to happen asap since they did released an album over six years ago. I want to see how they made out of North Carolina and on the top of the charts.
They didn't know about any of that until later when the movie was being made. Can't be mad at someone for not knowing that. Maybe if they knew things wouldve been different. He never threw that in their faces.
@@lifeofmoe1358 Maybe if BBD knew what Ralph sacrificed for the group, they would've been more understanding about why Ralph was so eager to do a solo record. And they probably wouldn't have went behind his back and hired Johnny. All comes down to miscommunication I think.

Till this day their moves are precise. You can see why, it was drilled into them. I’m so proud to have grown up in this era.
I would LOVE to see a male R&B group these days that have this level of performance... classic dance moves, well dressed, wonderful voices, etc.
not going to happen!
@@rosalyngolden135 ummm... sure, okay Ms. Lady.
The group wan mor is something like that
@@guardthegoat5925 I follow them on Instagram - they sound like their parents! I love them 😁
I wish we won't get those anymore... little girls aren't little girls anymore and boys nowadays aren't singing
Tears filled my eyes when the mother's had to vote out the manager it broke my heart to see how they worked hard and grow up only to get nothing that made me heavy
I couldn't believe that New Edition came back from their first big concert tour with only $1.87 each... Imagine the shock and disappointment ! 😮 Streetwise Records didn't do right by the guys. They sang like little angels. Candy Girl, Popcorn Love, Count Me Out and Is This The End are some of my favourites. 😊
I still believe Maurice Starr was the snake.

@Spongebob Squarepants maya what you mean☠️?
Sameeee😭
Yess i made a fan page and everything 😭
Literally same
Yep, it's that good
One of the best Biopics I've ever seen. All the members told their story, that rarely happens. The accuracy was definitely there. I'm not good with names but all the people involved were wonderful. Thanks for delivering a beautiful story.
Yea BET invested well in the NE & Bobby series. They didn’t take many shortcuts. Lots of good footage.
@Rakia Withers ...actually Bobby Brown said in an interview that his character wasn’t portrayed 💯 correctly. The group saw him in this light & he says he felt it was exaggerated. But to keep peace, he allowed them to have their way
I wish salt n lepta would have cut a deal with BET Lifetime was not the move ... they left out spin
When they’re not afraid to tell the unadulterated TRUTH no matter how ugly or beautiful it may be ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
From Bobby to trying to kill Tariq, great acting right there

Yes, he's a great actor. I'm happy he got the chance and is now getting more work. Also, he was killing it with those dance moves in the reunion concert scenes! He had all the energy of the real BobbyB.

This movie is always so emotional for me to watch being in love with these 6 men sense my childhood in the 80s. They were so much apart my generation no words can explain the impact they had on my life💖
Same here and I'm 43 now# team Ralph since I was a kid

"If It Isn't Love" why do I feel this way? There aren't many true biography movies that I go crazy about but The New Edition Story is one that I will watch over & over. The whole effort to bring this together is appreciated. This is a staple and for the actors to be able to experience living legends and learn what they went through & did for our culture to tribute New Edition's success singing and dancing all of their classic hits is legendary. They deserved something that was going to represent them in the best way. Loved. 🖤👑💋💯
My 81yr old mother watched the whole movie with me and she loved it.

I just realized the actor playing Ricky as a kid is my boy from Stranger Things
That's what's up good show too.
His name Caleb McLaughlin ☺️(spelled his last name wrong)
Yep, he sure is.
U know they only cast from a certain actor pools " if u okay the game"
I remember when we were young we used to play on the street every minute we had, this movie brings memories. Last time i visited the village i was raised, the street were empty, no playing kids whatsoever, it's sad.

New Edition demonstrates what paying your dues, strong work ethic and supportive family look like.

So Ralph refused countless offers to abandon the group and they still iced him out🤦🏾♀️wow...
