Pierre this the one. I can't wait! 😊
Ikr. Ralph rarely does interviews nowadays....let's go ❤
Hope you like it!
@@ComicPierre
Is there a whole interview please 😊
@@ComicPierre
I did but that's why I'm asking for the whole interview ? Again is there going to be a whole interview vide🤷🏿♀️🤷🏿♀️👍🏾👍🏾😀
Ralph deserves his flowers while he's still here for real
I got to meet him in person one day so I can introduce myself
Most definitely
Facts
@@oholm09 that's what's up I know he was cool like the other side of the pillow💯😎
Truth Indeed
Ralph was the most Loyal of the group....he sacrificed so much to keep the group together
And what did that get him? It's a dog eat dog world. People need to stop waiting for things to fall in their lap and go out and get it!
The group broke up Bobby was the biggest star in the world solo, Johnny album did good numbers and bbd changed the game with poisons and went platinum, Ralph album flopped sounds like he needed NE more then anybody
I love that Ralph would not speak negatively about Bobby. I love NE. Ralph ❤
Ralph stay repping NE right. Years & years & years. More power to you, sir...
SALUTE to Ralph; he's a REAL ONE!!! Glad that New Edition, Bobby Brown, BBD, and Johnny Gill are STILL tight after all these years!! Wishing ALL of them continued SUCCESS(individually, and collectively!!)
Ralph T glad he's on here being humble one of the greatest lead singers & glad he done this really cool interview 💯✊🏽..Pierre & R.T. dope!!!!
I like his song
Ralph is a cool dude. The host was trying to get a reaction out of you shading your fellas but you didn't fall for it. Class vs no class.
Yeah I felt he also was tryna clown him for the song Sensitivity, which is a classic. Come on Pierre.
I felt the same he was being really shady trying to get a negative reaction and I'm so happy he didn't get it he is a lame buster for that😂😂😂
Ralph is a REAL One!! True Friend/Brother to B.B.!!
Came here for this comment. It was too obvious, but Pierre didn't get what he was looking for. Respect to Mr. Tresvant for showing what brotherhood is... even when there are storms, we hold each other down. ❤
Accurate read.👍🏾
New Edition is still and always will be the greatest boy bands of all time despite their fair share of drama and everything that they have been through as a group. We still got love for some New Edition. We can play their music without skipping a beat. Home Again is still one of my favorite NE albums today.
Jackson 5 then New Edition
Jackson 5 is still of the greatest of all time. They had a lot of hits during the Motown era before they left the label to go to CBS Records. Nobody can top the Jackson 5.
They're NOT a band, they're a GROUP! You see any instruments? Bass, drums, guitars, horns, keys, percussion etc. I know their voices are technically "instruments", but it's different than an instrument you PLAY in a band. I've played instruments my entire life and believe me when I tell you this.
@@blakebrown84 I agree, but Tito and Jermaine played instruments at that made them a band. 6 guys singing is NOT a band, they're a GROUP!
Tito and Jermaine played guitars and made the group for what it is today. When he left Motown, they were forced to change their name from the Jackson 5 to The Jacksons. All of the brothers except Jermaine had to leave Berry Gordy behind and start writing and producing their own music. Michael is the only lead singer in the group. Randy Jackson became the new member of the group after Jermaine decided to leave and stay at Motown. Jermaine was married to the boss’s daughter at that time. Jermaine returned to the group 7 years later and rejoined them. Afterwards, Michael and Marlon decided to leave the group at the end of the Victory Tour. In the early 90s, they decided to call it quits because they wanted to live normal lives and raise their families. Today, all of the members except Michael and Randy decided to perform together once again as The Jacksons in 2012 and they ain’t missed a step and still going strong. Michael died in 2009 and they all know how much they miss him and won’t be the same without him.
Imagine New Edition doing the Super Bowl halftime 🔥
That would be amazing ❤
Truth
😮😮😮🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Yeesssss!

Love Ralph, It's Crazy To Think He Was The Lead Singer and He Wasn't The Biggest Artist In His Group Normally Lead Singers Have Great Solo Success
Because it was about timing. Bobby left 1st and was able to get his break 1st both with king of stage "86" and a 4 year tour with don't be cruel'88' had Bobby dropped the mystical magic album in 90-91 things would've been differently and he would been a bigger star.
johnny also used time to his advantage during the recordings of the heart break album he used that time to record his solo self titled album"90" with baby face, la reid and other producers that's why you barley hear him on the heart break album.
BBD had to survive because Ralph was going to leave anyways so they got in the studio then dropped poision "90" and they should've dropped hootie mack in "91/92" they would've had a longer run
Ralph recorded his original album living in a dream around 87 had that dropped when it was supposed Ralph would've been launched into superstardom however after all his group members dropped their projects he waited the longest to drop his album. Also his second album its going down"93" was decent considering he produced most of it by himself i give him props love at 1st sight it one of my favorite tracks
imo mca dropped the ball with all of these artists Ralph should've left with johnny to go with mowtown. Bobby and BBD should've dropped their albums sooner .
@@jhonram2496i respectfully disagree. I started out as a bass player on tour with Troop in 1990 3 months after I turned 18.
What you’re saying about Ralph we can’t say what “would” have happened.. what we do know is his music wouldn’t have been hitting based off what he was trying to convey. The early 90’s was about those hard beats, be it fast or slow. The crooner style of man was done with. Ralph fell in the cracks because his content was between the 80’s crooners of Freddie Jackson, Peabody Bryson l, etc, but his voice was still bubblegum sounding that wouldn’t appeal to the older ladies.
Johnny got away with it because his voice was for the grown, but they gave him a “hip” sound. This is why Johnny has sustained. His voice appeals to older ladies, like the age of my mama, but he carried our age along with him because we grew up with him (the 50 year olds).
It’s the same with Bobby and BBD. They latched on to the early 90’s street sound. It worked for a hot minute, but that’s all they could do. That played out, and they had no where else to go because they couldn’t do anything else. Bobby wasn’t the greatest singer. He was more performer than singer, but he marketed himself as a bad boy, and couldn’t do anything else with it. So, switching his content wasn’t going to happen. BBD couldn’t sing at all. They were a fad. So we know they weren’t going to sustain at all.
Ralph could have had a chance to sustain like Johnny IF he jumped on the Neo soul content that was coming out. Ralph should have come right here to Philly in the kid 90’s, chopped it up with all of us at The Five Spot, and got down.
It’s truly why fee R&B solo artists didn succeed more. The early 90’s was about image over anything.
@@Keepdapocket I get what you're saying to a certain extent but we're both kinda agreeing to the same point . Ralph did have k-ci write some of the songs but yes to your point it was still missing that hard beat "rated R" was kinda meh as a single . But again that why I said had he should've released his solo album earlier he would've caught on the wave and have higher sales. This man literally had tony tonie tone write /produce a song"yo baby yo baby yo" and had a fresh mint condition playing for him live on arsenal hall with "money cant buy you love ".
But do you have any other social media I'd like to check out your work
@@KeepdapocketMy thoughts about Ralph were in line with you about the voice. I loved him as a young teen but as he got older his voice did not match what I like to hear as a woman. I leaned more toward BBD. Of course Ralph earlier voice is quite nostalgic though. ❤🥰
@@jhonram2496 I wish man. That’s the thing with being “old” haha no cell phones in my day. I was heavily into the Neo soul thing. Those were my prime years, and being from Philly, that’s just how it was. I know I have some VHS tapes in my parents basement somewhere for sure haha.
I kind of “retired” from performing so much in the early/mid 2000’s after getting married. Basically just play locally at Zanzibar Blue and WarmDaddy’s. Jam out, of course. I still run into Jaz ( Jazzy Jeff) from time to time. Bilal will call up when he has a show from time to time if he can’t find another bass player. Which is cool.
And, no, I was not “big time” in my hey day. I would say the biggest tour I did was Jill Scott across the country. Other than that, it would mainly be those three city promotional tours for new albums or whatever, or a few shows here and there.
But, yeah, we agree totally. Ralph definitely should have dropped his FIRST! Ralph had stage presence as well. Just because he wasn’t buckwild, I feel he would have given a good show on the solo tip. What I never understood is friend is friends, and business is business. For the life of me, i never understood why they kept giving Bobby a chance haha like when they got back together with six of them. They knew Bobby would be late and not show up and all that. It couldn’t have been me at all. Sure, we came out the sandbox together, but you know how you are and I know how you are. If you ain’t with the group thing im cool with that, but you ain’t messing up my money homie. We’ll just hang out afterwards haha
Ralph sacrificed a lot fr where he could’ve been selfish to where there would’ve been no NE. Stand up Guy
Na real talk. Ralph was the one. He ain't need nobody. He wanted to be with his brothers. Def a stand up guy.
@gifi11 . I love Ralph too. However, real talk, Ralph as a solo artist did not do as well as Bobby, BBD, or Johnny Gill. Ralph needed the group and well as the group needed him. Ralph has a great work ethic always showed up on time and was ready to work.
@jenisejackson5408 once they launched, I 100% agree no argument. Bobby Brown was the king lol rs tho. So I get that. But would any of them ever even been seen if it wasn't for Ralph. They wanted Ralph solo from the jump. And I would say Ralph carried them until the rest of the group matured into their own.
@@gifi11 . Yes, I agree Ralph held it down as a true leader. However, the producers wanting Ralph as a solo artist from the get go, again would not have made a difference. He was not a very good solo act. It is what it is. Perhaps it was the songs that were chosen. I remember Ralph's album and it was lackluster. Some artist are better in a group. That is totally fine.
@jenisejackson5408 I'm still talking about as a kid. Ralph didn't go solo until his adult years. Prior to that, they wanted Ralph to sign solo. NE was already together at that point. Ralph could of said, my bad yall they only want me I'm out lol and who knows if we would know the rest of NE is all I'm saying. He was the child star at the time.
The man, the myth, the legend
Well said
Ralph was New Edition.. Handsome.. talented..all the the vocals.. And still very humble to this day .. Love you New Edition.. Love you Ralph 🥰.. I remember opening up the Album and jamming off Candy Girl.. And Mr. Telephone man.. I’m 53 now.. Those were the days . The whole album was and is a classic. 🥰🔥🔥🔥🔥 Thanks for this interview Pierre Love you too ❤️❤️
Definitely wasn't a beef between Ralph and Bobby. Bobby shouts him out in the liner notes of the Don't Be Cruel album. He shouts out the whole group, but he specifically mentions Ralph.
And Ralph does the same... especially in his song Rated R
I love when our brothers protect each other.
Ralph was my favorite and still is ❤❤❤
This is great because post-The NE Story, I was always waiting for a Ralph interview. I've watched a few he's done with radio hosts or a podcast here and there. However, BBD, Bobby & Johnny all appeared on The Breakfast Club or other notable media outlets after BET aired the biopic.
Now, I can't wait to watch this whole interview!
I’m honored that he sat down with me. Because he don’t really sit down solo
@@ComicPierre wow, now that's a big deal then! Makes me even more excited for what's to come! Hey, you keep doing what you're doing with your interviews! Bringing voices to the people that don't always get the chance to get heard :)
Ralph T is cooler than a fan…… Been a fan from the beginning my guy….. Great job Pierre
He's also very loyal because he could've went solo so many times

@@jonjonharreld7602 That's is true
I've said it before and I'll say it again, NE is so fortunate that Ralph isn't a selfish guy. No disrespect to any of the other members but from top to bottom Ralph is he most talented one and he's the one who wanted to be in the group more than any of them, it's wild.
Love Ralph, but Johnny is the most talented vocalist…
@@genohall2235
That's why I said top to bottom, because I was including the dancing and the look/persona. Ralph is either best or second best in every category.

Man Pierre thank you for interviewing my favorite entertainer of all time! It’s about time somebody got Riz on they show 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾💪🏾
Ronnie Devoe should feel a certain way from this clip! LMFAO 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂💀
Facts!
😂😂😂😂😂😂
not nice to hear.
Not really Ronnie was the last one added to New Edition as a group of 5. He has his own style but wasn't the best vocalist just like Michael Bivins. This is why they started BBD with Rickey being the lead vocalist. It worked out for everyone who all brought something different to the table.
@@nechemyahyasharal3678 Nice facts. Thanks
He came out with his solo album and smashed it. They had one of those great groups in the nineties and I wish they would've stuck together longer besides them doing their own thing.
If any member is missing during a concert its a let down. We love to see all 6 #ne4life
Forever a star. Love his voice and looks❤❤❤❤
First Biv on My Expert Opinion now Ralph T on the Pierre show???!!!! I'm having a hell of a week. _When I Need Somebody_ stays on rotation in my Spotify.
IKR! That Biv interview/conversation was so good!
New Edition then, now, and always. Looking forward to watching this one.
most loyal lead singer ever !!!!!!
Ralph is the greatest lead singer of a group.
Have you not heard of David ruffin or Marvin junior of the dells go listen to them
@@Gojo-maxpurple all of them. But when you look at longevity, consistency, performance, dedication to his craft, and his level of professionalism Ralph is top tier. Now if you’re talking vocals I’ll go with Ruff all day long. I’m looking at complete body of work.
Ok now slow down.
Internet hyperbole is a helluva drug.
Yo Baby Yo is still a banger! Shout out Ralph Tresvant and the House Party 2 crew 😁😁😁🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Ralph is a class act. Messy will never be him so Pierre stop trying.
Love ❤ you Ralph. I'm glad he held his own despite Pierre's terrible interviewing skills.
You really do love your Boo. Glad Ralph enjoyed himself and wants to do another with me. 😂.
I agree. He was actually a distractionm
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE RALPH TRESVANT!❤ Since 1983❤ Thank you, Pierre, for this awesome interview👏🏾
You can't judge a member of a group by their popularity. A lot of those members do the most behind the scenes. When they aren't there. The music isn't the same. I believe Ronnie Devoe held the dancing and clothing styles down for N. E.
We love ALL SIX together. There is no slight to anyone. We always wanna see all six together. If all six aren't on the stage us #NE4LifErs feel a let down. As Ralph said we want the full experience. We wanna see all of them together. If Ronnie isn't up on that stage you better know I'm still gonna feel some kinda way. This is a male interviewer so y'all wasn't really feeling NE back in the day until those same hating guys started approaching "midlife crisis" years. Then those same hating men got over themselves and started enjoying the show with the TON of NE female fans who were ALWAYS in attendance. Ralph has mentioned how fellas were hating on them back in the day because of all the ladies coming to their shows. We're stilling coming. Our men suddenly wanna come to shows too.
Love the band's music. Loved the biopic. Enjoy Ralph as a nighttime radio host now.
Hella back handed compliments going on
Ralph is THAT DUDE💯
From lil boys to ole legends.
NE Forever!!
cant lie bobby carried that group in and out of it on his back
I’ve been in love with Ralph my whole life…like since the cradle! 😍😍😍😍
Girl me too!!!
Same here!
I want to see ALL of them. If Ralph wasn’t there, it would be a problem. Period. 🤷🏾♀️
Nice to know they weren't beefing and all that. I think they wanted us to think there was a problem between them but they were artists in the studios and brothers in life. Nice😊
Most of the times it's not the artists. It's the label and the managers that cause division
I'm glad that is the way it is with them. They are a great group of guys@@tj1338
Can't wait for the whole interview
That was Nice! Ralph is as smooth as Joe Cool! Great Interview! Good Work Pierre! 🏆🎤💜
Ralph a real stand up guy sacrificing a lot, love me some Rizzo
Man New Edition is the best R&B group in my era. The Temptations may be better but that’s not my era so I didn’t see it. One thing I don’t think any other group has done except for New Edition is split up and every last member be super successful.
Ralph T. Would of been the Next MJ ,but he kept his loyalty to them
Ralph Tresvant was my ultimate favorite member of NE.His so handsome, and I just always and still love him so much. God bless you.
Man,Ralph is so fine😍My fav,the ultimate showman and vocally gifted
I've ALWAYS rocked w/Ralph...I loved all the brothers, but Ralph was my favorite!
RT gets finer and finer with time!!
Ralph is a GOAT💯💯
If Bobby ain't there, the whole night is messed up. When I went to see NE back in March, I was anxious until Bobby took the stage. Life is good after that.
Pierre this a good one. Please get Teddy Riley on the pod. Let him tell you what inspired the new Jack swing sound. You’d be surprised.
Imagine being interviewed and folks always talking about someone else. Kelly is always asked about Beyoncé. Tina was always asked about Ike.
So you took 12 minutes out of a 1.5hr conversation to make that point? Glad Ralph felt Nothing like that. Stop crying and watch the full episode
I've wondered about that myself. Have seen interviews where they're asking about other more "popular" people in that interviewee's life.
Ion care what Pierre was try to do, fact remains Ralph is a classic renaissance type of man. Not a hating bone in his body. Im pumping up Sensitivity when it hits my speakers!
💜 RALPH STILL LOOKS GOOD
they didn't even want the entire New Edition group - they wanted Ralph. They wanted him to be another MJ. He basically is responsible for everyone in the group's career - Salu' to him!!!
EXCEPT for Johnny...
I have been in love with this man for 40 years and I’m 46😩
Sensitivity was for the ladies but that’s what it was back then. If you wanted the ladies, you bumped what the ladies wanted to hear.
😂😂😂 why he kept on dissin’ Ronnie and then said, “no disrespect” 😂😂😂
I love Ronnie that’s my guy smh
Ronnie might've took one of his girls😢😂😂😂
No matter what he stayed loyal to N.E.
From the get go he put the group before himself. I will always love Ralph T.
Look up the song You'll Remember Me by Ralph T. It's an oldie but it's still the jam.
I luv this interview true tresvant way he's staying true to himself and new edition and their brotherhood from the beginning not a selfish person at all luv new edition still to this day all 6 are revelant to this day
Wow Ralph doing an interview!!!??? OMG!!!! I can't believe it!!!! That's what's up!!!!

Great interview! Like all NE fans we know Rizz is the true front man, but in terms of vocals l think Ricky Bell has always been criminally overlooked for his comparable talent, it's probably cause he doesn't have the traditional "look" of a lead - at least not when compared to RT, Bobby or even JG. 🙏🏿+👊🏿 from London Pierre#NE4Ever
Great interview my brother 🙏🏽✊🏽💯
I will forever be in ❤️ w/Ralph
RIZZO!!! NE for life!!!
In 2023, i'd love to hear an NE album produced by Timbaland & Missy 🤔😜🤑
Pierre throwing shade in this interview AND then trying to be nice about it. Why did you have Ralph on your show if all you're going to talk about is Bobby? A real journalist knows not to do that. It's about balance. You ask a few Bobby questions but keep it moving. Then you brought it back up again. You also don't allow your guests to answer the questions. This is why everyone don't need a podcast just because it's free to set up one. And I only watched this for Ralph. Pierre's interviewing skills need a lot of work.
So you judged the WHOLE conversation on 12 minutes? You lame
For that. This is niggas whind up in jail too emotional without knowing the facts and reacting. Well RT enjoyed himself and we recently talked and he down for another sit down. So if he’s cool fcuk you crying for? 😢😂
@ComicPierre I watched the whole interview. What journalist offers their own book to a celebrity guest and then signs it like THEY are the star. It doesn't get anymore arrogant than that. No wonder DL Hugley called you out.
Truth Indeed Ugh
9:55 LMAO This is why I love Pierre. He's spot on and I used to say this myself. I thought 'Rated R" was the best song on his 1st solo album. I'll wait for the full interview.

Ralph’s memory is betraying him a little bit. The NE Heartbreak single WAS as hard and hip hip infused as anything Teddy was doing. Al B Sure and Johnny are about the same height as Ronnie.
No it wasn't, Teddy was on a mission and there was no one in his way, that new jack sound was a game changing
no it wasn't. if it isn't love has a very soft beat some of the parts are hard hitting but definitely not as Teddys

Ralph was a good lead singer, but My favorite member of the group was Johnny Gill
Wonder what it have been like if Keith Sweat had been the replacement instead of Johnny Gill
The way he slipped El Debarge in there 😫. The shade. Lol
What’s wrong with El? See I’m not madly in love with the great group. So I don’t know Everything about them like you do. Sorry
Love me some RT but wish he woulda cut u off when you said that about Ron! Mike would not have let that slide! Ron may not be a lead vocalist but he's still a talented showman, the best dancer the group and great eye candy!!!
To be fair, the interview cut off right after that, so we don't know what Ralph said after that. I guess we have to wait until Thursday to hear Ralph's response.
Mike was much more open, honest, and humble in his recent interview. First of all Bobby didn't leave, he was kicked out. Mike gave Ronnie credit for having the best ear and pretty much being responsible for what BBD became.
