Love his personality ❤. He seems kind and humble. He deserves more recognition
FINALLY! A full story on Johnny! One of the great R&B greats of the 20th Century! Thank-you VLAD!
Yes indeed
Johnny Gill is one if the greatest vocalists of all time… love all his music!
Thanks for giving Johnny his flowers while he's still able to smell them. Enjoyed this interview! Now get Ralph and Ronnie on here!
I love me some Johnny Gill. This man is so underrated and so talented. His voice alone is so velvety, i could listen to him all day. He brought NE into their mature era. Anybody who can last in the entertainment industry for forty years is a legend. There will never be another JG or NE. The are successful individually, but I'm so glad that they realized they're better together.
Johnny was a child sounding like a grown ass man. What a phenomenal talent...
JOHNNY, THANK YOU!
THIS INTERVIEW WAS PERFECT!!!
AND, WHEN YOU TALK ABOUT EACH INDIVIDUAL BEING "HEARD" IS SO IMPORTANT IN ALL TYPES OF RELATIONSHIPS!!!
THANK YOU!!!
Totally agree 👍
Johnny, thank you for being on VLAD.
This is one of my favorite interviews this year. 😊
Having a childhood is the greatest gift a parent can give a child
Johnny Gill is a true singer!
Your fans recognize your talents and we appreciate you & your wonderful voice.
Keep making music, Brother.
Johnny your ability to "tell a story" goes beyond music. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to your tell your story.
I'd like to see a Ralph Tresvant interview
Ah man that would be classic
Pierre's Panic Room did one a few months ago
Me Too
My favorite singer of all times - Thanks VLAD for getting him on
@@lutherodaniels3799😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
MY , MY, MY a true legend that continues to create and sustain relevance in the music industry today , Brother thats more of a staple than an Award, because we've already voted with our support. GOD has blessed you and the other group members. tremendously. Side note years ago i heard you sing the National Anthem at a HBCU game and i put you up there with the other power voices as well , just saying how it sounded to me. GOD BLESS.
Thank you Vladimir for giving and showing love to NE fans. I am a great fan of JG, Ralph, Bobby, Ricky, Ronnie, Ronnie, Mike, and Mr. Brook Pane. It is a real delight to see my beautiful Johnny!
My dream has always been to meet Johnny Gill Stacey Lattisaw's grandmother lived on the same street as my Aunt. My Aunt was suppose to have taken us to visit but she lied to us. I feel like she let me down because I would have loved to sing with her and Johnny Gill. I'm a diabetic now and I have a hard time. I had a hard time when I was growing up in Staunton Va. I just feel like I will never have my dreams to come true. 😢
He was the man in the early-mid 90's. Loved his contributions to early 90's r and b as well as the soundtrack songs. The '96 Home Again álbum from New Edition was a great follow-up to Heart Break.
Seems like a genuine good dude
I love Johnny. I’ve always had respect for him. But, hearing his point of view. You can tell he’s very mature.
Wow love Jonny gill he's such awesome singer ❤❤❤❤forever 🎉😂
Johnny Gill is so humble, and I agree he does deserve more recognition. He seems to be the calm after the storm.
Baby that NE/Bobby/Al B Sure tour was a moment in history you just had to be there
That Voice❤️Love Johnny🙌🏾
Your Gifts Are Making Room For You Johnny..🙌🙌
Let's Get The Mood Right is still my favorite Johnny Gill album. I don't understand why that album didn't win anything. You don't have to skip a track on that album.
Yesss!!!! Love that album ❤❤❤
@@Blessed-tn1wdJohnny had a lot of hits on that album
@@RushBig0786
Definitely did. Whew! 😍😍
I’m glad I’m not the only one who adores that album. That was my go to when I was pissed. Those songs could soothe any savage feelings.🥰🥰
Poor timing, came out the same month as the NE “Home Again” album and got overshadowed. Had Motown waited and released it after the home again tour it would’ve probably been a smash considering it did pretty well despite being overshadowed by a smash album that he was on.
If you want your song taken over this is the man to do it!
That dark skinned brother caught my eye and that big beautiful smile, ohhhh my goodness!
Johnny Gill aka The Real Deal. Enough said.
Johnny is a solid 💯 very humble does not have a ego. Fantastic interview Johnny is nothing but the truth a wonderful spirit.💕💯☺️
New edition is the greatest and most influential r&b group of all time!! They are the reason r&b has hip hop in it. Since 83 they always had hip hop in their music. There’s not one r&b act that came out in the 80’s 90’s and 2000’s that can’t say that new edition didn’t have an influence on their music. Also name me any group from any genre of music that can say that every single member had multi platinum success outside of their group; I’ll wait!! And I personally wish they would state that every chance they get!! And I think it’s a flat out shame that they haven’t been inducted into the rock n roll hall of fame yet! They are first ballot hall of famers without question. And can anybody make sense of how artist and groups that came out years after them get stars on Hollywood’s walk of fame before them? Who’s ever responsible for making the decision for the rock n roll hall of fame and hollywoods walk of fame need to beat upside the damn head for not recognizing them before any other r&b artist that came out after them. And lastly, Johnny Gill showed the F out on hear me out girl! The range and power of his vocals is incredible.
NE Heartbreak Album wouldn’t have been what it was without Johnny Gill.
Home Again STILL hits, today 11/2/23
Quiet time to play and I know Where I stand are sooo underrated!! Classics…
Johnny grow them boys up. That what he did.
Beautiful interview. Mr. Gill is a class act.
I absolutely loved this interview. What a breath of fresh air. I love Johnny, but hearing his story and the phrasing of his words.. Very refreshing. I watched this one in its entirety. Without coming back another day. All today, for the first time. This is the one. Love it!!❤
Love me some Johnny Gill! ❤❤❤
Great interview! Johnny Gill is a living legend. He always puts on an excellent show!!
The BET biopic was so accurate
Great interview. The Prez always gives the best interviews straight with no chaser. Phenomenal talent. I hope he and his brother Randy consider making a Gospel album together.
Fantastic interview 💯😌,Johnny is straightened out of Wash DC home with the Mambo Sauce and shrimp boat. Benning Road 😹,very humble, no ego. He was the right person for New Edition ☺️ hands-down heartbreak was and is the greatest album from New Edition. They are still eating off that album after all these years 🤗,The last album was garbage that was with bad boys I didn’t like it 😳,but heartbreak is by far the best work.🤔
We lovvvvvve u Jhonnnnnnny💙🌹
❤Johnny
I can totally understand what Johnny means about having a complex about being dark-skinned. I was a teenager starting in the late 60’s and am fair-skinned. What a lot of black people may not tell you is how much flack you get from your own people as if you have a choice about your skin color. It is what it is. It took me years to get over my complex but as I grew older, I stopped letting people get to me about my skin color. I also have red hair (well, mostly grey now, lol) and that didn’t help so I know exactly how he felt.
I’m still waiting - Is one of his songs I listen to a thousand times
Yes I love that one but boys to men is my all time favorite 💯❤️🥰‼️
He us among the all time best male vocalists of all time
thanks johnny. thanks vlad. i like the interviews.
Great Interview that put an end to all of the rumors, etc...Thanks so much @djvlad for this interview. Hopefully, you'll be able to have new interviews with the rest of the members of NE.
Much love Johnny 😍
Girls out here still lookin for a red dress!!
This was an era. Def sang and danced to his music with my mother and sister. Gave me good memories cuz of dem good songs.
Johnny def a legend!
We got a Ricky Bell interview then we got a Johnny Gill now we need a Michael Bivins, Ralph tresvant, Ronnie deveo, and a Bobby Brown interview or vlad could get Brooke Payne himself but I think the next interview should be with Timmy gatling from Guy or get Marc Gordon from levart
Good selections
YES!!! I'm so glad I found this interview! Johnny is by far my favorite R&B smooth soul voice. A dream coming true for me this year-- I get to see him sing live! 😍 What a sweet wonderful soul he has.
He said Whitney tried to get him to do a gospel album... I've been praying for that for decades.. OH PLEASE, MAKE THE GOSPEL ALBUM... IT WILL GO PLATINUM! 🙏😍. What a joy that would be. 💛🖤💛
I went to the Home Again Tour '97 in Los Angeles and Bobby didn't show up. I was pissed for years. Ahahaha
I remember your brother Randy playing the bass guitar at Holy Cross on Larchmont Ave....Rest In Paradise Bishop Stella Mack🕊🕊💐
Word. Ralph was always my dude.
I love Johnny G. I wish I didn’t have to hear Vlad.
Same
AMEN‼️‼️ ALL PRAISES✝️🙏🏽. THAT'S RIGHT JOHNNY( YOU BEING THERE AND EVERYTHING YOU'VE GOTTEN FOR 40 YEARS IS NO COINCIDENCE!. I don't believe in coincidences ‼️KEEP ON SHINING MY BROTHER‼️‼️✝️🙏🏽🗣️🎤🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟❤️
I remember his tune with Shabba Ranks ' slow n sexy' back in the day. Yeah maaaaan.
ALRIGHT HERE WE GO, THE WHOLE INTERVIEW IS HERE, WELCOME TO VLADTV!!! So this is your first time here, so I wanna start in the very beginning. So what was DC like in the 70s? It is, what it is, Johnny Gill, always a pleasure, until next time, PEACE!!!
I still think that this guy is the real voice of the group..none of the others have the range & depth like him.
..My my my …I’m still in love with this man ❤❤
Spend the night is my all time favorite song of Johnny Gill
RIP GERALD LAVERT. LSG. 4 LIFE. MY LORDS MOUTH N BODY BABY. 1
Love the interview my dad was a baptist pastor too and was Streak on us to so I feel you on that part and me and my 4 other sisters song as a group and choir, group we was the Freeney sisters and choir we was Mt. chapel choir our Church is Mt. Chapel Baptist Church so I can feel you on some of that part. My dad pass 2022 but we’re still Mt. Chapel choir. I love your interview Johnny
Ronnie up next please. I’m a HUUUUUGE FAN. For this year I’ve seen the 2x. Now that they have their residency in Las Vegas I’ll be seeing the again in February 🥰🥰🥰
Great Interview.
Quiet Time To Play is a hit. I absolutely love that song.
Please interview Ralph Tresvant. Good interview with Johnny Gill. It's great to hear is story.
In Boise, Idaho in 1997 when New Edition came with Blackstreet to perform, Bobby Brown was late to the show and then when he arrived he brought Whitney Houston out on stage and she sang him Happy Birthday live. Was dope. One night in Boise!
Johnny is a totally humble chill dude❤
JG should play Luther in a movie!!!
Nope he would have to do things
Johnny is a great talent and a for real down to earth man
Great interview Vlad
He looks *AMAZING!!*
Outstanding interview.
I wish JG did the gospel with Whitney. That probably would have taken me to church today.
I'm having illu...havin illu...
You know there's this thing that only Johnny Gill,R.Kelly and Berry White can do on the bridge of some of their songs...
His voice is phenomenal so strong and serious 🎂💯🆗👍🏽🥰❤️💨❤️
I'm not a fan of Vlad at all but GOD KNOWS that I love Johnny so here it is in my face. 😁 Within two minutes, Johnny's answering my long-time question for him (why are you running from the obvious preacher calling on your life???)!
Vlad is cool as hell.
I don't like Vlad either but he gets all the black entertainer interviews so I watch but if black entertainers start going to black interviewers than I'll stop, plus he's literally a narcissist.
@@lutherodaniels3799 Vlad is on his way to hell and hell is extremely hot.
😮😮😮😮😮
That “Rub you the Right way” was a slapper!
Passing judgment before you really LISTEN to a person is the Genesis of turmoil and separation.
I LOVE JG❤ PLZ DO INTERVIEWS WITH RALPH & BOBBY
I love Johnny Gills Energy 🩷
Vlad interrupts too much. Annoying.. but overall great interview. Now interview Ralph and Ronnie
This the one
ISAIAH GILL. GOD BLESS YOU. 1❤
Bless jonnie gipps he talk will good. Bless you love you. Aman
Vlad interrupting Johnny too much.
Yesss! Very irritating.
Vlad stop talking so much, be more prepared for your interview. Talk about Johnny Gill, not Whitney , that’s disrespectful.
Exactly!
Rub You The Right Way !!! My favorite....
I will like to see Bobby Brown and Bell, Blevins and Devil interview
Find the clip of Johnny doing the national anthem. He’s being modest.
I'd love to hear him singing the national anthem. I know he tore it up. I was thinking to myself how well he'd do with it when he was talking about Whitney singing it.
As much as I enjoy listening to icons sit and tell their stories, can you PLEASE stop talking over them Omg 😭
🙏 thank you for making my up bringing with some amazing RnB memories for a life time..... Vlad you got a real 1 in that 🪑 👍
I could sense he was a Gemini 😂 I was right. I love Johnny gill what a cool dude. Such an important pillar in r&b music
