For the first time in the cinematic history of Spider-Man, our friendly neighborhood hero's identity is revealed, bringing his Super Hero responsibilities into conflict with his normal life and putting those he cares about most at risk. When he enlists Doctor Strange’s help to restore his secret, the spell tears a hole in their world, releasing the most powerful villains who’ve ever fought a Spider-Man in any universe. Now, Peter will have to overcome his greatest challenge yet, which will not only forever alter his own future but the future of the Multiverse.
Gotta give Otto credit. He gets cured of the deranging influence of the tentacles' AI and the first two things he does are say thank you and ask how he can help. Nobody would've blamed him for wanting to take a nap, have a good, solid cry, or any of a number of other things, but nope: straight to helping the others.
Just shows you he would never a monster
i can imagine if otto had constant headaches from those A.I. voices inside his head, glad that his finally free from them.
Well, this shows that Otto is a good man deep down. Someone who still wants to do good with his gift in science for the betterment of mankind. I’m happy to see him free from his robot arms’ influence. 😊
It’s probably cus the script is pretty shit
Man, I freaking loved Otto's character in the movies. :D

That line from Electro cracked me up (also the way he looked up as he said it). Makes me think of all the heroes and villains from all comic companies who received his/her abilities from “accidents”. Way too many “fallings and accidents” in the comic world. 😅

4:54 : I love Otto's reaction. His mind had been poisoned for at least a week and now he's finally freed from the arms influence.
It was probably couple of months.
@@diibadaa9502 No, not months. A week at best. I mean the arms wants everything fast, why would they force Otto to rob a bank otherwise? So no, maximum a full week.
@@Octolicia So he robbed a bank, bought the components and assembled the new tritium harness in a week?
Meanwhile Peter has this whole existential break where his powers stop working, he quits being Spider-Man, tries to rekindle his relationship with MJ, crime spikes 75%, saves a kid from a burning building and decides to get back to crime fighting.
That is an absurdly packed week
@@diibadaa9502 Sometimes, movies don't make sense.
@@diibadaa9502 Also, I said AT LEAST a week. could be two or three, but certainly not a month. Not to mention that he now has thrice the amount of arms to do his tritium harness. So what could take 3 weeks alone could take a single one instead.
I really love how much they emphasized Norman's love of science and the scientific process. Just little moments like him examining Dum-E in the background or the utter fascination he has with Peter using the machine. Really reminds me of how much Norman admired Peter in Spectacular Spiderman.
"Mary Jane?"
"Actually it's Michelle Jones."
"Fascinating..."
He has such a curious mind. Lol
Norman has legit been pulled off from the end of the 90s to straight up to the modern era where everything is so advanced. Id be fascinated too to see stark tech with holograms and renewable energy. Plus multiverse travel. Which is far ahead what the raimi verse had
Well, maybe you hadn’t heard but he is something of a scientist himself
JOVANI7
I knew Doc Ock had voices in his head but I didn’t realize they were constant
The voices are essentialy A.I directives from the tentacles, instead of him giving commands them, the autopilot nature of the arms that is engaged once the chip was fried took over.
Is not that the arms make him evil
Is that he has a goal of producing the self sustainale energy machine, so the A.I. gives him commands on how to archieve said directive as if he was programmed to do so, that is why he is so reckless in archieving his goals, he is essentially a living program trying to fulfill a directive.
@@MohamedYoussef.7 The arms do not make him evil but - and that nobody who wants to feel sympathy for villains because it is a trend nowadays wants to understand - also did not control him. They talked over him and convinced him. Otherwise, so with real mind control, he would not have been able to regain control within seconds in Spider-Man 2. No Way Home misrepresented that. The original movie showed that he just needed Peter as ethe voice of reason that he needed to be reminded of to get his shit together again and a few angry words for the arms that they should listen. But they also misrepresented Norman because by the time he knew Peter was Spider-Man he was already cooperating with the Goblin and ready to attack "Peter's heart".
Essentially it was most likely like having the amount of thoughts one person has quintuple
He heard voices in his head they council him they understand they talk to him
I’m confused were they still speaking to him after Peter took them over on the bridge
This hit me, seeing Otto become cured and decide to help Spider-man. I just wish they would have given him a bit more of a role afterwards. I mean, this guy was literally the Tony Stark of his universe and time. Otto designed a fusion reactor, AI system for the arms, the arms themselves that could handle and maintain a fusion reaction, and was FAMILIAR with Spider-man's nano-tech. Hell, it's amazing that Otto's AI system was even compatible with nano-tech. All of this in 2004!
I think the nano just merge with it and took control bc it’s a newer thing ig. Nano probably was designed to fit a lot of tech.
I have a head canon that Otto went back to his universe and being a long thought dead supervillain he took up a new identity and inspired by the ark reactor and nano-tech became that universes equivalent of Ironman.
In retrospect, Otto's tech seem like crude prototypes to what Tony Stark achieved and all Otto needs is to bring an Arc Reactor with him to the Ramiverse, and he'll finally realize his dream by not only having a working Fusion Reactor...but one that is portable (quite literally "The Power of the Sun in the Palm of his Hand.")
It wouldn't JUST be his dream coming true, it's something even BETTER than what he intended.
@@MetroXLR99 I mean technology aren’t really built like that. I can’t remember if an arc reactor was in his hand when he returned but if it wasn’t then he would still need to build something somewhat bulky like how Tony had to create a bulky armor and then work up to nano tech. Ofc it’s gonna be smaller than what he built at first and without the “sounds” in his head he will have an easier time doing so. And this time he may even have the help of his enemy-turned-friend Peter. You have to start somewhere.
no that was Norman Osborn
I kinda like how they make the villains more human. Dr. Octavius, Sandman and Osborne always seemed kinda human in the Sam Rami movies, but this kinda adds more to their tragic characters. Granted almost all of them are unhinged psychopaths or are possesed by something, but it makes them less of 2D villians and more like just bad people.
What are you on about? Doc Ock and Sandman were always tragic villains, as a matter of fact Raimi spent time on them being "normal" so their turns felt more tragic. NWH simply continued that...
All of the villains are good decent people. Not evil like villains from the MCU
I feel bad for Sandman, Green Goblin is okay, and Dr. Octopus is the best!
"damn, gotta be careful where you fall"
Same thing goes for Batman's villains too. XD
4:33 That made me happy he became good.
And truly the best character in the whole movie hand down!
This Octavius was always good, his true personality was outvoted by the arms.
in the comics, he and Peter switch bodies and Octavius' body is fatally wounded... Peter tells Octavius that with great power comes great responsibility and dies. Octavius quickly learns that Peter had been pulling his punches against pretty much everyone trying to subdue them.
I think you can see Norman's fleeting moments before Goblin takes over, in about 20 seconds. Starting at 3:40 ish when he is exhilarated and happy with Peter, s he was with "his" Peter. Then he sees the cure process for Doc begin, and becomes more serious. Still telling Doc to trust Peter, but I think the Goblin-mind is starting to realize it is in danger and that caused the initial shift. Then Doc calls him a monster, and Norman recoils, with anger not insult. Maybe even disgust, but the shift might have begun there.
There are so many subtleties with Norman in this movie it's crazy. I love it. :D
When Doc Ock calls Green Goblin a monster, I kind of see the expresion "Oh, you're one to talk!" on his face. But it's still super cool that you've been able to notice the typical Green Goblin mannerisms in these scenes! I'm not a super Spider-Man fan, so could never pick up on that stuff.
@@ursatzotschew7541 thanks, i watch stuff too much sometimes haha
He doesn't have the gap in his teeth tho, so I think this is just Goblin pretending to be Norman
A nice detail that some may not have noticed is that just before Peter puts the cure on Otto, Otto, still under the control of the tentacles' AI, says to Peter: "I swear, when I get out of this WE'RE gonna rip you in...".
He says "we're", meaning that the tentacles's AI was so afraid from what Peter was going to do to it and that it's not gonna have control anymore of Otto that it literally just spoke through Otto right at that last moment to try and deter Peter from "defeating" it.
This kind of attention to detail is just another reason for why I like this movie so so much! ❤
Otto Octavious also used the word we when talking to Peter earlier about Peter's questions. ****WE**** tire of your questions boy!
Seeing Otto happy again was great.
I love him the best!
A really good way to determine if Osborn is Osborn or the Goblin is by looking at his teeth. Williem Dafoe actually wore fake teeth to portray Osborn as it shows Osborns need for perfection and his need to display a calm and presentable personality. When he is portraying Goblin though he us not wearing fake teeth and you can see that theres gapes between the teeth and that they are crooked and bent.
Osborn was actually helping Peter create these cures, but when the time came for the Goblin's cure to develop the Goblin took over and attacked Peter. The Goblin was perfectly fine using Osborn to take out the other villains to lessen the competition, but only fought when it became necessary for its own survival. Same for when he attacked Peter again at the end of the film. All the other villains here neutralized, so the competition was gone.
But sadly Peter made friends with the wrong dude at the wrong time.
Wait the pointy teeth are Williams natural teeth?
"Damn, gotta be careful where you fall"
Words well spoken.
Does Otto even know his "Villian Name?" I mean when Mae asked him if he wanted fresh or salt water, he didn't know what she was talking about. That scene kinda made me chuckle!
Surely he saw the Bugle at some point in Spiderman 2, so I guess he was just confused at her corny joke.
Yeah it was a bad joke and it should’ve been avoided, god I hate the mcu sometimes lmao , aunt May should’ve just been quiet and locked away somewhere and maybe she would’ve survived. But noo stupid Peter wanted to bring like 4 supervillains in one location
Legitimately crying tears of happiness for Otto. He never had a tragic backstory here where he was turned to evil because of injustice or anything. Jesus just went too far _for the good of humanity_ and the literal weakest point of failure for him to become a villain broke.
He never wanted to be a villain. He wanted to better the world. He just had one small electrical accident happen to a chip and the AI poisons his mind. He tries to fight it but can't. He doesn't want to be like this but the AI pushes him to pursue what he wants in any way he wants.
So happy they gave him a cure here. He got to be himself again, whole. Imagine being able to give that back to the Joker. Give him his sanity and life back. Be able to turn him back around back down the right path.
He also lost his wife, that was tragic.
Of all the villians, I'm so happy that Doc Ock was the one to get a full on redemption arc with this movie. Like guy literally fights with the heroes against the bad guys😭. Doc Ock was always my favorite Spider-Man villain, maybe my favorite villain EVER specifically because he's obviously such a positive and hopeful person who views it as his to help mankind due to his smarts.
Imagine traveling back in time with a copy of No Way Home & showing it to people who just saw Spider-Man 1. Sure, they wouldn't understand 90% of what's happening in it, but if you told them that there would be 8 live action Spider Man movies in 20 years they would likely be both surprised yet excited for what's to come.
The wait would be excruciating
That would break the biggest rule of time travel 😂
I have to go with Nolan, you'd probably rip the fabric of the universe apart
I doubt many would be excited if they just watched Spider-Man 2002 if you tell them Tobey's movies would be cancelled only 5 years later 💀
How about instead of time traveling go into a different direction dimension where the movie never happened like imagine if that world got the amazing Spider-Man 3 and never got homecoming, far from home and no way home

That quick little interaction between Ock and May instantly reminds me of Oc's entire storyline from his comic origin where he was in love with May.

@@dannyhernandez265 I really do believe that the MCU May has a secret crush on Otto. Is because that he is a Bad A-Word Dude!

This is when the movie started becoming surreal, even more than what the trailers promised.
I love how Octavius spends the first part of his appearance in this movie like a prickly furious cat that's never known human kindness. He's been plucked from his universe where he's a respected man of science and a known threat taken very seriously, and thrown into one where magic is real, his greatest invention is bluetooth-hijacked to hold him prisoner, and he's treated like a joke by a bunch of highschoolers and a wizard. It's really awesome how this version of Peter thought to help them rather than just blindly fight them. He believed that deep down they were all good people, even Norman. And he was right, all of them were just victims of extremely unfortunate accidents that had driven them mad.
In the MCU, superhumans can control their appearance. That is why Electro is human in this film.
So Sandman and Lizard must also be in human form? :/
I just noticed the F.E.A.S.T. truck at 1:32. Martin Li confirmed?
Maybe?
This is why I like Doc Oc the most ❤
That's goes for me too!

“Gotta be careful where you fall” is so ridiculously funny to me
I like to think that this was Goblin the whole time and not Norman. And he was helping Peter cure everyone because in terms of his own power, he was the weakest of all the villains there. He couldn't compete with them in a straight up fight so he worked with peter to set up a cure for all of them to get them out of his way to take down spiderman himself.
Id say Ock is the weakest of all the villains there
Norman has bombs and weapons

She said it so seriously, it legitimately takes a moment to logically assess the situation, and subsequently realise she must be joking as that's the only logical conclusion.
The writers clearly loved the actor, the character, his first movie, and the fans aswell.
While they digitally de-aged him, Alfred Molina is Doctor Octavius.
What I love is this little known fact. Jamie Fox’s character Max Dillion just lights up when he sees Robert Downey Jr’s character’s invention. What’s cool is that Foxx and RDJ are best friends in real life. They starred in a 2009 theatrical drama The Soloist. Gotta love real life chemistry that even on screen characters can’t get away from 😂
If Parker fixes Osborn first, perhaps aunt May would have lived?
Probably.
The Goblin was probably just “sleeping,” in the meantime so he could get a feel for this universe, but as soon as he watched Otto get cured, it was like watching death occur for him.
Honestly, when I first saw this in the theater I thought Otto was playing possum. I was expecting him to attack the second Peter released the arm restraints. I was very happy when it turned out that Otto wasn’t lying, he really was free at last.

While it was impossible as they were running out of time, I wonder had Otto stood in the MCU a little longer if he could've gotten one of the advanced biomechanics companies to surgically remove and unfuse the arms from his spine, i mean they could literally 3D-Print skin onto hawkeye in 2015 so I wonder how far the technology advanced by 2024, 9 years after Age of Ultron.

Flint’s reference to his daughter is reassuring, considering where we last saw them in Spider-Man 3. About twenty years have passed since the events of that film and this film in Flint’s universe. So this means all these years later, his daughter is doing OK, and he’s still devoted to checking in on her. For all we know, they might’ve managed to repair their relationship and grow closer by now.
Holy shit....i just noticed all the badges as they walk in the door....nice call back to iron man 3 when happy was obessed with badges
It's so fucking lame that Lizard didn't go in. It would've been hilarious seeing him awkwardly navigating the apartment and hanging out with everyone else; imagine if he was in that cut scene of everyone in the elevator. He desperately needed more screen time.
Honestly the goblin was kind of dumb on his part to start attacking. When he had all the resources of technology to learn from and use.
Same sound effects as Spiderman PS5 when his suit is upgrading 😍

Since the villains are no longer clone versions, but have their personality and motivations made less intense due to the haze they are in, when they're brought into Peter 1's universe, Aunt May should tell Peter that it's safe enough to be around them as they're "essentially sedated", and the worst and extremely unlikely scenario - if one happens to retaliate, she'll run while he fights the person off. They have a strong motivation to not fight given that death is looming over them, so she feels safe.

Before, I said that Dr. Strange should be tied up in Flash's apartment, but now I realise he can be tied up in Happy's apartment. However, I like the evolution of Peter and Flash's relationship getting stronger, and him being ripe for Peter feeling alone and wanting to connect with someone eventually in college, where he can ideally meet Harry through Flash (as Peter connects with Flash through his friendship with Harry after a poor high school relationship with him, in the comics), and then Gwen and Mary Jane through Harry (Peter, Gwen, Harry, and Mary Jane is a core friend group in the comics). Aunt May will be onboard with Dr. Strange being trapped, but if Happy comes over, he may not, and him seeing all these possibly dangerous, powerful beings in his apartment is enough for him to process - Dr. Strange being tied up could easily be the straw that breaks the camel's back for tolerance here. Also, Dr. Strange being close by risks setting off some of the villains regarding embracing their darker natures, as he is passionate about murdering them. Therefore, Peter will deduce it's best to take Dr. Strange to Flash's apartment.
This is how I imagine a Harry Potter version of the scene where Sandman talks to Electro

Daisy: look at this place. A lot of possibilities
Lucius Malfoy: What? The building?
Daisy: yes the building. I love the plan. No. I meant the world. I love who I am here. I like it. All the magic back there? I could be so much more. Why did you come?
Lucius Malfoy: I have a son and a grandson. I want to see them. But he's not sending anybody home until he's done with his little potions project back there
Daisy: do you trust him?
Lucius Malfoy: I don't trust anybody. How did you become evil?
Daisy: Well when I studied at Hogwarts I was in the same year as Harry Potter's parents. I was bullied a lot and I had an awful family life. I was a not so famous potions maker. Harry Potter was the 1st person to ever tell me he was my fan. However he rejected to be my boyfriend and I got exposed to some kind of dark magic in an accident at work before that
Lucius Malfoy: hold on. Are you telling me you studied at Hogwarts in the same year as Potter's parents? You're basically harrassing a minor! Hahahahaha! You really are crazy! That's the dumbest thing I ever heard! Hahahahaha!
