Working in Memphis was an awesome part of my 16 years in the business. Didn't pay all that well. But the travel wasn't bad and the town's and people were nice. My favorite was Evansville. It holds a special place in my heart, mainly it was because I met one of my all time favorites Eddie Gilbert two Years before he died. I never got to work with him, but was on the same card several times. He gave me 40 bucks for gas one night when he knew I'd sent home all my cash to my pregnant fiance. Do I could make it back to Memphis for TV. A Super guy.
Sorry to hear this, but as a mechanic all my life you learn that ANYTHING can happen at anytime. Glad you're okay Nick, I've seen some strange things take place. As you know material things aren't that important.
+Steve Holsten I looked real quick but don't see that result posted for the MSC in Dec. 89. I was kind of interested to know that myself. Should have been an entertaining match.
sad show when i think back to how good it was afew years earlier in the mid 80's ... Billy Travis was the only entertaining part of the show , and he was in texas and not in the studio , and hes feuding with Dundee whos in TN in the studio but in a nothing tag match ... and Dutch is talked about a few times but never seen ... Lawler is out there just shitting all over everyone and not even being entertaining about it , which made them look even worse ... the whole show just seemed random

Lawler was on fire with his commentary: "This is a match of four nothing happening, non caring, ummm big. Big zeros." LOL
Nice looking mullet on the King. 40:46. I miss the 80s.
Yea, guess those lame jokes is how he picked up all the 13 year old girls . Freakin child molester.
Wow I didn’t know that Ricky Morton had a Brother named Todd. Wow this could have been The Rock & Roll Express when Robert Gibson wasn’t with Ricky.
Uh, no , no it couldn't have been ..... the mere suggestion makes me want to VOMIT UP MY DINNER ....
LMAO...Thats not his Brother. Just a Mark wrestler that used the RR gimmick.
@@bargainhunter2404 no, it is his cousin
I remember Chris champion in the world champion ship wrestling as a member of the new breed with Sean Royal what ever happened to them
Cool to see Soultaker (WWF Papa Shango/Kama/The Godfather) & Master Of Pain teaming! Both went on to bigger and better times in the WWF!
Morton's AKA, "The Golden Girls". Several midgets in CWA. The old rerefer knocked down and didn't see what happen. Also, the old foreign object trick.
Apparently the ampersand button on the chyron wasn't working that week, replaced by the British pound sign
“Wildside” Chris Champion later became “Kowabunga,” the Karate Turtle in the USWA Memphis territory in 1990.
Doin' Big Things
How much World Class Promotion had fallen by 1989. Having to give away tickets to fill the Sportatorium for their TV tapings 34:20.
Love Travis' heel turn!
old school wrestling .....gotta love lit
When Lawler was a heel commentator in his own promotion. Brown never answers.
Taker and Godfather go wayyy back
Taker was so good from the get go , just like Stone Cold was .
Morton brothers were a violent tag team, they like focusing the shots on neck and head. The heel version to the rockers of the WWF
The rockers were ripping off the rock and roll express
What ever happened to the wrestler with the red hair? 11:22
Dave Brown was an accidental heel! 😂😂
Keith Erich!!! If you had a manager like lou albano or the grand wizard, you would have a 20%chance of winning a match!
Yeah but that's only 50% of the time ...
actually Todd Morton is Ricky Morton's cousin
Lol no
NO! Todd was just RR mark and used their gimmick.

The ring rats was like didn't I just sleep with you ? Todd Morton no that was my bigger brother
He was what 5' 3" ....5' 4" tops ?
Was one of those billon dollar baby guys Paul freaking Lee?
Who won the match between Nate & Boss that week?
+Steve Holsten I looked real quick but don't see that result posted for the MSC in Dec. 89. I was kind of interested to know that myself. Should have been an entertaining match.
+TraderJack641 It had to be comical...
Considering how many times Boss Winters has been screwed by this promotion; I betcha it was Nate.
Wonder if the snake gimmick ever caught on with anyone ?

early taker n godfather
Yep, Memphis started many legendary careers.
I think Ricky Morton had a better career than Todd morton just saying
He may be dead!!
I just never liked Rock n Roll Express whichever brothers were in it. I dont know, just corny!!
None of them was Brothers, or Cousins like some claim they was.
And corny didn't like them either!
