I grew up on this wrestling. We would go watch em at the Louisville Gardens every Tuesday night. My granny was a housekeeper there and got us in. We got to meet all of these guys. I forgot Steiner came through Louisville to. Man this was the greatest wrestling back in the day.
Back when Wrestling was worth watching!!! No matter what Ricky Morton does I will always love him and The Rock and Roll Express.... best tag team in the world!!!!💜💜💜💜💜
Thanks for posting, I've been looking for the kiss angle on Dundee where he brought in Adrian for years! A side note when Lawler looks for Morton after the match it was filmed in the Louisville Gardens. Our dressing rooms where downstairs and it was a HUGE cavern.
TraderJack641 If they aired the cage match where Beasts head was shaved in Evansville I would like to see that also. It would be around the second or third week in February, we were going back and forth between Memphis and World Class until the end of Feb. The Evansville TV was aired a week later than than live show in Memphis.
That sweet soul, Tracy Smothers, Confederate Rebel also left us. I just found out. How do you keep dry eyes when those who gave us so much are gone, one by one.
I read in PWI around this time that Gibson came to CWA not long after and teamed with Lawler against Morton and Mantell, only to turn on Lawler and reunite R&R Express as heels, but that didn't last long, and in less than a year, they were back in WCW as faces.
They should have stayed heel. They would have made alot more money as heels and stayed fresh. Hogan too. You have to turn heel while the fans still love you in order to really hurt them, for them to truly hate you. It's why in 93 they were washed up, stayed face too long.
the first time I saw Ricky Morton turn heel waz when he waz in WCW n joined the York Foundation. i couldnt get used to him calling himself Richard Morton tho lol.
Dutch dragging Cooley across the studio with the bull rope around his neck… Lance Russell…as deadpan as can be… “Little Help Please” Lance was the man Lance was the man
Possibly the biggest Baby face in the history of the business. Loved Ricky Morton when i was a kid. It may have seemed that way because i was just a kid, but I swear i think he may have been the most OVER wrestler in the history of the biz. Women would faint if he touched them, cry and scream when he was getting the hell beat out of him, and guys would even try and get in the ring to help him. People literally tried to kill the midnight express in some places over the RR express. I've never seen anything like it since. Gotta love the southern territories wrestling fans from back then!
I saw this on TV. When I was a boy. It was like WTF Morton, and later he came out with a tux of some kind. That very same angle GOT COPIED by WWF for the Rockers break up
So Morton threw Gibson in a window? Was he wearing a leather jacket too? Get out of here with that nonsense, WWF didn't copy anyone for the Rockers breakup angle, it's one of the most memorable moments of the 90's. Partners turning on one another is as old as wrestling itself, Morton wasn't the first to turn heel by beating up a tag partner. If we follow your logic, then Morton copied the Rich-Gilbert angle? Or maybe the angle where Wrestling II turned on Magnum?
dynamo805 Yeah, the censors must've been asleep at the wheel that day. It infuriates me to no end the profanity (blasphemy) that is allowed on TV today, although n, f, mf, etc. are banned. At least be consistent, or else allow it all.
There is some good and there is some bad one but the good they do the right thing and the bass does the wrong thing anyways I know I have been watching this for a very longtime

Thanks for these uploads . I get to see my late uncle Danny Fargo wrestle in some of these shows. I really appreciate it.
Back when Wrestling was worth watching!!! No matter what Ricky Morton does I will always love him and The Rock and Roll Express.... best tag team in the world!!!!💜💜💜💜💜
Agreed
The Tennessee Stud,I grew up watching these guys do this show. It's absolutely Beautiful how these Guys sell the story and the Fight!ovw🌐
Can't believe Dutch Mantell wrestles in a sweater. That is a tough man. :)

terrym simms Thanks for the info about that arena, Terry! I'm glad you found that angle too!

Paul Z Before they filmed the angle they came around to tell us what was going to take place to avoid just such a incident.
Wow I've been watching this at least once a day, it was a HUGE part of my childhood with my.dad and brother, thanks for posting this. God bless
1978-1990 was the best wrestling era
I agree with you. I wish I was old enough to remember the first half of that period, but thanks to the internet I can learn a lot about it.
79-2006.
Damn! Action as soon as I hit play
That sweet soul, Tracy Smothers, Confederate Rebel also left us. I just found out. How do you keep dry eyes when those who gave us so much are gone, one by one.
Tracey was one of my favorite heels.Especially in later years.
R.I.P. Lance Russell
LEGEND
I love heel turns, Morton, of all people.

Whoa... heel Rock n Roll?!?
I wanna see it

DUTCH MANTELL'S BOOTS ARE RIDICULOUS!!
Called for help but only help available was 120 pound Randy Hales and a Robert Gibson look alike.
the first time I saw Ricky Morton turn heel waz when he waz in WCW n joined the York Foundation. i couldnt get used to him calling himself Richard Morton tho lol.
docthemetalfreak I never saw any of that, but I'd probably have the same reaction to that name. :)
I saw that on tv too
Finrod Númenessë congrats to the Rock N Roll Express for their induction into the WWE Hall of Fame

Funny you watch a RIcky Morton shoot interview and you realize, this guy is an ASSHOLE and always should have been a heel.
Keith Erich couldn't even beat himself!😂😂😂
Dutch dragging Cooley across the studio with the bull rope around his neck…
Lance Russell…as deadpan as can be…
“Little Help Please”
Lance was the man
Lance was the man
Looking back, its sad to think how much Memphis was about to go downhill. Lance would end up leaving, and things would never be the same.
Wendell Cooley had the potential but never the opportunity.
It was weird how CWA tried to create copies of beautiful Jimmie Garvin and Dusty Rhodes
A Sid face turn!
Charlynn Star Yep, I figured I'd let that be a surprise.
He swore by they edited it out
Caught me off guard

I wonder if that Terrace Garvin was rib on jimmy Garvin for something
Funny, Sid in 93 would be managed by fuller, golden became bunkhouse buck and Lancaster became a jobber and all this was in WCW
Master of Pain aka Undertaker showed up mos later
"An always-tough Keith Eric." Did he ever win a match?

At 35:49 I have never seen Lance Russell so uncomfortable.

I met Ricky Morton twice in 2003-2004
🎸 Rick n roll ex for life said Howard Youngblood and Bubba Youngblood and Charles Youngblood you don't say no he didn't yes he did no he didn't
Ricky promptly spent all that dough on a lot of blow
uswa needed gorden solid bad for excitement
Thumper? Lol. That's a joke.
😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
lol had to know this was a work dutch is to cheap to pay anyone off.
Morton as a heel, never bought it either company be it her or wcw.
Lr Adams Right! Horrible. Makes no sense in no territory
Knoxville tenn and rock n roll exp said Howard Youngblood and Bubba Youngblood and Charles Youngblood no he didn't yes he did no he didn't yes he did
Morton as a heel. One of the worst ideas in wrestling history. Can't believe he said Morton and Mantel forever. Nobody believes that;
