It's one of the most practical tools you can have when you are doing stuff around your house and build stuff. Nice to see that the 18v is just the long lost twin brother finally coming home.
Literally pre-ordered mine from a Makita rep in a local store in Japan and picked it up myself Monday. And it looks like you got yours around the same time. Truly impressive.
These blowers are the most under rated and misunderstood tool. I’m not in the Makita platform and I’m super freaking jealous of these. I’m probably gonna pick an 18v up and a Milwaukee battery adapter. So far I’ve used Amazon Koonie 15,000mah blowers and love them. I have the Ryobi one, meh, it gets uncomfortable and unusably hot after a short period of time. The Amazon unit is far better. Why no other mainstream brand had these is beyond me.
I keep saying (and trying to convince myself) that the 40V versions are unnecessary and stupid because i need to save my money more. Seeing that the 18V version did even better helped! Thank you!!
Awesome they finally brought this out. I want it for cleaning dust and dirt out of RC cars. Its kind of a pain getting out the compressor all the time
Not two weeks ago I bought into the 40v system just to buy the blower🤦♂️ the universe is against me
Me too !
same haha well technically I bought the 40v tracksaw first but that purchase was made with the dust blower in mind lol
Or it's for the 40V. Hard to tell with universes sometimes.
@@bakedbeings you know, I did decide to go ahead and buy a 40v saw and impact driver and they are the absolute bees knees compared to the 18v stuff or even Milwaukee stuff
Well I heard the 40v version is better anyway. Well I take that back apparently they have the same specs.
i also need a second dust blower to clean my dust blower, thx for reminding me!
This is awesome. I really want one of these 18v blowers. I don't need a very high-powered blower. I have a tiny little made-in-china $20 blower with a single Li-ION battery cell that charges from a USB port. I use it to blow dust out of my shop-vac filter and also to blow dust off my shop vac when I clean out the shop vac. I do want something a bit more robust that charges quickly and runs longer. I don't have 40V XGT tools, but I have several Makita 18V tools and batteries. I would definitely NOT buy into the XGT line just for a blower. I might one day buy into the XGT line for one of the XGT miter saws to upgrade my current cheap miter saw.
In any case, this blower looks like a great tool for blowing dust off my other tools after I'm done generating a lot of sawdust after cutting, routing and sanding wood for hours. I'd probably also use it for blowing dust and rust debris off my car when I'm changing brake pads. I used to do this with my compressor and a blowgun, but I don't like all the extra setup time and fuss necessary to use an AC compressor.
I imported one from Japan and use a milwaukee battery adapter on it. I wanted the tool for a long time but I couldn't justify spending the money on batteries for it too when I'm pretty invested in the Milwaukee system. Excellent blower and quite useful.
I am literally in the exact same position. How does it work with Milwaukee batteries?
@@2down4up seems fine to me, I've liked it so far.
100% getting bought. Been waiting for this since you first revealed the 40V version. Be so decent to blow off my snorter before it goes back in the toolbox; especially after ripping kingspan or wet timber. 👌🏻
Another great video Tools & Stuff. 👌🏻🏴
im on cocaine and reading this made me chuckle
If you have a 18 battery backpack (PDC01Z ) you can get a 40v adapter and run your xgt tools of lxt batteries :)
Great test. I've spent a summer blowing up inflatable paddleboards for my kids with my 40v version. A very handy little tool.👍
I think it makes sense because higher voltage, better efficiency, less energy loss.
I have 18v saws, drills, router, tire inflator, etc and I thought the stick vacuum with the vortex canister was the greatest thing ever. Now this comes along.....still have not pulled the trigger on the coffee pot, its next.
Quality video, thank you. Just bought the 18V version after watching your review. Awesome mate.
Very excited to pick this up when it hits USA retailers
Still haven't got the 40v yet.. it's low on my priority list .
But I'm getting closer to a purchase

Is the 18v model not speed-regulated as consistently as the 40v? Sounded like the 40v ran at the same speed until it stopped, and the 18v slowed quite a bit.
AWESOME to see an 18v version out!!! This is on my list for sure.
Thank you a lot! I was very curious for this comparrison! 🙂
Finally got all the 40v accessories for it! Couldn't get any in Canada and no shops in Australia/New Zealand would send them to me!!
Found a shop in Japan who would send them!
Atlas machinery
This tool would be so great for cleaning my LEGO collection!😂
Привет!Как всегда Вы самый лучший обзорщик инструментов,обзор супер!!!
I have been waiting for the 18v version!
Now it only needs to come over to The Netherlands!
Won't be long.
I want one too! When are we getting a teal 18V version in the UK 😲😃: currently use a leaf blower out and a can of fire alarm testing spray out of desperation to do the same job! 😂
I hate how the US market is always the last to get stuff like this!
Dunno if I could justify buying this. I simply use my DUB185 for everything. I know there are no fine attachments for it for getting into tiny nooks & crannies but it's never been an issue for me.
Agreed. Saw this and I'm like aww, I finally got the mini blower this year. I feel like the 185 could do more volume of air but I haven't looked. It does what I need though, otherwise there's a compressor..
Fan Favourite 😂😂😂 Well done Tools…
I will be ordering one as soon as it is avaliable
Can someone send a link to the 18v in that camo green for the US I can't seem to find it. The links here only send me to the original makita green color.
Seriously, please, can anyone tell us where to get the olive model… I search the shit out of google but nothing close came out😂
That’s how I will explain to my wife why I bought this blower. I need blower to clean the blower simply, what you don’t understand 😂😂😂
I’ll wait until these hit US retailers, definitely grabbing one though. Been waiting patiently….
A little surprised by the price though.
Do the microwave next!
This is the best tool i've bought in a while. worth it's money!
I love mine for car detailing ;)
One more use that you did not mention. When you work on the grill and you need to blaze up the brickets
It most certainly was mentioned.

Great review, thanks! Where is the rubber ring/attachment at @5:55 from? I bought the blower and the hose for emptying vacuum bags, but didn't get that rubber ring/attachment meaning I can't use it for that purpose.
im not swapping out for high V equipment why !? the difference in capacity is absolute 0
both systems are about 100 ish Wh
stronger? yes can be , especially in dual combination ,,
maybe on the long term you win a bit because you have a higer system voltage... for now ,... i stick to 18v
Another great Vid👍👍
Hope this is comming soon in France !
Should be.
Can you get a SUP pump adaptor for it?
Can you tell me how much pressure it can create? Is it suitable for inflating PVC boats, where 0.25 atm is required?
Let's gooo! :)
Sweet.
Thank you for this video!
Vacuum feature could have container
Need the olive, can't see it anywhere, was yours part of a promo or is there a store in Japan I can check? as I have a shipment coming from there soon anyway, thanks!
Good for interior car detailing?
Where did you get this olive edition? Looks soooooo cool!!!
They are slowly rolling them out around the world.
Will you be picking up the new one handed reciprocating saw?
I wonder if Dyson makes such devices. If yes, they might be more powerful :))
If they did it would be much flimsier and cost 5 times as much. Oh, and the battery would be dead within 6 months.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL It was just a joke, you realised that, I guess. Though not sure about the battery part, my Dyson hand vacuum cleaner is doing really well, just as new.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL
not if you buy the battery adapter to put the maky bat, alyexpress full of those things
Dyson stuff is over hyped…….great marketing. I’ve been through two cordless Dyson units the batteries they come with are trash compared to whatever cell batteries Makita uses.
Also been through two plug in upright vacuums. The quality just isn’t there for the price.
Bummer you have to cart around the hose to use the vac attachments. Would be nice if they just mated right to the tool, or, even better, a reverse lever just like the impacts.
When will makita start making cool looking battery for lxt platform like xgt platform has ?
When will this be available in Australia?
Where can I buy the cami? Please send link 18v
So why Makita started making 40v when there is apparently no benefit to 18v?
They do make other tools...
Still waiting for Makita germany bringing this tool on the market - no DAS180 on the website yet, and nothing about it in their "news" ...
Where to get the olive version???
italy, greece, spain, croatia
@@i1bike i am in spain and don't see it. link please.
@@Michaelibre
it was a joke, cuz you asked "olive version". Olives grow in those EU countries haha
Luv ya work of course, but isn't 2.5ah x 40v = 100 watt-hours 5.0ah x 18 = 90 watt-hours.
No, because 40v is MAX, not nominal, and 18v is nominal. So they are either 40v and 20v MAX output, or 36v and 18v NOMINAL output. So they are both the same, just marketed differently as Makita already had 2 36v systems prior to XGT, so as not to get people mixed up with those, they decided to call XGT, 40vMAX.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL thanks for the clarification.
Any word on the 18V dust blower in the US?
Is it sucking water?
Isn't the 18v air inlet slightly smaller? And in general the diameter of the body?
No.
Where do you get those extra blower attachments? Theyre not listed on any Australian websites
Yes they are. There is one in the description.
Do you know if cordless, cold cut saw is coming out?
There are several 18v and 40v ones already.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL I think means the stationary chop saw type.
Yeah sorry should have said that stationary cold cut drop saw Make a corded version but would love at battery version to come out
@@davidcarroll4123 HiKoki has a chop saw attachment for one of their cordless metal saws. Strangely, that’s all that’s out there. There’s a bunch of out of date cordless abrasive ones on the market. None seem impressive.
people ask if voltage is changeable XD tf!?
oh you go by the watt hours ok.
The nz link for 18v only shows 40v or am I doing something wrong?
They haven't been loaded to the website yet as they are so new. I will contact them and let them know they will be out soon.
Cool 😎
Makita das180 after use about 2 minute, its normal air coming out feel hot? & also motor
The air does feel warm when running it a lot. Perfectly normal.
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL so that mean air coming out feel warm mean normally?
Need this one in Germany!
It's on its way.
its now announced on the german website.
Hi. I bought one and now I wonder if it is ok. When I press the trigger it starts immediately quite high. How smoothly yours can start? I mean is it possible to press the trigger lightly and start the motor revolve slowly as it is in a drill? The flow is then minimal and very gentle. Or it starts and takes immediately high rpms and quite a flow even on the lowest setting?
9:45軽くて倒れる
Back to back….
Are the accessories of 40v fit 18v ?
This is why I make videos.
Shut up and tank my money.... C'mon Sydney tools/total tools!
Ive had my Makita DUB185Z 18v for years way more volume and vacum then this one
"blows and sucks" just like me
Great review thanks! Do you know when this might be released in the uk?
Within 2 months
@@ToolsAndStuffOFFICIAL 👌🏼 thanks
Purchasing from the eBay link you provided. What might the extra shipping costs be if ordering from Japan?
If you click on the link and put it in your cart it will tell you the shipping charges and any taxes.
It's one of the most practical tools you can have when you are doing stuff around your house and build stuff. Nice to see that the 18v is just the long lost twin brother finally coming home.
