Hey Guys,
Got another special treat for you guys who love this Fallout Lore Audiobook. While it's not another Storyteller Fallout Lore Audiobook, it is a Lore audiobook from another one of Bethesda's successful RPGs, The Elder Scrolls. Also that's not all, this is just the first of two audiobooks on The Elder Scrolls Lore.

@Isaac Vaughn did you forget that Microsoft bought Bethesda? Did you forget that Microsoft ALSO owns Obsidian? So that means that the Fallout NewVegas devs are all under the same roof again.
@@lvbuckeye just because microsoft owns bethesda doesn't inherently put the devs under the same roof. there's probably a fuckton of red tape to bother with. if not, cool, i anticipate. but don't get hopes up.
@@Astares9 also it doesn't guarantee that the same Obsidian devs who worked on FNV would even work on the new Fallout since many have left Obsidian and even those who stayed did not all work on Outer Worlds

I love the still shot you look at while you listen to the video. It makes me feel like that guy in power armor is just standing there explaining 4 hours worth of lore to me after I chose the option "Tell me about yourself." (As the girl in the back ground just casually evesdropping the whole time)

About time this appeared somewhere on RUclips. Years ago, this audiobook was a Shoddycast patreon reward if you pledged for the lowest tier. I used to do all the ingame cinematics/post editing back in the day for all four seasons. It's really cool to see people in the comments still reminiscing about the show after all these years.
By the way, as much as people blame Austin for the downfall of Storyteller, it really isn't his fault at all. In fact he tried to jump start the old team again, but all of us have moved onto other things and it's incredibly difficult to find someone with the niche skills required to produce this show to the level of polish the fans would require, ESPECIALLY the machinima aspect. I've always said there was a sort of "perfect storm" of conditions that made the show what it was back in the day. Everyone involved was very good at what they did, and most importantly, they had a lot of time to dedicate to it. Especially on the machinima end, it was very time consuming, tedious, and not a sustainable activity to juggle on top of a normal job/school. To add to this, Fallout 4's lore wasn't exactly all that interesting and even if anyone gave a shit about 76, given the online nature of that game, filming scenes in it would be infinitely more difficult without the console command prompt available.
Basically, the series was destined to end where it did, regardless if Austin acquired the channel or not. in regards to Austin i do think when he took over the channel he really had the heart and soul of the channel in mind, it was just that the soul was gone and everyone who worked on the show made that soul. do i think the show should be brought back? no let the show be remembered as it is, something to be cherished. without the original crew it wouldn't be the same. if he truly wants to bring it back it needs his own spin, its own soul, it needs to be its own creation something Austin and a new crew can be proud of and truly call their own. and i really think he could find a way to do it he is a brilliant man with true passion.

@@talfuris644 I agree, Storyteller had a good run and it will always be a classic Fallout youtube series. Unless a truly dedicated and unique production team came along to carry the torch as you described, then I'd rather just leave it where it ended and not try to milk it further.

Shoddycast had a number of good series back in the Days.. The Storyteller and the ElderScroll lore series are things I still go back to watch from time to time :)
The Shoddycast breaking up is one of the bigger tragedies I've personally seen on RUclips. The Storyteller in particular, is one of the best series I've ever seen here. So this cancelled audiobook? A great, sad treat.

On one hand, I really liked when Storyteller just told the lore without having story arcs.
On the other hand, he actually is a cool character. I like the idea of this Brotherhood scribe in t-49 power armor that is absolutely obsessed with describing history to everyone he meets.
Two years later and all I can say, is thank you..
This series is all that can help me sleep through the hellscape of the last few years.
The golden era of Shoddycast, back when they were the best Elder Scrolls/Fallout lore channel I had ever seen.

I'm convinced that at this point I have contributed half of the total views to this masterpiece. I decided that the narrator had a nice voice to fall asleep to so would put this on as a kind of audio book. Every day I would fall asleep within 5 minutes of listening. And the next day I would listen to the next 5 minutes.
I think at this point my brain associates the narrator's voice with sleeping and I am now unable to fall asleep without his voice in the background. Please send help!!!!

I was thinking a radio station, maybe doing segments for three dog. Im stuck daydreaming about the perfect fallout again lol.
There is a story teller mod for fall out 4 it includes the story teller and edna as one companion in diamond city. There is also a full set of t-49 (his power armor) witch can be found around red rocket and sanctuary. Just look up t-49 power armor
There is also a Storyteller radio station mod... with a segment from Three Dog if I remember.
The Wasteland Codex would be the mod for you. I'm using it now, there's also another one where they did a cutscene movie of the origins of BoS and even got Mark Meet aka Commander Shepard to voice OG Maxson

OMG! When I came across this, I couldn’t believe it! Hearing the storyteller’s voice after so long brought tears to my eyes and many a fond memory of the games all this lore covers. I could just imagine being in those places and being that vault dweller in those situations. Goodness how I’ve missed you and shame on Austin for not keeping up the channel! Thanks for all the work that was done to bring this book to all of us!

@Juicey Kisses I enjoyed both parts of the series. Mostly because I love the character of the Storyteller.
But yeah I have many problems with Austin, as he is more or less responsible for the dying of Shoddycast. I hope someone somewhen somewhere will revitalise the storyteller.

@Juicey Kisses Shoddycast was already dying when Austin got it. He couldn't bring it back from the brink. To say he killed it is to say an emt doing cpr killed the patient.
Besides I much prefer the straightforward approach of just hearing the stories. I don't like the stuff they tacked onto him. Giving him a bigger story and all that. It just seemed silly.

@@besserwissersmartass1170 the shoddy cast channel (original writers and creators of this series) was taken over from the original team by Austin, the guy who did the science. The two original members (brothers) have moved on to other things. The channel has uploaded only a handfull of times since then. I believe he was referring to austen as the gremlin. Which is kind of fitting since he bailed to work with matpat and usually half asses that too....

I was listening to music on auto play when I ended up here and for some reason I had the most vivid dream of me going to a mafia lord in the fallout universe and begging him to employ me for 5 caps a day and 2 meals. I was on my knees on a red carpet crying and begging to him for a job and protection

In a sense there is one, fallout 4 has an ibot that tells you random lore when you go to certain places.

The Fallout saga is hopelessly dark. There aren't even signs that things are improving over the centuries, except for the purified water in the Capital Wasteland.
Not really, throughout basically all of the series you constantly see civilization building up from the ruins of old, and life in the post-apocalypse has been getting more livable over the years thanks to the efforts of The Vault Dweller’s destruction of the Mariposa military base, and The chosen One crushing the Fanatical Enclave, of which if either threats to the wasteland not vanquished the wasteland would be worse off. And by the time of 2102 vegetation was already returning to areas not heavily bombed/irradiated
@@keithkania3810 the enclave was right, if left alone the wasteland would have been properly rebuilding.
Damn where has this been I never got to play fallout 1 or 2 so this is perfect for me.
honestly if you ever get a chance I recommend them it's a tough learning curve nowadays but it's a very fun unique game
