Great breakdown. S1 E4 is my favorite episode of my favorite season of TV. I know a lot of people prefer Ep 5, but there's just something I love about 4 - from Rust going back into 'undercover' mode, to the biker bar and the scene in Ginger's bayou cabin, to things coming to a head with Marty's marriage and those angry phone calls. A lot of great one liners exchanged too between Marty and Rust (the Michael Jordan one is my favorite).
Yeah E4 is my favorite as well. The way they insert an action-packed projects raid scene outta nowhere is awesome. The first 3 episodes are a slow roll build up detective story. Then BOOM you get this adrenaline rush that somehow fits perfectly into the story. And the raid scene is the first time the viewers get to truly see how dangerous and capable Rust can be
The first time i watched this episode, i was wrong about two things. 1st, i thought Lisa had pressed charges on marty for Breaking and entering and he lied that he saw drugs on her table to alleviate himself legally, made me really recognize the low he was in even though that wasnt the case. Second thing i was wrong about, i thought Charlie Lang was just telling lies for some benefit, until he mentioned Carcosa and the yellow king. By the time he mentioned the spiral, i actually got an anxious bodily response it was so freaky. I dont regret the misunderstandings, im rewatching to understand it all better generally, but this episode really, really blew me away even after i realized i was wrong
You’re not alone. Season 1 is full of so much detail. I’ve rewatched it 3 times and I’m still learning new things on every rewatch. I remember my first time watching, I didn’t even realize what was going on in episode 4 until the projects raid.
@@winterhillwarriors ohhh and the gawd damb projects raid! By that point my jaw had just been completely dropped, all that and that scene with rust stealing the coke and marty having moved in, that montage was fantastic, and the juxtaposition of Rust doing the best gosh darn undercover detective ever seen on t.v. probably, intercutting with Marty in THE MOST OBVIOUS "I'm a cop" outfit EVER. The last two years, I've watched a lot of tv. I have had A LOT time on my hands, and this is the most standout single episode by far.

Pizzolato as the bartender was a great Hitchcock-style cameo
I had no idea, fucks sake
Holy crap- what an epic breakdown. Made the workday much smoother! Thanks!
Appreciate that! We’re finishing up season 1 and then covering Season 4 when it drops
Nice breakdowkn ,watching it for the first time ,appreciate the review
Appreciate that! We’re doing Season 4 as well so stay tuned
Laughed so hard at the slim shady reference & how Marty Comment “insane shit in your ear”
Marty really bonded with Charlie there for a moment
What a ride! Cant wait for the next one, because Episode 5 is my favourite one.
I’d pay good money to have my memory wiped and to be able to watch those last few episodes for the first time again.
Can’t wait for the next episode. 5 and 6 are my favorites. Keep the content coming… I’ll binge watch season one one more time while I wait
That’s where things really ramp up. Thanks for watching- always appreciate the support
Thank you for correctly pronouncing Tyrone Weeeyms
I'm late but you guys rock and I hate Hbo for cancelling Warrior
Appreciate the love man. We’ll be dropping some Warrior stuff within the next couple months. Hoping the Netflix move can give it new life.

Big Tyrone from Malcom in The Middle
Holy shit I didn’t even recognize him
Hell Yeah ! Todd Giebenhain also played Francis' dirtbag friend Richie
when Reese worked at Circus Burger, Richie taught him "pocket transaction"
Primus has a song on this episode and they also have a song heard in Malcom in the Middle
A white guy with cornrows is gonna be a problem.
Always a scary sight
