Without question, THIS is everything a crime/mystery/thriller should be! Beautifully structured, brilliantly acted, and it just flows, from the discovery of the body tied to the tree, all the way to Marty rolling Rus out of the hospital. Great vid, great content, great job!

As an aspiring writer I will always envy, and thus attempt to replicate in the context of my scripts, the depth and the misbelief of the protagonist along with the pacing, the dynamic between the main characters, and process of investigating a crime that True Detective has created a blueprint of to look up to.
Where is part 2??? Great video guys, finally someone talking about this masterpiece! For me, its in the top 3 series of all time together with the 2 shows of the Breaking Bad Universe, BB and BCS. Like you said in the beginning, TD season 1 is probably the best single season in any series, but its hard to compare it to Breaking Bad for example, which manages to be fantastic in the course of over 60 episodes. The only single seasons that come close to this, for me, are Chernobyl and even if got ruined by later seasons, GoT season 4.
