Finally a proper episode by episode breakdown of this show. I could seriously watch 20+ hours of deep dive commentary on this show and still come back for more
I slowed down this fight scene on HBO MAX and I’m POSITIVE that stuntman really hit his head on the corner of the toolbox and I even saw a gash in his head. I wonder how Incan confirm? At 3:14
Found the stuntman named John Bernecker on IMDb, he was credited as mechanic in the episode cast. Unfortunately he passed in 2017 so I guess we will never know unless Matthew Mccounaughy or the other guy in the scene confirms this.
You missed the point of the bath comment. There's a sexual component: he was attracted to young women and did not want to get into that w his daughter. The pic also gives the sense that she may have been a victim. Yes, the scene at the ranch is supposed to be a wise retort by the madam but her rant is one of the dumbest things I have ever hear. The comment by rust is foreshadowing that Martin will have a relationship- w Beth. The issue with Martin is that he genuinely cares for children. The ranch scene, killing the cook; hating Dora, Dorie, whatever: hating her mom for being such a lousy mom; quitting the force because the baby was microwaved. Yes, there is childrenish scenes all over the place. Rust at Marty's house, looking at the girls; the girls dressed like prostitutes while they are on the way to see the mom; setting the imagination to picture the little girl being raped; Marty's daughters setting up the doll sex scene; the daughter drawing explicit sex scenes; the daughter getting statutorily raped; the description by Jonie John of the molestation and pictures taken; the pictures of the little girl and then not being able to see the other pictures so you know that they are of nude children; the stick thing in the playhouse; the stacks of dresses; the little girl standing next to the telephone pole: the whole thing is about desensitizing the audience to child sex. There's more but...
