I fixed this recipe this past Sunday, 04/28/24. My husband and I both loved it! Thank you for sharing your recipes! You are my favorite RUclipsr when it comes to cooking and recipes! I have learned so much from you!
Rachel, I like how you don't go too fast when presenting a recipe, going step by step at a pace we can follow without any trouble. Makes it really easy to write down the ingredients, amounts and cooking steps while you're talking. I've tried several of your recipes and another thing I like is that you don't often use exotic or hard-to-find ingredients, using things available at most supermarkets. I've also noticed your technique in mixing things, using the 2-spatulas to bring things together in the pan. You do that in almost every video. Nice to see that consistency when you present a recipe.
Looks delicious...moist n meaty. For small kids or girls day you could make sliders..still yummy n messy but a little easier for smaller hands. Love you our beautiful friend.
But who cares the more sloppy the better it tastes i just started watching your chanel and i been jumping around to different meals. Now im thinking along with getting the ingredients for the sausage bacon soup im definitely getting the ingredients for this for next week HAHA
You are the most amazing cook. Your instructions are so detailed. I have made several of your dishes including your potato salad and fried chicken. They were spectacular! I am 73 years old and have cooked all my life. I am learning a lot from you. May God bless you and your lucky family!
Rachel I love the way you cook and its all with LOVE and thats what makes it taste even better. Thank you for sharing your special reciepes with us , everything you make looks delicious and the ones that I have made for my family have been a HIT. YOU ARE AMAZING!
Rachel, I just found your videos 2 weeks ago and are loving them. Thank you. This is the first one I will try. I have more I want to try in the days ahead. ❤
Only thing I would do different is the addition of a fried egg on top of the meat mixture. Might need a knife & fork to eat that bad boy. Good Eats. 🍽🍽 I do that with my actual cheese steak sandwiches. Great for Breakfast too. (Strips of Beef, onions, peppers, mushrooms, a few sautéed pickled jalapeños, yellow mustard, mayo and a fried egg on a steak or sausage roll).
Rachel, do you have a cookbook? If not, how can we get written recipes with directions? I love watching your videos and how your love for your sweet Ron comes through. My husband and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary yesterday.
My best to you Rachel your terrific...Just smiling and thinking how nice it is getting older together, ah the memories of my dear friends having such long loving relationships and riding out the bumps in the road. I'm quite happy to say. Have a toast of wine here's looking at you... God bless you and Ron...
Would love to have recipe usually found in description but it's not there. Just love your recipes and your style. Keep it up, you're helping so many people to find "joy".
You have given me so many good recipes to make for my father who is 87 years old. So far he’s in love with the enchiladas mostly because of the sauce and the addition of the Mexican rice. Ever, since my mom passed away, I find myself needing different ideas so my meals do not get repetitious. My dad is going to love this sloppy Joe but he will most likely eat it with a fork and knife. Thank you so so much for all of your great recipes.
Watching you cook always makes me hungry, Rachel❣️❣️My mother had eight daughters and we would take her recipes and say to her, “Mom, You’ve got to make this recipe! You’re going to love it! “ And she would start reading it and immediately say, well I’m not gonna put that in and I’m not gonna put that in or I’m going to substitute this. And we tell her it’s not gonna taste the same mom and you’re not gonna have the benefit of this recipe. So as you were reading off all the different salts: onion, garlic, etc. as a heart patient/cancer patient I wondered if I should substitute those out but then I thought, NO! At least the first time you have to make it exactly like Rachel said to know if it really is that much of a difference because it’s a big batch once you had it all put together in that big skillet that was a lot of food and that is what people have to keep in mind is the ratio of proportion per percentage. So I’m going to make this wonderful yummy dish and be able to tell for myself and then I can Subtract the salts down if I need to. Another comment I wanted to make is that my children did not care for green peppers. But they would eat the other colors like candy: red yellow and orange. So I made many dishes using those and I never had any fussing at the table…. Now that they are grown-up, they will eat green peppers but their children won’t LOL so I find that they do half-and-half, and I don’t mind. ❣️ Eventually those picky boys will grow up too😊❣️❣️ Last, I love it Rachel when you say, “this is for my Ron”❣️♥️♥️ so endearing!! You can just feel the love that you cook for him with and it makes me smile in my heart flip for a woman who loves her husband that much to cook extra special for him even when you dish up whatever you’re cooking you do it with love and give him an extra proportions. So many younger women have lost the art of cooking for their Husbands 💕 It’s not a sign of weakness, but rather a sign of strength & sweetness in your marriage❣️ NEVER be ashamed of it♥️♥️
😂You cracked me up with the green pepper issues!!! My daughter Loved green peppers, raw & cooked, but wouldn’t touch a mushroom Anything!!! My Biggest Peeve was she wouldn’t eat a €*~# homemade hamburger-it was fast food all the way, so I had to always have hotdogs on hand when I made homemade burgers inside, or on the grill🤬That was the Only exception I made of cooking differently for one kid!!! NOW she Hates fast food burgers,& Loves cooking & eating them at home, cooked inside or on her grill🙄😂And she loves all kinds of mushrooms, & rarely eats regular hotdogs, bc she loves those spicy sausage things!!! She’s Always been a Cheese Addict, & Still has to have that nasty Kraft Mac & cheese occasionally, but mostly makes my homemade recipe,& has improved a good number of my other scratch recipes!!! Her newest Loves from her garden(which she said she’d Never have a Flower bed, much less a garden when she grew up(!), besides stuffed jalapeños, are fried green tomatoes & fried okra!!! I think the only thing she Still doesn’t like is my Southern cooked to Heck greens, but she actually Does eat kale,& even incorporates it in her breakfasts she makes ahead for the week🤢😂My BFF’s son ate green pepper slices & radishes EVERY Day,& was insanely picky about food,& now they BOTH can out cook Me & my BFF, & eat things We Never ate!!! I’ve been steadily, as in Monthly for years now(!),stocking her kitchen with gadgets to small appliances, with my goal being for her to have Everything she needs to make Anything she wants-a Dream I never managed for myself, making my quest even More special!!! It got kicked off from one year, when I sent a puzzle a month to her, for Christmas. She enjoyed That so much, that she asked if I would continue,& I sent something or multiple items for her kitchen, depending on costs on my fixed income, & it’s been a Joy, even with probably well over a thousand hours of research on so many different things,& so many new things available nowadays!!! Just finished off everything needed to make her own tortillas, & make hard taco shells in her oven, air fryer, Or fry in oil which she mostly stays away from, but it’s Also about which way Will be the best!!! All in all, the tortilla making things from press on, was several hundred dollars, but well worth it all, bc she can freeze them,& she Loves Mexican foods, plus be able to make Wraps, which is fewer calories than breads!!!
Looks delicious when I made this dish with exact ingredients it came out like really juicy so do I let it sit and dry up for a minute from the House of God Blessing ...so grateful though ..🙏
I have to omit the mustard because my sons and I are badly allergic to it and I’d omit the mushrooms because my kids don’t like them but I’m making it this week. Great take on sloppy joes. Thanks for sharing.
Rachel, you have a beautiful way of presenting you tasty recipes to us with love. Fantastic! And not just this recipe but all of them. Thank you so very much!
How delicious they look!!! I am in my car on my way to your house ...set a place for me too. LOL OMG we are cheesesteak lovers and I am going to try these this weekend. You make everything look soooooo good. Thanks for the recipe. Cookee
I've got a chair ready my friend! 😘 Thank you so much, I hope it turned out great for you, please let me know. Thank you so much for your comment and support of my channel. ❤
I'm from Philly, hopefully you have been to Philly and tried one of our cheese steaks. These look delicious Rachel I have been watching you for about 6 months. I love everything you make. Maybe one day we can meet your Ron and maybe the rest of the family. Thank you for sharing your recipes.
I made this last night to bring to M/D house along with cousins.. I tripled the recipe.. You're an amazing Chef!.. it was a hit... I enjoy watching you cook! Thank You!
Suggestion. Pre-shredded or pre-sliced cheeses are sprayed during packaging at the processing plant with preservatives that keeps the cheese from melting properly. If I'm cooking with cheese that needs to melt, I try to grate it myself from a block, preferably from the deli section of the supermarket.
So lovely to watch you. watery mouth all watching you.. lovely recipe real delicioussmooth tastey can do it someday but not as have it all there your In gredients.. . and mizz to watch you.. have a good day ...
I just discovered your channel and I’m already smitten to everything you have prepared . Thank you very much for sharing your rich Mexican culinary . Btw I prefer your blond hair in this video . Keep up with the love ! Sylvia from Modesto Ca
Those look soooooooooo good. I’ve been looking for recipes for my grandson that now lives with me. He’s going to love these. I can hardly wait to make them. Thank you, Rachel, for another fabulous recipe.
I love when you have the printed recipe available, I tend to just watch your videos with the volume off, and the tv on. I watch what you do, so i get the jist, and just recreate using the ingredients. BTW, I just love your recipes.
Love that you always Explain AND show us what iT is suspose to look like.thank you so much for thinking of people like me who can not cook thank you so much
OK so I made these tonight without the mushrooms just extra beef and they passed the "test" with flying colors! Rave reviews from my bunch and their friends, a tough crowd of picky eaters, not a crumb left on anyone's plate. I doubled the sauce because I used so much meat but honestly I didn't need to, the recipe is perfect as it is. Thank you Rachel I enjoy your homey, comfortable style.
Gonna try this one. My mom made regular Sloppy Joe's tonight but she didn't follow a recipe and just winged it. We both agreed that there was something missing. So I said I'd check to see if Rachel Cooks With Love had a Sloppy Joe recipe. These look delicious.
I made this exactly as explained for dinner this evening. It’s a nice recipe but I would need to make a couple suggestions. While we like L&P, this is too much. I’d use 1 T at most. The other seasonings were fine. To the sauce mixture, I’d also add 1/2 tsp corn starch otherwise the sauce is too thin and watery and is a mess. We had to eat ours with a fork as an open faced sandwich. I added the cheeses to the mixture but reserved a couple slices of the provolone for our open faced sandwiches. I’ll make it again. Thank you for the video recipe.

You are even classy when the food is sloppy! Looks divine!

I was just thinking... we always used a fork for those Sloopy Joe's! I would have never attempted to pick that up to eat!!! You are so brave!!
Lol!! I was sloppy, I do eat them with a fork too and alot easier. ❤
But who cares the more sloppy the better it tastes i just started watching your chanel and i been jumping around to different meals. Now im thinking along with getting the ingredients for the sausage bacon soup im definitely getting the ingredients for this for next week HAHA
“Ron” won’t be able to pick his up & eat it! She laughed at his, “sloppy” sandwich! What a sweet❤️. Bet her Ron - is too!

I love all your recipes.
My hubby and I just bought our first camp trailer and this is the first meal I am gonna make for my grandkids when we take them camping!
Yummy!!!👍❤😘
