  • Out for a late in the day first ride after the proper break in of the motor. I am totally impressed with the all new Superjet! This is just raw video with the sounds of the motor and the slapping of water.
    On August 12, 2020 Yamaha released the new 2021 SuperJet. This is the first complete redesign from the ground up since the introduction in 1990, and marks 30 years of SuperJet history. The hull is entirely new and it is now powered by Yamaha's 1,049cc three-cylinder four-stroke TR-1 marine engine. Yamaha says "This year marks the return of the Yamaha SuperJet, all-new from the ground up to challenge a new generation of stand-up riders with a torquey four-stroke Yamaha marine engine and nimble performance hull that is 142 pounds lighter and 8.8 inches shorter than its competition." Which is the Kawasaki SXR1500 stand up jet ski.
    The largest change is moving from a two-stroke twin-cylinder engine to Yamaha dropping in their three-cylinder four-stroke 1049cc TR-1 marine engine. The hull has also been completely redesigned from the ground up with a new 144mm pump, adjustable steering nozzle, and reboarding grab handle in the tray.
    The TR-1 marine engine weighs 160 lbs and is 30"L by 21"W by 19"H inches in size, producing 100 hp. It has an integrated oil tank, ECU and air filter onto the engine. The fuel tank holds 5 gallons of regular unleaded and for the first to there is a fuel gauge.
    In the last year, I sold three of my four stand up's that I had purchased in 2019. The skis I sold were the 1997 Kawasaki SXI Pro, 1999 Yamaha Superjet and the 2007 Kawasaki SXR 800. They were all stock with original graphics. The ski we still own is the 1994 Kawasaki 750SX. Great skis but being two stokes they have limitations, they are not allowed on certain bodies of water like Lake Meade or Lake Powell for example. Also, no mixing of gas and oil. The new Superjet performs and sounds like a Ferrari on the water! It's a beast and I love the way it handles, has incredible acceleration and feels light and nimble.
    Filmed with the amazing GoPro HERO 11 in 4k at 30fps with Horizon Lock enabled.

      Hey Josh! Where we ride through the hot, arid desert is amazing! Of course it's summer and it's 115 degrees but the Colorado River is refreshing and hauling ass through the backwater channels on this 4 stroke, exhilarating!

      Yes, in 1990 I bought my first Kawaaski SX550 and rode it a couple years and then sold it. Then in 2019 my buddy Matt who I rode with way back then said he was buying a couple skis and they were the '91 and '92 SX550's. I then went on a mission and bought four beautiful stand ups all stock with original graphics. A '94 750 SX, '97 SXI Pro, '99 Superjet and a 2007 SXR800. I sold all the skis except the '94 750SX and now we have this '23 Superjet. My wife and I and our small group of riders have been having the time of our lives riding these toys!

      @@billythephoenixi have a 95750sx and a 2023 superjet. I was contemplating selling the 750sx and getting an sxr800. Is there any reason why you kept the 750 over the rest?

    • @billythephoenix
      @billythephoenix  Год назад +1

      @@brettls2 that's a great question. I seized the opportunity right towards the end of Covid. Inventory was low and prices were on the high side. I wanted to get the all new Superjet and I thought it was a good time to thin out the Stand Ups. I sold the 99 Superjet, then the 97 SXI Pro and eventually the SXR800. They all went quick over a period of a few months. The SXR was by far my favorite but my wife loves to ride the 750SX. So to answer your question, she's able to still ride with me now on the ski that's just right for her.

      Hi John! Yes, we're really enjoying all the new toys and can't get enough of the river and desert. I don't miss the beach, the cold murky water and the crowds one bit! How about you, getting some water time in at Mav's?

      @@billythephoenix How in the world are you handling the heat down your way??? I guess cruising around in the rivers is one way, right? Phoenix has been setting records with heat. Are you far enough away to be OK?
      I've only been to Mavillette once so far this year. It was for a "going away" party for a local doctor who surfs. She is "upping" her training to become a trauma/emergency doctor and has to leave the area for a year to get her training. It was a great day, good friends, fun food and good times. I started off by putting my suit on backwards ( again ) and then after I got it on right, I caught a few rides. Since then, Mavillette has been almost perpetually shrouded in fog!!!
      It's been a crazy year up here since last fall. Devastating hurricane Fiona last fall, record wildfires this spring and just last weekend flash flooding that wrecked, roads, houses and took the lives of 4 people! Luckily, I only experience all that through the news but it I could see the lightning from the last storm all night long last Saturday. Some places got over 300mm ( 12" ) of rain in less than 24 hours!!!
      Out of necessity we got a new '22 Rav4 Hybrid as the 2000 Honda Accord was getting to be a money pit. We also got a 2000 Starcraft tent trailer after we got the Rav4 to take Allie camping.
      We've lost almost a month and a half of pool time as it was rainy and cold at the start of pool season in late May and early June. We're fine now as it's hot and I've had to keep the heater off as the pool was almost 90F a couple of times and that's too hot for us.
      Good to talk to you and great to see you on RUclips again. That Yammy sounds like a beast! Enjoy! Cheers, John
      P.S. Check for mail for a little something...

    Hey Billy this down by fishers and Martinez area ? We are palo verde locals and lunch at oxbow . Been wanting to stick a stand up in the palo verde lagoon and head down past Mitchell’s and Walters. Man these new super jets have my attention. They seem really nimble for how big they look.

    • @billythephoenix
      @billythephoenix  Год назад

      Yes, we're way down south. We rode our sit downs from here to Blythe last year and pulled into Oxbow and rode back a ways. The new SJ is quite nimble and feels smaller than it looks. I really like the acceleration and how smooth it feels and handles.

      What brand hitch hauler is that ? If I do pull the trigger on a new SJ I want a hitch hauler and be able to pull my boat still.

      @billythephoenix  Год назад +1

      @@joeltricitypools The hitch hauler came with a stand up jet ski I bought in 2019 and has no badging to indicate who it's made by. Maybe we could meet at Walters where they actually have gas on the water. We couldn't find a fuel dock anywhere in the Blythe area and there were a ton of watercraft on the river. What's up with that?

    • @joeltricitypools
      @joeltricitypools 11 месяцев назад

      Yeah that would be sweet we have family that has a place down there so we are at the sand bars or at their house often. As far as I know Walters is the only place up river with gas . Their used to be a small marina with gas by the Blythe 10 over pass bridge but last time we went the pumps were gone and we had to float down river for hours until we got back to oxbow. We had thought they still had gas but didn’t and ran out on the way back.
