Hi. I sat on tractors for many years and I think you did a great job enlightening us. I really like the part you added to your unit. Keep it up and when you get t h e matching m part for the othet side, make another video. I am subscribing, and you get a thumbs up. Jcl
Sorry for the slow reply...apparently I missed your comment when you posted. That side link has been a big help. The next addition at the three point will actually be to REPLACE that link with a hydraulic one! It will be a while though...they're "pricey"! Thanks for watching and subscribing!
Hi Chris! Nice mods for sure! My L3901 came with a bolt and lock nut to stop the ROPS rattle which can be really annoying. I like that ratcheting side link! Looks like it may be easier to operate than the leveling box I got to replace the stock adjustable side link. Loved the educational documentary commentary, BTW! I’ve made the same mistake a few times myself. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks Martin. I really love that side link, it's a real time saver. (That said, it's going away soon...hydraulics, don't ya' know). The knob on the ROPs is nice...it will rattle loose but since I'm always lowering and raising it for garage access it's not a big issue. 👍
Glad I bought a Branson tractor, it came standard with the adjustable side links (2 of them) and my ROPS never rattles. When a ROPS is made properly, there is no looseness to cause any rattle. Plus it was THOUSANDS of $$$ less......
Thank you for the info...it was all great. I hadn't known about the 3 point improvement and it's a very nice upgrade...the rops knobs are great...I did it over a year ago...just have to put some lock tight on them as they tend to back-out as you drive over rough terrain.
That adjustable link makes things MUCH easier! And you are right about the knobs Fred...they work great but they will back out! The nice thing is there is an alarm when they do...it sounds just like a ROPS rattle! 😉🤣 Thanks for watching! 👍😎
Thanks Ed. I prefer the dry, smart, subtle humor presented in MCG, et al, but I figure lacking that talent, I'll just club 'em over the head"! 😉😂 Thanks for watching and the feedback. 👍
Going to get both of those improvements for my LX2610. Noticed the dealer put a regular bolt in one side of the ROPS which I discovered its need on my first time driving the tractor. It's rattles up a storm. The knob-screw looks like the "ticket".....no wrench required. Secondly, the stock, right 3-point adjustment works only if you have a BIG enough wrench to fit the large jamb nut. Still...a pain to adjust with the implement load on it. The ratchet version looks like the "Cat's Meow"! And, no insanely priced hydraulics required! Many thanks for these tips!
Sorry, this comment got past me! You're right about the jam nut. In the video it is up against the other but I did attempt to adjust the angle manually while the three point was under load and the jam nut free with the same results. To be fair, my grip strength isn't what it used to be! Either way, that ratcheting link has made my life MUCH easier! Thanks for watching Dwayne 👍😎
Great video. I have an LX 2610 as well and purchased the ROPS anti-vibration knobs after seeing your video. I haven’t got the lift rod yet but will soon. I saw you have an EA wicked box blade. I purchased the EA wicked root grapple and highly recommend it if there is a need. BTW, beautiful lab. As GP Outdoors would say …Cheers!
Thanks for the kind words Paul! I'd love to have an EA Wicked 55 but I haven't added a third function yet. I have a much greater need for the rear remotes and to be honest, I don't have a lot of actual need for a grapple. Of course I'm sure I can come up with a few!
That's a good question. No, but only because I was just demonstrating the adjustment and wasn't about to actually use the box blade at that moment. 👍😎 Thanks for watching!!
LOL. It was great Chris. Some excellent mods to share with us - I never knew about the ratcheting lift rod. Nice! You can ignore part of my comment on your first video - you are way ahead of me! Just a note - I hung my shackle off my draw bar all the time for a couple of years without incident but a subscriber left me a comment a few months ago saying that he did the same until one day it had swung sideways on him ( it swings around freely) and he dropped his 3 point and it got caught under one of his stabilizer bars and bent the stabilizer bar. Just FYI. :)) Good luck and all the best of success with your new channel sir! and yes, I do drink my coffee off the tractor unless it is in a sippy cup...:)) and I drink alot of it. LOL! Cheers!
That shackle thing is something I had never even considered...much like dropping my ROPS all the way! 😉 I'm going to check it on the LX tomorrow! Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to comment. Hope you didn't mind me taking the name GP Outdoors "in vain"...I'm a big fan! 👍😎
Hey Chris. Not bad for your second attempt. Like you I didn’t think I needed rear remotes and top-n-tilt until I started using the box blade. Yeah wish I had got that with the tractor now. I too have a very difficult time angling the box blade from side to side. Front to back not as bad. I really like the demo on that. As for the ROPS vibration, my L2501 has a slightly different set up. There is a bolt that screws through mid point, not a pin. That pin must be an LX thing. Mine doest rattle. Anyway keep learning as we all are. Saw your lights on the ROPS, a video on what you have and how you hooked it up would be nice. Good luck with your channel.
Thanks Mark. That side link is a HUGE improvement, although coincidentally I was at my Kubota dealer yesterday getting the pricing on the rear hydraulic remotes. Not ready yet but going to start stuffing my piggy bank for them!
That's a nice side link. I really think with this, and a hydraulic top link you would be set. I put my hydraulic top link on last fall, and it is awesome. Nice install video, Jason
Nice upgrades Chris. I maybe wrong, but I think I seen somewhere if you fill up the link with grease, you will not be able to screw it all the way in if needed. Might want to keep your eye out for that. Keep the videos coming. ~Shook
That's a great point. In all honesty I didn't "fill them" unless they hold a whole lot less than I think, but I did did pump a fair amount in there. Will definitely keep an eye on it! Thanks for the feedback and for watching. 👍😎
You are correct. The threads should never be greased, grease attracts and holds dirt. A quality heavy weight oil wiped on the threads followed by a paper towel to remove the excess is all that is needed. The purpose is to prevent rust, no need for heavy lube/ grease because the threads are only used for adjusting the length, not constant movement threading in and out.
@@watershedoverlook A lot of machinery have zerks for oil. There is an oil pressure gun for them and it looks just like a grease gun. A lot of machines are damaged by people forcing grease into those fittings on those machines instead of using oil.
B2667 is the "whole goods" code for the ratchet lift rod. When possible buy parts as whole goods through "Sales" at the Kubota dealer as a "whole goods" item w and the price will be the same as the option price if you bought it new with the tractor which is usually much lower than buying through "Parts". Tires mounted on wheels are usually considerably less expensive when purchased as "whole goods" than when buying tires separately. A ratchet lift rod can also be installed on the other side if you want to increase the amount an attachment can be tilted or change the maximum height up or down an attachment can lifted or lowered. The ROPS on our B2650 doesn't rattle as the dealer installed bolts to tighten it in place before delivering the tractor.
You are exactly correct. I worked that out after some interactions with other viewers once the video was posted and they tried to purchase the part!👍👍 Thanks for watching. 😎🤙
I hope not. Besides the ratchet, it feels to be of the same build materials and quality as the stock, non-ratcheting variety. I'm sure you can bend/break either with the right abuse. Sure wasn't hard to bend my top link! (In my first video! 😉) Thanks for watching. 👍😎
Thanks for sharing love the hat... oh and tilt thing. That would be nice for both top and tilt I would get both but I am hoping to save up for rear remotes some day. Watch out here comes Chris in turn 2 coming up fast👍. Your videos are great I am so glad you jumped in the deep end right out of the gate. I guess I mean Good Job 👍 have a great Sunday ☀️😁👍
Sorry, they did not. I was able to find it in a parts diagram as individual components but not the whole assembly. The Kubota parts diagram was titled: "U85000 3-P LINK KIT 1(LIFT ROD) [OPTION]" if that's any help. Thanks for watching!
Where did you order the lift rod assembly? I have tried a few places to order the part number you listed for it but it come back as an invalid part. I can build the assembly from the options page of the parts diagram but it would be nice to order it as one complete unit.
I understand it's a new part number. I ordered it from my dealer, Hoober in Ashland, VA. I suppose they might ship. My salesman's name is Eugene...if you tell him you're looking for what I got maybe he can point you in the right direction? I googled the part number (right off the package) and you're right, there's not much there. Weird.
OK Ben, the number I gave you was from the product packaging. I went back and checked the receipt from my dealer and it gives a different part no: "B2667". I googled that and it does produce results. Sorry for the confusion. I'll update the video description!
@@watershedoverlook I just ordered from my local dealer this morning. Thank you for your help. For my dealer this is a sales order not a parts order. I hope that helps anyone else that is looking to purchase this.
Missed this comment apparently. I had a similar comment from another viewer who had a good idea...to replace the non-adjustable link on the left with the "adjustable" one that came on the tractor that I replaced in this video!
Greetings from Wisconsin! I just found your channel? Great videos! I've got my L2501 which I love, but they didn't have the lx2610 when I bought mine. Couple questions? Did yours come stock with the pin rops? Mine are a horrible design that are threaded, so it's quite a process to lower and raise them. 2nd, I'd love to see a video of that box blade. It looks like it has some interesting features like the serrated scarifiers, and cut out tops of the scarifiers for your hands. My latest video I'm not too impressed with the landpride 1266.
Thanks for watching Biker. To answer your questions...yes, the LX comes with the pinned folding ROPS. There are three pin positions and adjusting it is really simple. As to the box blade, yes I am going to be doing a video on it soon and the reason I have it and not the Land Pride is EXACTLY for the issues you raised. When I realized it had clips instead of pins I cancelled my order with the dealer and went with the Everything Attachments and have been nothing but glad that I did! BTW...those are some fine looking Labs you've got there!
You could not move the lift rod by hand because you had the lock nut tight. you have to loosen the lock nut first. Its there so that the link does not turn due to vibration during use.
You are correct that the lock nut was down...I should have loosened it for a more accurate demo. That said, I have attempted to adjust that side link with the lock nut completely loose and the results were the same. The ROPS on my Korean made tractor doesn't rattle - I wonder if there's something wrong with it. (I'm sorry, I had to do that) My advice to anyone looking for a tractor is to get all the hydraulics you will ever need at purchase time so you're getting your 0% financing on it, and you don't have to make a trip back to the dealer with it to get it added later. That ratcheting lift link is a neat idea for sure! So you have a place right on the James? Beautiful river!
