I'm sooo glad to have found this video Melissa! It so great to see a woman operating this equipment. I can hardly find any on RUclips.....My hubby and I always worked together on projects on our small acreage and I've always enjoyed operating our equipment. Since his sudden passing, I've been searching to find videos of other women operating the Kubota BX23S which is what I have as well. There have been days when I've been overwhelmed with keeping things up, but I have learned a lot from hubby and from watching RUclips...even to the point of changing a Toro Zero turn front tires; replacing the choke line, etc. It's soooo encouraging to see this video although its 4 years old. Keep up the good work! All the best!
Your enthusiasm is infectious. I have always appreciated your positivity. Today I realized that it is more than that... you have an innate curiosity and it is clear that you sincerely want to learn about your world around you. You give your husband and kids(and us) a wonderful gift with that quality. Life can be pretty awesome when you are accompanied by people like you. Keep it up and thanks, Melissa!
You really did great job Melissa. You have learned alot about those tractors by watching Mike and studying the operations manuals. You know the importance of proper instructions and you’re not afraid to USE the instructions as a reminder. You did a great job with the implement changing and the use of the land plane was excellent 👍👍. Keep up the good work and videos be proud of yourself because we are !! 👍👍. Fred.
Got my Bx23s two years ago. It is paying for itself over and over and over. I am astonished how much I do with it. Couldn't be more impressed with the little machine and all that it can do. Thanks for the vid.
Good Job! Melissa you are doing the right things read the manuals understand the safety and how things work. The only way to learn how to do this type of work is on the seat trying, you will get better everyday! Thanks for sharing!
Melissa - Great video. Thanks for sharing what you are learning. You did a great job moving that dirt. Blessings to you, Mike, and your family. Hi to Hunter, Hannah, and Eva.
Melissa the best way to learn to run a piece of equipment is to get on it and play with it. Keep practicing till you get it right. I have been running tractors since I was7-8 years old. I made a lot of mistakes but you don't forget what works. I am 69 yrs old. I can do things with a piece of equipment that most people think is impossible. Your never too old to learn so just keep playing with it. I taught my wife to run a tractor a loader and a bulldozer and also drive a semi truck when she was in her 40s. Larry Meskil from Jackson's Gap Alabama
All I can say is "Outstanding Melissa!" You are coming into your own. For the first time on your own you did exceptionally well. Mike is going to be very happy & proud. You should be too.
Think you did great for the first time mellisa. You learn by practice not from people not picking. Mike is all the instructor you need. Two thumbs up 👍👍
Hi Melissa, I am proud of you too. My wife made that dish you featured on your other channel. I ate some of it for supper and it is pretty good. She didn't have the gravy because she didn't know where to get it so it probably could have been better.
Keep up the good work, just found this video and subscribed for my wife, we just bought the BX 2380, not the S so no backhoe. told my wife she can use it but says she can’t, you can show her how easy it is. We get delivery next Wednesday so then the fun begins. I know your videos of you will build her confidence and make her gardening more enjoyable and easier, we have quit a few years on you (in our 70’s) but can learn a lot just by seeing how you handle that tractor. We will follow along...... So the seniors are watching
Outstanding, Melissa. ..Think Mike is smiling as big as you with all of your accomplishments.....If you keep honing all of your skills, I bet you could be the Lead Candidate for Head Contractor of the pool...And maybe Joey M could be your Apprentice in Training....
Hats off to you Melissa. You are an inspiration to many. Thank you for embracing the unknown and working through the new experiences. Best of all, you could see the immediate results of your work. Keep it up and soon that Pool will be in place before you know it.
Nice job, Melissa, be sure when the roll bar is up to have your seat belt on, I've seen some terrible accidents when the roll bar hit an overhead object like the tree limb you bearly missed - they will tip your front end up in a country minute. Stay safe, always be cognizant of your "total size" as you move your equipment around. After awhile you will get a feel for your equipment - what it can and cannot do. Again, enjoyed watching you working the equipment.
Great job Melissa, especially for your first run with the box blade. Couple of tips. For the finishing passes, lift the scarifiers up so you have just the blade cutting to get rid of the shank streaks. You can vary the blade's cutting depth by adjusting the top link and have the front and rear cutting blades do different tasks. I myself usually use the box blade for the rough grading and then switch to the land plane (which you will love to work with and you'll do great with) for the finish work. Will leave your work looking even better and will do it quickly. Keep up the good work and don't be afraid to dig a little deeper, it's just dirt and can always be fixed.......Dan from Montana
You did a great job. Especially for your first "dirt job". You and the BX are getting along well. The only 1 extra thing you might want to do is take your rake or shovel and go around the base of your new level area and do a tiny little drainage swale where the bank comes down to get the run off away from your new dirt. That should help with washing it away again. Tell Mike he did a great job with his instructional videos and your a fast learner. Keep the videos coming.
Hello from beautiful Ocala (Central) Florida again, Debbie here. Melissa you just make all of us ladies proud!! I so appreciate how you just put your head down and dive right in to any challenge set before you, and you always do it with a smile. You did a great job (as always.) #HaveADay
good on you using the bx23s .i use my kioti 25 hp -grade road ,mow, bucket cut trees all purpose and tight turn radius . showing less experienced using (melissa) makes tractors seem more user friendly.
That’s good work Melissa for the first time of using the box blade, the more you use the tractor 🚜 with the implements the better you will become, keep up the good work!!!!!!.
Good work young lady. I'm a strong believer that a woman's best feature is "Conference" . Nothing makes a woman or girl more attractive then her confidence. Yours is surely showing.
