So excited for this series. Glad there's a celebrity in the public eye representing afro textured hair. Love that you were so resilient during strictly, well done!
My children (boys) felt exactly the same way when i decided to wear my natural hair. It does take some getting used to but i am also embracing the natural journey
Lovely to see that I wasn’t the only one who felt like I had lost a part of me when I did the chop. Stopped my relaxer January 2017 and my big chop in the November. Still teaching myself to love me again but I’m glad I did it and love to see other women embracing their natural hair too. I still have a very long way to go x
Loved your video, please keep them coming. Thank you for being a representation in the media for our young black girls, and us as women that you do not have to compromise your natural afro. We are all beautiful just the way we were born. Keep doing you, your amazing and beautiful. Xx
It's the first time watching you and actually listening to you and boy am I taken back. I do not even listen to you on TV. Now a fan. Love your views and your audacity....
You can use flax seeds for a DIY gel. You just boil it for 10m, let it cool and then drain it through a stocking (sold in Tesco etc it’ll be next to the nuts). It’s a really moisturising and non-flaking alternative. I appreciate the simplicity of your videos and advice 😊 Keep it up 🙌🏾
sooo pleased your back in business and congrats on al your recent achievements :D Cant wait to see more of your upcoming videos x ive been natural for 20yrs n im debating to curly perm my hair just to switch it up, hopefully il b converted and stay natural!
Yaaaaay! I asked if you’d make a video abt your natural hair journey on one of your other videos & I’m so glad you did! I did the big chop 3 months ago & haven’t looked back :) Btw, the BBC should be ashamed of themselves. Harking I’m about diversity & behind the scenes they’re trying to tamper with your natural hair. The NERVE. X
Hey my namesake! Love love love the Afro Hair Series - what you're doing and have done in terms of representation is amazing! Can't wait for more videos. Btw, have you checked out Naptural85's recipe for DIY flaxseed gel? It's pretty good
Such a lovely video!! Thanks for sharing :) I've been natural for about 5 years but had braids til this year. Really needing to get in touch with my hair and take good care of it now...thanks!
Your absolutely gorgeous and your hair is beautiful. I remember watching u on loose women thinking how good it was to see a black woman on day time television rocking Afro natural hair styles and about time too. I am absolutely appalled to hear what the Strictly behind the scenes staff were asking of you. How dare they. Why should you not wear your beautiful hair in its natural form and its not as if u can't slick Afro into tighter hair styles (not that u should have too) too me it was just plane racist and u should have complained. Anyway that's negative people and energy. You be u and I think it's wonderful that your showing and embracing your natural hair. I am Happy to see black women doing this more and more. Personally I was never a fan of my friends relaxing or Perming their hair because it always look thinner and flimsy. Better natural.
It seems things are changing at the Beeb. Oti has been on It Takes Two with her natural hair and on the Saturday show in rehearsals. It just takes some feisty women like you and Oti to stand up and be heard. Your hair is beautiful btw.

You should have gone to the BBC's HR department after that comment
