I'm a bloke and your videos about taking care of afro hair is God sent. I've got a daughter a few months old. I watched the video making your little daughter's hair and your hair on jamaican independence day.
    Thank you.

I've been watching natural hair RUclips videos since 2009 and I can honestly say THIS video is the best video by far about understanding our hair. You illustrated the porosity thing so clearly and now I don't need to be such a product junkie. Thanks 😘

Hi Jamelia. I'm Michelle 🙋🏾‍♀️ Also 38, born in January 1981 like yourself and also from Birmingham 👍🏾
I have 4C hair, unsure about the perosity but thanks to your tip, I can now find this out. Thank you ❤️
My go to products are also olive oil & coconut oil or good old blue magic.
    Great video 👍🏾

Hi Jamelia, I must say this video is the most real & natural afro hair video I have watched on RUclips. I’ve been on natural hair since 2016 and I’m so proud of it. However, I’ve been searching for how to make it easier to manage until I found your videos on afro hair. Thanks for making it real. I'm glad I found you. Many appreciations 🤗😂❤️

    Hi Jameila,
I was pleased to meet you in Birmingham in October. You hair have definitely grown since then. I was using Olive oil and then I started yo try something else which is not working.
Will be going back to the Olive oil.
I also used Black African soap and it completely changed the texture of my hair although when it comes to length there is a vast improvement.

Great video. My afro hair is very light and whispy I think low to median density. So going to try olive oil and see how it goes!

I'm Mary from Kenya. I love your videos so much. I discovered you today and I've binge watched almost all your hair videos and subscribed. I use a mix of Olive oil and shea butter then seal with castor oil. My moisture is water and aloe Vera/ glycerine.

Great video thanks, I've used various shampoos over the years, i now only use the one you showed us how to make on your video, the black soap one, so very happy with that. I use Hawaiian hair gel, sealed in with castor oil. My hair is fine to medium, I think it's low perosity, but my hair breaks easily. It has taken 6yrs to grow my hair to approximately 5 inches, that's no joke. I'm slightly aneamic, that's why I think it's delicate. But i do love my hair. Thanks for all your tips. Sent from Darlington England ☺️

Good video! I have protein sensitive, low porosity hair. I've shared my experiences on my RUclips channel throughout the years, as sharing is caring and my journey has been quite the education!! Annoyingly, products will often turn on me. After much searching, shea butter was once a savior to my hair, until it decided to forsake me and mess up my scalp, big time! But like most cases, when you figure things out you're sweet. My hair and I are currently in a good place 😉

This video is so helpful to me especially the porosity test so I will try that out.
I use Cantu hair products and sometimes other brands such as Shea Moisture. This brand seems good for my hair so I will use this more often.
    Thanks for posting!

These tips are genuinely excellent , I need to execute at least 3 of these as I haven't been up until now... I can see why my hair has stayed at neck length 😩😩😩

But how do I know a regime is good for me? Do I do it for 3 months? Or is it about just sticking to something for 6, 7 or even 12 months?

Great question, I definitely should have mentioned this! I would say after a couple of weeks you will know if something is working for you. I would recommend keeping some sort of hair journal to record how your hair is doing. I'm going to upload a video on mine soon, so hopefully, that will help also ❤️
