It didnt. Radical just used assets from first title for a prototype(heh) of SM4 tie-in game after they got asked by Activision to develop it thats it. First game went through many iterations and was in development as a concept since 2004 after Radical shipped Ultimate Destruction and Prototype as a concept started with tests during development of Titanium engine. Search "Prototype GDC2008 gameplay" to see how game changed going from Sierra as a publisher to Activision for example. There was G4TV old gameplay from even earlier build showing even more different direction but that gameplay got smoked from internet somehow.
that Goldeneye remaster looks really sick! It's very faithful to the original game. I have another "remaster" of Goldeneye on Xbox 360, which was made by Activision, and it's basically CoD but with James bond assets.

I really wish that Goldeneye 64 XBOX port wasn't cancelled. You can't play that game unless it's from the original N64 hardware or through emulation. Heck, I wouldn't have minded a legit PC port of that game as well. I hope Nightdive Studios will remaster that game someday in the future, since they have been doing a great job at remastering games like Turok 1/2 & Quake 2.
