Pf, what a journey, losing your leader, transitioning to legends, devolved into a 3 piece, knocking out multiple platinum albums and losing another founding member. Man I love this band, album and most of their solo material, especially Syd's. Saw them and Grateful Dead the same summer before Jerry passed. Good times, never to be duplicated. Enjoy your short ride on this blue marble, passes quicker than your feeble human mind can comprehend😵 at least mine and I'm only 52, so says the hands of time, wow.
1994 Oakland Coliseum division bell tour, sat third row back centerstage vip golden circle. Absolute best stadium show i’ve ever seen. how time fly’s, man I miss the 70s 80s.
It was an amazing show. We were at the 1994 shows in Miami and Tampa! I also saw them in 1977 for the Animals Tour. Miss those days so much. We were lucky to have experienced the amazing music made in those decades! ❤🎶🎸📻
don't think its underrated at all tbh, talk to real Floyd fans and its generally inn top 3, High hopes is a bona fide masterpiece, marooned and coming back to life not far behind.
Not an underrated album at all... some beautiful songwriting and composition skills here by messieurs of Pink Floyd... but it is not a song (nobody sings) -- it is called a 'composition' :)
Yet another masterpiece in what some people would have said that this when their twilight years were. When your good, and determined, you will surprise those who see you ❤
Just listen how Rick's keyboards communicate with David's guitar playing. It's like having a dialogue between the two......and then at the back you have these beautiful unmistaken drum beats accompanying but not disturbing the dialogue between the piano and the guitar.....magic, pure musical magic that travels you somewhere in space!
I JUST had this thought while listening to it, and then I see this comment, preach! The Division Bell centers around communication after all, and how important it is in any given circumstance. "Speak to me".
Fun Fact: Elements of this song were used in the "Soundscape", a collage of music and sound effects that was played before the live shows on the "Division Bell" tour. It was only officially released on the cassette tape version of "P.U.L.S.E." But there are also pirated versions available for collectors.
I remember staying up after work, (I worked the night shift), to hear this broadcast upon it's release. It's hard to believe it's been 30 years already! Thank you for all of the great music!
Amazing album. 30 years that I have mine CD and love it tremendously. This one needs a 30th edition CD+BluRay with all those immersive 5.1 and Atmos versions.
A good soundtrack for the Northern Lights spectacle were seeing the next couple nights! Peace and love to you all and when in doubt...look to the heavens. ❤
Like so many others have said this was the best concert ever. I stood in line for hours to get two tickets for the Kansas City Arrowhead show. I managed to be in the first group to be able to order up to 8 tickets. Had a guy offer me $500 to buy tickets for him and I said no since I wanted to be as close as possible. The night of the concert was so hot and they began playing around 9pm with the opening song Astronomy Domine. I remember it still like it was yesterday. The most amazing thing was they played until past midnight! That night was also a full moon in KC which just happened to rise just over their huge background circular screen as they played on with huge pigs rising up in the corners of Arrowhead and lazers shooting up in to the sky. Best time ever!
One night, when I was 17 yo, I was listening to this album for the first time. It was too late so I decided to go to bed after this song, in order to rest and put the deserved atenttion in the morning. Surprise! I suffered a vascular incident overnight, and wake up with almost zero hearing on the right side. After medical studies and treatment, they concluded my nerve was damaged. Althought I recovered back to 60% hearing, there is a neverending beep in my right ear. I was sad because I could never propperly hear the whole album, but Im glad the last song I propperly heared was this, from my fav band in the world.
This is what actually opened the show at Earl's Court, I was sitting outside the arena in the cafe area having a smoke and heard what I at first thought was static until the keyboard kicks in and then I realised that the show was starting.
Are you sure? I thought I read somewhere that they never played it live. I didn't have the pleasure of seeing them on this tour. Didn't "Astronomy Domine" open the show? I know they played some of the "static" before the show began but that was a recording. If you're correct, I need to find a bootleg with a full show. Anybody know of one?
Saw them in 94 in Birmingham USA. First soundscape then Astronomy then entire Division Bell. They gave us a lot that night including DSOTM complete, Echoes, Shine on, One of these Days, In the Flesh, several from Momentary. Of course Comfortably and On the Run and others.
@@PaulHansen-h5y I've checked various websites and also Pink Floyd track listing books in my collection. "Cluster One" is NOT listed as being played at the show you're referencing.
@@PaulHansen-h5yYour memory is playing tricks on you. Either that or you have quite an imagination. "In The Flesh" was only played live on "The Wall" tour. Not the "Division Bell" tour. Neither was "Echoes." The last time "Echoes" was played by the entire band was as the opening song on the first few shows of the "Momentary Lapse" tour in 1987. Then it was replaced with "Shine On you Crazy Diamond" for the rest of the tour.
I can see David and Rick on that Houseboat in Amsterdam, trading licks back and forth, to make this track. I'd give anything to go back to see the Pulse show.
perfect tone setter for the album. Not only do we have Rick's synth looking to make a connection and David's guitar replying it emphasises the almost psychic connection between two when it comes complimenting each other. It was NEVER stronger (or have a stronger emotional feel) than here and it's why this remains one of my favourite Floyd albums. Nuts to the nsysayers
saw this concert @OSU Stadium in 94' 3rd row center seats 1 and 2 ....face value $32.50.....bought these for $165 each ( alot back then) but my all time #1 show...

O melhor show com certeza da turnê the|division bell ❤
1994 Earls Court Pulse. Can't believe it's been 30yrs, a magical night that will never be bettered.
I was at the same show! Those inflatable pigs on top of the huge speakers were amazing!
I was at the same show, center stage but further back.
The dialogue between Gilmour and Wright is so beautiful.
That's 5 minutes and 57 seconds of pure bliss.
Absolutely underrated album with a pretty good song to start it off

The way Richard Wright and David Gilmour hit those notes is just legendary. What an amazing conversation they had on this epic tune

I saw um twice on that tour in ATL and some other city I can't recall ..May she be at peace among the stars ~
