All spice is also known as Jamaican pepper or pimento. It isn't pepper like black pepper, it is small but larger than black pepper or juniper berries , it's round in shape and dark brown in color. It is a spice that has mild hints of cinnamon, clove , nutmeg with a mild peppery bite.
The rubber band is such a good idea to keep it together! Over the years I've tried so many silly things like squeezing lemon or lime all over it, keeping the pit and putting it back in like I don't know if that even does anything, trying to manually vacuum seal it as tight as possible into plastic wrap lol. Thank you for your tasty food recipes. Some years ago there was a type of avocado I didn't like. It came from New Zealand where most avocados were grown then. For several years now every avocado I buy tastes yummy. I find them very tasty. Dogs like avocado so be careful to hide the seed deep in your compost heap.
I think a lot of fruits and vegetables are harvested, and sold when they are still quite raw and have not matured - due to logistical issues. I have always found in these cases that even after ripening they don't really have the desired taste and texture . I had never known about the dogs and Avacados , but good to know now😁..Thank you 🙏

Great easy method. I have seen totally black avocados with some vendors but didn't buy. Are they different variety?
You might like to give it a try , I think the the ones you are talking about are quite creamy and would make great Guacamole.
