This is what youth is all about. He reminds me a lot during my younger days and if I were given a chance, I'd spend it the same. At least he never skipped school and only spent his times healthily with his friends. That's what youth is all about :)

I think his parents raised him right and its okay for his mom to be worried he just needs to find a balance and spend time with his family too but should trust him cause he is a good kid.

i get his outgoing personality and have nothing against him heading out after school and stuffs. but one thing i am sure is that there ought to be a limit. staying out until wee hours of the night is way past the limit. sure you may be having fun, but think of the mother who is so worried what he is doing or what is happening to him outside. to get a call at 12 midnight saying that you are on your way to the hospital because you are injured is actually horrifying as a mother. so it is best not to cross a certain line. she requested to be on this show shows how worried she is towards her son and it is actually a mental torture for her to be worried constantly.
Like her said. The Mother will think her son will do something bad like smoking, drinking or even worse drugs, or even face something bad like he got an accident or got kidnap. Lesson to this at least don't make your mom worry until she thinking something that shouldn't. Know the limits and don't overdo it.
I dont think so this is a concern. I'm senior in high school too right now, and I really envy to see how he have fun. he using his time with a happy memories, its better than you study 24 hours. that will make you regret.. I hope I can turn back time and enjoy everything like him..

Especially if you are on your teenage years.. Just like any other addiction.. Focusing way too much on 1 thing with no side hassles will destroy you.. I knew smart kids who play hard but also party hard and they got so much good memories than I did. Studying ONLY for 24 hrs aint healthy.. Studying while also doing other great stuff is much more healthier

Agree I just finished my high school and started uni and along with that I am preparing for a competitive exam but every morning me and my friends play for 2 and a half hours cycling around and siting in parks and I also watch kdramas and movies too from time to time... I think quality studying is better than quantity studying. And not having fun in your youth might become a regret in future. So guys have fun right now and study too so both future you and present you can be happy ❤️

Right. American and Canadian teens seem way worse during the ages of 13-18 ish. We also seem to have a lot more open space and are able to drive at 16 which leaves a lot of options and places. Around my rural Midwest area kids are smoking and drinking when they are 13 and 14.
This is one of those concerns where they could have sorted it at home...like the boy has his reasons, he's more adult than they give him credit for...i just loved what he said about his dad and his dad seemed surprised. I can't say what he's doing wondering about is worthwhile because it's no different to having a vice to escape problems but he seems content at the moment, it's rare to see people his age like that
I wish I had this much fun after school. This will be the best part of his youth and he will have so many stories to tell his kids when he gets older. Parents really have to allow their kids to have some type of fun with friends so that they can relive the stress from being in school for 8 hours a week. School will make you go insane , especially if you don't have anything to do after school. Let him be a kid, being in books all day will make him extremely drained.

You shouldn't think like that, no matter how boring or annoying school is, we shouldn't neglect education. For there is no guarantee that you'll land a job in your desired field of interest. And employers rely on ur resume to see what type of person you are which quite a lot is provided from school, where they put down your conduct in report books and leave other remarks. I'm not putting your hopes down, but unless you're 100% sure you can fund urself as a designer and have a stable income, you should prioritise studying as a student.
Your Mom Im not neglecting my studies i just hate the system. Yes you "need" a system for things to "work" but i will not spend my youth wasting time on subjects that will not benefit me as a human. I learn a lot more from youtube than in school. And also, i don't really care about my salary as long as I'm able to do the work i love and survive I'm alright with that because money will naturally come due to my talent in designing. Stay in school if your dream requires you to have amazing results like doctor etc or if you don't know what your dream is to keep your options open. Stay in school even if you have a dream but focus on your dream more, think of school as an backup place.
to those who feel like they are wasting their youth, i can’t speak on behalf of everyone, but please don’t feel bad about yourself ! everybody have different perceptions of ‘fun’, and it is totally fine to stay home and watch your favorite k-drama instead of sneaking out clubbing similarly to your friends. in no way i am saying that clubbing or partying is bad or not fun, but don’t force yourself into doing what you don’t enjoy. my sister is 25 and she said that she is the happiest during her 20s, not when she is in high school or being a teenager. don’t envy people’ lives because everyone is different ;)
I cried so hard when I found out it was due to taekwondo. He’s been doing it for 12+ years. I did tkd for 5+ before I had to quit and I can hardly imagine how hard it must have been when you have to change your lifestyle so drastically.
I would have been frustrated if the boy was cutting school but it seems that he is doing fine. He's just a little different because he does not lock himself up to srudt. He has a dream and i think he'll study well. Just give him time to do what he wants and he'll probably get tired of playing around

when he said he's doing taekwando and got bronze and gold medal. and wanted to be a firefighter because of his father. i think he have a good manners and raised very well by his parents. he looks so cool and manly as well...

I'm totally him XD Just recently, i went to Dean's fansign in my country and the next day was my national exams XD I really don't see a point in schooling as I already have a dream and it does not require me to be good at geography or math. I want to be a designer all i need is creativity. Thank god my mom is chill with my attitude but she stills worry about me occasionally.

i am guessing you are a singaporean then?^^ its nice to take aa break once in awhile. and i totally understand that. what is most important is however, putting your effort into the exams that is actually enough. and hwaiting in achieving your dreams!! it may be difficult, but it would be good to persevere and fight for what you think is right (logically)!

You shouldn't think like that, no matter how boring or annoying school is, we shouldn't neglect education. For there is no guarantee that you'll land a job in your desired field of interest. And employers rely on ur resume to see what type of person you are which quite a lot is provided from school, where they put down your conduct in report books and leave other remarks. I'm not putting your hopes down, but unless you're 100% sure you can fund urself as a designer and have a stable income, you should prioritise studying as a student.
Your Mom Im not neglecting my studies i just hate the system. Yes you "need" a system for things to "work" but i will not spend my youth wasting time on subjects that will not benefit me as a human. I learn a lot more from youtube than in school. And also, i don't really care about my salary as long as I'm able to do the work i love and survive I'm alright with that because money will naturally come due to my talent in designing. Stay in school if your dream requires you to have amazing results like doctor etc or if you don't know what your dream is to keep your options open. Stay in school even if you have a dream but focus on your dream more, think of school as an backup place.
to those who feel like they are wasting their youth, i can’t speak on behalf of everyone, but please don’t feel bad about yourself ! everybody have different perceptions of ‘fun’, and it is totally fine to stay home and watch your favorite k-drama instead of sneaking out clubbing similarly to your friends. in no way i am saying that clubbing or partying is bad or not fun, but don’t force yourself into doing what you don’t enjoy. my sister is 25 and she said that she is the happiest during her 20s, not when she is in high school or being a teenager. don’t envy people’ lives because everyone is different ;)

I cried so hard when I found out it was due to taekwondo. He’s been doing it for 12+ years. I did tkd for 5+ before I had to quit and I can hardly imagine how hard it must have been when you have to change your lifestyle so drastically.

I would have been frustrated if the boy was cutting school but it seems that he is doing fine. He's just a little different because he does not lock himself up to srudt. He has a dream and i think he'll study well. Just give him time to do what he wants and he'll probably get tired of playing around
