Any man that chooses a wife based off the fact that she has undergone the FGM is a bloody buffoon.
I completely agree. There monsters. Especially since they still continue to have sex with these women knowing damn well she’s in pain and she’s NOT enjoying herself

This should be considered a crime to hurt a child like that to me it's a crime the parents should be locked up
That would include piercing the ears and tattooing children.
M Crabtree genital mutilation is very different from a peircing and what parent tattoos a child??
Such parents exist in droves. As a physician, I see it all the time.
Unfortunately the government is too PC to stop religious or cultural practices like this. Some people are still doing arrange marriages at age14 or 15 or 16. And the government has done nothing to stop it,

I wasn’t vouching for men here, it was just a thought on how men have a reputation for doing anything if women allow them to, which is saddening.
That statement was ridiculous actually considering males are being circumcised all day every day as well and nobody cares. It's not a men vs woman issue, it's in the koran, it's in the bible for males, it has been a cultural and/or religious practice for over a thousand years. Logic is a beneficial tool that is available to all. Why cant we just say mutilating babies is wrong, it's happening to both. Actually the west is highly disturbed by fgm because WE only practised mgm, it was abhorrent to think this was done to females but none of us cared about the baby boys did we. I had to recognize my own hypocrisy and bias as a woman, and now I'm just against it boy, girl. If they want to do such things as adults then I'll step away but not children and certainly not babies of any sex.
I feel sick knowing this abuse is normalized. No one should go through this horrendous pain.
So is sex change manipulation of the genitals

Thank you for speaking out on this important issue. Yes, MGM is a problem in Israel, Africa, South Korea (introduced by the US during the war there), and a few other places. Thankfully, most of the western world knows it is a human rights violation and 80% of the world’s men are not mutilated, but outright banning it has been difficult, due to certain powerful religious groups.
But what I am trying to do is shock Americans into waking up, since it is the US that is spreading this atrocity throughout the world.
It’s absolutely disgusting how a parent can abuse their child’s sexual parts like that.
It’s actually quite common in the US to mutilate boys genitals, and it’s so ingrained into society as acceptable, nobody bats an eye 😞
It’s so vile. Its been known to cause the same type + level of trauma as severe & repeated sexual abuse. Some of these girls literally develop dissociative disorders . Most who endure an extensive procedure grow up with common but serious psychiatric issues. BPD, PTSD, even DID. As a kid, I remember playing outside with some girls, they went inside, got circumcised then came out like nothing had happened. We got so accustomed to it, I thought it was normal for them, I did not even hear any screams.
I'm a Nubian, they are number one culprits at this, and they keep it very low key. Alhamdulillah, My grandmom would never have accepted this, though her sisters 'tried' to get my aunty and older sis circumcised. These ignorant old ladies need to be shown their place.
My son at 2 years old was circumcised of necessity to end a medical issue. In males it can be a hygiene issue and must not be confused with what is done to girls.
Exactly
Agree. There are some cases in males where it can cause complications but this is a small minority of the time. If a male has had complications I have no issue with him being open about that but I get the feeling that some of the men who rail on about male circumcision are guys who had complications but don’t want to state that specifically. Why do they come to a topic that deals with women who have severe complications and who go into detail about that regardless of the fear or threat of humiliation and shame and talk openly to raise awareness? I think some of these guys want to make this about themselves without having to be as vulnerable as the women who have experienced FGM and whose space they are trying to butt into.
you will not believe how many men say: we are circumsized its the same it would be the same if i cut off hs eggs , and his forehead Then it would be similar. (sorry have to be carefull with words). However men can not have babies and in Rural areas often they have to cut out the babies in parts, because its to tight and can´t stretch.

@@danielbryce6072 male circumcision is NOT the same thing at all.
While male circumcision is definitely not great… it is not even CLOSE to the same. Cutting out the clitoris would be the equivalent to cutting off the entire tip of your penis (possibly more, then having the end of your penis sewn up to make a pinhole for urination), and you can never have an orgasm-not once in your life. You’re a victim of that, Daniel? Please tell me how much of a victim you are. 🤦🏻♀️ I’m sorry you were circumcised and did not want to be, that’s not what I’m justifying here at all. I live in one of the most culturally diverse areas of Australia, FGM is illegal in our country and yet we see several woman a week who have had this practice done to them. Most come from overseas already mutilated, some send there daughters back to countries where it is legal to have the cut and a few have had it done outside our health system in country. As a person working in the health sector this is a real issue in particular with birthing. Interestingly, it is also illegal for us as health professionals, to repair the FGM when it is torn by the baby crowning. Basically we can only make things into normal, not close them back to the degree they were prior. So lots of woman go overseas again after their baby is born and have it redone, then they get pregnant again and the cycle continues.
this makes little sense..if they are married why close it back up? it must make things very painful

Here in the USA there are surgeons who restore women’s genitals to pre-FGM condition. I was surprised, but it *is* possible, as much of the clitoris remained buried and can be uncovered. I saw an excellent YT documentary on it some years ago, sorry I can’t find the name or link.
TheAuntieBa using stem cells?
n h Interesting question! Probably could, but it would be very expensive, take a long time, and is unnecessary. The surgeon says there is still plenty of buried clitoris that she exposes when she opens back up the labia. It takes only a few minutes!
There are five videos on YT. Search “fgm reconstruction surgery”
It can't be the same. The clitoris END has many minute nerve endings not present in whatever little remains behind...and that's if it was a cliteridectomy...some cultures cut off EVERYTHING,including the labia and sew the vagina so small...
It won't be the same. It can give them more confidence and a feeling of carthasis but that's it...
They are able to reverse type 1 FGM by removing scar tissue off of the clitoris. There are doctors located in Nevada, California, and Georgia that do the reconstruction surgery as far as I know.
I do feel sorry for every Queen that had to go through this type of forever pain in her life😢
Lara__ no they don’t.
MGM is a bigger problem than FGM because pretty much every place that does FGM also does MGM but not vise versa. MGM is still done in many 1st world countries.
30% of males have undergone MGM while 5%-6% of females have undergone FGM. Both are horrible atrocities that need to be stopped but MGM is much more common so it’s a bigger problem.
Seeing all these people talking about FGM but not even bringing up MGM or sometimes even condoning it is why they wrote what they did.

Some activists do infact advocate against it...it is just that it isnt nearly as harmful as types 1 to 3, so it doesn't get as much attention.
Have you read about the one of the corrective procedures for stretched labia: labiaplasty ?
People wouldn't need surgery if it didn't come with some undesirable side-effects like chaffing or occasionally painful sexual intercourse.
There are alleged benefits too of course but we must ignore that it was infact classified as an fgm practice in 2008 by WHO.

It’s actually quite common in the US to mutilate boys genitals, and it’s so ingrained into society as acceptable, nobody bats an eye 😞. I am a victim 😭

Let’s join hands and end FGM!! 3 million girls in Africa alone per year are being cut 😢💔

Harming or humiliating in no matter what culture or religion should be forbidden long time ago.
We're all equal, every gender is equal.
If humans would think about others more than themselves, we would evolve in something truly beautiful.
Wow the woman comes across so strong. I hope she found peace of mind ♥️
I remember someone saying long ago men did that to their women over there so when the men went out the women wouldn't cheat...is that how it came about? That's crazy and sad. I didnt know they still did that!!! So isn't this for them not to have sexual feeling? How's that even pleases the man I'm so confused ? That's crazy esp when cultural differences goes against religious beliefs
Thank for your voice ... this needs to come from inside the culture ... we need outraged about this practice!!

When the interviewer asked “How does it affect you now” I think she really meant how it affects her sex life but she was beating around the bush...
Tee Goodas Omg... stop it. Leave her alone It’s too personal to talk about it. If it didn’t have such an effect on her she wouldn’t talk about it to stop this. She’s ashamed. I can totally understand her for not speaking about it. And if she says she still feels something; people might downplay it and say FGM isn’t so bad after all.
She probably never experiences orgasms. If females with clitoris have a hard time enjoying sex and climaxing without intense stimulation of the clitoris, how do you think females that are cut are feeling?
The touch might still be there but the sensuality and the sexuality is gone.
And of it isn’t only physical she might also be mentally or emotionally damaged. It’s hard to give yourself to a man with all the common insecurities females have. Let alone having a non-functional physically displeasing vagina.
Probably no affect on her sex life since she said sex wasn't a problem
Caramel Cupcake agreed although I though that if the clitoris was removed climax was impossible unless you have a vaginal oragasim which is possible. But she said sex wasn’t a possibel
Caramel Cupcake The vaginal canal is still there. She can physically have intercourse with a bit of help from lube. And there for get pregnant. But that does not necessary mean that she enjoys it or climaxes. That’s the whole reason why the whole vagina isn’t cut off. Or these backward cultures wouldn’t be able to exit because there’s no childbirth. But they believe that a woman is only made to have children. Since cutting of the external parts does not have consequences for most girls, they kept going with it.
But these ladies want children. Her having sex for children tops having sex for pleasure. It’s like a business transaction for these women. That’s why most of these men get a second or third wife to get their needs fulfilled somehow... even though the second and third wife is likely to be circumcised.
Caramel Cupcake Since she did have FGM, she has never had normal sex and cannot compare it with what she experiences. I’m guessing she means that sex is ‘not a problem’ because she can get pregnant and give birth.
Yep I was cut too. It's horrible. What a curse to live like this. I'm a male from America. We do it all the time to our baby boys. What a sick world we live in.
this is horrible :( I'm from saudi we have it here too in the arab community :(
Yes it still happens sadly in certain villages and in some tribes especially in the south region!
What really?. What do they do if a girl refuses?. I know what to do with my life. Put a STOP to this. This is child abuse. Shirk. No woman should have been given a right to look at somebody's daughter. I'm very greatful that if been brought up in the UK

They should definitely teach about fgm in school😢 If id have known about fgm i would have known a doctor offering to perform labiaplasty on me as a 15 year old would cause me the same life long injuries and problems. Labiaplasty causes the same damage but is made to seem like a minor, harmless procedure. I had my labia amputated by NHS doctors in the UK. It makes me so angry that young women are raised to not know their own body to the point that they think their anatomy is wrong because they havent been taught it. Then professionals agree to chop it off. Sickening.

This is correct.

@@danielbryce6072 I do know about male infant circumcision as I used to be a operating dept. nurse; it is sometimes (albeit usually not) medically necessary, never mutilates to the extent that FM does (e.g. you won't have your flesh split apart nearly to the bone every time you give birth, will you?), is performed by trained, experienced surgeons in proper operating theatres, not by unqualified people with rusty razor blades.
There is absolutely no comparison between male circumcision and FGM and I think it's very unreasonable of you to try . I suppose you're just another man trying to push women out of the way and make it all about him! Bugger off!
@@notamused3715
So, for his woman, it was a cruel, barbaric practice, but for 93% of women it’s totally acceptable because it’s done by professionals, and doesn’t cause them problems during birth?
And for men, child r4pe and genital amputation are just fine regardless of how the procedure is performed or the lifetime of damage it causes?
Got it. You’re just a brainwashed virtue signaling ignorant western woman, with zero empathy for babies, children, and adults. You’re one of the ignorant ones that we are trying to educate. Please do some research and learn!

Female circumcision will prevail and actually increase up until MGM is addressed and stopped. The fact that you are an operating nurse but have a double standard on this is disgusting and vile. In India, the Bohra community goes through this. They call the clitoris "haram ki boti" and haram in Hindi/ Urdu means something that's not pure. So basically the clit is considered unholy.
The story goes this way: when Africans spread throughout the world for trading purposes, they carried with them this tradition. Now as they are businessmen, they would stay out of their houses for months at a time. To "curb" the sexual urges of their women, this used to be practiced.
Funny and ironic, how something that's natural and biologically important to us, is considered impure cause society thinks it to be.
P.S. : I am not hating on anybody. I have utmost respect for all culture, religions and ethnicities. All I am saying is that, due to the patriarchal society, women have gone through and will always go through some unnatural subjugation. And this lady is so strong and she has my utmost respect that she chose to come out and talk about what's been done to her. Some women can't even open up due to the sheer pain and trauma they have been through, that can't be erased. Ever.
Thier are some cultures that dont deserve respect

When any woman is not free I am not free as well even if my chains are losser than hers....I feel your pain.
Absolutely!
I believe, the reason people aren't as outraged as they should be is self-protection. It's hard to admit you're wrong with something this big, that you may have participated. For the rest of the world not involved in this, it's hard to except this is happening. People are desperately trying to cling to a false sense of safety, especially in some european countries, that are deemed wealthy and safe overall.
I'm from germany, I never had to experience FGM. However, I was sold into a childpornography organisation, that tortures, rapes and kills children. I say this, because I have experienced first hand how people literally go insane, completely ignore or not believe me, because I talk about what happened to me.
Just as with the women putting their children through this, there is more reason behind not being outraged, than the patriarchy. If these kinds of horrible things happen to others, horrible things could happen to them as well and they can no longer feel safe.
Well said
