- According to a new rumor, a Sonic the Hedgehog mobile game focused on raising Chao is currently in development. MbKKssTBhz5, or Midori, has previously covered Sonic-related leaks before and has had a pretty good track record with games produced by Sega. Midori says fans can look forward to two new Sonic mobile games Sega is working on. Midori claims one of these spin-offs will be a Chao-raising game, while the other is a Sonic sports title. Both of these games are being developed for mobile devices and will be exclusive to two different streaming platforms. For all the details, my reaction, thoughts, and more, watch this video today!

Tbh, I don't have an iPhone or a Netflix subscription. There was never anything interesting to watch on there all that much, and I'm not gonna pay the subscription just for the game. I'm honestly upset that they're making these exclusive. I'll be getting the Shadow X Sonic Generations though.

I'm excited about the knuckles series, the third movie and new sonic games. It would be cute to see the chao return in upcoming future sonic games and i think it would be cool to let them appear in the sonic film series too
I like your take on this. Sega is trying to reach a wide an audience as possible. There are people who don't play Sonic games the way the fanbase does so reaching them through these major platforms makes sense. Sonic Mania being through Netflix games and Dream Team show that Sega is also planning to go more into the mobile space in general. I'm excepting more Sega IP down the line. Also while some fans might be upset, it's really not too much they will be missing out on considering these are smaller products. It'll be well worth Sega building up more potential customers for the next big Sonic game by doing things like this
When it comes to things like Chao gardens and Adventure sequels, I feel the Sonic managers have the same outlook as Akira Toriyama with his Dragonball series: "Oh, this is what the fans want? Okay, I won't do that. Let's do something else." At least Toriyama openly admits to it.
Sonic sports games have only really been the Olympics so its a good idea to expand that out with more sports.
Depends on if you consider the SEGA Superstars games Sonic games; if you do they're also packing kart racing and tennis.
I was always hoping for a new Chao Garden game. I was thinking Mobile game version of the Chao Garden would be perfect for the franchise, but I was blindsided by it being a Netflix exclusive. Talk about a bit of a letdown.

and the big problem with the subscription service model is that these games will not be available one day. a lot of apple arcade exclusives are just no longer available, period. that and you'll never own the game. if you don't have an internet connection, you can't play these games.

I agree, so long as they actually put time and effort, and make a well cooked game, unlike the mess that was Sonic Chronicles. I feel like that massive failure has been one of, if not the biggest factor why Sega hasn't tried ever since.
@@blue_gamer3691 Sonic chronicles wasn't a failure. It actually sold pretty well. It's because of ken penders that we didn't get a sequel.
@@alanemocab3465 Although i agree that it wasn't a commercial failure, the biggest factor in that was its initial sales. It was the first ever Sonic RPG, and Sonic was huge at the time. Many people jumped to get the game. And yes, Ken Penders was one of the biggest reasons a sequel won't happen, with all the echidna stuff that happened with him. However, a completely separate Sonic RPG game wouldn't have been hard to imagine. Unfortunately, considering the poor reviews the game got, as well as the fact that the game itself was rather botched through Bioware's work on it that didn't really happen to begin with. As someone who thoroughly played the entire game myself multiple times (even recently, to confirm if my childhood experiences were due to nostalgia or if the game was actually boring at many times), i can personally attest that the game felt like if it had been pushed toward release without being properly polished enough to be able to call it a full on possible success.
In summary, i agree with you that the game sold well at first. And i agree that Ken Penders killed any possible sequels. But unfortunately, the game's awful customer reception after people started actually playing through it gave Sega a bit of trauma regarding any possible other Sonic RPGs in general.
Regardless, i would love to see Sega try again with all the resources they have now and possibly make what could be a masterpiece.
I want to be excited for this, but my pessimism isn't letting me.
I'll believe it when it's released.

What other improvements can there be for a new futuristic Chao Garden game besides the disabled ability to abuse them and the ability to decide which lesson you want your Chao to learn?
I dont have high hopes about the chao netflix game, hopefully they release at least a mobile chao garden game but honestly we chao garden fans would damn pay for a chao garden console game

One thing I would like to stress as a fan of the Chao Garden - Midori is proven VERY reliable and consistent, but she never clarified it was a Chao Garden game, just that it centered on Chao. While I do believe it’s a Garden-style game, we do need to consider that ‘Sonic Chao Guardians’ could arguably be something unrelated to the Garden or something with only a splinter of Garden elements. For all we know, it could be Chao in Space or something new. Again, I do believe it is legit with Midori, but nothing is confirmed it’s a Chao GARDEN game. But I believe it will be, but I just wanna set expectations since nothing of the content is confirmed.
I understand the practicality this will be about raising Chao, but nothing in her tweets confirmed it was about raising them; the article is taking several liberties and assumptions with her tweets when they didn’t mention them being raising a Chao. Again, I do think it is going to be about raising Chao, but nothing about gameplay is confirmed or alluded to by Midori in the way this article claims.

Chao Garden should be on Android and iphone. Sticking it on Netflix makes no sense at all. Sonic Prime is a Netflix show but has no Chao in it. We should be able to raise them on mobile devices and challenge other people's Chao online.

What I'd really like is an Anniversary game inspired by Kirby Star Allies, namely the Dream Friends.
Amy, in addition to her hammer and cards, for example, could have the Super Peel Out added to her moveset. Blaze could Boost and use her attacks from her boss fight. Sage could cyloop. Shadow and Rouge could have their projectile attacks; Chaos Spear and Black Wave. Knuckles could be the Avatar with Sonic's Air abilities in Sonic3&K.
I don't even care if it's 3D or 2D.

Apple arcade and Netflix games exclusives are so fuckin stupid.. Didn't wait 20 years to play shovel-wear. A Chao garden mobile Netflix exclusive game filled with micro transactions sounds extremely disappointing..
The best case scenario would have been if SA3 has a Chao garden that allows you to upload your chaos online and to your phone. It would basically replace the VMU and Game Boy advance from the original Chao gardens.
Honestly I believe the Chao Garden coming out will probably be an improved Tiny Chao Garden. Yet the only downside is I would need to ask my folks for their Netflix password. Yet I have a feeling that the Chao mobile game could be used as a hub to transport Chao between games with a Chao Garden in them.
@@zenvariety9383 Don't like the idea of my game being tied to us subscription service.. Especially one I don't own.. and if it's pretty much just a larger tiny Chao garden I don't think it's a good idea to randomly shovel it out when fans have been waiting so long.
