While the Sonic The Hedgehog franchise is seeing massive success with the movie franchise that was launched in 2020, we went 30 years without a Sonic movie in theaters, that's a long time! But surely Sonic had some kind of presence in Hollywood even if he didn't have his own films? Well yes! Sonic has made a bunch of cameos in movies dating all the way back to 1992 to the past year in 2023. There's a lot to go over, so to find out every Sonic movie cameo, watch today's video!

The most unexpected Sonic movie cameo for me was Chip N' Dale Rescue Rangers Ugly Sonic's cameo. That completely shocked me when I saw Sonic in a Disney movie, I'm surprised SEGA gave Disney the license to have Sonic in that film lol. 😂

My girlfriend and I are huge Sonic fans, but she’s like, way more into it than me.
When we went to see the premiere of Transformers Rise Of The Beasts, she got so excited over Noah & Chris calling themselves “Sonic & Tails” over the walkie-talkies, and Mirage later being called “Knuckles.” I admit, it made me smile as well. It was a cute reference.
Ready Player One and Disney's Wreck It-Ralph 1 & 2 were the best moments with a Sonic cameo. And I love those movies, on top of that.

@@mayracordero382he shows up the first time you see tracer he’s super tiny so he’s easy to miss and then in the final fight there’s a shot where he runs with the camera and then kills like 2/3 guys with a homing attack again he’s super easy to miss if your not looking for him but in the final fight scene he jumps up spins and there’s even a sound effect for it so it’s a little easier to notice him

Sonic was going to appear in another scene where he, Q-Bert, and the main characters check out the Wi-Fi router, even avoiding some security with spin dashes. He's also the only character in the Japanese version of the franchise to use his original voice actor, Jun'nichi Kanemaru (While a few Street Fighter characters keep their voice actors in the English version, they have new ones for the Japanese)
Sonic's cameo in Chip n Dale was originally going to be Jar Jar. They didn't go through with it, possibly linked to Jar Jar's actor almost killing himself after having to be known as the guy who played the most hated Star Wars character. So they went with Ugly Sonic instead

What crazy about Ready Player One is that there is probably going to be a Ready Player Two, which also has its own book. In the book, there is an entire paragraph talking about Sonic, and there is dialogue that said "He just went Sonic.exe on us!" This means that if the movie completely follows the book we'll not only get a Sonic cameo, but also a cameo about his infamous creepypasta, Sonic.exe.
Candy can lane also has a voice line of one of the characters mentioning Sonic
The only tv Sonic cameo I can think of is Breaking Bad with them playing Sonic 06
can i just say its super satisfying that they gave sonic a dynamic mouth instead of keeping it centered or to the side in both wreck it ralph films? it looks so much more natural than how the games treat it

To anyone who didn’t like Ugly Sonic and felt that his role was “disrespectful”, I will remind those people of that they make it clear that Sonic and Ugly Sonic are two separate entities. The Sonic of the Paramount movies is just enjoying all the success and Ugly Sonic is basically like an out of work actor who never got that same sort of fame as the real Sonic.

There is another Movie Cameo you missed 😢 Josie and the Pussycats Movie has sooooo many Sonic and Sega IP references throughout the whole film. Sonic and even Space Channel 5 merchandise appears quite often

Disney was definitely cooking with the Sonic cameos. I appreciate that in the Wreck-It-Ralph movies and Chip n' Dale Rescue Rangers, they make him an actual character with plot significance.
Ugly Sonic didn't actually save the world like the real Sonic did but he is DEFINITELY still a hero. I see no reason they can't be friends, after all whether or not you get a role cast in Hollywood isn't a personal attack it just either works or doesn't.
After all these years of being the “golden boy” of Sega, it was definitely about time that Sonic the Hedgehog has the respect that he rightfully earned, especially when he had a shoutout in the Game Awards which, by my knowledge, is the very first time that has ever happened, despite being one of the most iconic figures in the video gaming industry. With this new era that we’re now ushering in, the future is looking very bright for him and for all of us who are faithful to the franchise. 🦔💙

Just saw the Bollywood movie "Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge" for the first time and noticed Sonic on a cereal box in the beginning of the movie, in the first 5 minutes.

Did you know that we could get a sonic and Garfield crossover why cus if we look in google to sonic and Garfield pack they combined sonic games and Garfield games into one disc called Baku Baku in pc and there’s one production and sponsorship connecting the two if we look at sonic movie 1 the gonverment handing over sonic parents is a Olive Garden card and if we look at the Garfield trailer what bag do we see him eating in the fridge when Jon opens it and shocked am Olive Garden bag and the second trailer when Vic is talking to Garfield in the train Garfield says you honestly never been into an Olive Garden.
