I LOVE LOVE LOVE the whole forgiveness storyline!!
I also enjoyed the part after the theme music where they discuss grief and what it is like and what is appropriate. So real!
I loved Ep.2. One of my favorite scenes from previous seasons was Matthew apologizing to his parents. Now we finally get to see Matthew and Simon (Peter) forgive each other and that was fantastic. That big hug at the end was just so perfect for Simon (Peter). He doesn't do things half way, he jumps in with both feet.
Great description of how Peter does things. It was truly an emotional and satisfying moment.
Yes yes and yes! This episode about how and why to forgive is the way to explain it!💝💞
Extremely well done episode.
1st and LAST scenes REALLY reach my heart!
I did not really get every-thing when the prests were together and talked about Jesus....
but, was worth it!
Jesus and John the Baptise, Simon (Peter) and Matthiew...oh MAN! superb!!!
helene :))
The episode was amazing. I really enjoyed it.
This episode convicted my own soul about the need to forgive "70 times 7, completion times completion." Sometimes I identify with Peter a little too much in that department. Also, I can see some of Matthew in me in how I try to qualify my own...we'll call them missteps. Like Matthew, I would sometimes prefer to think of how I harm others in a more "abstract" manner, but Jesus doesn't let me get away with that either. I went into this episode looking to be entertained, but got sooooo much more!
It’s amazing how much is actually in this episode. You are right about Matthew trying to downplay his role by seeing his mistakes in the abstract. I love how Jesus calls them both out in the episode. The ending was incredibly satisfying.
Regarding the "Who do you say I am" scene, it's likely that the actual exchange occurred in the direct vicinity of, if not in front of, the "gates of hell" which was the pagan temple in Ceasarea Phillipi.
Thanks for the comment. It’s definitely a possibility. I know the scripture says it was in the area. I thought it was an interesting choice for the show to do it that way, and it was very effective.
Yousef hasn't been elevated yet. He's just made up his mind that he needs to be. He has just begun taking the steps required to make it happen.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. You’re right that he hasn’t been made a member of the Sanhedrin yet, but his elevation is a forgone conclusion because of his family connections. For me it’s what’s behind his decision that separates him from Shmuel. Yussif is choosing that elevation because of his desire to help Jesus where Shmuel got there from his zeal to take Jesus down and is now having second thoughts. Just an interesting contrast between the two, at least I thought it was.
I think out of all the episodes this one has the best ending.
I agree. It was a very satisfying conclusion to that story.
Excellent review Bob. Love The Chosen series. Saw Season 4 in the theater. Watching again as the episodes are released.
Love this! These episodes are gripping and your review is on target! I will watch your episode with the dads! It sounds interesting!
I appreciate feedback. Yeah definitely check that episode out because I think it’s gonna be a good episode.
Yes! The way they brought Matthew and Peter together for forgiveness was so good. The entire episode was great. I agree with your comments. It’s getting better and better!
Yeah, the cast and crew are definitely on top of their game by this point and they keep finding new ways to impress me.
I loved it!! Such good messages about Christ our Lord.
Yeah, I thought it was a solid episode from start to finish. I loved the whole theme of forgiveness throughout the episode.
Peter hugging Matthew is my favorite scene that’s not in the Bible.
I love it as well. I thought it was a well told story that built up to a great moment. Very good ending to that storyline.
Never seen the show but, this is definitely a talked about show.
I really enjoy it and it has really connected with the audience.
Ok, just finished this episode and I thought it was very good. I loved them getting back to Jesus teaching His disciples again and I loved the forgiveness between Peter and Matthew. I still think there’s ambiguity between the role of Peter in this episode: yes the said Jesus is the rock instead of Peter but then they were arguing how Peter got promoted and somehow he’s in leadership now all the while saying arnt they all equally the same? So I’m confused what they really want to say there, lol 😂 thanks
Glad you enjoyed it. The forgiveness portion was my favorite part as I found it to be a satisfying conclusion to the story between Peter and Matthew.
@@Boblovesmovies 👍🏻 agreed 💯
Wait for episodes 3 and 4 for more Gaius story.
Thanks for the comment. I appreciate it. I actually was fortunate enough to see the whole season in theaters so I know where it’s going, but up to this point, I would’ve liked to have seen more of him. I just love his character so much. I think he has a fantastic character arc.
@@Boblovesmovies This is the problem with The Chosen. Everyone loves different characters! If they gave every character a broader storyline, there would have to be about 1000 episodes! My favorite is Jesus, and I wish there was more Jesus. I also love John, and would love more John. I think they call this 'an embarrassment of riches.'
@@yes2day100 well said. There’s just so many great characters. I love John as well. I love his expressions 😀.
Jesus needs to come back!! November 5th is Judgement day for our country and Israel if Biden Wins ,!!
So are they saying Peter is the rock? That’s a Catholic interpretation, not everyone holds that view
I don’t think so because later in the episode, the disciples mention that Jesus is the foundation and the main rock. The impression I got is it has to do more with leadership.
@@Boblovesmovies ok thanks, I’ll have to watch it myself, the wife and I finished episode 1 last night 😃
No problem 😀. I hope you enjoy it. I’ve enjoyed the season, but I know not everybody’s gonna agree with me.
