I'm a chick so I guess it's ok for the show to bring me to tears.😂 But seriously that's awesome dude, I bet you are a fine man. Your comment made me smile, ty!
This show fuckin wrecks me every episode, and I'm a former atheist, that should really tell people something, this show is definitely gonna change the world. And we have the Passion of The Christ sequels to look forward to!
The chosen blew up because Christians are use to sub par quality acting and production. The Chosen is incredible quality, and I believe there is a spiritual component to it. Many Christians have gone through life taking the bible at face value without the context of the backstory, and the Chosen provides that back story. Absolutely incredible quality and that is not something anyone can do. The cast and crew of chosen are incredibly gifted, blessed, or both. If you haven't watched the series please do, and even help fund season 3. Awesome Awesome Awesome
@@1jw298 I made a bad choice of words, but not what I meant. I meant only what we can deduce from the words without the depth of the context around the stories.
@@BrentPinkston right, deep study takes us farther to understand SO MUCH MORE of what’s going on in Biblical accounts. James Jordan does an amazing job of this in his sermons (which are old lol)
The Chosen is the first Christian program that isn’t infested with corny, forced lines that don’t fit. It’s actually an incredible series. Absolutely changed my entire perspective on Christ.
It’s not super inaccurate, but there is a lot of creative writing and putting together of things that happened separately throughout the story of Jesus. I like that it makes the characters seem like people. It adds a level of emotional understanding that just isn’t in the Bible for the most part. Makes it easier to relate for most people.
*i used to be an atheist. One day, while i was browsing RUclips, i saw the trailer of The Chosen. I got curious & clicked it. I was so amazed that just a simple trailer brought me back to worshipping God.* Praise be to Him 🙏🏼
I love The Chosen. The show is exactly like he describes, but so much more. All too often Jesus stories are centered around His acts and miracles, but this one shows how the people in those times felt. What they had to do. What they experience in His presence. The acting is phenomenal. It is so real. Yes it is about Jesus, but it is also about the rag-tag group of individuals who decided to follow them. You get the opportunity to see the 12 interact with each other and with Jesus. It involves actual human interactions. Such a well done series.
@@cernunnos3699 As a hobby I've taken the time to search the news of today and I've found over 100+ perfectly fulfilled prophecies that have come to pass 100% exactly as the bible foretold would happen after Israel becomes a nation again. Statistically impossible to happen by random chance. The bible's the only book on Earth that has the audacity to predict the future, prophecy, with 100% accuracy. This's Jesus’s signature of truth and that he is God and thee only one who gives prophecy. Rev19:10 "for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." If you're willing to search, there is proof. The kind of proof for the doubting Thomas type of individual. Proof that shows how authentic and accurate the bible really is. All of the prophesies I've documented from the bible can be easily verified by anyone who is willing to search out a matter. Proverbs 25:2 It is the glory of God to conceal a thing: but the honour of kings is to search out a matter. No other book or writing of men can come close to what the bible has the audacity to lay out so clearly. The Koran can't do it, nor any other religious or secular writ nor Nostradamus. All of these prophecies I've documented are found only within the bible and have occurred since Israel became a nation again in 1948 as foretold they would. Here is but one example of the perfect fulfillment of Israel becoming a nation again on the exact day the bible said they would of May 14th 1948. www.alphanewsdaily.com/mathprophecy2.html We are the generation that will witness the culmination of all things. If these things, that are prophesied to reach their full fulfillment during the time of Jacobs Trouble, are happening now, how much closer must the Rapture of the church be. Jesus is at the very door.
@@salvationzone9532 One, there’s no real evidence that Jesus ever existed. Two, there are entire books on the bibles failed predictions. Three, please share some of the passages that you think have come to fruition perfectly…
Wouldn't it be something incredible to see Joe Rogan give his life to Christ for I believe that Jesus Christ is in fact the Messiah the son of God who died on the cross for the sins of all men so that they would be saved, even those who mock him and dont believe in him there is still hope for you.
There was a man on a cross next to Jesus who asked Jesus to remember him. Jesus said " Assuredly, I say to you, today you will be with Me in Paradise." We don't understand the love and mercy our Lord and Savior has towards those who believe in Him.
A closer examination of the evidence shows that the story of Jesus Christ is what educated people call mythology. Jesus began as a theological concept and was used as a character in allegorical stories and was then historical as someone whom people believed really existed. The belief in a literal human Jesus emerged as eucharist rituals and theology developed around the concept of the flesh and blood of christ and these concepts merged with allegorical narratives about the figure. For centuries all serious scholars of Christianity were Christians themselves and modern secular scholars lean heavily on the groundwork collecting preserving and analyzing ancient texts and default under historical presumptions of their faith. The purpose of Christianity was supersession. It was designed to replace the ritualistic pagan beliefs and the nationalistic and militaristic messianic movement in Judea with a religion that was pacifistic and would accept Roman rule. Fact most Christians can't even agree on what they actually believe in and for the majority of educated people no ones cares about it.
The portrayal of Jesus brings me to tears, it shows his heart, his sense of humor, his love, his mercy, his tenderness and compassion. It makes me love him even more.
I hope it shows Jesus’s righteous anger too. Jesus wasn’t all bubbles and rainbows. People sometimes forget that and put Jesus into a box because they want to feel good about themselves. I’m not saying that’s what you’re doing, and so far the Chosen has one of the better portrayals of Christ I’ve seen, the other being from the film Risen.
The greatest series. Been waiting so long for 3rd season to start. Can't be canceled, it's not woke, acting is phenomenal, and the dramatic perspective through the apostles point of view is brilliant. It's seriously like hanging out with Jesus.
It is woke enough, it’s Mormon it blasphemed against the holy spurrier Spirit with the creepy John thing and it’s controlled by the Mormon . There is nothing Christian about this emotional rollercoaster of a show. Jenkins Sr. Dared to add to the Bible with his books. So did Dallas. They’re using this for evil but God will use it For His Glory despite all the lies they put in it. End of season one: praying for the ? When the heart is the most deceiving thing Christ says. And the real verse says pray through The Spirit. And so this show is filled with details like that one that will intend to drive your stay from the real YHWH. He will win!!
‘The Chosen’ is successful because unlike so many similar movies and made for TV series on the same subject matter it’s not hokey or crammed full of Shakespearean stage actors over acting without an attempt to change their Oxbridge accents (see Jesus of Nazareth). It’s slow paced, the characters seem realistic (obviously it is in English as that’s the market) but everyone seems to be 3 dimensional and multi layered in their part. Well worth a watch even if like me you’re not religious. Enjoyed it immensely.
Joe needs to have Dallas Jenkins on his podcast. I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this, but at the time they made the first season it was the highest crowd funded project ever. Raised like 10 million dollars for the season one budget, and I think they may have increased that by a lot for season 2. It is an amazing show.
I love this show! I have been a Christian my whole life and studied the Bible. This made everything so real and I’m so thankful this has come out! I support them 100% and can’t wait for season 4!
I'm a weak agnostic, but I love this show. It's very well done, and it's nice to see the New Testament and get into it without just reading it. But, reading it has been very enjoyable also. It's amazing to think that this was a real historical person, and that even skeptics admit the New Testament contains the historically verified writings of Paul.
correct the Bible is 100% the true eternal inerrant word of the living God. If it wasn't you could throw it away. Jesus is God and we all must embrace Him to be saved from Hell. It's that simple
No,...the entire new testament is anonymous and none of it was written by any contemporary people. No honest person believes any historically verified information lies within the book called Paul. The names of the books were assigned to them in approx. 200 C.E. And not even agreed upon until the 4th. Century when the bible as we know it was cobbled together by committee decision at the 1st council of Nicaea under order of Constantine. If any believers took the time to learn the actual history of the bible and how it came into existence they would realize how meaningless it actually is. If divinity and truth can be decided by mere mortals that weren't even able to verify any of the stories, what good is their biased decisions then?
@@michaelfox2433 I'm not a believer, but you are incorrect. Research Pauline authorship in the New Testament and then come back here with a source proving the scholarly consensus (that we have verified authorship of Paul in the New Testament) is wrong.
I’d argue that the massive effect of that one-show app can’t be replicated again. It’s having the same massive effect that the Bible has had on books. It has a divine pull on it. And you can’t compete with the Holy Spirit of God. Believers love it, and non-believers starve for it.
The Chosen is legit. Never knew what this man Jesus ACTUALLY stood for until I watched this series. Sometimes reading the Bible can be boring.. just being honest. The Chosen has helped me put names to faces. Literally changed my life for the better.
I am a Christian, and I Iike your honesty. you can check the youtube channel called "Bible project". They explain the Bible in a way that helps to see why its not boring
The Chosen series is the most extraordinary telling of Christ’s ministry I’ve ever seen and I’m pretty sure I’ve seen them all. The story is told through the eyes of His flawed disciples, those who loved Him, and those who didn’t. There’s humor and tear jerking moments. I highly recommend it.
Not just anyone can make a show like this that is solely funded by the viewers and be as huge. The fact that this show is independent of major TV networks and relied on solely by viewer funds speaks volume. This show is beautiful and put together so well. I encourage everyone to watch it. Even if you're not christian, but appreciate a really good show. The Chosen is it!
Really, because last time I checked The Gospels Jesus NEVER said to the Samaritan woman to PRAY from the heart which is the MOST deceitful thing a human has, according to Jesus. Perhaps you should LEARN the Gospel before you make these evaluations? It's in the Gospel of John and it says, pray through The Spirit, the HOLY SPIRIT that is. Not your own heart, which is what people follow when they watch this self-idolatrous show. To create a FALSE image of who God really is. By their works you will know them, Dallas paid for a trip to Rome to meet the Communist pope Bergoglio, only to be INSULTED by him and be called "jokingly" Judas. The guy couldn't give a rat's ass about their little show, he had no idea what Jonathan was talking about in his broken Castilian bit him and Dallas let their little bit of success get to their heads, only to be mocked by an oblivious potato. ruclips.net/video/VBUtX-Bl8RA/видео.html

The Chosen is absolutely amazing!! Must watch! Every emotion in every episode! It's funny! It's heartfelt! It's personable! In my opinion it is a perfect depiction of who I feel Jesus Christ is! 😍
Your feeling about Jesus is irrelevant. My feeling about Jesus is also irrelevant. The relevant part here is what the bible actually depicts about Jesus and not our subjective fleeting feelings. Our feelings can be a false perception but the objective revelation of who Christ really is can never be false or misleading unlike our feelings
Christian, beware of following extra biblical narrative. The guy that created the Chosen believes Mormons are Christians. Clearly they serve a different Jesus.
You wouldn't normally trust Hollywood, right? But now you are? The Chosen is the political establishment controlling what you think Christianity is. Not you finding Christ in Hollywood. The question you should be asking yourself is, "Why don't I feel this way reading the Bible or praying?" And the answer is because Hollywood is good at making people feel things, and because they shape the culture of the USA. Like the tv show "Modern Family" was intended to shape a more tolerant view of homosexuality, or cops shows are intended to get you to think cops are heroes. You really trust Hollywood to tell you about sexuality? Then why would you trust them to tell you about Jesus?
@@marendse6561 true, it does say that, but the Bible also tells us a lot about the heart of God, his desires and intentions, which the show has generally done a good job expressing to this point.
I think they’re wrong to think anyone could’ve had this success with the way the Chosen did their own app. The story of Christ is captivating and it spread globally from 12 people for a reason. The studio behind this has done by far the best job to date at depicting the biblical stories (not perfect but still kudos to them) through a television series. It’s the same reason Mel Gibson managed to break the highest grossing independent film and rated R film of all time through Passion of the Christ. I pray that more of this content gets created and God continues to bless the success of those efforts because we need more of this than ever.
The Chosen is an amazing representation of scripture. Bringing the words and human element right off the page. My kids love it as well and we can't wait for season 3 to start.
It's loosely based on scripture. There are parts of it that are very good and parts that are not. Like Mary going back to her worldly life is total heresy tbh. Jesus spending weeks preparing the sermon on the mount. He spoke what His Father told Him to speak. He said clearly that He only did what He saw or heard His Father doing. I know you can have a bit of licence in a series, but it misses the mark on many issues.

I hated all of the gossip that went on the church and everytime I went there, they were guilt tripping people to donate money. I realize that I've been missing out on a relationship with the Father and the Son
To put it simply: The Chosen is the story of Jesus's Disciples. Most people only know them through what's mentioned in the Bible which is only a small part of scripture. The drama uses history, culture and plausibility to fill in the gaps which is why there is a disclaimer at the begining of each episode: "'The Chosen' is NOT a replacement for Scripture."
The Chosen is an incredible series, HIGHLY recommended for everyone, it's not like the idea of a typical cheesy Christian film some people have. It's more like The Passion - but a drama that is (at least so far) all pre-crucifixion. But there's no cheesy messaging or dialogue it's just intended to follow the apostles through the gospels, obviously with some realistic or believable embellishment to fill in time, detail, and dialogue to make it a mini-series. Very powerful. Extremely well cast, acted, and produced. You'll be hooked, guaranteed. And it's sad Joe doesn't even know about dry bar comedy or this hugely viral show, it shows even he is in a kind of bubble... maybe not a political bubble, but perhaps a secular one. Dry bar comedy actually has some very funny comics / specials, again the stereotype of clean comedy not being funny just doesn't always apply, like the show.
Just checked and on this date Aug.30, 2022 the number of views was over 410 million. I doubt that includes the RUclips views that happen during reaction videos. I did a rewatch of season 2 via a reaction video prior to watching season 3 from the app. While I won't be doing that again, i did get something out of it that i'd like to share. The reactor was an artist whose outtake was completely different from my own. While I was paying close attention to the dialogue and the actions, the artist was paying more attention to the background sounds and scenes. I feel the artist took it to a level of distraction, but it did make me better appreciate the audiography and videography. Nearly every scene could be made a still frame and hung as art. The audio too is of superior quality and the acting is beyond compare. It's actually just too good to miss out on. Enjoy.
And that's what Correction: The Bible calls IDOLATRY: ruclips.net/video/VBUtX-Bl8RA/видео.html Read Galatians, ALL of it. It's a though Pill to Swallow, but sadly, that's why this show is doing so well. It's a FALSE Gospel. "Jesus has a plan for your life"....yeah how wonderful, me too!! That's not The Gospel. Humans HATE God, by definition they HAVE to change who God is in order to make Him palatable and acceptable according to THEIR standards. A wuss god that they don't have to respond to. The exact recipe for success of this apostasy. No conviction, no contrition, no repentance, no salvation. And yet, God the REAL Living One will use this disaster for His own Glory. He did it with me, He can do it with you too. But that doesn't mean the show is good, is terrible and they're pretty clear about how heretical they are. Even the main writer says they want to change the story of The Gospel to make it fit THEIR narrative. Dallas Jenkins is a tool but in a sense he's just like his dad. Trying to go against God by pretending to change what His word says in order to make a career out of it. He's toast, unless God works a REAL miracle in His life. They already were wobbly at the Samaritan woman, they lost me at Season 2. I actually read the entire Bible, this show doesn't have it in it. This show is meant for emotional addicts to get their high and to think that's the extent of a relationship with the Living God. It's pathetic really, because it lies, time and again, about who God is, what He wants from us and what He actually did.
The power of The Chosen is word of mouth and it is crowd funded. You can watch it for free but your viewing is paid for by the donations of others. You can opt to donate so that others can watch and future episodes are made. About 10% of people choose to donate but that’s been enough to fund it. It’s an incredible show, very faithful to the scripture account, and the production quality is far above what we Christians usually produce and see. It’s worth a watch if you want to see what one of the worlds largest religions believes.
Joe, you will love this series! I have watched the first two seasons about ten times each and I catch something new every time. The writing is superb, acting is out of this world! People in the Bible come to life, the writers of course do not know what the disciples said to one another but every conversation is feasible. We have always had the Bible to read, imagine the miracle of living back then and actually trying to wrap your mind around the FACT that you are looking at the Son of God! It's fabulous!
Joe has no idea the monstrosity of what he was just introduced to. It'd be so awesome for Joe to have Dallas Jenkins (director of @TheChosenSeries) on as a guest.
Then you don't know God and you haven't experienced His power. I pray that He knows you. ruclips.net/video/VBUtX-Bl8RA/видео.html What you did here, is Idolatry but like Amanda and Dallas Jenkins said: Read Scripture. I'd say, read Galatians 3,4. Idolatry is what we do, and that's our tendency. Idolatry is what you just did here.
The chosen is a fantastic show. Most Christian films aren't very good but the chosen is very unique. Just an example in season 2 episode 1 they told the story of the good Samaritan from the criminals point of view. The thief and his partner beat the jew unconscious and robbed him. On the way home somthing very bad happened to him(I won't spoil the story) and now he's disabled and can't support his family and he's worried he might have killed the jew. Then Jesus shows up... of course the Bible never discusses the thieves its just a "what if" and a fantastic way to tell the story. I'd say genius.

You got salvation wrong here, there is no scripture in the Bible that says accept Him and that is your eternal salvation. For one who are we to accept Christ when He has already accepted us? You got the roles wrong here. You’ve taken the one scripture that all mainstream churches use which is whoever calls upon the name of The Lord shall be saved and you’ve ran with it. You can’t cherry pick scripture. Acts 2:38 is the way to salvation. The apostles just spent all of that time with Jesus and they did NOT get it wrong. Peter says repent, be baptized in Jesus name for remission of sins and be filled with the Holy Ghost evidence of speaking with other tongues just like the spirit gave them the utterance on the day of Pentecost. Jesus says to Nicodemus unless a man is born again of the water and the spirit he will not see or enter the kingdom of heaven. It does not say accept Jesus and be saved and enter into the kingdom. Again, there isn’t one scripture in the Bible to back up what you’re saying. So right there I’ve just shown you that what you are saying and what The Word says are 2 different things. You always look to all scripture pertaining to the topic at hand. You can’t just take one verse and make that the gospel. It blows my mind how many people think they’re running around saved because they made a prayer to The Lord. It doesn’t work that way. There is no power that. Please stop spreading false doctrine that is going to lead many people to hellfire.
@@CamdenSmith333You’re cherry picking scripture just like most mainstream churches are doing. You think it’s ok to cherry pick out of Roman’s but ignore the book of Acts. It’s not as “simple” as that. You’re believing in a doctrine from the devil. You don’t have to believe it now but when you face Jesus and He says He never knew you it’s going to be a really bad day and eternity for you. Wisen up. You read ALL scripture pertaining to the topic when reading the Bible. Not taking what you want it to say and running with it.
@@CamdenSmith333 Acts 16:30-31 reads this way, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Many have taken this scripture to teach that all that is required for salvation is to believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world; and from that point on the individual is saved. It is definitely true that an individual must believe that Jesus is the Savior in order to be saved. However, Paul, who spoke these words in Acts 16, has some further teaching on the subject in Romans 10:13-15. Let’s consider the text: “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent?” If we wanted to be absurd, we could take this thirteenth verse to teach that all an individual must do for salvation is to call out the name of Jesus one time and he has received salvation. Paul tells us they can’t call on him in whom they have not believed. Furthermore, he said that they couldn’t believe in him of whom they have not heard. We cannot merely believe. We must believe something about Christ. When Paul told the jailer in Acts 16 to believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, he went on to speak unto him the word of the Lord (verse 32). The word which Paul spoke was apparently the gospel; for the result in verse 33 was that the jailer and all his house were baptized at midnight. That’s how essential baptism is for salvation. Paul took all these people out at midnight and baptized them! Some would object here by saying that we are saved by faith alone. It is true that we are saved by faith, but it is also true that true faith always produces action on the part of the believer. Let’s study from James 2:14-22 to verify this point. “What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him? If a brother or a sister be naked, and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit? Even so faith if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works; shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works. Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble. But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Seest thus how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?” When an individual believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, what do they believe about Him? They believe the gospel, which is the death, burial, and resurrection (I Corinthians 15:1-4). James teaches us that faith without action is dead, or it is not really faith at all. When a sinner hears the true gospel and truly believes, he will obey the gospel. An individual obeys the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ by repentance, baptism in Jesus’ name, and the infilling of the Holy Ghost, evidenced by speaking with other tongues. This is the salvation of Calvary! “Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?” (made complete). If you are still having trouble conceding to this teaching because of the element of works involved, let’s reason concerning one more point. Being born again -repentance, baptism, and receiving the Holy Ghost is not considered by God to be a work. In Titus 3:5 we are taught, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and the renewing of the Holy Ghost”. This scripture tells us that regeneration, which is being born again, is not a work of righteousness. Concluding this matter, we will cite a familiar biblical example. In the great revival at Samaria in Acts 8:5-23, a sorcerer named Simon heard the preaching of Philip. He believed and was baptized and continued with Philip beholding the signs and miracles that were done. Many people would say that because Simon believed, he was saved. Yet the Apostle Peter said of him in Acts 8:23, “For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.” It is impossible for anyone in the bond of iniquity to be saved; for the scriptures tell us, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). Simon believed and was baptized, but he had not received the Holy Ghost; therefore, he was not born again. We cannot be half-born and survive. The entire work of Calvary is necessary for our salvation. THIS is the truth
A friend tried getting me to watch this and I couldn't make it through the first episode. But I really trust my friend and he swore to me it was worth watching. Neither of us are religious. It’s not just about the life of Jesus Christ they are showing an authentic Jesus and how he would have been around his disciples there has never been another show like it ever! It is the best show in the whole world because nobody has ever taken the time to show how Jesus would have been around his family how Jesus would’ve been around his disciples and interacting with his disciples and the pharisees and the Sadducees etc. etc. it shows Jesus as a real person interacting mainly with his disciples and then it shows the miracles but the first thing you see is him interacting with his disciples and family!
I have been in a Christian religion since I was born. I have seen countless depictions of Jesus throughout my life, but they all felt distant, removed, too holy, that Jesus never felt real or tangible. It wasn’t until I finally decided to watch this show that I realized what was missing for me, and that was a depiction of His humanity, his struggles, his human personality. We all are aware of the divine part of him, but at least for me, this show made me realize the other human side of him that drew people to him. It has also helped to see the disciples depicted with their backstories to understand they were not above trials and painful pasts either, some were even seen as the parasites of society. But he didn’t care. He loved everyone. He invited ANYONE who was willing to follow him to join him. And that includes each of us today. The invitation still stands. He won’t force you. The chosen started on RUclips and was crowd funded enough to finance a studio, app, hundreds of jobs and has saved thousands from the fire. Also the Christmas special “the Messengers” was the number movie for 2 weeks!
Not just anyone can do this… Hollywood generally assumes they can ignore and therefore trash the text of the Bible. Anyone who believes, respects, and will do their best to properly represent the Bible - I can get onboard with that.
Read the Bible and immerse yourself in it. That is the actual real-life accounts of the people who walked and talked with Jesus. Read the 4 Gospels, especially John.- Then all of what Paul wrote is all fantastic and eternal truth.
Over 400 MILLION hits on the app. Over 10,000 fans from all over the world paid their own way to be background extras - in the middle of a field during June in Texas! Season 3 coming soon!
COME AND SEE! GET USED TO DIFFERENT! AGAINST THE CURRENT! Yep, I'm a fan! It's great. I recommend reading the Gospels and then watching. It is basically the Gospels acted out. Love it!
Everyone should watch this 🙏 " The Chosen " makes you feel every emotion, but mostly love, compassion, and faith. The tingling sensation that comes over you is unexplainable.
A lot of these stories are done with artistic licence but it’s intelligently woven. We don’t completely know what some of these dear Disciples lives were like & how their lives were interwoven. I may not be a tax collector (Matthew)but I sure know how it’s like to be treated like one. When you give them the precious faces of these actors you relate. It tears me to shreds to know that all but one of these disciples were murdered in horrifying ways. It wasn’t only Jesus who was tortured & torn up but them too. If you are a grieving Christian you cry buckets of tears for them.
The big thing about The Chosen is that it's well done. The cinematography, writing, character development are all crafted in manner to make everyone human and they have human conflicts, emotions and reactions.
The Chosen came into my life right when I became a Christian and because of The Chosen, whenever I read the Bible I can visualize it and it makes it so much fun to read.
Very unique perspective on the Jesus story ...digs into the background of those around Him, develops their characters in a way never seen before. Ex. Mathew the data driven awkwardly social tax collector, Peter the fisherman in financial trouble with issues back at home, Mary's dark situation.
@@kylerichardson1242 They base the characters' personalities primarily on the traditional Catholic understanding of who and how they were. For example: Simon = brash and impulsive. Thomas = questioning and calculating. They took some liberties, esp. with Matthew (autistic), but it works.
I'm not religious, but I must say the first season of The Chosen was good work. Head and shoulders above any Jesus storytelling I've ever seen. The final scene of the first episode will make grown men cry.

@@Zoltron2401 Strongly disagree. I can easily throw away a Christian liking the show and dismiss it as cringey religious dogma that’s poorly executed without ever even seeing it, but if non-religious people are seeing it and see it as well done and a beautiful adaptation, that carries a lot of weight
I enjoyed this series tremendously. Its such great quality and they offered completely for free. Obviously they want to nake enough money through donations to cover costs and more seasons but they genuinely just want to share the life of Christ with the world without being all about profit ...its genuine love of GOD. I heard it's pretty accurate to the bible
@@jesusbeliever9876 it's not, but it's a nice show
It’s not super inaccurate, but there is a lot of creative writing and putting together of things that happened separately throughout the story of Jesus. I like that it makes the characters seem like people. It adds a level of emotional understanding that just isn’t in the Bible for the most part. Makes it easier to relate for most people.
It’s actually not snd the fact it’s not biblical makes it corny.. it’s actually extremely offensive.

Just another attempt at keeping the con alive.
Rev19:10 "for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."
If you're willing to search, there is proof.
Do you believe in Jesus?

Love and respect that you are so open to this series!! It is amazing, indeed!

Regardless of your beliefs, The Chosen is really incredible
That's right, a heretical monstrosity:

Everyone should watch this show! It’s so well done and the most beautiful thing I’ve ever watched.
Then you don't know God and you haven't experienced His power. I pray that He knows you.

What you did here, is Idolatry but like Amanda and Dallas Jenkins said: Read Scripture.
I'd say, read Galatians 3,4. Idolatry is what we do, and that's our tendency. Idolatry is what you just did here.
Have Dallas Jenkins and/or Jonathan Roumie on the podcast! That would be AMAZING!
I love the chosen, it's the only show I've binge watched in years
The biggest point missed here is that it is crowd funded. Incredible. And it's really well done
That’s my favorite episode of all. I’ve watched it a few times. It’s amazing.
@@Kredwhiner Same!!! The Chosen is my favorite series ever. Season 2 Episode 1 is by far my FAVORITE episode. Complete perfection all the way through!!!
@BlackholeTtson452 Yes... So far season 3 is totally amazing. ♥️
Joe, watch the show and then interview Dallas Jenkins. I would love to hear your thoughts on this show!!
I love The Chosen. Can't wait for series 3. I'm not even religious.
Neither was Jesus, it's about relationship not religion. Check out Frank Turek, Hugh Ross, William Lane Craig, J Warner Wallace, Lee Strobel. They have lots of videos on here, also websites, book and provide the evidence for God/Jesus/Bible. God bless you on your journey to Truth!
@@bryant475 It's about the relationship. Exactly. I was a strong anti theist back in the day a rebellion against overt religious upbringing. However, the more I read, the more I understand myself, the more I understand about this relationship. I have no idea if there is a god, but that won't stop me trying to emulate what I feel a godly person should be.
@@contactlight8079 the bible says seek and you will find, knock and the door will be open. If you do this I believe you will become a believer and God will show you who He is. 💕
@@bryant475 uh.. Jesus is “religious” in ever sense. He is the Word. He is the prophecy for told in the Torah. He is order and justice.
The other element that makes The Chosen unique is that it is entirely free for you to go and watch. It isn't "FREE" though other people have paid out of their pockets to provide others the opportunity to watch it for free. I was able to watch the first two series through the sponsoring of a random gentleman from Canada and it will tell you who your sponsor is. Becuase of how good it was I went ahead and sponsored 15 other people to have the ability to watch the series for no charge out of their pocket. Its simply an amazing format and they know what they are doing.
The Chosen is hands down my favorite tv show of all time.
Every episode feels like a baptism
I don't watch TV shows at all and haven't in years. This one I have watched from beginning to end. Anxious for Season 4 to start
Joe needs to find and accept Christ in his life to insure his eternal salvation. 🙏🏻
@@D23595 Wrong. That’s not scriptural. Acts 2:38 is the only way.
@@thetruthsetsyoufree5000 Romans 10:9. Can't get much more straightforward than that.
Seest thus how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?”
When an individual believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, what do they believe about Him?
Yet the Apostle Peter said of him in Acts 8:23, “For I perceive that thou art in the gall of bitterness, and in the bond of iniquity.”
It is impossible for anyone in the bond of iniquity to be saved; for the scriptures tell us, “If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed” (John 8:36). Simon believed and was baptized, but he had not received the Holy Ghost; therefore, he was not born again. We cannot be half-born and survive. The entire work of Calvary is necessary for our salvation. THIS is the truth
The chosen is amazing. Life-changing! Watch it Joe!
Like Cocaine life changing changing...
It’s an amazing series! My family watches this and changes us for the better.
The scene that got me was when all the disciples were bickering round a fire and Jesus looks at them and returns to his tent. It made me sob.
A friend tried getting me to watch this and I couldn't make it through the first episode. But I really trust my friend and he swore to me it was worth watching. Neither of us are religious. Gave it a second try and was hooked. It's just really well done and the cast is great. Happy to support something from the heart and outside Hollywood.
It has a slow start for sure, but after the first few episodes it really ramps up.
He did unsatisfactory job of explaining The Chosen ....just go to the app and watch...awesome
That's because he didn't really watch it. He said so himself. If he had..... he'd probably have a hard time to stop talking about it.
That show was amazing!!!!! Can’t wait for season three to be released!!! The Chosen!
A great series - with an extra dimension of blessing !
They are self funded too. No one can tell them nothing or cancel them.
The Chosen …is truly life changing….it was for me anyways… Dallas Jenkins the Director and Co writer needs to be on JR show ….his story and how The chosen was crowd funded …and came to be ….is AMAZING !
HUGE thumbs up for this show. You have to see it, Joe!
"Anyone can do it..." 🤣😅 not so sure about that. The Chosen is literally in a league of its own.
But he will gladly accept you. This show is beautiful and has caused me to dust off my bible and delve into his life.
The chosen started on RUclips and was crowd funded enough to finance a studio, app, hundreds of jobs and has saved thousands from the fire. Also the Christmas special “the Messengers” was the number movie for 2 weeks!
Joe totally has to see it. I would pay money to hear his thoughts on it.
Not just anyone can do this… Hollywood generally assumes they can ignore and therefore trash the text of the Bible.
Anyone who believes, respects, and will do their best to properly represent the Bible - I can get onboard with that.
We need more movies about Jesus, people are craving this. Give people hope and the escape from this depressing devil world in which we live.
Read the Bible and immerse yourself in it. That is the actual real-life accounts of the people who walked and talked with Jesus. Read the 4 Gospels, especially John.- Then all of what Paul wrote is all fantastic and eternal truth.
I wouldn’t say Joe was “shocked”…
Look at Ol' Nate, promoting this show not only to Joe but to millions. Way to go, Nate!
Love it!
Yes, I love that, "Get used to different." One of the Best lines.
Absolutely the best thing I've ever seen on any media outlet. Movies, tv, apps, RUclips, nothing even comes close.
Every episode has a tear jerking moment and sends chills up your spine.
We will all meet Him.
Find Him will you can.
The big thing about The Chosen is that it's well done. The cinematography, writing, character development are all crafted in manner to make everyone human and they have human conflicts, emotions and reactions.
I'm agnostic and don't really know how i feel about Christianity right now, but that show is still really good and moving to me.
The Chosen came into my life right when I became a Christian and because of The Chosen, whenever I read the Bible I can visualize it and it makes it so much fun to read.
It’s mythology
If Joe watches the show he prob will look at Christ differently for once
Don't hold your breath
Perhaps but he also needs evidence, like videos, websites and books by Frank Turek, Hugh Ross, William Lane Craig, J Warner Wallace, Lee Strobel.

The Chosen is awesome!!!
Very unique perspective on the Jesus story ...digs into the background of those around Him, develops their characters in a way never seen before. Ex. Mathew the data driven awkwardly social tax collector, Peter the fisherman in financial trouble with issues back at home, Mary's dark situation.
Love her thoughts -but a quick FYI - the fisherman in trouble was Simon
Sorry - typo - your, not her!
I wonder where they got the "backgrounds" of those characters. Nothing about Matthew's personality or John's troubles in the Bible, as far as I know.

Haha, I may have license to cry being a chick and all but your comment made me start balling in front of my buddy remembering that scene and I feel silly... and happy, lol.
What’s the point of saying you’re not religious? Doesn’t really add on to the comment other than asserting your identity
@@Zoltron2401 I know atheists and agnostics who won't give the show a watch simply because they write off the Christian faith. My comment could sway someone to give it a shot. Also blah blah blah blah blah blah. Glad I could waste more of your time there.
