    Dallas explains about that final scene very well

      Obviously, it’s not a scene that I wanted to happen, but from a storytelling standpoint, I can’t deny that it is an extremely good scene. I’ll need to go back and watch his explanation. I started filming this video right after the live stream of the episode.

    I understood why this was written. God doesn't always give us the answer we want, but I have lived with 4 family members that died with 18 months. Although I was sad I knew that my family members would not suffer anymore with cancer. I leaned on God for comfort. I knew that Ramah was going to die because I saw an interview with Yazmin weeks before it was at the theater. When I was at the theater I was waiting to see how it was going to happen. I still think it was a very good episode.

      Yeah, I think it was a really good episode as well and her death was very effective with where it takes the rest of our characters. I like that the episode didn’t shy away from the tough questions.

      It really was a rough scene. I was so shocked when I saw the first time in theaters and it hit me just as hard on the rewatch.

    U should go back and watch it,the main reason why they didn't go the other way,is because the way was blocked, that why Peter told Andrew to find a back way out,that was the only way out for everybody.

    I forgot this is how the theater episodes ended. Finally got to see this last night and I can’t imagine walking out of the theater after that. I knew something dramatic was coming since there was a viewer discretion warning at the beginning but I was still shocked who it happened to.

    I think you have forgotten the amount of time that has passed when regarding the tax revenue. First of all you need to remember Quintus redrew the boundaries of the city to include the tent city, so tax revenue projections would have increased with Rome. But since no one in the tent city had money, it would tank his numbers. So between the amount of time that has passed since his last good reports to the current time....a year or so, it could make sense his numbers had dropped off dramatically.

    Great review! I agree with your two issues. The tax scenario seemed a bit contrived and Thomas walking in front of a Roman soldier with a sword made no sense to me, no matter how you slice it. That scene needed to be thought out a little more.

      Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Yeah I rewatched the scene again and I think they could have forced their way through the crowd in the opposite direction and not walk towards Quintus. Now it still was a very effective scene for what they were trying to accomplish, but just something I noticed that I didn’t notice when I saw it in theaters.

    Thomas was running towards the exit that the disciples had cleared, remember he is the one who helped find a way out before he went back to get Rahma, he was focused on getting to there. About the tax revenue dropping, it actually wasn’t the next day. Jesus and the disciples had taken that whole trip to the Gates of Hell, there was a passage of time between Atticus mentioning it and Quintus getting upset at the drop in revenue.

      I appreciate the comment. I had somebody explain the tax thing to me and it makes more sense now. Overall, it was a great episode and these are really just minor complaints that didn’t in any way change my enjoyment of the episode.

    The entire Ramah thing did not bother me. It is called life, it happens. Characters we like get killed off all the time. People die in accidents all the time. I felt it was needed in the plot to lay the foundation for the fall of Quintus and the rise of Gaius. Something has to be the catalyst for Quintus's downfall and to kill a citizen combined with his lack of control would harm the Pax Romana. (maybe I took it this way as a history major...LOL) but if you understood how Rome prided itself on the Pax Romana (look it up)....then the uprising, the death of a young woman, and his tax issues, it would have been the incentive needed...not to mention Atticus did not like Quintus and he did like Gaius, and he had influence to shove the needle in that direction, the killing off of Ramah made total sense to me.

    • @Boblovesmovies
      @Boblovesmovies  Месяц назад +2

      It doesn’t bother me from a storytelling standpoint because it’s extremely effective at what it does. Also, some of my favorite shows have killed off major characters that had profound impacts for the rest of the series. I just personally like the character and hate to see her go, but I do think that it makes sense.

      Jesus is Life so there is no excuse for them to twist the Scripture this way. He always gave his followers the best so that we may know that with Him there is satisfaction.
      Noone can serve two masters, as brought up in the Gospels. The show doesn't serve God's purpose, instead it tries to bribe the crowd. Thatvs an evil thing inside.

    One thing I love about this episode is it’s causing people to talk about what the REAL Jesus would have done. Not Jonathan but Jesus, so it helps put into perspective that this is a show. I also really liked Salome. I actually think she was a little jealous ( fruit doesn’t fall far from the tree) so it makes perfect sense. She will be the one who asks Jesus to elevate her sons. I haven’t seen the rest of the season but that’s my guess.

    I wish The Chosen wouldn’t do such heart breaking things to explain why certain things are the way they are in scripture. First it was Eden’s miscarriage and now it’s this. 😢

    David again,everybody pay close attention to what I'm about to say,even doe Jesus had renamed Simon as Peter,but u people have forgotten,it was Peter who had rejected Jesus 3 times,Jesus did that on purpose,already knowing that he will reject him,so the scripture can be full filled.

    David again,first of all gyis,don't have any agenda against aquintise,he just developed alot of respect for Jesus and his followers and most importantly,he saw himself for the very first time,that there is a better way.

      Appreciate your opinion. I don’t think Gaius had an agenda against Quintus per se, but I think he saw an opportunity and took it. At least that’s what I read into it.

    I understand what Dallas said about the spiritual truth that not everyone gets healed. However, I feel that he mixed the different offices of Jesus Christ. In His incarnate state, Jesus was revealing himself to the human race. He came as Prophet and fulfillment of prophecy. He performed signs and wonders and healed all who asked and believed. In His current office, Jesus is our High Priest. We pray and ask God through Jesus, but not everyone is healed. I just think that the character and integrity of Jesus was maligned in the scene when Jesus did not heal Remah. Just how I feel about it.

    • @Boblovesmovies
      @Boblovesmovies  Месяц назад

      I think that’s a valid opinion. It’s a tough scene and I can imagine that it’s probably very controversial. When I saw it in theaters, I heard other people say the same thing. I think it sparks an interesting debate.

      I think it lays a good foundation for doubting Thomas , Think about it , Thomas ate ,walked with Jesus and saw all that He did ,so this scene opens our mind to the fact that despite all this some thing could have happened that caused thomas to doubt .

    King David was dealing with a very large sin he and Bathseba committed. He rose after the babys death because he knew God judgment was complete . Tell me how that correlates with this womans death and Yeshua not healing. Are you saying Thomas sinned wnd this was Gods judgment and Yeshua understood that . This was a terrible ending which seems to be wrritn by someone that never reads the word . Done just to get a emotional response . I am done with the Chosen for this and other misrepresentations of Gods word

    • @keithswafford3327
      @keithswafford3327 Месяц назад

      What I meant by Gods judgment was , yes David repented and God forgave but actions have consequences. I know that today we seen to think we just ask God to forgive but take no accountability for our actions .Read the account got yourself in God's word then you wil understand . It appears the makers of this show never did

    • @Boblovesmovies
      @Boblovesmovies  Месяц назад

      I appreciate the comment and if you’re done with the show, that’s fine. Yes, I’ve read the story and like you said, David had already repented and was forgiven when Nathan called him out for his sin. And you’re right, sin has consequences. I’m in no way comparing David’s actions to Thomas, but comparing the fact that the prayer wasn’t answered. God has been known to change his mind because of repentance. Nineveh is an example and was spared for a time because they repented. It’s logical to assume that David would hope for the same when asking for God to spare the child. Again, I appreciate the comment.

    • @keithswafford3327
      @keithswafford3327 Месяц назад

      We know why David's prayer was not answered . Do we know why Thomas's pray was not answered ? Yeshua the son of God was standing there no real reason was given. This is the trouble you get into when you make fan fiction mixed with holy scripture . I very much like many episodes of the Chosen but this one was not thought thru and will just confuse many believers especially new believers that's all I am saying . I did not mean to cast aspersions on the writer. Stories about the Bible ,even fan fiction must be done with great care . Shalom

    I am not against what happened to Ramah.
    My problem is just how bad the scene was executed. It was very amateurish, embarrassing really.
    First when Jesus told Peter & Mathew that he had enough of the Pharisees & Romans & he was ready to “confront “ them….. not very messiah like imo.
    But the actual scene where he heals the blind man & then starts teaching the crowd , it started ok , but I could never figure out why the Romans would care about some religious teacher debating with other religious teachers ?
    It just doesn’t fit.
    Also the crowd wasn’t being violent at all, the whole timing was off , with the interactions between the different apostles , they seemed to move in slow motion, with Jesus just standing there not doing anything??
    To have Quintus the Roman representative, personally run out of his office to the crowd & then have one of his officers publicly rebuke him ( death penalty in those days) was just incredibly bad writing & poorly acted & executed.
    The part where Quintus draws his sword and kills the poor girl was laughable, how could anyone get emotional at this the way it was acted lol it was some high school play
    I will probably watch more of the series , but this episode was a huge let down for me

    • @Boblovesmovies
      @Boblovesmovies  23 дня назад +1

      I appreciate the opinion and you make some interesting points. The biggest issue I had was I don’t see why Thomas and Ramah couldn’t run the other way. I rewatched the scene and it seems like they could’ve just pushed their way through the crowd. Again, I think the death was effective from a storytelling standpoint, but I don’t understand why you would walk straight towards the Roman with the sword drawn.

    This David again a hebrew man.once again, if u truly know your Bible,you will know that Thomas never had a wife as a disciple of Jesus,so that is why she had to go,the only person that was marry was Simon,everybody else was single.you Christian need to go back reread your Bible,from the beganing to the end,we know it better than do and another thing,Dallas Jenkins had made a terrible mistake with Elizabeth,she wasn't that old and her husband didn't start talking,until he heard the baby crying and everybody was in deep shock,but these people didn't show any form of a shock,what so ever when he started talking.

    • @Boblovesmovies
      @Boblovesmovies  Месяц назад

      I appreciate the comment. Yes, I am aware that Simon is the only one that was ever mentioned having a wife. I do understand that and her death does make sense. I was fine with Elizabeth, because I like the actress, but she is much older than then what Elizabeth probably was. My understanding is Elizabeth was probably in her 50s or 60s.
