The fact that Darkness is connected to memory, and Light washes memory away... there is something way bigger going on here. And listen to the real fear in Savathun's voice as she describes the Witness. It gives the Darkness a wicked shape. What powers do we know the Darkness possesses? Some weaponized gravitational abilities, access to psychic impressions and the ability to move creatures and even entire planets through realities. But hang on. Isn't that ALSO one of the common theories for what happens when a Guardian is resurrected in the Light? With each rebirth, your ghost reconstructs you using material and data it steals from another you in another time line. But we don't know that, it's just a theory. And then, what does the Exo Stranger do? When the Darkness wins and consumes our solar system, a mechanism in her Exo body activates and she enters.... yup! Another time line, another reality. As someone who can't buy the expansion right now, I need to mega thank you for this video! (and all your work in general) I can continue learning about the lore, my favorite part of the game, even if I can't play it directly
The statues are the most terrifying part of the Pyramid architecture because, at first glance, they appear humanoid but upon further inspection they’re a completely different and bewildering shape almost like the plants on the Derelict and the Glykon but refined and contained within the statues’ frames. But it also looks like, just as in the Heart of the Black Garden, they can come to life in a split second and attack you at any moment. So it keeps me on edge the most whenever I’m up close seeing these in my periphery. There is an immense recurring theme going all the way back to D1 about being frozen and breaking out of statues, but by far the most significant and most terrifying examples of this are the ones that you know are fully capable of moving yet purposefully remain still…
