I really want to see Rasputin get a season as our ally when Xivu Arath makes a full-scale invasion of Sol; imagine the Hive God of War being pit against humanity's own artificial god in a full tactical showdown using guardians as chess pieces
@@evangraham4607 Bungie undoubtedly has either a) godly foresight or b) magicians capable of weaving almost any dilapidated plot thread or detail into a meaningful part of the current story
@Bandzgang I mean most cards are still almost double MSRP, but it's better then What they were months ago. I think part of it is people went without the card they wanted so long that now even when their available people just aren't willing to pay double or triple MSRP for that card anymore when not having it wasn't even so bad to begin with. If cards ever go back down to true MSRP their might be another shortage though
Theory, as Rasputin is dying at the hands of the pyramids in Season of Arrivals, he instead pushes his copy of Felwinter into the engram. A father sacrificing himself for his son. He had kept Felwinter's ghost in this unmarked bunker, and it is the missing piece to fully transferring the consciousness from the engram to an exo body. Felwinter returns.
@@samurai137x I think there is a hole in my theory though. Sounds like the "Nephele Stronghold" was made around the time of the collapse. It's possible the place was made first, and it's where Rasputin put Felwinter's ghost later on. The mythology of Nephele is that she was a cloud nymph made by Zeus. At one point she saves her children from being killed. There is more to it than that, but the theme is there of saving a child. Also, Felwinter's ghost is named Felspring. And Felspring is a she, as is Nephele.
For 2yrs I've been rocking a Exo/Titan wearing the Warmind set and I can't get enough of it I love the Warmind theme as much as I love SIVA so I really hope next season gives some more Rasputin.
i could see nefele being some kind of space station outside of the main system. something he sent out pre-collapse so that the darkness wouldnt notice it or target it. (would also tie in nicely with savathuns whole 'your gonna go outside the system' in 2 truths, 2 lies lol)
It doesn't necessarily have to be outside the system, capital in season of the chosen hadn't given up the idea that the leviathan wasn't hiding in sol, it's definitely bigger than a small ship
Could also be a literal "stronghold in the clouds", meaning Jupiter or Saturn. Both of which are now prominent in the directory, and Saturn doesn't actually have a location. Could be that said stronghold is a new directory option.
Nessus is near Saturn, that's why it's on the directory. But I do wish your theory would be correct, because I would love to explore one of the golden age floating cities.
the traveler is in the clouds. I think it's believable Rasputin has managed to place something inside, or on the traveler for safekeeping. personally I think it's something relating to keeping humanity safe - a backup of us
@@jacoblockett390 That's an interesting theory. The guardians first mission being to literally protect the Light, and by extension the Traveler, hiding his copy there to ensure his return would be a very plausible move.
Wild stab in the dark... Could the story of Nefele, the SKY nymph, refer to The Traveller, as the light is depicted as 'a gift from the sky'. Could Rasputin have found a way to intergrade himself into a ghost (may be that of Felwinter) or the Traveller itself, to create the 'ultimate weapon' a guardian/Rasputin hybrid. Fun to speculate...
I am thinking of maybe Guardian roll for Big Red also because the Arch Angel Bundle with the Sparrow, Ship, and Even a Ghost shell. If the traveler was willing to bring back Savathun what would stop the traveler from making Rasputin a guardian in an Exo Body. Exo themself are a very advance computer and the brain upload as the OS. In the lore were Ana goes into Rasputin's mind I think the thorns represent damage/corrupted code the Javelin could be him trying to hang on and a message. With the place that rasputin reference could be file servers on his network that he backed up to and with him tend to being 1 step ahead what if he already made something like a Exo body for himself. The place he he reference wanted to keep so secret even from himself, what if he made a backup of himself and wanted to keep hidden to were if his program files on mars were compromised to were the enemy couldn't find the place.
Felwinter the guardian had a weird habit of integrating ghosts into his armour - there's a still partially active one on the back of his exotic helmet, for example. Maybe he was unknowingly reverse engineering ghosts as a backup network for Rasputin? ... Rasputin having access to bootleg guardians / light empowered seraphs is quite a worrying thought. Especially if all their ghosts are direct linked to the warmind, having no individual personalities.
@@Mike_Viola If this is true I don't think it would be something akin to a light witness, as the witness' army would already know of the nature of the traveler, meaning there would be no reason to hide it. Maybe if Rasputin did attack the traveler, he implanted a bit of himself into it, secretly.
Im betting Nefele is next seasonal activity location, but hoping it's a Warmind/SIVA dungeon of a Warmind back-up system. "Back-up", like a digital cloud.
I wouldn't be surprised if it becomes a seasonal activity location, but i doubt it'll be the next one. Bungie's story setups usually take longer to pay off.
@@bobisconsumed520 hey dude what's new and I agree they sometimes sneak future references into seasons and campaigns maybe this is the siva season and bring WOTM out of the DCV but aren't we getting kings fall back at somepoint I doubt crota as a raid that would be better as a dunegon I think but I wonder would elsie and clovis play parts in a Ana Rasputin season
One of Savathun's "Two truths, two lies" is that the Last City is not the last city. Perhaps Rasuputin hid some people away specifically to figure out how to prevent a second collapse?
well, we know that the dreaming city exists, but we already knew this when talking to her, which would imply that there is a city on earth or a city of non-awoken humans. I am really hoping for there to be a preserved golden age society still living somewhere hidden on the earth that may have declared neutrality like the awoken or simply are hidden well enough to have never encountered the darkness.
There's always that settlement of pacifist Guardians out there. For some reason I don't believe it's supposed to be on Earth. What better place to enjoy peace, than one protected by the Warmind itself?
Agent CHA-319 is Chalco, just FYI. It takes a bit more crossreferencing to confirm and seems to be a minor detail for now. But given that she's Ikora's closest confidant and most trusted Hidden agent, she'll likely play a bigger lore role in Hidden Rasputin investigations going forward.
I feel Ana would obviously be involved maybe clovis as he created it but I doubt ikora or chalco would bring an outsider or well non hidden into hidden affairs
If we're talking the Nymph of Clouds, then maybe this stronghold is hidden inside a gas giant? Or somewhere in the Oort Cloud on the edge of the solar system? Also, one of Savathun's "2 Truths, 2 Lies" is "The Last City is not the last city," so that would be true if Nefele Stronghold were a hidden colony/city.
I definitely think we'll be getting a Warmind season this year. I just hope it's sooner rather than later, because I always love getting my hands on Warmind themed gear. Nothing makes me happier than hunting down wannabe gods and their supernatural army in paracausal realms, armed with technologically advanced weapons of mass destruction built by a hyper advanced artificial intelligent war machine. I especially want the shader used by Archangel's Alacrity and Archangel's Might. I NEED it Bungie! SIVA themed gear would also be welcomed. I forget which lore card it was, assuming it was a lore card, but I remember hearing that the Luminal Hive were up to something in the Cosmodrome. Perhaps this is just a reference to the Psiops Battleground, but it's worth noting that in the Veles Labyrinth Lost Sector, the Hive are clearly tearing their way through into Rasputin's bunker. It's not the first time they've been in there or have been interesting in Rasputin. The Taken were interested in Warmind locations and Io as well. Since Bungie recently updated Veles Labyrinth to feature Hive runes trying to keep us out, it would be neat to connect it to the next Rasputin season. The Hive and Rasputin have been connected for years so it makes sense to me. It would be interesting if the Luminal Hive went after SIVA and we team up with Mithrax, a Splicer, and Caiatal's Psions to rebuild Rasputin and head back to the Plaguelands to keep SIVA out of the Hive's hands. Rasputin would have the authority to seize control of SIVA and in our hands it would be a formidable weapon to use against the Witness.
Rasputin was so freaking advanced that he started recognizing magic, I can't remember the grimore card but he detected the hives Magic years away from his long range scans, thats some processing power yo
Could the thorns and vines around Rasputins Engram be a reference to the neurons/ tendrils that the caretaker and Rhulk explode out from them? That being infected with darkness?
Nefele Stronghold sounds like it could be a hidden instillation in the atmospheres of either Jupiter, Neptune, Uranus, or Saturn. A literal stronghold in the sky with the natural defenses of a massive gas giant's gravity well, crushing atmosphere, and a natural magnetic field strong enough that it would distort and mask most communications. Seeing that we have had content around Jupiter and Saturn in D2; Neptune or Uranus wouldn't be out of the question for Bungie. Don't forget, Halo 2 had a Forerunner gas mining instillation in the high atmosphere of the gas giant, Threshold. And that was a popular level as it gave us control of The Arbiter. Wouldn't be surprised if Bungie gave us a Titan 2.0-esk facility to run around in, or just make it a raid destination as tribute to their previous game. They already did it with the 30th anniversary a couple of months ago.
it'd be cool if the next dungeon is this nefele stronghold recovery mission, but MAN its more dream to have a dungeon (or whisper/zero hour mission) where you go further into the depths of deep stone crypt to restore Rasputin in an exo body with the bray sisters and Clovis AI on comms through the mission awkwardly catching up and talking about the bray legacy. In the Dark Future lore he was restored in the DSC, and Clovis AI did make himself a body so it'd make sense... plus in DSC raid we basically just got to the foyer and then went to space - we we barely scratched the surface what is left in the crypt
I mean the first weapons mentioned when talking about getting back legacy weapons for crafting were the Seventh Seraph ones so it's not that far fetched.
I swear in one of the trailers we got before witch queen launched they very briefly showed one of those warmind frame things we had in season of the worthy. I need to go back and find them but I’m betting the warmind season might be next 🤞
@@Ämyr2006 in the same video I believe they mention certain weapons coming back as craftable and the seraph sidearm was the weapon on screen at the time. Which def has me thinking that. Now that I think about it that might have been the witch queen reveal video, let me go find it!
I hope the IKELOS Protocol Weapons make it to the Weapon Crafting. My RNG for would drops of IKELOS weapons has sucked I and only gotten on IKELOS weapon to drop this season. I would like if there was a so-called lost IKELOS protcol weapon that was a Auto Rifle like in the Lore it was still in prototyping stage and couldn't me made.
I love that Ana is using Light + Splicer Tech from Eliksni + Psion Mindscape from Cabal. If Rasputin comes back it's because of these alliances and that's probably why attempts in other timelines fail.
Later at the Tower. Zavala: Ana it's good to see you back safe. - Zavala notices a new Exo behind Ana - Zavala: Ana I am... unfamiliar with the Exo that stands behind you, who are they? Exo: - yells in angry Russian - Zavala: Is...is that the warmind Rasputin? Ana: Y- - Shouting can be heard up above - Saladin: RASPUTIN!? Zavala: - long deep sigh -
My personal theory is that nephele stronghold is within the Traveler. We know Rasputin had a plan in place to immobilize it if he needed to, so it's not unreasonable to believe he has a plan in place for if that plan fails. Maybe some way of backing up himself or humanity in a safe place, so that if the traveler does leave earth, humanity and/or Rasputin will survive. I think that safe place is within the traveler; it's hinted at by the witness, who after the collapse could have been watching everything Rasputin has done without Rasputin knowing ("your pale heart holds the key"); it's hinted at by the lore of Nephele keeping in place a 'golden fleece' to help her children in the future. Whether what is in the stronghold is for RAS' benefit or humanities depends on whether the protocol to create it was put in place before or after midnight exigent, but my money is on before. As for what is inside the Traveler? I think it's an army of exo/human bodies. A collection of new guardians for whatever planet the traveler could end up at next. Rasputin's goal is the survival of humanity. Humanity can live on whether the tower, or even Earth falls or not.
There is a place on Mars called ‘Nepheles Depressio,’ the lowland of cloud. Not much is written about the area, so I can’t narrow down where it is on the planet. It’s extremely esoteric Mars knowledge I only know cause I had to look up a bunch of Mars geography names for a TTRPG.
I’ve seen so much great fan art of what Rasputin will look like as an Exo, I’m so excited to what he’ll look like! Part of me hopes we’ll be given a mission in a future season/expansion to save him if the Warmind is ever in jeopardy, like the writers had planned. I’d love to experience the original vision.
This was brilliant. I'm confident that one of this era's seasons will be around Rasputin and bringing him back, for out of game reasons - I'm sure one of the early weapon crafting trailers showed Seraph guns being made
I think Nefele stronghold is a satellite in orbit, somewhere he stored items, maybe even a copy for himself. If the name is referencing the clouds, I believe that means above ground, and a satellite would make the most sense
I'm really coming around to the idea of a Rasputin themed season where we go into the Engram built by Anna, using Splicer technology, to clear out the corruption planted by the Darkness. We even have Anna mentioning Javelins being inside his mind, which could easily be used similar to how we fight the projections of Savathun.
Theory: one of these seasons will be Rasputin themed (id guess not next season but the one after) Itll be about trying to ressurect Rasputin, Ana need our help. Itll turn out that Ras stored backup fragments in SIVA as cloud storage, The 'Nephele Stonghold'. So we'll need to gather SIVA fragments to be able to rebuild his consiousness. The Exo Ana is trying to use wont be enough to house this, we'll need to augment it. How? By using an Exo that Rasputin made. We'll need to track down whats left of Felwinter, and use pieces of him to help augment the exo. Through this, Rasputin will be reborn, we'll get cool SIVA themed gear, and the returning raid will be Wrath.
Idk if this has been talked about, but in the final encounter for the raid when we’re in the DPS portion of the boss fight, we have four different symbols we can dunk it. Light, Darkness, Traveler and Pyramid. As know throughout the raid all the symbols are actually telling a story. And I believe that goes for the DPS portion of Rhulk as well. You see, the symbols are placed in a way that follows the same ideology of what Bungie is trying to tell us in the story. There’s the light and darkness, and eventually we will have to choose what side. This is obviously the most clear comparison of the two symbols as both are even on the right side of the platform when you walk up the stairs. Now what really changes it up is on the left side. The left consists of the other two symbols, pyramid and traveler. If we were to follow the same idea and logic behind the right side on that there’s the light and dark, wouldn’t it make sense if the left side had the Traveler and the Witness? Unless what we’re led to believe about the Traveler is wrong. Maybe it’s not what’s behind the Light like we believed it to be for so long. Maybe what the raid is trying to tell us is that the Traveler is in fact the lights equivalent of the Pyramids. Something that is merely a vessel and not a being itself (that we know of, obviously). Now I know the idea of the Traveler not being the true being behind the light is not new. But I feel with this revelation this further points into the direction of that theory to be true. Especially when we put into consideration with what Savathun said about there being more Travelers out there. Now obviously we don’t know if that’s 100% true or not, but it would make sense if it were true if what I stated were to be true. Because, if the Traveler were the equivalent to the Witness, wouldn’t it make sense to have the Witness symbol be there instead of the Pyramid symbol? One last thing to add on that could be a stretch but it’s interesting nonetheless. What if the reason behind the banking of these four symbols is because it symbolizes the idea that the line between light and dark is very thin. Because if we look at the raid, we can bank at only light symbols, or only dark, or a mix of both. The outcome will be the same no matter what is correct (the outcome being that we are able to damage Rhulk).
There's more to the Nephele story in Greek mythos. It was meant as a deception against a king, named Ixion. When Ixion seduced the cloud ( instead of Hera) the resulting child was the first Centaur. A Centaur is also the name of a "small body that orbits the sun between Jupiter and Neptune" according to a wikipedia citation. There's another possible connection, the Nephilim, a race of powerful beings, "offspring of fallen angels and human women". There is great potential in this lore depending on how far down the rabbit hole the writer's traveled. Both would make sense as both gaurdians and disciples are creations of living beings corrupted/altered by both the Darkness or the Light. The offspring of fallen dieties.
I think it’s on Saturn. It’s back on the director and it’s a planet of gas so it could very likely be a floating installation on the clouds of Saturn. No I don’t think the returning raid will use that on the director, much more likely that if kings fall returns it will be in the legends tab
Imagine this for a scenario: "Hive forces gathered upon the cliffs of Old Russia. Xivu Arath knew how to mess with us all, especially since Savathun told told her about us. About who we are. About where we came from. We don't remember much from our past, but we remember where our stories began. We had to hold the line. Humanity was escaping this place to evacuate to Old Chicago, and going through the Cosmodrome was our last option. We all held up our own to the best of our ability, as the Guardians of the Last City. Many light and dark-bearers were doing all they could. We put in everything we could into whatever screaming nightmare came our way. But the Hive were ruthless. Even with the House of Light and Caitl's forces assisting us, we were putting up the largest bloodbath in Earthen history. Many of us took to the front lines while we waited for our moment of hope. It was coming, we just had to hold up a little longer. Everyone we knew was fighting by our side. Zavala and Ikora were fighting as though they had their old fireteam back, living the most glorious moment of vanguard history - if only their hunter was with them... The greatest titan in history, Saint-14 l, spared no second in cutting through the hoards. After losing Osiris, he was without mercy. He did not speak, but his actions spoke all his rage for him. Saladin and Shaxx fought side by side once more. The great Iron Lords blazed up the field like hell manifest. In the skies flew Amanda, along with the Queen's Wrath. Such a formidable force with a beautiful pattern of explosions with each dogfight. The drifter was escorting civilians with as much speed as he could. For once, he sided with the vanguard. In the centre of the field was Eris. She did not waste a moment getting revenge on the species that cost her everything, and by god was it terrifying. Crow was putting his guardian skills into the best use possible. His past made him the enemy, and now he remains our greatest ally. Instead of civilians fearing him, the looked to him for hope. Shiro and Shaw Han were by far the best hunters in the picture. Their blade dancing was impeccable. Upon the rising scream fo dead Hive stood a raging Banshee-44. Once again, he took up the sword of The Lament, rekindling his past as a warrior, and a fighter for humanity. His knowledge for guns was unreachable, but his abilities with them proved much greater. Hawthorne and Devrim fought like a father and daughter again. While the did not bear the light, they didn't need it to defend humanity from this storm. Not one person from the Tower was missing. Each one of them was fighting with all they had to save what remained of their home, of their people. If only the Speaker could see this, he would be more than proud. In the comms was a familiar voice, one of which brought the hope everyone needed. ""Eyes up guardians, here comes the party!"" Ana Brae was exactly what we needed to hear. From the skies, everyone turned to look up and saw great impacting forces headed straight for the enemy. WARSATS. And not just ones bult in bulk, but alongside them, Javelin spears breaking through the skies like scissors on paper. It was a moment of great victory... And now we Guardians still thrive. We talk about that day as though it happened seconds ago. We lost many, but we also gained many more. While we are on this colony ship, we await a new home. Yes, we are fearful. But no, we are not afraid. Long live the Last city, and may Old Chicago bring us a new dawn..."
It'd be interesting if we get to have our cake *and* eat it too. An incomplete/corrupt copy of Rasputin downloaded into an Exo that we team up with to go rescue the full copy of Rasputin in this Nefele Stronghold, which leaves us with both an Exo named Red and a fully rebooted Rasputin
One thing I've never seen discussed on this topic is that Nephele is mentioned to be the mother of the centaurs. Given that Nessus is an "unstable centaur", I wonder if we'll find the stronghold on / near there.
Leads me to ask, what nessus actually is. The destiny universe normally uses places, that actually exist (besides of artifficly crafted ones like dreaming city, the reef, dreadnought etc.). But nessus is neither of those in the first place. We also know, that the exodus black had siva stored within but it never played any further role. What if rasputin built nessus, maybe to explore the vex. He crafted a planetoid with typical flora and fauna for our sol to find out, how the vex invade and terraform whole planets, because he wasnt able to watch it on venus and mercury. Those were infected aeons before rasputin was built.
@@obliviousflyer9113 But the seraphim (seven seraphs, Rasputin might just not know how to translate hebrew) were already a peacekeeping force by Rasputin.
Honestly it could be absolutely anywhere within the old AI-COM/RSPN network, from orbital stations, planetary bunkers etc. Makes logical sense that it would be on Mars, Freehold with the return of the old D1 locations. Expecting content there next season. A part of me still yearns for Lady Effrideet's pacifist Guardian colony out in the Jovians because I remain fascinated with them, and whilst she wasn't involved when the Iron Lords were slain, Efrideet was there during Rise of Iron and the return of SIVA. An unlikely but potential connection, sure, but got to have some wild speculation!
So all this seems to have something to do with Exos, and refers to a Braytech facility in the sky, that was very well hidden... I think the Nefele Stronghold might just be a codename for the Morning Star. The Deep Stone Crypt was rediscovered immediately after Rasputin went away, no clue what the thing in the Morning Star is but I think that that could be it. We usually don't get new destinations w/ seasons so it would have to be on an existing destination or come w/ the next dlc.
The stronghold could be a backup of all braytech projects that were recorded. Rasputin sent this away for humanity to find in a time of need so having all projects in one location ready for transmission
well according to savathune's game there may be another city of humans other than the last city, wouldn't it make sense that one of rasputines protocols during the collapse would be to hide and protect a large population of humans in the equivalent of a giant bunker then erase all traces of that place so as to protect them.
Got an idea. Maybe.. just maybe. It’s what cayde referred to in the ace of spades mission. If the sun over Nessus escapes nebula cycle, evac labor after dawn under solstice.
I’m rewatching this video and could Nefele stronghold be on Neomuna Neptune? The thing with Nefele being a nymph of cloud and Neomuna is a city in the cloud with cloud striders on Neptune?
Wild shot in the dark, since you mentioned a possible unknown colony. But did we ever learn about the colony that Efirdeet mentioned during rise of iron? I vaguely remember her mention she has been hiding in a peaceful colony and wont reveal the location. Could be something there.
The floating place Eva Levante would send us sometimes for Halloween had a sewar system with a cat statue in it for those curious enough to explore. Does it also possess a hidden bunker for Rasputin?
Im curious as to why the exo stranger, Elsie, hasn't given Anna a hand. Given how many times she's jumped through time she has to know something about getting Rapustin into a new body, or she is concerned about something that may happen. Here's to hoping SIVA and a new dungeon are coming our way! Excellent video as always!
I can hear the Season's opening mission briefing now. *Guardian's ship is thrown into a mission, Ana Bray comes over the comms* "Guardian! I need your help with something. Ikora and I have found some kind of backup for Rasputin's systems hidden away in an old bunker, but the place is crawling with Scorn. We need you to get in there and save Big Red." My mind is just racing with possibilities. Throwing Scorn at Rasputin's remaining strongholds could have some lore involving the witness' information that it might have garnered from it's short confrontation with Rasputin. Even if he was simply wiped away, the witness was still able to dig through Rasputin and learn all this stuff. Maybe the WITNESS is what deleted all record of NEFELE STRONGHOLD, and is just that good. I don't know. Sounds like us rebuilding Rasputin by freeing up those old bunkers and reclaiming pieces of him would be super cool.
Yeah Nefele is definitely Neptune now that we know from lightfall. Literally a city in the clouds with cloudstriders. Actually now we know about Neomuna lots of lore points to it and references it so I’m pretty sure they’ve been thinking about lots of the lore for a long time
What about a top Felwinters peak? With the rumor or an iron banner season coming…. Maybe we see it’s return and discover the entrance that was right secretly there all along
With the ton of lore behind it, I feel Rasputin would be able to carry a whole expansion. Given the rampant AI leit motif we had in Halo and Marathon, it has to show up at some point in the future of Destiny, too. Maybe when the saga of light and dark is over and you wake up in a cryo pod to some Tchaikowsky music.
I really think things would come full circle if the story didn't just center on Ana and Rasputin. If Bungie had Ana reach out to Elsie to get help exporting Rasputin over. I think that would complete an open plot from Beyond Light in such a intriguing way. There's so many options on how they could approach it. So many plots strung from one singular point in such a beautiful way! Edit: I also think the midscape part was a showing of Rasputin being weak but still with us.
Ever since Bungie split from Activision, they been slowly putting Destiny's original story concepts into play. The darkness being an entity rather than a force, the Exo Stranger having an identity and more presence, The Crow being who he is now instead of Uldren, and Rasputin being a single Exo instead of a Warmind, and I am so excited for it.
I haven't seen this in the comments yet so maybe I'm forgetting what happened to them in the end, but what if it was a stronghold where he put the Seven Seraphs? Weren't they kinda similar to being his children? I know that we saw some die on Titan, but maybe a few survived and he wanted to keep them safe from the darkness, and he deleted it from his own memory because he didn't want to bring them back as weapons; he just wanted to make sure they were safe and not killed. kinda shows a similar mentality to felwinter where he was like 'if I can't have you, no one can'
We also have new lore about Savathun discovering our world. What if Rasputin did as well and Nefele is in the cloud, our cloud, and rebuilding Rasputin will be an ARG?
I think everyone keeps forgetting that "cloud" doesn't mean it's in the ether. All cloud information points to a terrestrial place which houses servers that store data. Why would Rasputin have a mythical cloud, it has to be an actual place it could defend. If it is a complete backup of Rasputin then that would be interesting, but it might actually be a combination of Rasputin and Felwinter consciousnesses. Rasputin has always been concerned about Guardians and the power they received from "0", due to it's failed attempts on the black fleet before the collapse it recognized the power signature was relatively similar to "0" and it's why it didn't trust Guardians at all. They deny reality with their constant shunting of the rules of death. Although I find the entire idea that the Traveller resurrected an exo which was never actually alive to begin with as a Guardian outside of Destiny current logic, this could mean that the original owner of that exo was human. It makes no sense for Rasputin to make a living being, that is a power only the Traveller has, plus that's a groundbreaking find. Even the Vex are living organisms., hence they can be Taken every exo was previously a human and technology was advanced enough to transfer human consciousness to those frames, but Rasputin creating one from scratch and it gaining sentience of a living being sounds absurd, if that was the case then it could have simply left humanity to their fate and waited until everything was over, restarted and made more and begin it's purpose anew. I think Felwinter was an actual human before becoming Rasputin's trial exo. I'm still confused at to how an AI would even have a consciousness in the first place, that defies logic as it is data and what makes the living beings in the universe unique is there is no way to copy what makes their consciousness in the first place(it's a random collection of synapses coming to a consensus). The Traveller's powers aren't even understood as it also made the Wish Dragons as well a the Leviathan the Hive slew in the Fundament. The theme here seems to be life itself is tied to the Traveller's will, its also why ghosts can deny death state itself. The Traveller gives life to the lifeless and even from nothingness it can gift life as that's how it restarts whenever the game ends. Unabated growth is what the Traveller seeks for it's own selfish desire, which perverts the very rules of the Universe both it and the Darkness are. So everything is on fast track, which is why things happen so violently in the first place. At some point in the eons in the past the Traveller increased or actually pushed more knowledge unto it's children, to which the Darkness reacted to by bringing forth quick and sudden demise. The Witness is one of the avatars of the Darkness and 100% a being of light at one point, the fact Savathun's worm revealed she tricked it into doing something against the Darkness plan that it got banished for a time, that whole explosion of light from the Traveller literally pushed it back, rendering the fleet inert. This is still a game that has to be played according to he rules set forth and attempting to breach the rules triggers a violent reaction from either the Darkness or the Traveller. I'm beginning to think those two are actually the same being and not separate. Consciousness are separated, but the being itself is one in the same. It's just weird that these Pyramid ships are already right at Earths doorstep but did nothing during the collapse. Was this already there and like in a board game pieces are only activated when the time is right? The current ship we use to craft weapons is open to us, the Darkness has spoken to us using our very own visage, which could mean the Traveller and the Darkness are just like that. Traveller is life progress, but also decay and demise which would be what happens to anything created within the universe of rules which it was given to govern. Perhaps it was always one individual playing 4D chess with itself. The Traveller was probably never running away, but looking for pieces that it could utilize, because until Guardians, no light children could resist and many converted to Darkness and killed those who didn't. Guardians came about after the light burst creating ghosts which granted the powers of light and darkness to those who the ghost resurrect. Why can we use darkness in the first place, and why Rasputin itself didn't trust us, the signatures of light and darkness were similar in his scans. So this reality defying power has no loyalty to us, plus the Traveller has never taken away light it gave. All living beings in Destiny are creations of the Traveller, conversely all beings of light can choose to build up and progress or to destroy. Rhulk is literally that, killed his own people as a disciple of the Witness. I have no doubt that Mara Sov almost even up like that, I'm pretty sure that the one Mara communed with back when the Traveller called time and caused that perverted Awoken form to come into existence, The Witness was using darkness power to convert her. It's probably why she can hear things and seemed very fearful of The Witness in the game itself. I think the Witness attempting to create another Rhulk is what triggered that reaction from the Traveller. I mean, why did the attack stop at all? I think the Traveller and the Darkness is one being and The Traveller is the front and the Darkness is the rear end as it moves, demise naturally occurs as rules state. This probably why the Traveller stayed, if it isn't moving Darkness will remain at the same distance and The Witness breached the distance triggering a violent reaction from the Traveller which forced The Witness far enough away. The Darkness avatar has emotions, the Traveller doesn't seem to have chosen one yet(but it's likely our Guardian) it still fundamentally hasn't reacted with emotions much side from when it felt urgent need to come back to protect the last visage of progress it created. Remember this isn't the first time the Traveller came to our system, that would be impossible as it creates life and without it our system would be dead. The lore makes mention of the game ending and the Gardener becoming upset it can't see unabated progress, so this universe faced demise multiple times before, so for life to be in the universe the Gardener had to have started over before they could enter the game else what would be the point of jumping into a game without anything alive to watch progress. The rapid changes observed on Io is proof the Traveller creates life, not sure why the hell wish dragons appeared there though. The Traveller itself doesn't make any sense with the lifeforms it creates. Why haven't humans been gifted powers like those dragons, is there some criteria or a balance which governs what gets certain abilities? wish dragons abilities are mischievous at best, but they are reality warping. Destiny is chock full of weird that I love to speculate crazy, most of this is speculation on my part though. I will always love Destiny, the most interesting sci-fi mystery game ever.
I really want to see Rasputin get a season as our ally when Xivu Arath makes a full-scale invasion of Sol; imagine the Hive God of War being pit against humanity's own artificial god in a full tactical showdown using guardians as chess pieces

Based. I'd be so down for that.
And Felspring is a she, as is Nephele.
oh I like this take
For 2yrs I've been rocking a Exo/Titan wearing the Warmind set and I can't get enough of it I love the Warmind theme as much as I love SIVA so I really hope next season gives some more Rasputin.
I have been rocking the EP armor style and got the Arch Angel bundle so rocking the ship, Sparrow, and ghost.
i could see nefele being some kind of space station outside of the main system. something he sent out pre-collapse so that the darkness wouldnt notice it or target it.
The name suggests it is a "cloud stronghold".
Saturn, Jupiter, or the Oort Cloud are the prime candidates, IMO.
Maybe we finally go to Enceladus, I'm really hoping it wasn't just retconned to Europa for Beyond Light
@@Phi_AU_ There's some obscure lore relating to the Oort cloud I'm pretty sure. It's not where Lady Efrideet is, right?
Could also be a literal "stronghold in the clouds", meaning Jupiter or Saturn. Both of which are now prominent in the directory, and Saturn doesn't actually have a location. Could be that said stronghold is a new directory option.
Nessus is near Saturn, that's why it's on the directory. But I do wish your theory would be correct, because I would love to explore one of the golden age floating cities.
I'd love a splicer like season with mithrax and us going into the thorn field to free Rasputin
the traveler is in the clouds.
Honeslty. Imma call it now. Rasputin could have the potential to become a guardian. Especially is he is put into an exo
Or, maybe he has hidden a being that was Inside the Traveller....

The moths hit box is surprisingly big for how little it looks.
Whew..just in time. Was feeling stressed and needed a lift.
Thanks for all you do.
Could the thorns and vines around Rasputins Engram be a reference to the neurons/ tendrils that the caretaker and Rhulk explode out from them? That being infected with darkness?
Good shout
I can’t believe that Ana Bray used “That’s the Plan Stan” but the authors changed the S to a Ps like in Psion
The thicket in Rasputin's mindscape sounds like the dreams stroke victims have while recovering, as the brain tries to reorganize itself
just a correction though, SIDDHARTHA GOLEM was the name of the Rasputin Exo, Felwinter is the name of the Exo after he got rezzed by his Ghost.
I wonder if it has to do with the myth of nephele cloud nymph.
it'd be cool if the next dungeon is this nefele stronghold recovery mission, but MAN its more dream to have a dungeon (or whisper/zero hour mission) where you go further into the depths of deep stone crypt to restore Rasputin in an exo body with the bray sisters and Clovis AI on comms through the mission awkwardly catching up and talking about the bray legacy. In the Dark Future lore he was restored in the DSC, and Clovis AI did make himself a body so it'd make sense... plus in DSC raid we basically just got to the foyer and then went to space - we
we barely scratched the surface what is left in the crypt
I mean the first weapons mentioned when talking about getting back legacy weapons for crafting were the Seventh Seraph ones so it's not that far fetched.
I swear in one of the trailers we got before witch queen launched they very briefly showed one of those warmind frame things we had in season of the worthy. I need to go back and find them but I’m betting the warmind season might be next 🤞

I hope the IKELOS Protocol Weapons make it to the Weapon Crafting. My RNG for would drops of IKELOS weapons has sucked I and only gotten on IKELOS weapon to drop this season. I've forever liked the description of Rasputin. Always seems temperamental but to the point. Can't wait for a season where he comes back as a badass.
Love these bite size videos. Tackle one thread and where we are. Excellent as always
I'm confident that one of this era's seasons will be around Rasputin and bringing him back, for out of game reasons - I'm sure one of the early weapon crafting trailers showed Seraph guns being made
great vid; but are we just going to skip over how awesome that knife throw was at 1:44
I've been hoping someone would cover Rasputin I think he is more important than we think I also don't think we have seen his full strength yet
Taint scratcher crew loves the lore videos!
I think Nefele stronghold is a satellite in orbit, somewhere he stored items, maybe even a copy for himself. If the name is referencing the clouds, I believe that means above ground, and a satellite would make the most sense
Like the one over Uranus.
Anything about Rasputin and the exo warlock Felwinter always catches my attention because there isn't as much as I wish there was
Theory:
one of these seasons will be Rasputin themed (id guess not next season but the one after)
Itll be about trying to ressurect Rasputin, Ana need our help.
Looking forward to seeing Big Red again. Taking him on a date for an all-Ghost production of Swan Lake.
This Raspewd'n sounds fascinating! But the console at Braytech was talking about that other dude, Rasputin. But Raspewd'n sounds just as cool.
This lore analysis is the best so far in my opinion
I need to re-watch all of Myelin Games’ videos, I completely forgot about Rasputin
Imagine this for a scenario:
"Hive forces gathered upon the cliffs of Old Russia.

Loved this lore episode, can’t wait to see happens to Rasputin in the future.
The thing with Nefele being a nymph of cloud and Neomuna is a city in the cloud with cloud striders on Neptune?
i have a feeling this will be another deep stone crypt scenario where we may never know until another warmind based season like worthy comes around!
This lore makes me think that maybe we’ll get a season where try to bring Rasputin back and one of the missions will involve the Nephelli stronghold
I would want to see other guardians like Saladin have confrontations with Rasputin after being rebuilt.
Rasputin gets Exo body, wields light and dark, becomes new hunter vanguard.
How is Myelin getting so much super energy in the background footage? I know I'm missing some critical info here lol
Imagine Rasputin comes back as an exo, and challenges crow for the vanguard position
Raputin has a Black Box morality, he cannot be corrupted. He does what he thinks is best.
Never thought I'd hear those Stephen Fry lines again.
I can hear the Season's opening mission briefing now.
*Guardian's ship is thrown into a mission, Ana Bray comes over the comms*
"Guardian! I need your help with something. Ikora and I have found some kind of backup for Rasputin's systems hidden away in an old bunker, but the place is crawling with Scorn. We need you to get in there and save Big Red."
My mind is just racing with possibilities.
One thing to point out is that Nepheli was born of Zeus, i.e. Jupiter in roman mythology. So it could be an orbital station among the Jovians.
That was really interesting. So many story line possibilities.
Whatever sent there might be the same thing a squad of Exo soldiers recovered in last days on kraken mare. Interesting.
Just like Escalation Protocol, Ana must cleanse the rot from Rasputin. Hence the Valkryie.
Man, I almost forgot about Razzy. Wanna see him sooner than later.
Taint scratcher. Can you give me the lore on that please? Haha always good stuff and we all Appreciate you, bud!
I like that you have incorporated the SKY Sports Football RUclips Channel's way of titling the video.
I didn't realise until just now Stephen Fry had voiced that concierge AI in Destiny 2.
It's almost like we had an expansion about Rasputin already.
The sky angle seems plausible. If nefeli is a bastardisation of the term nephelim that would make sense!
Time has come for season of the plague (kinda), in siva we trust, in siva all things are possible
Perhaps it'll give Bungie an opportunity to use/ recon Cayde6's "It's on Enceladus" line for the Nefele Stronghold?
I believe we will see Rasputin in a coming season, we'll use the evidence board to find the stronghold
Looooove Rasputin story and tech... looking forward to it.
God… Seeing the data terminals from mars… I miss mars and escalation protocol.
Bungie has some amazing writer creating the lore for this game. They honestly need some novels out there to dig deep into this lore.
I really think next season will be us helping Anna finish the process.
I haven't seen this in the comments yet so maybe I'm forgetting what happened to them in the end, but what if it was a stronghold where he put the Seven Seraphs? Weren't they kinda similar to being his children? I know that we saw some die on Titan, but maybe a few survived and he wanted to keep them safe from the darkness, and he deleted it from his own memory because he didn't want to bring them back as weapons; he just wanted to make sure they were safe and not killed. kinda shows a similar mentality to felwinter where he was like 'if I can't have you, no one can'
The “Thorns and rot” sounds more like shiva than anything else, maybe it’s supposed to represent Rasputin’s weakness.
Rasputin is rebuilt into an Exo and still has his AI functions and before being reactivated a ghost picks him.
I feel like next season is about Rasputin and Siva since Wraith Of The Machine is returning.
I'm pretty sure it going to be King's Fall tho.
But Wrath would be cool.
@@kernell__ Bungie literally confirmed on Twitter its gonna be wraith
@@valzicplayz3845 can you pass a link? I wasn't aware of that.
I will always love Destiny, the most interesting sci-fi mystery game ever.
lol while you sure have some outlandish ideas, many of these are so wrong... good try tho.
I just wonder if it's literal clouds or if it's a digital copy of himself stored in a server somewhere that he calls the Nefele Stronghold
Tell you something man. Stephen Fry was a fucking brilliant shout for the Concierge AI 👌🏻
Should've had him do more
I love warmind and siva stuff. Please give us more bungie
EAZ comes to mind when you mention sky base.....
