The PS4 Pro actually doesn't look that bad to play this game, honestly among the old-gen platforms it seems to be the best to play Cyberpunk.
PS4 has had a good improvement, but it still has its flaws (but despite that it's still considerably better than the Xbox One version)

@@trshcln6937 I don't know how it is on Xbox One X these days, the last update I saw of it was 1.5, but I remember that despite it having a higher resolution it had problems maintaining 30fps.

@@trshcln6937 sony gave the game a harsh treatment when they banned it from the ps store, which is why the ps4 version is more polished than the xbox one in terms of frame-rate.
They've definitely polished up the last gen versions a lot but now I would like them to further improve the current gen versions to make them more distinct

60FPS is hands down the best choice, but I’m really surprised. The biggest gap I saw was between the ps4 & ps4 pro.
If you have a pro, looks like it’d be perfectly fine to play on.
As a whole it's definitely playable, but still a lot of hiccups like loading times, textures that take a lot of time to render, NPCs as well as vehicles and objects can take a long time to spawn especially when you're finished driving.

I love that its playable now on old gen but srsly the constant loading of textures and the sound issues if you are going too fast is still very apparent forcing me to wait for everything to load before I can do anything.

Here's my 100% trustful opinion about the game as a fellow PS4 PRO user. The game is absolutly playable and enjoyable, framerate is almost constant, and loading textures are way less common, still, the game suffers from animation bugs, most of them while pulling any weapon while combat or maybe a busy area, which at times is annoying. In my experience on the game, i've found driving through the city way better playing with 1st person camera, not only it was a much more enjoyable drive, but also loading textures were way way way less common. At the npc appart, i have not had the luck to try the game on a powerful npc that can load tons of npcs on the cities, but, tho im a big fan of busy areas with tons of npcs, and if the would add more npcs to the PS4 version i would not complain, i dont find the PS4 version lifeless, it has many random encounters and filled with many missions all across the map, you wont feel like is dead at all. That's my basic opinion of how the game currently is, of course there is a big wish list, but for any out there with a PS4/PRO i highly recommend the experience
Thank you immensely, I needed to hear this before committing to the purchase! I've wanted the game well before launch but held off all these years due to initial issues. With 1.6 being the last major update, there is nothing major to expect in the future outside of PC and current-get consoles. I not only needed to be sure the Pro could handle it, but that the experience was an improvement over older updates.

Hi there, I think they said last gen consoles will receive updates but they'll be bug fixes and improvements to stability. But yes, they will not add new features (such as the new cop system or the vehicle combat that they mentioned they're working on.) to those consoles.
This is what I want to know. I want to buy the game but if they just abandon it completely and don't even fix bugs and glitches, I'll be very pissed. They need to keep supporting it

Red dead redemption 2 which looks 100x times better than cyberpunk, is miles ahead in every single gameplay aspect, and is filled to the brim with dynamic AI still runs smoothly on my 7 year old PS4 fat
CDPR just doesn't want to support the game anymore, but the hardware is well within capability of handling a game like this.

I still don't get why Rockstar could manage to properly populate GTA V's Los Santos with believable levels of NPCs *on PS3* no less, but CDPR couldn't with this game. smh
Because GTA's world is lots of empty open space while Night City is way more dense, requiring the CPU cycles that could've otherwise went to NPC counts

I would be interested to know whether the PS4 Pro runs with an HDD or SSD in terms of loading times at CyberPunk. Because nowadays some are already building SSDs instead of messing about with the HDD. Your videos are very interesting, but you could somehow make a comparison with an SSD, even if the PS5 is better in terms of performance.

@@Jura87able SSD is definitely worth the upgrade but if you're just casually gaming mostly single player then HDD is just fine for most cases. SSHD is a good alternative if you don't want to pay the price for SSD.
Ray-tracing is just a word for this game.
And the resolution is still lower than Performance mode
On PS5 1440p 60 HDR performance mode is the true experience

I think my vision is kinda shitty because apart from the resolution, I can’t see much of a difference, visually speaking. But they clearly gave the last gen version a little polishing, cause it look waaaay better visually than it did when it first came out.
I only have PS4 slim and being able to play this now decently makes me happy. Can’t complain tho, but the game is so fun to play.

Installing an SSD in the PS4 Pro alleviates a lot of the issues of pop ups and speeds up the load times. This is one of those instances where the difference is night and day

performance mode is the best looking mode in a lot of comparisons here. + it delivers the 60fps.

nah the raytracing mode looks way better in most scenes in this game where there's shadows. Check the lighting in the car. Even it just applies to shadows, it affects most scenes in this game because of the setting the world is in. There's ALWAYS crazy lighting and shadows so the RT adds to almost every scene. It's painful to play at 30fps though. Especially for gun fights.

@@Gutek524 I ain't saying no bugs/glitches what I'm saying is having the least amount of them. Take example from the exclusives. In those games it was very difficult for me to spot a bug on titles like GoW 2018 , Spider-Man etc. This can be applied to this game too.
The 1.6 patch is nearly as good as it gets, if you're waiting 3 years to play a game which is already released you're doing it wrong... These guys have put in a lot of hard work and after 2 years it's now a great experience , it's come a very long way.
No 1.6 isn't the the best yet. As i said I'll personally wait till the end of 2023 and if the game meets the requirements i need then I'll consider buying it. Also i don't do it the wrong way it is the right way to any game like this should anyone do. For example Gotham Knights it has a very rough launch and if someone wants to play it they won't buy it now but when it's much playable.
I saw someone doing a stream of the game on PS4 and after driving and stopping the car they had to wait about 15 seconds for the door of the building to render so they could enter the building. It still can not be recommended for PS4. I commented about how bad it was and he said he thought it was worse than the previous patch and plays terribly still. If you want a decent experience next gen only is the only way unfortunately. It shouldn't have been released on the PS4 or Xbox one. They can't handle it. It'll never be fixed on PS4 or Xbox one. It only shows a short segment of driving and still drops down to 23fps here. They tried to make up for it by offering the free upgrade on next gen but if you're stuck with a PS4 or Xbox one it's a very poor experience.
Waiting til you get a next gen console to play this game is the only way really.Trying to play this on the previous gen consoles would absolutely ruin the experience.

This game should be remade from the start only for ps5/xsx. It lacks of some animations, on ps4 the city is lifeless, and keeps stuttering.

PS5 is probably the best console version if you have the choice. Haptic feedback, fastest loading, smallest file size, lowest input latency and more stable frame rate (marginally). Only minor advantages over Series X but they all add up

He's right, the RT in this version only exclusively work on shadows, it doesn't even use RT ambient occlusion, the light doesn't even bounce to other materials, ONLY shadows, which is stupid,
what good are RT shadows if the ambient lighting isnt ray traced? It's either rt shadows AND rt ambient occlusion or no RT at all, why even implement a ray tracing mode, they could've done a lot better in terms of optimizing the settings, even the lowest setting for rt shadows AND rt ambient occlusion would've been fine so long as they are implemented at the same time not one or the other, but it seems they put in rt shadows as medium-high and just left it like that.
maybe the API that allows ray tracing allows more accurate shadows and at the same time takes less time for programmers
New consoles can't handle Cp77 ray tracing. They probably just added it so that people wouldn't be constantly complaining that there was no ray tracing mode.
The game doesn't even have RT AO in the PC version. The game has RT Shadows, RT Reflections, RT Emissive Lights, and RTGI.
@@crestofhonor2349 Well, with RT Lighting/RTGI there's no need for AO anymore; RT should correctly calculate indirect lighting and shade occluded areas already. Don't know rn how the implementation is in CP77 though, would need to check.

This game is a perfectly example of when a hardware manufacturer should allow a dev to drop resolution hard to gain performance/AI.
I know Sony & MS were super against going below 900p on any game but some just need it if they're gonna be on older platforms.
Just make it a 720p game. If you're already playing on those consoles you dgaf, you just want a good experience. 720 or 900 doesn't matter to you. Just make it 720p.
I just don't see why devs can't have many of the same options on console that PC versions get. I understand for 1st party games or multiplayer where some exact uniformity may be needed but in an open world, multiplatform single player game just give us all the options. Wanna play at fn...540p and no anti-aliasing? Ok.
Wanna play at 720p, no Vsync and textures set to low? Have at it.
Etc.
I wonder if the massive amount of NPCs were diminished in the PC version as well. I only played this game at the first week of release (yep, classic zeitgeist), barely 1 hour or so... and the only graphical aspect that impressed me, that was the NPCs walking around. It reminded me the early days of Assassins Creed, of course they were all braindead (who isn't in this game, even the cars didn't had proper AI), the children models looked BIZARRE, literally the same adult model but shrinked, lol Still, the verticality of the city paired with the NPCs, that was a cool gimmick to create a feeling of "immensity"
@@B1GST4R899 Really? I could swear these consoles would feature CPUs comparable to the early years of ryzen (like a ryzen 1600 or something). Back when I tested Cyberpunk, I had a ryzen 5 2600 and a GTX 1060, the NPCs walked around just fine, lots of them. Of course the graphics were not maxed out because of the GPU, but there was a lot of density for the NPCs and the cars
NPC counts were not decreased in the PC version. Plus the PC version has had a setting since the beginning that has controlled crowd sizes. There is no point in changing it when there was already a low and a high settings for that on PC
PC player here: huge NPC variety, I enjoy strolling around people watching.

When considering price/performance, remember the PS4 Pro released 4 years before Xbox Series S.

CD should review the whole code for last gen and rebuild the game from the ground up for it to run better there, the engine is way to heavy for last gen and the models way too dense in meshes, a proper lod management and some corrections with data streaming would solve 90% of the issues.
@Will rewriting the core of the engine? Dude.. you know that UE5 doesn't have streaming like this RE4? UE5 right now won't be able to handle city like that, especially on last gens. This engine despite it buginess is really good at what it does

Yes at half price its a good buy and more than playable on base ps4. I have clocked in over 30hrs after 1.6 and the improvements over 1.52 is quite noticable.

For anyone still rocking a ps4 console, do yourself a massive favor, swap the internal HDD for an SSD. It'll cut the load times in half.
Noh, it's way better getting a Series S cause it's more powerful, capable and smaller. Plus, you'll have access to all last gen games.
@@merlin2962 series S is great, I have one and highly recommend it to people. I was just pointing out that for people who are still using a PS4 as their main console, it's very much worth it to spend 50$ to replace the HDD with an SSD. Load times are massively improved in most games.
Edit: just a bit of info, I have a crucial mx500 1tb ssd in my ps4 and my load times in cyberpunk are typically about 34 seconds. The worst areas to load in the game like the market place take more like 43 seconds. But yea, cutting the load times by 40-50% compared to its original HDD has been the norm for most games.
Even if you get a next gen console but still like playing your ps4, it's a worthwhile upgrade. For example I did get a Series S bc I had no luck getting a PS5. Going back to play some things on my old ps4 is much less tedious thanks to the SSD.

@@TheBandoBandito in addition to whichever ssd you get, you'll need a usb stick with the ps4 update on it and an external drive for backing up your ps4 to later restore onto the SSD. There are plenty of tutorial videos floating around RUclips on how to do it. It's not complicated, it just takes a little time.
The other cool thing about the upgrade is not only the better load times but it general the system OS and dashboard become more responsive and just generally feels snappier to navigate.

@@javi4148 aver, que yo lo he jugado en una rtx 3070 a 1440p y, salvo por el raytracing (mas que todo en el agua y en las superficies reflectantes) tampoco es que haya visto una diferencia tan brutal. Tu comparación con crysis simplemente no tiene sentido, porque el crysis de pc y consolas era totalmente diferente, caso contrario a cyberpunk (hablando de versiones next gen claro esta) pues el juego sigue igual.
I played it on ps4 when it recently came out. I like the world and the story but personally for fp view is such a turn off I barely play any game on fp view. I force myself to play this game bc the story got me so finish it but after I was done with the main story I was done with never touch it again it just annoys me to play in fp so I rather no play it. 😓 it's what it's to those that don't mind the views enjoy the game is fun and has a nice setting for the story they created for that kind of world 👍
With a modded PS4 Pro I got mine to play 60fps Quality mode....

RT Shadows are so pointless in every game, there's hardly a difference.

I disagree. They do have quite a lot of benefits over traditional shadow maps + Screen Space shadows. They're more accurate and can do soft shadows and vary their penumbra without massive performance penalties to simulate that effect. Plus they do not suffer from peter panning like shadow maps nor disappear from the screen when the object is off screen like screen space shadows. Sure they aren't as flashy or noticeable as RT Reflections or RTGI but they do make shadows look better
The rt shadows are for local shadow only. Not sun shadows.

69 seconds loading screens are still very off putting for me. But it seems like the game is now actually playable on last gen. I really don't know if it's worth my money now. If someone here got the game on ps4 maybe they could tell me how it is?

Aw man idk why but OG ps4 is running slow..music kicks in slow and scanning things it’s just basically unstable and unplayable but I remember last year on update 1.4 or 1.5 the game was playable and running so great that I played hours on end without crashes or major bugs or glitches like fight music starting up slow and slow scanning only in 1.6 is the game now unplayable for me lol
I noticed it in 1.6 on original ps4 I've played on pro for awhile before downgrading cause of motherboard probs and noticed atleast with driving the original ps4 hates it on 1.6 the original version(glitches and all) ran smoother "my game is phisical so I disable wifi when installing the disk

The ray traced shadows are nice but it’s sad that this the only raytracing the PS5 is gonna really only be able to do in the future 😑😑
Not too surpising. RT is very expensive. Maybe they could add an additional mode, one for Reflections and the other for shadows. Multiple RT settings on just isn't feasible on the consoles though

Actually ray-tracing mode on ps5 could be a deal for the rides or making photos at night, then you will see the difference. But for the actual gameplay the performance mode is way better, almost the same graphics but with 60fps
You won't notice anything at night in the rt mode because the only raytracing feature is shadows not reflections or ambient occlusion 😂😂😂
@@i3l4ckskillzz79 I meant reflections. You can see the difference in reflections between RT and performance mode, especially at night) Even though it's not an actual ray tracing, the difference in reflections resolution is very noticeable.

hey, I played v1.5 and I have some crashes tho they are few and far between, so if you are 1.5 and above you should be fine. playin 1.6 now to see any difference. btw I play on Pro

Creo que como está ahora es una versión bastante decente después de todos los problemas que daba el juego. Ya no tienen esos bajones terribles que pegaba en las versiones PS4/pro. Deseando ver las versiones de Xbox one/ x que esta última es la versión que yo pude jugar y rendía bastante mal.... Saludos!
Я знаю, что еще с третьего Ведьмака присутствовали тени в сеточку, и я думал, что эт проблема решаема с увеличением графич. характеристик, но нет; а вот насчет щетины в сеточку эт я впервые наблюдаю (в ведьмаке не было такого). Тут в киберпанке по городу летит что-то большое в небе и тень огромная падает на дорогу, ипать-колотить на ультрах с обдолбанной маркетинговой недотрассировкой лучей я наблюдаю как края этой огромной тени, снова же, в сеточку. П.С. Ребят, Бог с ними с этими тенями и щетинами в сеточку, а вот за вашу лоханскую никчемную в кавычках "трассировку лучей", не важно в этой игре или в какой-нить другой, переплачивать НЕТ и НЕ БУДЕТ никакого смысла еще ближайшие 10 лет. Нынешняя трассировка лучей сейчас для лошков придумана маркетологами для отмыва бабок. Так что лошки, переплачивайте за эту шляпу)
