It doesn't seem too be much different on PC even with crowd density on high. It's a shame, the city looked so alive in the 2018 demo but the retail version doesn't even come close to matching it. Hopefully it's something they can address with updates down the road

I don’t understand the hype behind this game. The presentation is god awful as there is too many things on the screen, doesn’t set a good first impression. The AI pedestrian behavior are a significant downgrade over Watch Dogs Legion. The animations are average. Poor facial expression. Technically speaking Cyberpunk 2077 is a game almost fit for Xbox 360/PS3. Compare everything in Cyberpunk to Red Dead Redemption 2 feels like it is 2 generations behind.
@@terrydactyl2077 G synch and free sync are where created to help make the game a bit smoother when/if the game is running below the monitors native refresh rate. G sync is not a high performance feature it's to make games smoother at low framerates.

The fact that CD project red refused to send out reviews codes for consoles and restricting reviewers from even showing their own gameplay, tells me they knew how bad this was on consoles and still released it, with only the PC reviews out. Am truly disappointed in them for deceiving their fans on consoles but what's i find depressing is how some people are still defending this. I will bet my whole life savings, if this was done by EA, Activision, or Ubisoft many more people will be going after them. Dude is just being honest. No offense to all console players but base consoles are garbage by todays standards of hardware. And you expect them to run the best graphics of 2020 at 4k 60fps? I am glad that we PC players for once got a game that is PC first and not some port from consoles. Personally i think they would be better with not releasing the game on base consoles at all but there are probably complications with sony and microsoft. I doubt they would be happy with them not releasing on base ps4 and releasing on ps4 pro because both are "same" gen when in reality they are not. This is what happens when you start releasing several console with different power and calling them same gen. This will probably happen in the future as well with new xbox console being that one is a lot weaker so when the next gen comes the s will struggle as much as ps4 is now. A lot of the environment assets and textures are even ps2 level. Fanboys saying this game has so much going on and is too big for the ps4 to handle but I seriously don't see what exactly big is this game doing that is beyond ps4 capabilities? How is this game more advance than witcher 3? It's just like any other open world game but ends up looking way worse than everything else. And I'm not even mentioning all the damn glitches, bugs and crashes yet.

@@jorappster not expensive. It is. I could run Crysis on a pre-built PC back when it came out with GT8600. This was cheap. Now if you want to play any modern title at low in 1080p with decent fps you have to buy at least a 400$ GPU. Which wasn't the case with Crysis because guess what? It looked amazing even on the lowest settings. Cyperpunk is demanding but nothing impressive even on Max. And that alone tells me a lot about the lack of optimization.

Depends what you're used to, I've played and seen nothing-but PS4 games for seven yrs; and this is the prettiest of all of them. It honestly looks like what it is; a next-gen game [needs PS5 to do it justice], on PS4. So it has similar compromises to e.g Witcher on Switch-and that's still a good looking game, even on that machine. By PS4 standards; there's nothing out there graphically to compare to Cyberpunk.

There's absolutely no shot of any level of playable release on Switch. Switch "Pro" or whatever it ends up being is going to have to bring the heat relative to what the base Switch is capable of to even have a puncher's chance.

All those games are based on generally rural locations and/ or have far fewer NPC's and stuff going on, they're not really comparable in terms of hardware requirements. This doesn't mean that CDPR doesn't need to improve performance on PS4 of course, I'm just saying that those games aren't really a fair comparison.

New version that comes later specifically for next-gen will probably include modern upscaling technology (like DLSS) and that will greatly improve performance. I play on laptop with a RTX 2060 and without DLSS on medium settings i have like 30fps, if i turn on DLSS i can play the game on ultra settings with 60-80 FPS.. Pretty crazy.

I'd the the only thing worth defending is that CDPR are pretty good as supporting their games, but that's more a defense for the future if it happens. EA barely fixes anything after it comes out.
I think they're defending it because CDPR at least has a history of supporting games well past release. EA does too but usually only if the game is received well. If an EA game is received poorly they tend to just abandon it and move on.

@@benr8071 OR Saber Interactive. Believe it or not, but in it's current stste Witcher 3 has clearer visuals and less blurried picture than 2077 on basic PS4. Witcher on Switch even has more NPCs in Novigrad that is shown by the DF in this video on PS4

For the PC master race / rich boy crowd: Basically no console gamer ever expects any game to perform like it does on high end PCs. They do, however, expect the game to be in a playable state and triple A games to have performance comparable to other games released on that same console. Console gamers are not angry that they do not get 4K ray tracing, they are angry that they get sub 30fps and 10 second texture loads. If CDPR had said "Ok guys, we have an ambitious vision for this game, and PS4/XBONE consoles are just not powerful enough, so this game will only release on PS5/Series X and PC", would I have been a bit bummed out? Sure. Would I have felt cheated and angry? No. The problem is not that they made a game that is too ambitious for last gen, it is that they lied about it and released the game on platforms that it clearly just cannot run acceptably on. Personally, I think they should cut their losses, recall and refund every single last gen purchase, and then just admit that this game is not supposed to be played on last gen, it never was, and they have been lying to us for almost a decade.
I believe they simply have not prioritized last gen optomization. It's unfortunate, but I'm sure they needed to push the game out without another delay for the fiscal; consequences be what they are. The patch is called xbox series x or ps5. Or even PC. I mean given how ambitious they seemed to be with this, shoudn't come as a huge surprise xbox one and ps4 have issues. Hell people even knew about this over a month ago.

I'm playing on pc and having performance issues. Especially when it comes to combat and driving I found having less than 60 frames seriously impacted enjoyment. Felt sluggish and unresponsive. Gotta feel for my console bros because it's heartbreaking that after all this time it finally arrives and it looks like this

When you remember this was supposed to come out in April and this is a last gen title (it just is, with a next game upgrade like other titles) and whoof this is embarrassing.
it was still going to end up like this on consoles and be prettier on PC. The game has insane amounts of objects and stuff happening, so it takes a toll on the quality in textures, models and performance. It's just like the example they gave with GTA V running horribly on PS3's. Similar thing going on but with even more complexity. I understand the frustratiom though, it was misleading.

@@Shu577 PC wise (what I am looking for) you buy second hand GPU cards for more than they sold originally 1-2 years ago (2xxx RTX series mainly). The 3xxx RTX series are basically fairytales right now, goodluck getting one of those for retail prices. XSX/PS5 are being scalped to hell and back just like the 3xxx RTX GPU's. to get either an XSX/PS5/3XXX RTX you need to be quite lucky or pay scalper prices - simple as that.

@@alaaaintasucka1616 TW3 and Gwent also had a mountain of bugs and performance issues. Don't pretend like this is a one time problem with CDPR. Their track record clearly shows that they're bad at optimization. From what I've heard, TW2 was extremely janky too, though I never played that one.
meh, that's nothing. I've seen at least 3 floating bags, one NPC who temporarily joins my party ended up permanently joining _and_ you're unable to interact with them/make them leave, several CTDs, and softlocking in the first braindance scene.
I do have to say, I bought Cyberpunk 2077 a few weeks ago and now vs this video - they have really done a lot of updates and fixing of this. Mine has a totally stable framerate, looks gorgeous, and plays well. In my experience, I've had a couple of small glitches with audio cutting out (no, I am not pressing circle), some visual glitches if I am driving too fast like a maniac (textures loading in too slow, very rarely happens though), and the largest glitch was for some reason my game losing the ability to save. I think the smaller glitches are due to me using the PS4Pro stock HDD and would likely be totally fixed with an SSD replacement... the large glitch with not being able to save my game was fixed with a restart - I think this glitch is probably from having one too many manual save files because I deleted some older manual saves and it's totally fine now. The PS4Pro framerate is pretty stable now though... looks like stable 30fps to me. Best bet would be to buy an SSD to mitigate any texture pop in, slow loading, and small annoying glitches. But yeah... I would say if you found it on sale, def get it. I am having a total blast. If things change, I'll be sure to comment on here with an update, but so far so good. As far as regular PS4, not entirely sure how it's running but I have heard it's going good on there too.
I have a PS4 Pro gathering dust. I bought it on PC when it released and I didn't have any performance issues, but it was a bit buggy. The main reason I got it on PC was because it only runs at 30fps on consoles. That's pretty terrible in my opinion in a first person shooter. Probably would have considered it if it was 60fps.

It doesn't seem too be much different on PC even with crowd density on high. It's a shame, the city looked so alive in the 2018 demo but the retail version doesn't even come close to matching it. Hopefully it's something they can address with updates down the road

I don’t understand the hype behind this game. The presentation is god awful as there is too many things on the screen, doesn’t set a good first impression. The AI pedestrian behavior are a significant downgrade over Watch Dogs Legion. The animations are average. Poor facial expression. Technically speaking Cyberpunk 2077 is a game almost fit for Xbox 360/PS3. Compare everything in Cyberpunk to Red Dead Redemption 2 feels like it is 2 generations behind.

You can use G-sync on any game as long as you are using a PC with an Nvidia GPU and a monitor with the hardware to support it

The fact that CD project red refused to send out reviews codes for consoles and restricting reviewers from even showing their own gameplay, tells me they knew how bad this was on consoles and still released it, with only the PC reviews out. Am truly disappointed in them for deceiving their fans on consoles but what's i find depressing is how some people are still defending this. I will bet my whole life savings, if this was done by EA, Activision, or Ubisoft many more people will be going after them. CD project needs to be called out for this, like we would for other developers.

Dude is just being honest. No offense to all console players but base consoles are garbage by todays standards of hardware. And you expect them to run the best graphics of 2020 at 4k 60fps? I am glad that we PC players for once got a game that is PC first and not some port from consoles. Personally i think they would be better with not releasing the game on base consoles at all but there are probably complications with sony and microsoft. I doubt they would be happy with them not releasing on base ps4 and releasing on ps4 pro because both are "same" gen when in reality they are not. This is what happens when you start releasing several console with different power and calling them same gen. This will probably happen in the future as well with new xbox console being that one is a lot weaker so when the next gen comes the s will struggle as much as ps4 is now. So yea, its a shitty but honest take on the situation.

A lot of the environment assets and textures are even ps2 level. How is this game more advance than witcher 3? It's just like any other open world game but ends up looking way worse than everything else. Crisis 3 was tough on any pc, I run cyberpunk on a 2060 Super on the highest setting and that's not even an expensive card.

This was cheap. Now if you want to play any modern title at low in 1080p with decent fps you have to buy at least a 400$ GPU. Which wasn't the case with Crysis because guess what? It looked amazing even on the lowest settings. Cyperpunk is demanding but nothing impressive even on Max. And that alone tells me a lot about the lack of optimization.

Depends what you're used to, I've played and seen nothing-but PS4 games for seven yrs; and this is the prettiest of all of them. It honestly looks like what it is; a next-gen game [needs PS5 to do it justice], on PS4. So it has similar compromises to e.g Witcher on Switch-and that's still a good looking game, even on that machine. By PS4 standards; there's nothing out there graphically to compare to Cyberpunk.

Didn't need to upgrade to play Red Dead Redemption 2, Ghost of Tsushima, and Last of Us 2. Cyberpunk 2077 on base PS4 is a horrible 720p blurry mess.
All those games are based on generally rural locations and/ or have far fewer NPC's and stuff going on, they're not really comparable in terms of hardware requirements. This doesn't mean that CDPR doesn't need to improve performance on PS4 of course, I'm just saying that those games aren't really a fair comparison.

New version that comes later specifically for next-gen will probably include modern upscaling technology (like DLSS) and that will greatly improve performance. I play on laptop with a RTX 2060 and without DLSS on medium settings i have like 30fps, if i turn on DLSS i can play the game on ultra settings with 60-80 FPS.. Pretty crazy.

I think they're defending it because CDPR at least has a history of supporting games well past release. EA does too but usually only if the game is received well. If an EA game is received poorly they tend to just abandon it and move on.

Cross gen games just don't work. Especially on this scale. They should have pick a generation. And dedicated their resources to it.
That's the most sensible solution. They should have either 1) Scaled back graphics and textures, invested most of their resources for last gen. 2)Announce it for next gen in early 2021 and just say it won't run on old gen or 3)Just release it on PC.

Basically no console gamer ever expects any game to perform like it does on high end PCs. They do, however, expect the game to be in a playable state and triple A games to have performance comparable to other games released on that same console.
Console gamers are not angry that they do not get 4K ray tracing, they are angry that they get sub 30fps and 10 second texture loads.
If CDPR had said "Ok guys, we have an ambitious vision for this game, and PS4/XBONE consoles are just not powerful enough, so this game will only release on PS5/Series X and PC", would I have been a bit bummed out? Sure. Would I have felt cheated and angry? No.
The problem is not that they made a game that is too ambitious for last gen, it is that they lied about it and released the game on platforms that it clearly just cannot run acceptably on.
Personally, I think they should cut their losses, recall and refund every single last gen purchase, and then just admit that this game is not supposed to be played on last gen, it never was, and they have been lying to us for almost a decade.
They just need to optimize more for the lower end consoles prioritize 30fps over graphics
I believe they simply have not prioritized last gen optomization. It's unfortunate, but I'm sure they needed to push the game out without another delay for the fiscal; consequences be what they are.

I mean, if you buy a game on the PS4 or the Xbone, you expect it to work. You expect it to run better than 15fps, and you expect it not to crash 5 times in a row. That's totally fair.
That said, it does seem like old gen players were looking at what was clearly ultra-setting RUclips videos taken on a monstrously high end PC with ray-tracing turned to the max, and they were expecting that to be their version as well. If you expected 7 year old consoles (that were already underpowered when they released) to play a game like this well, and look well, you were probably deluding yourself.

I'm playing on pc and having performance issues. Especially when it comes to combat and driving I found having less than 60 frames seriously impacted enjoyment. Felt sluggish and unresponsive. Gotta feel for my console bros because it's heartbreaking that after all this time it finally arrives and it looks like this

I think ps4 pro was kept more in mind for current gen. But it is sad about the current base ps4 state but they might be able to optimize it overtime like they did for witcher 3.
The fact that John sounded sad when he was introduced is an instant red flag for the game.
Seriously, contrast that with his enthusiasm and the other videos is a giant red flag. GameKult's reviewer issued a hard warning for base PS4/XB1 owners to avoid this.

When you remember this was supposed to come out in April and this is a last gen title (it just is, with a next game upgrade like other titles) and whoof this is embarrassing.
it was still going to end up like this on consoles and be prettier on PC. The game has insane amounts of objects and stuff happening, so it takes a toll on the quality in textures, models and performance. It's just like the example they gave with GTA V running horribly on PS3's. Similar thing going on but with even more complexity. I understand the frustratiom though, it was misleading.

@@pxrxy I bought GTA v a week after it came out for the ps3 and agree with you. The game was never that bad. It had issues and wasn’t as pretty as the next gen versions, but it played well enough.

@@Shu577 PC wise (what I am looking for) you buy second hand GPU cards for more than they sold originally 1-2 years ago (2xxx RTX series mainly). The 3xxx RTX series are basically fairytales right now, goodluck getting one of those for retail prices.
XSX/PS5 are being scalped to hell and back just like the 3xxx RTX GPU's. to get either an XSX/PS5/3XXX RTX you need to be quite lucky or pay scalper prices - simple as that.

@@alaaaintasucka1616 TW3 and Gwent also had a mountain of bugs and performance issues. Don't pretend like this is a one time problem with CDPR. Their track record clearly shows that they're bad at optimization. From what I've heard, TW2 was extremely janky too, though I never played that one.

meh, that's nothing. I've seen at least 3 floating bags, one NPC who temporarily joins my party ended up permanently joining _and_ you're unable to interact with them/make them leave, several CTDs, and softlocking in the first braindance scene.
I do have to say, I bought Cyberpunk 2077 a few weeks ago and now vs this video - they have really done a lot of updates and fixing of this. Mine has a totally stable framerate, looks gorgeous, and plays well. In my experience, I've had a couple of small glitches with audio cutting out (no, I am not pressing circle), some visual glitches if I am driving too fast like a maniac (textures loading in too slow, very rarely happens though), and the largest glitch was for some reason my game losing the ability to save. I think the smaller glitches are due to me using the PS4Pro stock HDD and would likely be totally fixed with an SSD replacement... the large glitch with not being able to save my game was fixed with a restart - I think this glitch is probably from having one too many manual save files because I deleted some older manual saves and it's totally fine now.
The PS4Pro framerate is pretty stable now though... looks like stable 30fps to me. Best bet would be to buy an SSD to mitigate any texture pop in, slow loading, and small annoying glitches. But yeah... I would say if you found it on sale, def get it. I am having a total blast. If things change, I'll be sure to comment on here with an update, but so far so good. As far as regular PS4, not entirely sure how it's running but I have heard it's going good on there too.
I have a PS4 Pro gathering dust. I bought it on PC when it released and I didn't have any performance issues, but it was a bit buggy.
The main reason I got it on PC was because it only runs at 30fps on consoles. That's pretty terrible in my opinion in a first person shooter. Probably would have considered it if it was 60fps.
