I can't believe a group of professionals sat down together and thought it was okay to use a major artist 's name in the song's title. Yehua really set her up.
@@Matthew-sl8dxBut as shown in the video, the lyrics in this song isn’t about Olivia at all. So to me it seems like she just used Olivia’s fame lol. Not to mention it’s more negative as well because she used the word Hate in the title and have the hashtag haterodrigo going on to promote.
@@Matthew-sl8dx ok, I haven't look into it myself but the fact that they have the hashtag HateRodrigo to promote is still bad. Not to mention they didn't contact Olivia's team at all for using her photos in the MV. Plus having a song called "Madonna" and "Hate Madonna" is 2 very different things. One's negative and one's not. And I'm pretty sure the hashtags are going to be the 1st thing for Olivia to see, Imagine also having a comeback and you already have a hashtag about hating you going on. This could've been easily avoided if the song's "Wannabe Olivia/Rodrigo", or "Jealous of Olivia", or just "Rodrigo" like "Madonna" but I'm going to assume they went with Hate anyways because they need the attention.
I think Yena’s song is really cute and I think it would have been better (especially to avoid copyright issues) and really clever if the song was called “Hate G-idle,” especially since Yuqi is featured in it and helps Yena not be so jealous
It should have just been anything except "hate" jealous of rodrigos or love rodrigo, but changing it to gidle wont help alot and is still attention seeking and eeird
This song is just too cute, I agree with the others in the comments the name could have been changed to something like Hate XX and maybe remove Rodrigo name from the lyrics. Like every yena song it's been on replay. Yena is one of the few that really do pop rock really well. I think this image and sound will transfer relatively well in Japan when she makes her debut.
To be fair I found her song because people have been talking about the title and stuff,so I guess it was a good marketing strategy if they didn’t add olivia’s images to avoid copyright
It feels really unnecessary, even if she's a big fan of her. Putting pictures and albums, the title in itself, making the whole aesthetic of the mv about her, it's too much, at least for me, but the song was really nice and cute, but it might have been to gain attention since everyone's talking about it
I feel like the title is a bit clickbaity, but it does cover the title a little. I feel like it would've been better if the title was something like "hate you" or "hate them" or just "hate xx" like the album.
I absolutly love this song, he concept and idea of it but Yehua really set her up for hate with it. Using a major artists name in a song and making it seem hatefull on a surface level is idiotic.
Not one of the worst, but DEFINITELY up there for this year. Noise marketing is always cringy and never brings any good credibility to a kpop group/act
I think atp it's the title of the song that brings so much negative attention than the songs itself. Guys, they are promoting the song with hashtag as haterodrigo, and at first perspective, anybody would think its a hate song . There is obviously a lot of hate for olivia and she just released her new single . I can't believe there was a group of members who sat and decided that this should be the title, couldn't they come up with anything else? they can't just justify this , they really went too far.
Sure it was clickbaity, but it was also a major callout to those that accused Yena of copying Olivia in the past via her Smiley MV. Imo not a great move to give the accusers more reasons to hate on her. But maybe an "all press is good press" marketing strategy - and it's worked, loads of people are talking about it
its kinda like wishing you could be that person without having any malicious intentions/thoughts towards that person or causing any harm to that person
Using someone's name in a ckickbait is just embarrassing🥲 using olivia as the main theme of the song even though without intended hate is just a no no to me
I can't believe a group of professionals sat down together and thought it was okay to use a major artist 's name in the song's title. Yehua really set her up.
It’s been done countless times 😭 even Luna from f(x) has a song called Madonna and it’s all about wanting to be Madonna

@@mangocaramel the song literally is about Olivia even YENA admitted it herself, the lyrics directly reference Olivia’s songs too

@@mangocaramelmost of your comment makes sense but to just assume they needed attention is wild. Most likely is an exotic title. Not for fame.

She should have done it like "hate xx" and make up a character, not use olivia's name imo
she’s too cute for this, her team needs to do better

,,thanks for explaining it❤❤❤❤
It's still and embarassing and cringy comeback. might me one of the worst concepts ever made in kpop
Not one of the worst, but DEFINITELY up there for this year. Noise marketing is always cringy and never brings any good credibility to a kpop group/act
it makes me sad because the song is such an ear worm and i really like it 😭
Finally someone said it!!
Publicity. Yuehua wanted publicity. It has no connection. It was there for shock value but it became way too shocking.
Yeah that's what a thought at first when I watch it gladly I'm not the only one who notice it thanks girl ❤❤❤
Actually, it was to show the inspiration. Jealousy is a Olivia Rodrigo song

I want an Everglow cb instead of this cringy cb. Even without Olivia Rodrigo thing this song is unfunny and tasteless tbh
They should've thought the name before letting it out , i think she deserves all the hate she is getting
I think you all missed the entire point of her song though.
Oh then I regret my words 😅
What is cute jealousy 😭
light hearted jealousy and admiration
its kinda like wishing you could be that person without having any malicious intentions/thoughts towards that person or causing any harm to that person
Idk I felt like it was way too desperate for attention
I think it’s just a case of bad titles
Please. Like stop making videos abt this it not that big of a deal lmfao
she makes money by talking about kpop situations/opinions it’s really not that deep
Very disspointed i thought it was about me lol😅
You wish
