THE SONG IS NOT A DISS TRACK!! THE TITLE IS NOT A CLICKBAIT!! I posted this comment just to be clear. Yena looks up to Olivia Rodrigo. This just shows how fans shouldn't end up as their idols' copycats. You see, this MV of Yena has similarities to Olivia's, that just implicates that in the MV, Yena is basically copying Olivia because she is jealous of her and is a fan of her at the same time. She is a fan of her that she copies her because she wanted to be like her. Olivia has so many fans, especially young girls. This was to show a cute jealousy of a girl towards another girl. Yena is a big fan of Olivia. Don't call Yena a clout chaser or a copycat. You can call this song "cringe" or "childish" all you want, but this song is meaningful. YENA doesn't deserve hate. The message of this song is pleasant. I know you might say that the title still seems off, but this is a concept. This doesn't implicate that Yena hates Olivia. Enjoy the song and Stream~!! FIGHTING, YENA & JIGUMIS!!
I'm not doing this just because I'm a big fan of Yena, but I know she doesn't deserve this. Don't judge her. YENA DOESN'T DESERVE HATE. SHE'S LITERALLY PROVING A POINT THAT'S RARELY BEING BROUGHT UP. I'm just so sick and tired of idols being hated for something that isn't their fault.

I don’t know why people beat up this song so much. It’s so cute. & there’s no actual hate toward Olivia Rodrigo. Perhaps they would have been better off with a different title, like “Jealous Rodrigo” as it’s about her jealousy of her from loving her so much, a girl crush essentially, just innocent envy of someone you admire a lot, so that you want to be like them. It’s a very innocent subject, nothing hateful whatsoever. But yea… they should have thought more about the title of the song… I feel like people judged it for that before even listening, let alone reading the lyrics. No hate here. Only a girl crush.
I think the problem is that they made the title "Hate Rodrigo" for publicity and thought that once the song came out, people would get it. But they overestimated the intelligence of stans, because most people didn't understand the actual message and instead for some reason saw it as a diss track against Olivia Rodrigo or something. I think the issue is that it flew over people's heads.
imagine: a kpop fan or korean american (or korean exchange student!) in a disney channel original movie getting ready for school in the mid-late 2000s-early 2010s. there is a montage of all the bands she likes while she puts on a sequin scarf and a hollister shirt. she takes a bite out of the breakfast her mom makes and meets up with her friends after biking to school. the rest of the movies plays out (idk what else to add)
I am so proud of Yena, no matter what anyone says it wasnt her fault and this song is such a bop and the message is really admirable. She talks about loving rodrigo so much she hates her because she is jealous (hence the "Im not jealous anymore") and when she finds Yuqi who dresses the same and has the same enrgy she starts to love herself and think that she doesnt need to be like olivia anymore and that she wants to be herself. Stan Yena for good mental health
Repeat with me : YENA is an all-rounder and so versatile! She can do both dark and cute concepts effortlessly! She deserves more recognition as a soloist!!
This great song is about how Yena admires Olivia Rodrigo by the lyrics literally saying that she wants to become like Olivia. There is no any point in dissing or hating, but just full of respect. Hope everything goes well for now attracting more people as a pure song itself. Its melody is too good to be just drowned by the internet's cursed mentions. Fingers crossed. 예나화이팅!💛💛💛

When?
Feels like a song from a teen movie💗
i hope someday this is the soundtrack to some teen movie
imagine: a kpop fan or korean american (or korean exchange student!) in a disney channel original movie getting ready for school in the mid-late 2000s-early 2010s. there is a montage of all the bands she likes while she puts on a sequin scarf and a hollister shirt. she takes a bite out of the breakfast her mom makes and meets up with her friends after biking to school. the rest of the movies plays out (idk what else to add)
this song suits the XO KITTY series a lot
